Jameer Nelson was one of three Denver players to hit double figures in the scoring department during Friday's loss to the Spurs, scoring 12 points to go with two assists, two 3-pointers, one rebound and a turnover in 22 minutes.
Nelson had scored in the single digits in his previous four outings, and his averages of 7.2 points, 4.3 assists and 0.9 three-pointers per game tell the story of his non-existent fantasy value. Randy Foye earned 22 minutes but only managed to put up six points, three assists, one rebound, two steals and two turnovers. While Mike Miller logged a season-high 20 minutes but only managed to produce three points, two assists, one 3-pointer, two steals and three turnovers. None of these guys are worth owning in most leagues. Nov 28 - 2:03 AM

Jameer Nelson scored 16 points against the Pelicans on Tuesday with four rebounds, four assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

He was sizzling to put this game away. Nelson is getting a decent amount of playing time next to Emmanuel Mudiay with the Nuggets playing a lot of smaller lineups. Nelson isn't quite a strong pickup in standard leagues, but owners in need of a 3-point shooting PG could do worse.
Nov 18 - 1:25 AM

Jameer Nelson (back) is probable to play on Tuesday against the Pelicans.

He has a sacroiliac joint issue, which is basically where his back meets his hip. Nelson returned on Friday and played 28 minutes, so he should be ready to play with minutes in the 20s.
Nov 16 - 2:53 PM

Jameer Nelson returned to action on Friday with 13 points, five boards and three assists in 28 minutes.

He'll back up Emmanuel Mudiay and should see minutes in the mid 20s. Nelson is a decent handcuff in deep leagues, but getting over a back issue is a little concerning.
Nov 14 - 3:01 AM

Jameer Nelson (back) is available to play Friday vs. the Rockets.

Foye will help backup Emmanuel Mudiay, but he's not doing enough in limited minutes to warrant a roster spot in standard leagues.
Nov 13 - 8:59 PM

Jameer Nelson (back) is expected to play on Friday vs. Houston.

Nelson will resume his role as the backup point guard behind Emmanuel Mudiay if he can go, but his return will spoil the fantasy value of Randy Foye. Nelson is only worth a look in deeper leagues while Mudiay is healthy.
Nov 13 - 1:16 PM

Jameer Nelson (back) will not play against the Bucks on Wednesday.

With Nelson out, we should see Randy Foye handle the backup point guard minutes behind Emmanuel Mudiay. Foye is a decent punt play in DFS tonight, but doesn't have much value going forward.
Nov 11 - 8:43 PM

Jameer Nelson (back) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's matchup with the Bucks.

Randy Foye will be the primary beneficiary if Nelson can't give it a go, but he can't be viewed as anything more than a 3-point specialist in deep leagues.
Nov 11 - 7:21 PM

Jameer Nelson (back strain) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Bucks.

If Nelson can't go, Randy Foye will be given some increased responsibilities on offense operating as Emmanuel Mudiay's backup point guard.
Nov 10 - 5:03 PM

Jameer Nelson (lower back strain) will not play vs. the Blazers on Monday.

Nelson is averaging 24.0 minutes per game this season, but the Nuggets are down to one point guard tonight (Emmanuel Mudiay) which means Randy Foye willl have to handle the ball a little bit. Nelson is not a fantasy option in standard leagues.
Nov 9 - 8:42 PM

Jameer Nelson scored four points with four assists, one board and one steal in 19 minutes against the Jazz on Thursday.

Nelson will continue to serve as Emmanuel Mudiay's backup moving forward, and his averages of 6.8 points, 5.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 3-pointer per game means that his fantasy value will be limited to deeper leagues.
Nov 6 - 10:15 AM

Jameer Nelson has reached an agreement in principle to re-sign with the Nuggets on a three-year deal.

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the deal is worth $13.5 million total. With the drafting of Emmanuel Mudiay and the re-signing of Nelson, it sure seems like Denver is preparing itself to eventually move on from the Ty Lawson era. That may happen sooner rather than later, but Lawson's trade value is currently in the toilet.
Jul 13 - 11:52 AM

Mike Malone said that Jameer Nelson will be re-signing with the Nuggets this offseason.

The Nuggets have said all along that they will make re-signing Jameer a priority, although this report is for from official. Nelson is reportedly looking to have a significant role with the team he signs, so if he does indeed return to Denver, he would really limit the upside of Emmanuel Mudiay (at least until Ty Lawson is traded). Nelson is nearing the end of his career, and won't be worth drafting in most leagues.
Jul 12 - 9:40 PM

Re-signing Jameer Nelson is reportedly a priority for the Nuggets once free agency begins at midnight on Wednesday.

Nelson declined a player option worth $2.9 million for the 2015-16 season and he won't settle for a bit role next year. "I feel like I'm definitely more than a 15- or 18-minute guy, for sure," he said. The 33-year-old would be a great mentor for rookie PG Emmanuel Mudiay in Denver, but despite his self-confidence he's unlikely to play 25+ minutes per game.

Jun 30 - 7:31 PM

Jameer Nelson has opted out of his contract, according to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders.

This was the expectation in the beginning of June, and now it's all but official. Nelson is likely to move on with Denver's roster shaping a significant overhaul, and Nelson is probably hoping to land with a contender instead.
