Luol Deng was dissatisfied with his role on the Heat at times this season.
"When I played [for] Scott Skiles [in Chicago], he didn’t want me shooting any threes," Deng said. "He wanted me close to the rim. My whole focus was the mid-range…. This year, [Erik Spoelstra] wanted me to take the corner threes more than I’ve done in the past…. Not having someone like Josh definitely hurts my game." Deng's role changed (frequently) due to all of the Heat injuries, and it's still unknown if he'll exercise his player option to return next season. Apr 20 - 10:51 AM

Luol Deng (rest, knee) is not likely to play against the 76ers on Wednesday.

There was some talk of Deng missing the rest of the season earlier this month, but the Heat gave him a chance to play in order to make a desperate attempt at the postseason. The Heat were knocked out last night, so now they’re in for a one-day tank. Deng’s season ends with averages of 14.0 points, 5.2 boards, 1.9 assists and 0.9 steals. It’ll be Tyler Johnson, Michael Beasley and James Ennis getting most of the minutes on the wing.
Apr 15 - 7:46 PM

Luol Deng isn't ready to decide on his future with the Miami Heat yet.

Deng has a $10.2 million player option for next season, but has not decided upon his next steps yet. "We’re talking about it early; I’m not thinking about it yet," he said on Monday. " I really don’t want to go there yet. When the season’s over and I sit down and relax, I can start thinking about that stuff." Deng is averaging 14.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 three-pointers in his first season with Miami and would again enter the 2015-16 season as a later-round fantasy player if he stays with the Heat.
Apr 14 - 9:14 AM

Luol Deng played 37 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday with 11 points, seven rebounds, one assist and no turnovers.

He is getting big minutes and gave all he could tonight. Deng just hasn't been himself in his last five, averaging 11.2 points, 7.6 boards, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 treys on 36.1 percent from the field. There's a decent chance he gets shut down, so feel free to cut him for someone else who benefits from a shut down.
Apr 11 - 10:25 PM

Luol Deng (knee) will play against the Raptors on Saturday.

He played 36 minutes on Thursday, but didn't have a great game with just eight points on 3-of-13 from the field. Deng should see big minutes again tonight and is worth starting in standard leagues. He could be a shut down candidate if the Heat are eliminated from playoff contention.
Apr 11 - 5:59 PM

Luol Deng (knee) is probable for Saturday's game vs. the Raptors.

Deng's knee has been struggling for a while, but it is a good sign that he was able to play 36 minutes vs. the Bulls on Thursday. With the Heat needing a win tonight, Deng should see as many minutes as he can handle and belongs in all active lineups.
Apr 11 - 2:07 PM

Luol Deng played 36 minutes against the Bulls on Thursday with eight points, eight boards, four assists, two steals and one block.

His knee injury didn't seem like a problem tonight. Deng was going after loose balls all night, but he just struggled shooting the ball with a 3-of-13 line from the field. Based on how the Heat have treated their injury report, Deng will be at least "probable" for Saturday.
Apr 9 - 10:46 PM

Luol Deng (knee) will play Thursday vs. the Bulls.

He was listed as probable earlier, so there was never really any doubt about him being in uniform tonight. He put up 21 points through 41 minutes of action on Tuesday, so go ahead and get him on your active roster.
Apr 9 - 6:46 PM

Luol Deng (knee) is probable to play against the Bulls on Thursday.

He played 41 minutes on Tuesday and scored 21 points against the Hornets. Deng was up in the air for the rest of the season, but the Heat seem committed to making a playoff run. Deng should be ready to go against one of his former teams.
Apr 8 - 2:40 PM

Luol Deng (knee) looked surprisingly spry vs. the Hornets, scoring 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting with one 3-pointer, six rebounds and one assist in 41 minutes of action.

There were whispers that Deng might have suffered a season-ending knee injury but he didn't even appear limited during Tuesday's must-win game. All signs point to Deng starting as usual vs. the Bulls on Thursday, so it's once again safe to part ways with James Ennis (nine points, five rebounds in 26 minutes).
Apr 7 - 10:34 PM

Luol Deng (knee) will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game vs. Charlotte.

He went from possibly done for the season on Sunday, to in the starting lineup on Tuesday. Those that made of a speculative add of James Ennis under the assumption that Deng was done should probably look elsewhere for production. There's been no mention of a minutes restriction for Deng, so go ahead and get him active.
Apr 7 - 6:57 PM

Luol Deng (knee) is expected to play Tuesday vs. the Hornets.

With Deng likely to give it a go tonight, James Ennis and Henry Walker aren't nearly as attractive as they once were. However, nothing is official just yet, so owners should check back for another update closer to tip-off. Stay tuned.
Apr 7 - 6:03 PM

Luol Deng (knee) is being considered questionable for Tuesday against the Hornets.

It's more than surprising to see the designation considering there was fear Deng's season could be over, and we have to think he's closer to doubtful for this particular game. If Deng does sit, James Ennis and Henry Walker could be looking at a lot of run with Michael Beasley (knee) also questionable for Tuesday.

Luol Deng will have an MRI on his left knee on Monday and there is some belief that his season could be over.

The Heat are now a full game behind the Celtics for the No. 8 seed and they may start shifting their focus to the upcoming draft lottery. Deng hasn't looked right for quite some time and is reportedly dealing with a lot of swelling and lingering pain. Deng's owners should stand pat until we get the results of the MRI on Monday, but this certainly doesn't sound good. With Michael Beasley also suffering a knee injury on Sunday, James Ennis is worth a speculative add in deeper leagues.
Apr 5 - 9:04 PM

Luol Deng fell flat with three points on 1-of-8 shooting during Sunday's road loss, which dropped the Heat a full game behind Boston for the No. 8 seed.

The Heat were already without Chris Andersen and Hassan Whiteside tonight and they couldn't withstand a lousy game from Deng, who may not be 100 percent recovered from his recent knee injury. Miami's playoff hopes are still very much alive, making a DNP very unlikely, and Deng should bounce back in a home game vs. Charlotte on Tuesday.
