Ron Fellows will return to the seat he’s occupied for the last four years in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, as JR Motorsports announced he will compete in all three road-course races this season in the No. 5 Chevrolet.

Those races include Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) on June 23, Watkins Glen International (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) on Aug. 11, and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) on Aug. 18. Fellows is a former winner for JR Motorsports, prevailing victorious in JRM’s No. 5 Chevrolet on Aug. 2, 2008, at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. In his career he has four Nationwide Series wins, three of which were collected at Watkins Glen.-JR Motorsports

Ron Fellows leads the first practice session for the Nationwide Series NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

His lap of 102.129 mph in the No. 5 was quickest of the 48 cars out on the track for this session. No. 9 Owen Kelly (practicing for Marcos Ambrose who is in Michigan), 12-Alex Tagliani, 30-Boris Said and 22-Jacques Villeneuve were the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. Chase Miller in the No. 42 was the slowest.

Ron Fellows, a native of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, will compete in his third and final race this season for JRM.

Known for his road-course talents, Fellows drove to a runner-up finish with the team earlier this summer at Road America, along with a top-10 finish last weekend at Watkins Glen. He owns eight career starts with the organization, earning one win (Montreal ’08), four top-fives and six top-10 finishes. Road course racing veteran Ron Fellows will get behind the wheel of the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet for Tommy Baldwin Racing at Watkins Glen International August 14th.

Dave Blaney will pilot the No. 35 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet for the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen. Fellows made his first Sprint Cup start in 1995 at Watkins Glen International. Since his NASCAR debut, the Canadian native made 56 starts in NASCAR’s top-three series, including 22 starts in the NSCS, and tallied four NASCAR Nationwide Series and two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins.

Ron Fellows will drive the No. 5 Chevrolet in NASCAR Nationwide Series events at Watkins Glen (Aug. 13) and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Aug. 20) with Canadian Tire as the team’s primary sponsor for both events.

Fellows finished second at Road America on June 25th for JR Motorsports. The No. 5 Canadian Tire team will give JRM three entries in both of the remaining road-course events. Aric Almirola will drive the No. 88 Chevrolet in both races. Jimmie Johnson will drive the No. 7 at Watkins Glen and Danica Patrick will take over the No. 7 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.-JR Motorsports

With the win, he was part of NASCAR history, as he became the first Canadian to win a NASCAR event on Canadian soil. He qualified sixth and led seven laps en route to his fourth series victory. Tommy Baldwin Racing announced that former Corvette Racing veteran Ron Fellows will drive the No. 36 Chevrolet Impala this weekend at Watkins Glen International.

Fellows, who has earned three top-5 Sprint Cup finishes and three Nationwide victories at Watkins Glen, is one of the best road-course racers in the sport. His NASCAR credentials include six overall wins (two in the Camping World Truck Series), and two runner-up finishes in Sprint Cup competition. With his four Nationwide Series victories, he also has seven top-fives, eight top-10s and two poles in 15 starts.

In nine starts at Watkins Glen, Ron Fellows owns three wins (1998, 2000 and 2001), five top five and six top-10 finishes with 189 laps led – the most among current drivers at the Glen.

He earned two poles at the facility and has an average finish of 12.2. Fellows holds the additional distinction of being the oldest winner of the 82-lap race at 41 years, nine months and 10 days of age following his 2001 victory. A native of Windsor, Ontario, Fellows owns three career starts with JR Motorsports, notching one win and two top-five finishes.
