Luol Deng's knee swelled up at halftime of Sunday's win.
Deng did not play in the second half, and when asked about how he felt, Deng said they'd just take it day-by-day in an attempt to get all of the swelling out of the area. Right now, he sounds very iffy for Tuesday, leaving James Ennis as a possibility to start in his place. Ennis started the second half for Deng on Sunday and finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two threes on 5-of-7 shooting in 24.5 minutes. Mar 30 - 9:40 AM

Luol Deng suffered a left knee contusion vs. the Pistons on Sunday and will not return.

The Heat have had terrible luck with injuries this season, and knowing how cautious they tend to be with their players, it's possible that Deng's status could be in jeopardy for Tuesday's game vs. the Spurs. For what it's worth , head coach Erik Spoelstra was optimistic that Deng would be able to play on Tuesday, but we should be able to provide more details when he is evaluated on Monday. If Deng is forced to miss any time, James Ennis, Michael Beasley (elbow) and Henry Walker would all have to step up on the wing. Deng finished with four points, two boards, one assist and one steal in 18 minutes.

Luol Deng cooled off during Sunday's loss with six points on 3-of-7 shooting, four rebounds and three assists in just 28 minutes of action.

Deng's minutes were down due to the lopsided score, with only Dwyane Wade (12 points) and Goran Dragic (12 points) exceeding the 30-minute mark. He was averaging 16.7 points on 62.5 percent shooting in Miami's previous three games, and remains a solid late-middle round fantasy option when healthy.
Mar 22 - 6:03 PM

Luol Deng scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including three treys) with zero rebounds, two assists and one block over 28 minutes in the Heat's 108-91 win over the Nuggets on Friday.

Deng is clinging to late round value and as a player with all sorts of wear on his tires, owners should be a bit more aggressive in terms of a drop if a mid-to-high level free agent comes their way. Hassan Whiteside went for 14 and 10 with two steals and two blocks, Dwyane Wade scored 22 points with four assists, and Goran Dragic hit 9-of-14 shots for 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in the win.
Mar 21 - 1:43 AM

Luol Deng hit 9-of-13 shots and 4-of-4 3-pointers for 24 points, four rebounds and a steal in Wednesday's win over the Blazers.

It's hard to figure out when Deng is going to get hot, and despite all the hot shooting he did tonight, he hit just 2-of-4 free throws. This was his first 20-point game in March and it's hopefully a sign that his slump is over. Deng had scored 15 or fewer points in seven straight games until tonight's breakout.
Mar 18 - 11:02 PM

Luol Deng said his leg injury is still bothering him.

He is still in the starting lineup for tonight. This is just a heads up for his fantasy owners because he could wind up sitting a game in the future.
Mar 16 - 7:26 PM

Luol Deng will play Friday vs. the Raptors.

Deng admitted to being pretty banged up during a recent interview, but he's a warrior and will fight through the pain. Go ahead and get him active.
Mar 13 - 11:55 AM

Luol Deng said he was pretty banged up, but he expects to play Friday vs. the Raptors.

"I'm gonna play no matter what, if I'm cleared," said Deng. Deng played 37 minutes during his last outing, and he's known to fight through the various nicks and bruises throughout the season, so we expect him to play Friday. He has however been struggling with his shot through the month of March, shooting just 36.6 percent from the field to go with averages of 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 three-pointer per game. He's still worth starting in most leagues despite the poor shooting.
Mar 12 - 4:01 PM

Luol Deng played 33 minutes against the Celtics on Monday with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

He returned from a two-game absence due to a thigh bruise. Deng didn't look 100 percent and he should be a little better his next time out on Wednesday. He wasn't playing well before his injury, but had a decent February with 35.2 minutes per game. In that month, he averaged 15.7 points, 5.2 boards, 0.7 steals and 1.2 treys. That's worth starting in most leagues.
Mar 9 - 11:51 PM

Luol Deng will start against the Celtics on Monday.

This is a little bit of a surprise after missing the last two games with a thigh bruise. Deng was playing well before his injury and should get plenty of minutes as the stretch four. Henry Walker will start, but his upside isn't as high. Expect to see a little less out of Michael Beasley.
Mar 9 - 7:22 PM

Luol Deng (thigh) is a game-time decision for Monday vs. Boston.

Deng did not play on Saturday, so it's up in the air whether or not he'll be able to return in this one. If he can't, expect Henry Walker and Michael Beasley to each earn more minutes than usual.
Mar 9 - 11:09 AM

Luol Deng (thigh) will not play against the Kings on Saturday.

He is going to miss time here and this will be his second DNP in a row. The Heat have a slew of players as game-time calls, so they might be very thin yet again. Expect to see Henry Walker and Michael Beasley to get most of the minutes at forward.
Mar 7 - 5:58 PM

Luol Deng (thigh) is questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Kings.

Deng is dealing with a deep thigh bruise that kept him out of Friday's game vs. the Wizards, and with Goran Dragic (back) and Dwyane Wade (hip) also questionable, the Heat are in some serious trouble vs. the Kings. If Deng can't play, James Ennis and Michael Beasley will both be in line for extra minutes. It should be noted that Beasley actually played the entire fourth quarter on Friday and scored all 13 of his points during that time, though he wasn't able to put up the final shot of the game in time to rescue the Heat.
Mar 7 - 1:48 PM

Luol Deng (thigh) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Wizards.

Miami is going to be hurting for healthy bodies in this one with both Dwyane Wade (hip) and Deng out. Goran Dragic will likely run the show on offense, and if there were ever a time for Michael Beasley to step up as a scorer, this would be it. Henry Walker will step into the starting lineup, while James Ennis and Beasley will have the opportunity to pick up some extended minutes tonight. Both Walker and Beasley are worth a look in daily leagues.

Luol Deng (thigh) is doubtful to play against the Wizards on Friday.

The Heat are really in trouble here. Michael Beasley will get one more chance to show what he can do before his 10-day is up, but Henry Walker is the better bet for playing time. Plus, the Heat will have to give more minutes to Udonis Haslem with the Heat having an inability to play stretch fours because they're so thin. If you're feeling saucy, Walker could hit a bunch of treys tonight. Plus, Tyler Johnson may get more minutes in three-guard lineups, too.
