Carlos Peralta edged out Ruben Pardo by .007 seconds to claim his first career NASCAR Toyota Series pole award on Saturday at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.

The driver of the No. 7 La Costeña – Café Oro Toyota stopped the clock at 32.319 seconds for an average speed of 111.390 mph. Pardo will join him on the front row after recording a time of 32.326 seconds (111.365 mph). Sunday's Mexico Fest 240 marks the final event of the first part of the Toyota Series Championship. After which, the top eight drivers and two wildcard drivers will take place in the "Desafío," a five race playoff format to decide the series championship. Peralta is currently 16th in the overall points standings.
