Heat sign G/F Dorell Wright.
Wright had a hold-up with getting FIBA clearance, but has now officially signed with the Heat. He'll serve as the last man on the Heat's playoff roster and there is a good chance he won't see any playing time in the postseason. Apr 12 - 12:00 PM

Dorrell Wright is planning to sign with the Heat, but is waiting for clearance from FIBA.

While there are delays with FIBA, it looks like Wright's signing with the Heat is imminent as he's already with the team. Wright will be the 15th player on the Heat's roster and is unlikely to see much (if any) playing time during the postseason.

Dorell Wright will sign with the Heat.

There are still several hurdles for Wright to get on the active roster. Wright played 11 NBA season, including his first six with the Heat. He will be the 15th player on the roster and will likely just be an insurance policy in the postseason.
Apr 11 - 2:52 PM

Dorrell Wright is set to meet with the Miami Heat and could sign with the team as soon as this weekend.

After spending most of the season in China, Wright could formalize a deal with the Heat as soon as Sunday, according to league sources. Wright would provide the Heat with another veteran option off the bench, but he can be ignored in fantasy leagues with such little time left in the regular season.

Dorell Wright has been receiving interest from NBA teams.

Wright is available to sign with NBA teams after his season in China recently ended, but he's waiting for the right opportunity. "I have [received interest from NBA teams], but I’ve told my agent that I really don’t want to know anything until something is serious and set in stone," Wright said. While Wright could help bolster a playoff contender's bench, he's not worth stashing in fantasy leagues.
Mar 8 - 9:03 AM

Dorell Wright's season in China has ended and a few NBA teams are expected to give him a look.

He played 48 games for the Blazers during the 2014-15 season with averages of 4.6 points and 2.3 boards, and he would likely be looking at a limited bench role if he's picked up by an NBA team. He's not worth stashing in fantasy leagues.
Mar 1 - 12:07 PM

The Heat are reportedly interested in free agent forward Dorell Wright.

Wright has been playing in China and will be available to come to the NBA in mid-February, but the same report suggested that other teams have expressed more interest. Unless Wright landed in an ideal situation, he would likely be looking at a limited role off the bench. He's not on the fantasy radar.
Jan 22 - 9:13 AM

Dorell Wright said he's looking forward to playing in China.

Wright confirmed on Monday that he's accepted a one-year contract with the Chongqing Dragons and said he's looking forward to his time in China. "I’m really looking forward to it," Wrightsaid. "I’m going to be able to go play and really contribute and try to help a team win. If I have to start my career and be over there like a [Stephon Marbury], who paved the way for us American players and NBA players, I’m all for that." While the 29-year-old may find an avenue back to the NBA, he only averaged 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 116 games with the Trail Blazers so fantasy owners can feel free to move on from Wright.

Dorell Wright will sign in China with the Chongqing Dragons for next season.

The Blazers were never really close to signing Wright and perhaps the closest team was the Miami Heat. Wright is certainly better than some players that will make an NBA roster, but chances are he will make more money overseas. Interestingly, his younger brother, Delon, was drafted by the Raptors this year and was looking forward to playing against Dorell.

Dorell Wright is reportedly considering signing in China.

Wright, somewhat surprisingly, has struggled to attract interest in free agency, and it's possible he may go overseas for a more lucrative contract as a result. The Heat, Clippers and Lakers have all been linked to Wright, but nothing has materialized at this point.

The Heat have been in talks with free agent forward Dorell Wright, but they haven't made a contract offer yet.

Wright has also drawn some interest from other NBA teams, but he is reportedly unlikely to return to the Blazers. The Heat's roster is full and they would have to unload a player such as James Ennis to make a deal work, so we will be watching this story closely. Wright averaged 4.6 points in 12.4 minutes per game last season, and he wouldn't have more than a limited role if he did land in Miami.

Dorell Wright is reportedly unlikely to return to Portland as an unrestricted free agent.

Wright is reportedly interested in joining on of the teams in Los Angeles, and with the Clippers in some serious need of help at the small forward position, they could shift their focus to Wright if they're unable to land Paul Pierce during free agency. Wright has been a negligible factor in fantasy hoops for about three seasons now, and a new uniform won't change that.

Dorell Wright (hand) was going through solo workouts on Wednesday.

He had surgery two months ago and apparently has rehabbed enough to get back on the court. Wright is an unrestricted free agent this summer and will likely fetch a veteran minimum deal.

Dorell Wright (left hand fracture) is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks of action, but the fracture will not require surgery.

This is the news we were expecting on Wright, and with him set to miss the remainder of the regular season, it's safe to drop him in all formats. C.J. McCollum, Allen Crabbe, and Alonzo Gee should pick up some extra minutes with Wright out, but none of those guys are likely to do enough to matter in most leagues.

Dorell Wright (hand) will not play against the Lakers on Friday.

He will be re-evaluated in Los Angeles to determine treatment and a possible prognosis. Generally, it takes 4-6 weeks for a broken metacarpal to heal, but it's possible Wright makes it back sooner. If he's out, expect C.J. McCollum and Allen Crabbe to benefit.
