Luol Deng erupted for a game-high 26 points with eight rebounds, three assists, one block and zero assists on Sunday, making 10-of-14 shots with two 3-pointers.
He struggled with a wrist injury over the past week but it's clearly no longer an issue, as he torched Gerald Henderson and the Hornets in 38 minutes tonight. This is his second offensive eruption of the season but it should be noted that Dwyane Wade and Norris Cole were both sidelined, which thrust Deng into a bigger role. Nov 23 - 8:44 PM

Luol Deng (wrist) returned from a one-game absence with a 13-point effort against the Clippers on Thursday, adding five rebounds and no turnovers in 28 minutes.

He was fairly aggressive on the glass and wasn't playing like he was hurt. Deng did only take one shot in the paint and didn't attack much with the ball in his hands, but that's not really his style. He's really failing to meet expectations thus far, but should be better than this on most nights.
Nov 20 - 10:46 PM

Luol Deng will start Thursday vs. the Clippers, and Danny Granger will head to the bench.

Deng will have some increased opportunity tonight with Dwyane Wade (hamstring) sidelined, so get him active. Deng is averaging 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers on the year, and has a favorable matchup vs. the Clippers.
Nov 20 - 6:26 PM

Luol Deng (wrist) went through shootaround on Thursday despite being listed as doubtful to play.

Deng sat out Monday's game and his status vs. the Clippers may not be determined until pre-game warmups. James Ennis and Danny Granger will be asked to pick up the slack if Deng misses his second straight game.
Nov 20 - 1:02 PM

Luol Deng (wrist) is doubtful to face the Clippers on Thursday.

He did not play on Monday after playing through his injury on Sunday. Deng has racked up a slew of injuries in the past two seasons after leading the NBA in minutes in 2010-11, so he might need to miss multiple games here. James Ennis will get some extra run and is worth a look as a plug-and-play guy on a two-game night.
Nov 19 - 4:41 PM

Luol Deng (wrist) was a limited participant in Miami's practice on Wednesday, and should be considered questionable for Thursday's game.

He suffered the injury on Sunday but managed to play through the pain, but he ended up sitting out on Monday against the Nets. If Deng can't suit up, Danny Granger and James Ennis will carry the load for the Heat, with Ennis being the better option for daily leagues. We will update Deng's status as soon as we know more.
Nov 19 - 12:50 PM

Luol Deng (wrist) is not starting on Monday night and will not play against the Nets.

The Heat reporters are now confirming Deng is out. He suffered the injury on Sunday and was able to play through it and it's unclear how much time he'll miss. Fantasy owners will want to bench him and consider him questionable for Thursday against the Clippers. James Ennis is worth a look as a short-term guy while Danny Granger gets the start.
Nov 17 - 7:01 PM

Luol Deng (wrist) is a game-time decision on Monday against the Nets.

He has wrist soreness and likely sustained this injury on Sunday night, scoring 10 points in 37 minutes. If Deng can't go, James Ennis will likely get minutes in the 30s with Dwyane Wade (hamstring) already ruled out.
Nov 17 - 6:10 PM

Luol Deng, who had a season-high 30 on Sunday, hit just 2-of-10 shots for five points, seven boards, two steals and a block on Wednesday.

Deng's been a bit hit-or-miss thus far, but was playing well coming into this one. He really struggled tonight, but the minutes are going to be there and he should be pretty reliable on most nights.
Nov 12 - 10:57 PM

Luol Deng exploded for a season-high 30 points vs. the Mavericks on Sunday, knocking down 13-of-19 field goals with four 3-pointers, five rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Deng didn't even commit a turnover in 37 minutes, rounding out his finest game in recent memory. He hadn't scored 30+ points in a game since Dec. 2, 2013, and we're not expecting a repeat performance any time soon, but he's clearly found his footing in Miami's offense. He should settle into top-100 value on the season, and the buy-low window just slammed shut.
Nov 9 - 10:23 PM

Luol Deng didn't need to miss any games from an arm injury, finishing with nine points, three rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes against the Hornets on Wednesday.

He's struggling with his 3-pointers and is just 2-of-10 (20 percent) from deep on the season. Deng hasn't done much else besides score, but he should improve as he adepts to playing with his new teammates. He doesn't offer much upside, though.
Nov 5 - 10:04 PM

Luol Deng (arm) is in the lineup against the Hornets on Wednesday.

He hit a nerve against the Rockets and it sounds minor. Deng was questionable for the game today, but an arm injury like this one shouldn't affect his playing time. The Hornets have been attacked by small forwards and have allowed a usage rate of 22.9 to that position so far this season. Start Deng like you normally would.
Nov 5 - 5:42 PM

Luol Deng (arm) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Charlotte.

This injury comes out of nowhere, but we will definitely monitor this situation closely. According to coach Spoelstra, "He got whacked on the arm and you could see ...he just wasn’t quite the same." If Deng can't go Wednesday, James Ennis will be the main beneficiary along with Danny Granger (hamstring) if he is cleared to play. stay tuned for an update on Deng.
Nov 5 - 9:12 AM

Luol Deng feels he's adjusting well to understanding Miami's offense.

"I really think that [my understanding of the offense] will get better as the season goes on," said Deng. "I’m just starting to play the game and not think too much... You’re at your best when you’re just reacting." Deng's scoring numbers have increased with each game this season, and he looks like he'll do well as Miami's third option on offense. He's currently averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 57.6 percent from the field. Health will always be a concern with Deng, but as long as he's on the court, he's a must-start player.
Nov 4 - 3:19 PM

Luol Deng managed to score 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting on Sunday, and also added three rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 37 minutes.

He had a solid game Sunday, and it didn't look like his back gave him any problems at all, as he was able to play 37 minutes. As long as Deng stays healthy, keep him plugged into your lineups confidently.
