The Blazers signed three players on Wednesday -- forward Luke Jackson, rookie center Steven Hill and rookie guard Jamaal Tatum.

The Blazers have 17 players entering training camp so, although details were not given, all three contracts are probably non-guaranteed. This is Jackson's fifth team in his four seasons in the league -- last year he averaged career-highs of 5.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 16.3 minutes with the Heat.

A Portland radio station announced on Wednesday that Luke Jackson will be added to the Blazers preseason roster.

If it becomes official, Jackson will be the 15th and final player added to the preseason team. He is a local favorite, having played for Oregon in college, but is a longshot to make the team.

The Heat requested waivers on Luke Jackson in order to make room for Marcus Banks.

Jackson is likely to finish his career with ever offering fantasy value.

Luke Jackson missed Monday's game with the flu.

As bad as the Heat were tonight, Jackson may have been the team's leading scorer had he played.

Luke Jackson had 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and three 3-pointers on 4-of-8 shooting in a rare NBA start on Wednesday for the Lakers.

Jackson could go on a nice run here with Udonis Haslem sidelined, so keep your eye on him in deep leagues. Dorell Wright had 12 points and eight rebounds for the injury-depleted Heat, and deserves a look from fantasy owners as well.

Luke Jackson hit four threes on his way to 14 points in Tuesday's loss.

At least something went right for the Heat tonight, but there's little chance of Walton being worth owning in your league this season.

Pat Riley said Luke Jackson, a 6-6 swingman, could be an option at point guard if starter Jason Williams (knee) and backups Chris Quinn (ankle) and Smush Parker (conduct violation) remain limited or inactive.

Jackson moved to point guard for several minutes late in Saturday's loss to the Wizards, when he had 14 points, three assists, two turnovers and a steal in 29 minutes. ''I've always felt he could do some things -- he's a good ballhandler,'' Riley said. ``Once we get some practice time, we can put him out there as a big point guard.'' Dwyane Wade has been handling most of the point guard duties lately.

Luke Jackson, acquired by the Heat on Wednesday, played some meaningful minutes in Thursday's game and finished with four points, three rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes.

Jackson isn't likely to turn any heads in fantasy leagues, but it looks like he already has a spot in the Heat rotation. Dorell Wright only played 11 minutes tonight, and we hope the young Heat wingmen don't all split minutes and remain unplayable.

The Heat signed G/F Luke Jackson on Wednesday after waiving Penny Hardaway.

Jackson was taken by the Cavaliers with the 10th overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft out of Oregon, but he's played just 59 games after dealing with multiple back issues. The Raptors cut him this year in favor of keeping Jamario Moon, and based on the fact that Jackson has never really done much in an NBA game, we're not expecting any miracles. He did score 30 for the Raptors on the final day of the regular season last year, but that was by far his best game ever. If nothing else, he might stunt the growth of Dorell Wright and Daequan Cook.

Luke Jackson is scheduled for a workout in Miami and could sign with the Heat as early as Sunday.

Jackson had been with Idaho of the D League after playing for the Cavs, Clippers and Raptors. With Dwyane Wade, Ricky Davis, Dorrell Wright and Daequan Cook, Miami already has several similar swingman-type players, so Jackson won't likely have any fantasy value. Joel Anthony or Earl Barron will likely be dropped to make room.

Just before the deadline to cut rosters to 15, the Raptors waived former lottery pick Luke Jackson, while holding onto 27-year-old rookie Jamario Moon.

Neither player has any fantasy value.

The Toronto Sun reports Luke Jackson better perform better in the final two preseason games or he'll likely be cut from the roster.

Oct. 29 is the deadline for NBA teams to cut rosters to 15 players - they currently have 16. In three preseason games, Jackson is averaging just 1.7 PPG in 9.1 minutes per game. Maceo Baston is also reportedly on the bubble to make the team.

Luke Jackson, who scored three points in 38 minutes in his last game, hit 12-of-16 shots and a couple threes to score a career-high 30 in Wednesday's loss to the Sixers.

Jackson is a former first-round pick and we all knew he had been capable of this kind of production at some point in his career, but he's been injured so much we've never really had a chance to see him play this well. This was clearly the best game Jackson has played since entering the NBA, as his previous career high was just 14 points.

With Chris Bosh, Anthony Parker and Joey Graham out of action on Tuesday, Luke Jackson started for the Raptors.

He played for 38 minutes, but finished with just three points, two steals and a block. Even if Jackson plays a bunch on Wednesday, he probably won't have any value.
