Jameer Nelson (groin) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Pacers.
His season ends with averages of 12.1 points, 3.4 boards, 7.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.0 triples. With Nelson out, guys like Doron Lamb and Andrew Nicholson have stepped up, but both are risky plays in fantasy leagues. Victor Oladipo will start again. Apr 16 - 5:21 PM

The Magic reportedly haven't decided whether to pick up Jameer Nelson's partially-guaranteed final season, but he hopes to stay in Orlando long-term.

Nelson's $8 million salary is only guaranteed for $2 million, and the Magic could always try to re-negotiate a longer deal. "It's the team's option. I would like to still be here and finish my career here," Nelson said. "I have a lot more years left in me. Good years. I'm not sure what they have in store for me." He ranks eighth in the NBA with 7.0 assists per game despite the arrival of prized rookie guard Victor Oladipo.

Jameer Nelson (groin) will not play against the Bulls on Monday.

It will be his second consecutive have out of the lineup and the Magic have run some messy rotations without him this season. Victor Oladipo will start again and the team has also given more minutes to guys like Doron Lamb and E'Twaun Moore. Nelson can be cut in all leagues and is probably out on Wednesday.
Apr 14 - 6:40 PM

Jameer Nelson (groin strain) will not play against the Nets on Sunday.

He is dealing with soreness in his groin and this is the first we've heard of his injury. Nelson played 34 minutes on Friday night and may have been playing through the strain, but there's certainly a chance for the Magic to rule him out for the season even if it's minor. Fantasy owners have little incentive to keep him on their rosters. Victor Oladipo will get another chance as the starter at point guard.
Apr 13 - 4:41 PM

Jameer Nelson had nine points and four assists in 23 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Cavs.

Nelson's teeth and knee weren't an issue. He simply got eaten up by Kyrie Irving as the Cavs coasted to a 23-point halftime lead. Nelson won't be an appetizing start in a road game against the Bobcats' staunch defense Friday night.
Apr 2 - 9:40 PM

Jameer Nelson saw a dentist on Monday after having four of his teeth chipped during Sunday's game.

Nelson was elbowed in the mouth but he doesn't seem much worse for the wear, and he should be ready to go vs. the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
Mar 31 - 11:49 AM

Jameer Nelson looked good in his second game back from a knee injury, scoring 16 points with two 3-pointers and five assists in a loss to the Raptors.

Nelson is shooting under 40 percent from the field for the second consecutive season, but he's still pitching in 12.2 points and 6.9 assists per game while providing stability and leadership both on and off the court. It will be interesting to see what Orlando does with his partially-guaranteed $8 million salary for next season, especially with Victor Oladipo (16 points in 26 minutes) in line for a bigger role.
Mar 30 - 8:38 PM

Jameer Nelson (knee) returned to action on Friday against the Bobcats, scoring 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds and eight assists.

Nelson will be on shutdown alert the rest of the way but for now he looks good to go and is well worth a pickup if you can deal with the DNP risk. Victor Oladipo scored 14 points with three rebounds, one assist, four steals and one block, and Arron Afflalo added 17 points with two threes and 9-of-10 hits from the foul line in the win.
Mar 28 - 10:06 PM

Jameer Nelson (knee) will start against the Bobcats on Friday.

After missing four games with a sore left knee, Nelson will return to the Magic's starting lineup for Friday's game against Charlotte, according to coach Jacque Vaughn. Nelson had been averaging 11.6 points, 7.2 steals, and 1.8 3-pointers in the last five games before his injuries, so fantasy owners who are in need of assists and treys should feel good about slotting the 32-year-old in their starting lineups for Friday. Victor Oladipo's value should take a bit of a hit as he'll likely comes off the bench with Nelson's return, while Ronnie Price and E'Twaun will lose most of the already limited value that they had while Jameer was out.

An MRI on Jameer Nelson's left knee came back negative and he hopes to return to action on Friday.

"It's gotten better," Nelson said. "The swelling is going down ... So everything looks positive and I'm shooting to play on Friday." Victor Oladipo has been handling the ball more in Nelson's absence, with mixed results -- over the past four games he's shooting 37.3 percent from the field with 7.3 assists and 5.3 turnovers.
Mar 26 - 10:15 AM

Jameer Nelson (knee) will miss Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Tuesday will be Nelson's fourth consecutive game missed due to his knee injury and his opportunities to contribute to fantasy rosters this season are decreasing with each DNP. Fantasy owners in need of assists and 3-pointers will want to hold steady for now, but the Magic only have 10 games left after Tuesday and the Magic have little impetus to risk further injury to the 32-year-old, so it could be time to cut bait soon. In the meantime, Victor Oladipo will again get a bump in value Tuesday night while Ronnie Price and E'Twaun Moore will also benefit from Nelson's absence.

Jameer Nelson (knee) will not play vs. the Lakers on Sunday.

This makes it three straight DNPs for Nelson, whose next chance to play comes at home vs. the Blazers on Tuesday. Victor Oladipo will absorb the majority of Nelson's playing time and production, with help from reserve guards Ronnie Price and E'Twaun Moore.

Jameer Nelson (sore left knee) will not play on Saturday but his status for Sunday's game is uncertain.

Victor Oladipo gains the most in Nelson's absence, and he played 36 minutes in Orlando's last game with E'Twaun Moore and Ronnie Price combining to support the backcourt.

Jameer Nelson (knee) did not practice on Friday.

His status is certainly up in the air for Saturday's game against the Jazz. Nelson sat out on Wednesday vs. the Suns and it allowed Victor Oladipo to get the start. The Magic seem to have an affinity to the idea of using VO as a point guard more, so Nelson will probably have to be at 100 percent to be activated.
Mar 21 - 4:14 PM

Jameer Nelson (left knee soreness) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.

Victor Oladipo will move off the bench and start at point guard while the rest of the lineup will remain the same. Nelson has dealt with some knee issues in the past and he should be considered questionable for Saturday's game vs. Utah.
