Luol Deng will not play on Tuesday due to a sprained right wrist and will be out indefinitely.
This came out of nowhere, but he apparently suffered the injury two days ago and he was sporting a huge wrap on his wrist prior to being ruled out. Look for Brandon Ingram to get some extra run in his absence, while Thomas Robinson could also see a small boost. Deng has a history of wrist problems so it will be interesting to see how long this one keeps him out. Jan 17 - 9:27 PM

Date:

Luol Deng returned from a rest day on Sunday with two points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal, making 1-of-6 shots in a team-high 36 minutes of action.

Deng has had some nice stretches for the Lakers this year, but his rest-of-season outlook is shaky at best. As a 13-year veteran on a team that should increasingly emphasize player development down the stretch, Deng is a borderline cut in 12-team leagues.
Jan 16 - 12:37 AM

Luol Deng (rest) will not play on Saturday against the Clippers.

It's just rest for the veteran on the front end of a back-to-back set. Deng has been consistently getting around 30 minutes before the Lakers were blown out on Thursday, but he'll likely see fewer minutes as the season goes on. He's still worth owning. For today, Brandon Ingram should be sliding into the first unit while there are more three-guard lineups today -- the Clippers should also go small a ton. Julius Randle also gets a slight bump today.
Jan 14 - 2:14 PM

Luol Deng scored three points with one rebound, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes during a 134-94 loss to the Spurs on Thursday.

This game should basically be thrown out for everyone except Julius Randle. Deng almost certainly has seen his peak pass this season, but he has played 30.3 minutes per game in his previous three games, so his fantasy value is still alive and well.
Jan 12 - 11:38 PM

Luol Deng (right biceps tendinitis) scored 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting in 31 minutes on Sunday.

Deng was on the injury report as 'probable' but there was never any doubt about his status. Deploy him as usual vs. the Blazers on Tuesday.
Jan 9 - 1:42 AM

Luol Deng (biceps) is probable to play against the Magic on Sunday.

He was terrific on Friday with 19 points and there is no word of a setback, so Deng should be all set for the late game. The Lakers are only three games out of the eighth seed, which is a big reason Deng's minutes haven't dropped. He should be owned in standard leagues.
Jan 7 - 4:37 PM

Luol Deng (biceps) returned from a one-game absence and scored 19 points in Friday's win over the Heat.

Performances like this are why the "revenge game" narrative exists. Deng grabbed 14 rebounds with two assists and three triples, and he shot 8-of-12 from the field in 30 minutes against his former team. Deng scored a combined 17 points in his previous four games, so most fantasy owners can leave him on the wire despite the fact that he has played 30 or more minutes in 12 straight games.
Jan 7 - 1:32 AM

Luol Deng (biceps) will start on Friday vs. Miami.

This means his biceps only forced him to miss one game. Deng will be looking for some revenge against his former team tonight and it's worth noting that he averaged 32.4 minutes in the five games before his injury. His return is good news for a Lakers team that might be missing Julius Randle (finger). Brandon Ingram loses value with this report and will return to the bench.
Jan 6 - 8:52 PM

Luol Deng (biceps) is questionable for Friday's game vs. Miami.

Deng missed his first game of the season on Thursday. Brandon Ingram started in his place and scored 11 points in 37 minutes. We will have to wait for an update closer to game time regarding the Deng's status for Friday night.
Jan 6 - 1:52 PM

Luol Deng (biceps) is out against the Blazers on Thursday.

The Lakers have not announced who will start in his place. It could be Brandon Ingram to match up with Moe Harkless or the Lakers could go with another guard. Deng has played really well and this is just tendinitis, so his owners should hold him.
Jan 5 - 9:07 PM

Luol Deng (biceps) did not participate in the morning shootaround.

He said he's feeling better, but his status for Thursday's game vs. Portland is up in the air. Deng has been averaging 32.4 minutes over his last five games, so if he misses this game that would create a lot of opportunity for guys like Brandon Ingram and Thomas Robinson.
Jan 5 - 2:01 PM

Luol Deng (right biceps tendinitis) did not practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game in Portland.

He didn't appear to get hurt on Tuesday night in his 31 minutes, so this may be a wear-and-tear issue for the 31-year-old Deng. He did have a minor nerve issue with his arm in 2014, but he didn't miss time. In other words, this is a new issue for the oft-injured Deng. He's played well, so his owners should hold him. If he's out, Brandon Ingram, Thomas Robinson and the guards should get a few extra minutes.
Jan 4 - 2:22 PM

Luol Deng finished Sunday's home loss to the Raptors with two points on 1-of-6 shooting, three rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes of action.

Luol Deng finished Sunday's home loss to the Raptors with two points on 1-of-6 shooting, three rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes of action. The veteran was a sneaky value lately for the past few weeks, but he's cooled off in L.A.'s past three games while averaging 4.7 points on combined 6-of-20 shooting. His minutes are hovering in the low-30s and they're unlikely to dip until Larry Nance (knee) returns, so despite the slump Deng is worth a look for opportunistic, short-term value.
Jan 2 - 12:43 AM

Luol Deng played 34 minutes, but hit just 1-of-4 shots for three points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in Thursday's 101-89 loss to Dallas.

Deng has been pretty hot all month but this was his lowest-scoring game since Dec. 7. He also had just nine points in his previous game, but the minutes are still there. Let's just call this a slump and hope he breaks out of it on Sunday against the Raptors.
Fri, Dec 30, 2016 01:17:00 AM

Luol Deng double-doubled on Sunday with 13 points and 12 rebounds, adding two assists, two steals, two blocks and zero turnovers in 34 minutes of action.

"I just think I’m getting more comfortable with our offense," Deng said, explaining his strong play. "A lot of times at the beginning of the year, guys were kind of standing still. The way I play, I’m always moving, I like to move the ball. And I think we’ve shown at times how to play that way." Deng looks refreshed lately, to say the least, and he's an even more appealing fantasy option with Larry Nance (knee) out roughly four weeks.
