Kris Humphries said he chose the Hawks in free agency because he wants to be back in the playoffs.
"It was some wait and see. Obviously, other teams were interested. But for me, I wasn’t going to play on a team that wasn’t a playoff team with a shot to win," Humphries said. "Being in the playoffs is so important, so fun, that that is one of the more important things when it comes down to making decisions." He signed a one-year, $4 million deal and could see minutes in teens off the bench. He won't have value while Dwight Howard is active. Jul 29 - 10:57 AM

Date:

Kris Humphries has agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal to return to the Hawks.

The Hawks do need some depth up front, especially given how often Dwight Howard has been hurt lately. Humphries played for three different teams last year, averaging just 15.3 minutes per game over 53 outings. He'll help out the second unit.
Jul 11 - 11:01 PM

Kris Humphries is drawing interest from the Celtics.

To be clear, the Celtics won't make any moves until they go after the big-name free agents such as Kevin Durant, Al Horford and Dwight Howard. If Humphries does sign with Boston, he would be looking at a limited role off the bench. According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, the Hawks, Nets, Wolves, Spurs and Hornets are also interested.
Jul 1 - 10:38 AM

Kris Humphries said he would like to return to the Hawks next season.

"Of course," Humphries said. "It’s been a great experience for me after being traded and ending up here. Coach [Mike Budenholzer] really wanted me here. Being able to get here and have this experience is great." Humphries will continue to work on his 3-point shot this summer, but the free agent likely won't be a fantasy asset if he remains in Atlanta because he only averaged 14.0 minutes for the Hawks this season.
May 13 - 10:10 AM

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said that he expects to use Kris Humphries in the series against the Cavaliers.

"I think we’ll need Kris in this series," Budenholzer said. "I can see us needing Kris and [Mike Muscala] and everybody. I think Kris is always ready. He’s anxious. He’s let me know he is ready to go." Humphries only made one appearance in round one vs. Boston, but Budenholzer may need Humphries for his rebounding ability because Tristan Thompson is a handful on the glass for the Cavs. To be clear, he likely won't see enough minutes to make an impact in fantasy.
May 1 - 9:26 AM

Kris Humphries had nine points, four rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks in a 122-101 win vs. the Wizards on Wednesday.

Humphries wasn't the only Hawks player to heat up tonight -- Mike Scott scored 10 points with seven boards and a pair of 3-pointers, Tim Hardaway chipped in 14 points in 25 minutes, and Paul Millsap had another stat-stuffing game with 17 points, nine boards, six dimes and three steals. In spite of his solid play tonight, Humphries shouldn't budge from the waiver wire.
Mar 23 - 10:16 PM

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer hasn't decided what Kris Humphries' role will be moving forward.

"It’s hard to say," Budenholzer said. "We definitely want to give him a good opportunity to get comfortable and a familiarity with his teammates, what we do defensively, what we do offensively. Playing him and Mike Scott off the bench as the backup bigs, I think we are going to give that a look. We’ll see how it goes." Humphries had 14 points, eight boards, one 3-pointer, one steal and one block in 22 minutes vs. the Lakers on Friday, but the game was a blowout and the Lakers' interior defense is very weak. Unless he posts another solid line, leave Humphries on the wire.
Mar 5 - 11:15 AM

Kris Humphries made his Hawks debut on Friday, tallying 14 points, eight boards, one 3-pointer, one steal, one block and one turnover through 22 minutes of action.

Humphries was the first big off the bench for Atlanta, and while he was productive, it's tough to take away too much from tonight's 106-77 blowout victory. Consistency is often an issue for Humphries, so we'll need to see him do this again before recommending him as an add in most settings.
Mar 5 - 2:38 AM

Kris Humphries has officially signed for the Atlanta Hawks.

Humphires will give the Hawks another veteran presence off the bench, and it's possible that he could take some minutes away from both Mike Scott and Mike Muscala. To be clear, Humphries won't have much fantasy value as long as Paul Millsap and Al Horford stay healthy. He will be available to play vs. the Warriors on Tuesday, but it's unclear if he will see minutes right away.
Mar 1 - 7:51 PM

Kris Humphries has reportedly cleared waivers, and is set to join the Hawks.

Humphries has committed to signing with the Hawks, so him joining the team is just a formality at this point. While he could be in uniform for Tuesday's game against the Warriors, there are no guarantees he will actually take the court tonight, so he can safely remain on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues as he won't be anything more than a reserve in Atlanta.
Mar 1 - 5:45 PM

Kris Humphries has committed to signing with the Hawks, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Humphries is expected to clear waivers on Tuesday, at which point he will sign in Atlanta on a minimum deal. After losing Tiago Splitter (hip surgery) for the season, The Hump will provide depth behind fantasy studs Paul Millsap and Al Horford.
Feb 29 - 9:30 AM

The Suns have officially waived Kris Humphries.

Humphries will reportedly sign with the Hawks upon clearing waivers, which isn't a destination that will allow him to produce much value at all in fantasy hoops. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 28 - 5:15 PM

The Suns are expected to finalize a buyout agreement with Kris Humphries on Sunday.

Humphries managed 7.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in four games with Phoenix. With the Suns now committed to a youth movement, his services were no longer needed. The Hawks remain the favorites to land Humphries once he becomes available.
Feb 28 - 11:10 AM

The Suns are in advanced talks with Kris Humphries on a buyout agreement.

He is warming up to play against the Grizzlies on Saturday, but it remains to be seen how much he will play. For what it's worth, Alen Len is replacing him in the starting lineup. According to the report, the Hawks will be the favorites to land Humphries if/when he is bought out.
Feb 27 - 9:06 PM

Kris Humphries did not score in 11 minutes against the Nets on Thursday, adding 10 rebounds, one assist and three turnovers.

He was 0-of-9 from the field and did not start the second half. Humphries loses most of his fantasy appeal while the Suns are healthy at center, so he's more of a handcuff in deep leagues.
