The reigned CBA MVP has averaged 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.1 minutes in 51 NBA games with Houston, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Atlanta.

Josh Davis will sign a 10-day deal with the Suns on Monday.

The reigning CBA MVP was waived Wednesday by Houston after being a Rocket for less then a week. "I'm a three-point shooter and I like to run," Davis said. "I fit in well with a running offense. I was extremely excited to come here."

Josh Davis has been one of the better players in the CBA, but has been unable to break into the NBA. He appeared in one game for Houston, seeing less than a minute of action.

Granted a waiver by the NBA that will allow them to sign a 16th player, the Rockets are close to an agreement with Josh Davis.

Davis is currently playing with the CBA Idaho Stampede where he is averaging 17.3 points and 6.6 rebounds. "He's had some NBA experience with a good stretch with Philadelphia," general manager Carroll Dawson said. "He's a pretty rugged player, a good rebounder and can spread the floor. He can shoot the 3."

Coach Jim O'Brien has defined the Sixers' current situation at power forward by saying, "Josh Davis is our starting power forward, and Corliss Williamson is our best power forward," insisting it's up to Kenny Thomas to play his way back into the picture.

O'Brien is growing more enamored of Davis, a former CBA MVP and standout player at Wyoming. His strengths are his 3-point shooting (7-of-14 on the season) and shot blocking, where he's second to Theo Ratliff in Wyoming history.
