Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) announced that veteran crew chief Jerry Baxter will move over to call the shots for the back-to-back reigning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owner’s Champion No. 51 team.
Baxter joined KBM at the beginning of 2013 and served as crew chief for the No. 54 Tundra team with Darrell Wallace Jr. the last two seasons. "Jerry came to KBM with a history of success working with young drivers and Darrell thrived under his tutelage the last two seasons," said (team owner Kyle) Busch. Matt Tifft will run a six-race 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

He will share the driving duties behind the wheel of his Tundra with KBM owner-driver Kyle Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Daniel Suarez competing for the Truck Series Owner’s Championship. Tifft has made 12 ARCA Racing Series starts the last two seasons, registering six top-five and eight top-10 finishes. He also competed in the NASCAR K&N East and West Series, posting one top-five and nine top-10 finishes across 24 starts. He competed in two of the last three Truck Series races this season, including an eighth-place finish at Martinsville in September and a 21st-place finish in the series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend.-Kyle Busch Motorsports

Matt Tifft finishes eighth in Saturday's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville (VA) Speedway.

He started the No. 0 Chevrolet Silverado 20th in the lineup for the Kroger 200. Tifft, an ARCA Racing Series regular, made only one start in the NCWTS this season. He is currently 58th in the 2014 NCWTS point standings after the event.

Matt Tifft leads the first practice for the K&N PS-East Granite State 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

A lap of 126.601 mph in the No. 52 Dodge was the quickest of the 31 cars out on the track for the first practice session. No. 41 Ben Rhodes, No. 6 Daniel Suarez, No. 97 Jesse Little and No. 2 Ryan Gifford are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 56 Akinori Ogata was the slowest.

Ken Schrader didn’t beat around the bush when he called his driver, Matt Tifft, after he tested at Pocono Raceway Wednesday.

"Well, did you wreck in the tunnel turn yet?" Schrader asked his 17-year-old driver. Fortunately, Tifft had the right answer for the owner of his No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet. "I was able to tell him no," Tifft said. "That was a good thing." Tifft is making his superspeedway debut at the 2.5-mile Tricky Triangle. It’s been a quite a month for the Hinckley, Ohio, native, who is going from the half-mile short track Toledo Speedway to the 14-turn road course in New Jersey to Pocono Raceway.

Matt Tifft announced associate sponsorship with Wisconsin based Merrell Food Group's Crunch ‘N Nutter and Ken Schrader Racing, Inc. for the 2014 season.

He will run select races in the ARCA Racing Series and in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division. The 17-year-old high school senior has been racing since 2007, where he started racing go karts at Barberton Speedway in Norton, Ohio. Since then, Tifft has moved up the ranks and expanded his resume to include late model and cars in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. The young driver ran the 2013 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season and two ARCA Racing Series events finishing fifth at Toledo Speedway in May.-ARCA Racing News
