Kyle Benjamin moved into first place in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East point standings after a second-place finish in Saturday's PittLite 125 at Tennessee's Bristol Motor Speedway.

He started his #40 FEVR Chevrolet third in the lineup and completed all laps of the 125-lap event. Spencer Davis, points leader going into Bristol, dropped to third in the NKNPSE standings after his 14th place finish. Benjamin leads Justin Haley (finished fourth) by three points after this event.

Won the PittLite125 last year in his Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway debut to earn his first series victory. At the three previous half-mile tracks this season, New Smyrna, Mobile and Greenville Pickens, he’s finished fourth, sixth and second, respectively. Is a member of the 2015-16 NASCAR Next class.

Kyle Benjamin (#40 FEVR Chevrolet) scores a second place finish in Saturday's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway.

He started on the pole and completed all laps of the 150-lap event. Besides winning the 21 Means 21 Pole award, Benjamin also won the Autolite Iridium XP Lap Leader award for leading a race-high 122 laps. With this finish, he moved up to second in the 2016 K&N Pro Series-East championship point standings, three points behind leader Spencer Davis.

Kyle Benjamin, a race winner in both the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the ARCA Racing Series, will compete in select 2016 events in both series for Ranier Racing with MDM.

Starting with the Feb. 14 race at New Smyrna Speedway, the season opener for the K&N East, Benjamin will pilot the #40 Chevrolet for the recently announced pairing of Lorin Ranier, a longtime NASCAR driver development consultant, and the pre-existing MDM-Hillman Racing team. 2013 K&N East championship-winning crew chief Mardy Lindley will serve in the same capacity for Benjamin in all of his K&N East and ARCA starts. In ARCA competition, he'll sport the #28 Chevrolet, a number utilized by the likes of Buddy Baker, Benny Parsons, Cale Yarbrough, Bobby Allison and Davey Allison while driving for Ranier Racing.-Rising Star Management Group

Kyle Benjamin, the 17-year-old from Easley, South Carolina, competed in his first full NASCAR K&N Pro East (NKNPSE) season this year.

In his 13 starts this year, he earned one win, three top fives and six top 10s for a ninth place finish in the final standings. Benjamin started the season out on a high note, finish fifth at the season opener at New Smyrna Speedway. In just his third start of the season, the NASCAR Next driver earned his first NASCAR victory with his win at Tennessee’s Bristol Motor Speedway after leading 81 laps and scored a runner-up finish at Virginia’s Langley Speedway in June.-NKNPSE
