To the surprise of nobody, Andris Biedrins will exercise his $9 million player option and remain with the Warriors for the 2013/14 season.
Biedrins couldn't get a third of that on the open market right now as a free agent, so this was the definition of a no-brainer decision. Biedrins' agent confirmed that he'll pick up the option, and the Warriors are now stuck with him for another season. Still just 27 years old, next season will be the final year of an awful six-year, $54 million deal. May 24 - 9:10 AM

Andris Biedrins (back) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Blazers.

Biedrins didn't play against the Spurs on Monday, but you may have not even noticed unless you were watching the game. The Warriors should have amnestied Biedrins long ago, but we all remember the Charlie Bell saga all too well. Carl Landry could see big minutes with Andrew Bogut (ankle) questionable.
Apr 17 - 8:51 AM

Andris Biedrins (lower back tightness) is not playing against the Spurs on Monday.

He hasn't been very good at all this year, playing just 9.3 minutes per game for 0.5 points. Biedrins is also shooting 30.8 percent from the free throw line this season.
Apr 15 - 11:24 PM

Andris Biedrins was scoreless with eight rebounds and two assists on Saturday, playing 13 minutes in a fill-in start at center.

Andrew Bogut was rested for the second half of a back-to-back set which cleared the starting gig for Biedrins. There was some pregame confusion, as Festus Ezeli (11 minutes) was listed as the starting C, but neither guy is a fantasy asset.
Feb 9 - 11:44 PM

Andris Biedrins (right groin) sat out a second straight game on Sunday.

His absence has a minimal impact, shifting a few minutes at the end of the Warriors' frontcourt rotation, and in fantasy leagues it's irrelevant.
Jan 13 - 11:21 PM

Andris Biedrins (right groin) will not play against the Blazers on Friday.

He was limited in Thursday's practice and the Warriors weren't expected to risk him aggravating his injury. Biedrins is one of the worst free throw shooters in the game, making just 36 percent of his attempts this season. He has very little fantasy value in even the deepest of leagues.
Jan 11 - 9:36 PM

Andris Biedrins (right groin) was limited in Thursday's practice.

It's unclear if this will jeopardize his status vs. the Blazers on Friday, but his availability shouldn't impact fantasy owners. Biedrins has dealt with groin injuries in the past so presumably he'll be very cautious.
Jan 10 - 4:41 PM

Andris Biedrins had a season-high 12 rebounds in Wednesday's win at Utah and failed to score.

He's shooting 37.5 percent from the line this year, which is his best percentage in his last four seasons. He's more trouble than he's worth in all leagues.

Andris Biedrins was scoreless with seven rebounds and one block in a fill-in start for Golden State on Saturday.

Festus Ezeli is day-to-day with a bruised knee, but Biedrins was coming off four consecutive DNP-CDs, and he obviously isn't a fantasy option regardless. In addition to his other stats, Andris racked up four personal fouls in just 14 minutes.

Andris Biedrins (groin) is expected to play on Saturday.

Biedrins had reportedly fallen out of favor with Mark Jackson, but the Warriors will need the extra bodies with Andrew Bogut expected to sit out. Biedrins' woeful shooting from the line is not a fantasy option in standard leagues and this news also puts a dent in Festus Ezeli's prospects.

Andris Biedrins (groin) returned to practice on Monday.

Biedrins is an afterthought for the Warriors and should not be rostered in any fantasy league.
Tue, Oct 30, 2012 10:21:00 AM

Mark Jackson didn't mince words about his disappointment with Andris Biedrins (groin) this preseason.

"If you’re the only guy not here [for voluntary workouts] and then you get hurt, it’s unfortunate," Jackson said. "He’s just rehabbing and we’re going to keep it moving. We really don’t have time to wait for anybody." Festus Ezeli impressed the Warriors throughout training camp and has an iron grip on the backup center position, and he'll start as long as Andrew Bogut (ankle) is sidelined.
Sun, Oct 14, 2012 06:31:00 PM

Andris Biedrins is listed on the Warriors' injury report with a sore right groin.

After a dreadful performance on Sunday, this is more bad news for Biedrins. Ignore him in fantasy until he proves he still belongs in the NBA.
Tue, Oct 9, 2012 03:45:00 PM

Andris Biedrins did not play well in Sunday's exhibition loss to the Lakers, racking up four fouls and zero rebounds in 11 minutes.

This is just more of the same from Biedrins, and while the Warriors quietly hope he gets his head together this season, don't count on it happening. Find another center to take late in your draft.

Andris Biedrins and Festus Ezeli are competing for the backup center spot behind Andrew Bogut.

Early indications out of training camp had the rookie ahead of the inept Biedrins, but Mark Jackson said that "both of those guys are very good" and added he'd have "no problem" starting either one if Bogut (ankle) isn't ready on opening night. The coach referred to Ezeli as someone who is "still learning," but previously expressed his displeasure with Biedrins. No matter how you slice it, the W's are in trouble if Bogut has another injury-plagued season.
