Scott Wimmer will make his inaugural start with the MacDonald Motorsports racing team in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race, the Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.
He will drive the No. 81 K-LOVE Dodge in what will be his 225th series start. He has five Nationwide Series starts at Chicagoland, with a best finish of 13th twice – in 2001 and 2002. Scott Wimmer makes the most improvement in the Nationwide Series after this weekend’s race.

His 15th place finish in the U.S. Cellular 250 was 24 places better than his last NNS finish. This earned the No. 70 driver a $2,400 check and the Featherlite "Most Improved Driver" award. Wimmer, who made 18 of the 22 races so far this season, is currently 22nd in the 2011 Nationwide Series point standings.

Driver Scott Wimmer was tagged to drive the #70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet Impala for ML Motorsports this weekend at Iowa Speedway for the US Cellular 250.

This is the 3rd race this season with Wimmer behind the wheel of the ML Motorsports machine, and the 2nd time this season at Iowa, the 1st of which resulted in a 15th place finish after starting in 24th. Wimmer sits 22nd in the Nationwide Series Driver Championship Points Standings, while Mary Louise Miller is also 22nd in Owner Championship Points.

Scott Wimmer will miss the Sprint Cup Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The team is outside the top 35 in owners points and not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s Cup race. The Robby Gordon Motorsports No. 77 driver’s qualifying speed was 47th fastest and not good enough to make the cut for the event.

He ran a 43rd quickest lap in the No. 77. Since the team is outside the top 35 in owners points and required to qualify on speed, he did not make the cut.

ML Motorsports will be running the No.70 Foretravel Chevrolet at the May 22 event at Iowa Speedway with Scott Wimmer behind the wheel.

Wimmer brings plenty of experience to ML Motorsports with 215 starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Wimmer has six wins, 29 top five and 74 top ten finishes to his credit in the Nationwide Series and currently stands 20th in driver points. Wimmer will also pilot the No.70 Chevrolet at Chicagoland Speedway on June 4th.

Scott Wimmer makes the biggest gain in the 2011 point standings after the Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway.

He started the No. 40 Chevrolet 35th in the lineup and finished 12th. He moved up 5 spots to 18th in the standings. This was the biggest gain of all drivers who have made all 7 races so far this season.

Key Motorsports announced Thursday morning Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup will partner with the No. 40 team and NASCAR driver Scott Wimmer for Saturday’s 300-lap Nationwide Series event at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Key Motorsports enjoyed their best performance of the 2010 season in last spring’s race on the ultra-fast Tennessee track. Wimmer feels the Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet will return to the top-10 at the "World’s Fastest Half Mile" where the independent team posted an eighth-place finish last spring after starting 41st.

Nationwide Series team owner Curtis Key confirmed Wednesday morning Westerman Companies will return as primary sponsor of the #40 Chevy driven by Scott Wimmer for select events in 2011.

Westerman Companies have sponsored Key Motorsports entries since 2007. With details of their 2011 plans yet to be released Key would only say the sponsorship agreement is for "several races." Westerman Companies appeared on the #40 Chevy in 12 races last season. (Key Motorsports)-jayski.com

Curtis Key and his Key Motorsports team will again be fielding the #40 Chevy, now with the new Impala, in the 2011 Nationwide Series season.

For this coming season Curtis has gone back to the well with a driver that he is very familiar with, and knows can show the true ability of his team and the equipment they are putting on track in Wausau, Wisconsin native Scott Wimmer. Scott Wimmer tops the speed chart in the Happy Hour practice session for the Nationwide Series Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway.

He ran a fast lap of 157.286 mph in the No. 27. No. 99 Trevor Bayne, No. 66 Steve Wallace, No. 32 Reed Sorenson and No. 22 Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five of the 42 cars out on the track. The No. 87, driven by Jarit Johnson, was the slowest in the final practice session.

Baker Curb Racing announced today that G2 Gemini Custom Apparel will be a primary sponsor on Scott Wimmer’s No. 27 Ford Fusion for Saturday’s Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway.

The Minnesota-based company provides custom apparel for worldwide customers in several industries, including; fishing, bowling and shooting. Wimmer, a six-time winner in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, won the 2008 Pepsi 300 at Nashville Superspeedway and has nine top-10 finishes in 12 Nationwide Series starts at the concrete track.

Baker Curb Racing announced that Scott Wimmer will drive the team’s No. 27 Red Man Moist Snuff Ford in Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Wimmer will also pilot the No. 27 for Baker Curb Racing in the upcoming stand alone events at Nashville Superspeedway and Kentucky Speedway. The Wausau, WI native has finished in the top 10 in each of his two starts on the NASCAR Nationwide Series this season and has also led a lap in each race. Wimmer drove previously for Baker Curb Racing during the 2006 season and collected four top-10 finishes in 16 starts.

Under terms of the partnership, Army Wives will serve as the official sponsor of JR Motorsports’ No. 7 car, driven by Scott Wimmer, which will be completely wrapped with Army Wives branding during the race in Nashville.
