For the second consecutive season, Alex Guenette finishes runner-up in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Quebec's Autodrome St-Eustache.
Guenette started the No. 39 Motos Illimitées Dodge 4th on the grid for the National 250. He spent the almost the entire race in the top-five, led one lap and finished second to race-winner Scott Steckly. Four of his five career top-10s were recorded at ovals, led by a runner-up finish in 2013 at Autodrome St. Eustache. This will be his 2014 debut. Did not participate in the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park opener.-NCATS

Alex Guenette, the 17-year-old from Terrebonne, Que., was a Canadian Tire Series rookie in every sense of the word this season.

With little or no prior exposure to the series’ cars or tracks, Guenette proved to be a quick study and earned series rookie-of-the-year honors. After a back-and-forth battle throughout the season, Alex Guenette has earned the 2013 rookie of the year award for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 by just one point over Ryley Seibert.

Guenette, the 17-year-old from Terrebonne, Quebec, was the top-finishing rookie on five occasions this season while piloting the No. 39 Motos Illimitées/DLGL/Polaris Dodge for Dave Jacombs Racing. For the season, Guenette finished 10th in the final series point standings and recorded two top-five and five top-10 finishes including a season-best finish of second on July 27 at Autodrome St. Eustache (Quebec).

Alex Guenette (No. 39 Kawasaki/Motos Illimitées/DLGL Dodge) will be making his Barrie Speedway debut in the Hudco Electric Supply 300 on Saturday, September 7.
