Jameer Nelson (ankle) is not expected to play on Wednesday.
Nelson has been sidelined since the end of March and will likely wind up missing the final regular season game. Beno Udrih, who has been an excellent start since Nelson went down, will finish the season on a strong note and a critical waiver wire pickup. Apr 17 - 12:14 PM

Date:

Jameer Nelson (ankle) will not play on Monday vs. Chicago.

Nelson has been sidelined since March 30 and it's a very real possibility his season is over with just one game remaining after Monday. Beno Udrih will continue to play heavy minutes as the starting point guard and is a must-own player.
Apr 15 - 11:18 AM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) did not attend shootaround and will not play Saturday night.

Nelson hasn't played since injuring the ankle March 29. The Magic have just two games left after Saturday night, but at this point, it would be pretty surprising if he played again this season. Beno Udrih will continue to start as long as Nelson sits.
Apr 13 - 11:26 AM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) will not play Wednesday night against the Bucks.

Nelson was incredibly doubtful to play so it's to no one's surprise he was officially ruled out before tip-off. Considering the lack of a timetable and the minimal amount of games left for Orlando, it's certainly possible Nelson will sit the rest of the season. Beno Udrih will get the start again Wednesday night.

Apr 10 - 6:26 PM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) did not go through shootaround on Wednesday and "almost certainly" will not play vs. Milwaukee.

Nelson has missed five straight and another absence would make it his sixth. He's without a timetable to return, meaning Beno Udrih, who is averaging 18.2 points, 7.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 3-pointers while starting at point guard for Orlando, will likely draw another start and play heavy minutes.
Apr 10 - 11:18 AM

Jameer Nelson (ankle), who has missed five straight games, is without a timetable to return.

"Jameer is day-to-day for us," Jacque Vaughn said. Nelson will be evaluated on a daily basis, but it's not clear how much more time he might be forced to miss. Beno Udrih has been rolling in Nelson's absence with averages of 18.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 3-pointers as a starter, so as long as Nelson is out, Udrih is a must-start player in every format.
Apr 9 - 9:56 AM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) won't play on Sunday vs. the Cavaliers.

Nelson sat out Friday's game and will likely need to practice before returning, so this is a rather predictable update. Beno Udrih has been excellent while filling in as the starting PG, and he's worth deploying in all formats if you need points, 3-pointers, assists and steals.
Apr 7 - 11:00 AM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) has been ruled out of Friday's game against the Bulls.

It's a tough one to digest for owners who were relying on Nelson after he said he could return on Friday. Beno Udrih, who is averaging 17 points, 3.7 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.3 triples over the last three games in place of Nelson, will get his fourth start of the year with Orlando.
Apr 5 - 12:13 PM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) confirmed that he could return to action as soon as Friday in Chicago.

"It's just lingering a little more," Nelson said on Wednesday. "It's a small thing, but I still have pain. So you've got to be smart." Beno Udrih has been terrific while filling in as the starting PG, but his value will take a major hit once Nelson returns to the court. Check back on Thursday for the latest.

Apr 3 - 11:19 PM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) will "get some shots up" on Thursday and he may return to action vs. the Bulls on Friday.

Credit Nelson for fighting to return even though the Magic are heading toward an early summer. His return will be a major blow to both Beno Udrih and E'Twaun Moore, so plan accordingly.
Apr 3 - 8:52 PM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Spurs.

This means veteran Beno Udrih is in line to make another start for Nelson, who will miss his third straight game. Over his last two games (both starts), Udrih is averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.5 triples while playing 39 minutes per game
Apr 3 - 12:10 PM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) did not practice Tuesday.

Nelson hasn't practiced or played since rolling his ankle early in last Friday's win over the Wizards. It would be a major surprise if he was able to play against the Spurs on Wednesday. That makes Beno Udrih a must-start in fantasy as he's averaged 15.6 points, 9.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 3-pointers and 1.0 steals over the last three games.
Apr 2 - 4:24 PM

Jameer Nelson (ankle) will not play on Monday against the Rockets.

Not a huge surprise with Nelson after he said he's going to exercise caution, and the Magic have no reason to rush him back into action. Without him, Beno Udrih will likely draw the start and is coming off a game where he had 20 points, seven boards and eight assists and a steal and should see ample playing time again.
Apr 1 - 1:17 PM

Jameer Nelson said he is going to exercise caution with his sprained ankle.

"I'm not 100 percent, obviously," Nelson said. "It's one of those things you've got to be conscious of and be careful pushing it. I don't want it to get worse." With the Magic battling for ping-pong balls, there's no urgency for Nelson to return. Beno Udrih is a strong plug-n-play in fantasy formats right now. He had 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in 41 minutes when Nelson sat out on Saturday.
Mar 31 - 11:44 PM

Jameer Nelson (right ankle) will not play against the Hawks on Saturday.

He suffered the sprain in the first quarter of Friday's game and never really had a shot to play today. Nelson is someone that owners might want to consider cutting at this point. E'Twaun Moore and Beno Udrih make sense as pickups in standard leagues. Moore gets the edge for overall value over Udrih since Beno is ice cold in shooting and Moore has shown some skill at creating his own shot. However, if assists are your pleasure, Udrih isn't a bad idea as a pickup at all. Deep league owners are welcome to give DeQuan Jones a look, too.
