Dorell Wright (illness) made his only shot attempt on Sunday, a 3-pointer, finishing with three points and no other stats to his credit in three minutes of action.
Wright has now played a total of 52 minutes in eight appearances this season, so his availability off Portland's bench isn't of any concern for fantasy owners. Dec 7 - 10:49 PM

Dorell Wright (illness) is probable for Sunday's game against the Knicks.

He was actually in danger of missing Portland's entire road trip, so it is great to see him with the team. He isn't in the rotation right now, and he will likely serve as emergency depth for the time being. You can safely ignore Wright in almost all leagues.
Dec 7 - 10:43 AM

Dorell Wright (illness) will make the trip for Sunday's game against the Knicks, and is probable to play.

He is dealing with an upper respiratory illness, and was sent home from practice on Friday. Regardless, Wright is not in the rotation and won't be relevant unless an injury strikes Nicolas Batum or LaMarcus Aldridge. You can ignore Wright in most leagues.
Dec 6 - 1:10 PM

Dorell Wright (illness) was sent home from practice on Friday.

He missed Thursday and he's up in the air for Sunday. Wright is not in the rotation anyway, so there's no need to add him while Nicolas Batum and LaMarcus Aldridge are healthy.
Dec 5 - 3:33 PM

Dorell Wright (illness) will not play on Thursday.

He is not in the rotation anyway, so the Blazers will be fine without him especially with Will Barton (illness) back. Wright can be ignored in almost all formats right now.
Dec 4 - 9:12 PM

Dorell Wright will start in place of Nicolas Batum (knee) on Tuesday.

Wright will get the start on Tuesday, but he's not a guy prone to big stat lines. As a starter last season he averaged 8.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 three-pointers, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks. So owners using him as a plug-and-play option should temper their expectations.
Nov 11 - 2:12 PM

Dorell Wright scored eight points with one 3-pointer and one steal in 12 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's road victory.

Terry Stotts doled out playing time more like he would in a regular season game, giving 29+ minutes to all of his starters, and his heavy reliance on the starting-five leaves precious little upside for Wright. Just keep him in mind if Nicolas Batum gets injured.
Oct 22 - 12:38 AM

Dorell Wright played just 18 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's Game 2 win, but was highly effective with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, three blocks and three 3-pointers.

That was what we were looking for a few weeks ago when Wright was filling in for Aldridge late in the regular season, but he was never nearly this good. If you took a flier on him in a daily money league, he might have been a lifesaver. Just don't expect him to do it again anytime soon.
Apr 24 - 12:59 AM

Dorell Wright did not score on his two shots in 10 minutes against the Hawks on Thursday.

He was obviously going to lose some playing time and shots with LaMarcus Aldridge back in the lineup, but it was not expected to be this large of a decrease. Fantasy owners should have already moved on from Wright.
Mar 27 - 10:07 PM

Dorell Wright played 26 minutes in another start for Portland on Tuesday, finishing with eight points, eight rebounds, one assist and two turnovers.

He knocked down two 3-pointers, but made only 3-of-11 shots and didn't have any steals or blocks. LaMarcus Aldridge (back) is questionable to return for Thursday's game, and once he's healthy Wright will shift to a backup-PF role with negligible fantasy appeal.
Mar 25 - 9:29 PM

Dorell Wright logged just 19 minutes in Monday's loss to the Heat, scoring seven points on 2-of-7 shooting (2-of-6 from deep) with three rebounds, one assist and no steals or blocks.

This isn't killing owners that took the plunge for the five-game week but generally speaking it's not paying the bills. Once the schedule is no longer a factor in his favor, he'll need to quickly pick up the pace in order to stay on 12-14 team rosters, assuming LaMarcus Aldridge is still out.
Mar 25 - 12:21 AM

Dorell Wright scored a season-high 17 points vs. the Bobcats on Saturday to go with six boards and no turnovers in 24 minutes.

He didn't make any 3-pointers tonight and made all five shots from the free throw line. Wright has been in the teens in four of his last five games, averaging 12.2 points, 5.2 boards, 0.6 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.0 triples in that span. He's holding some nice short-term value while LaMarcus Aldridge (back) is out.
Mar 22 - 9:16 PM

Dorell Wright matched his season-high 15 points vs. the Wizards on Thursday with seven boards, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in just 20 minutes.

He was used a top tonight with 11 shots in his limited playing time. Wright was going to the rim and wasn't too shabby on the defensive end either. LaMarcus Aldridge (back) could be back soon, so if Wright is still floating around on the wire, you probably missed your window.
Mar 21 - 1:06 AM

Blazers coach Terry Stotts plans to use Dorell Wright as a backup PF once LaMarcus Aldridge (back) returns to action.

"We have to look at [Wright] as the backup [power forward], especially with Joel Freeland being out, because we are able to change the pace of play," Stotts said. "His presence on the court whether he makes a shot or not allows other opportunities for the guys on the court offensively." Wright has played under 20 minutes in each of the past two games, however, so even with Aldridge out he's tough to use in standard fantasy leagues.

Mar 19 - 10:17 AM

Dorell Wright missed all eight of his shots (seven of them 3-pointer attempts) and had one point, five rebounds, a steal and a block in Tuesday's win.

He'll likely continue to start as long as LaMarcus Aldridge is out with his back injury, making him worth holding in advance of next week's five-game schedule.
