Jameer Nelson scored 15 points with seven rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 39 minutes against the Rockets on Saturday.
It looked like Nelson's playing time was going to drop, but that's two really strong games with a 16-point, five-dime game on Thursday. Nelson still wasn't doing much before this weekend and Jamal Murray won't be going away, so the limited upside makes him more of a player to stream. Nelson does have four games this week, so maybe he is worth a look for you. Plus, he also slightly benefits from Danilo Gallinari (knee) and Wilson Chandler (groin) not playing. Mar 19 - 1:00 AM

Jameer Nelson scored 16 points with one rebound, five assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Clippers on Thursday.

The Nuggets shifting Jamal Murray to a combo guard is big for Nelson. This was his first game in double-digit scoring and also just his fourth and fifth steal this month. Even if Nelson does get 30 minutes, his upside isn't too appealing with how the bigs are passing so much. He's really just a low-end guy, but his high floor won't hurt you too much. In other words, don't be afraid to drop Nelson with so many hot free agents popping up these days.
Mar 17 - 12:26 AM

Jameer Nelson played through a right hip flexor strain on Monday vs. the Lakers and scored five points on 2-of-5 shooting.

He wasn't really looking for his shot tonight, but he did manage to dish out six assists with four rebounds, one steal, one block and one triple. Jamal Murray had an impressive game with 22 points and is certainly putting some pressure on Nelson, but coach Michael Malone hinted last week that he's not considering a lineup change. Nelson will likely be the starter as long as the Nuggets hold onto the No. 8 seed.
Mar 14 - 2:16 AM

Jameer Nelson (right hip flexor strain) will play on Monday vs. the Lakers.

Nelson hasn't had any hip related issues since the end of the 2015-16 season, so it will be interesting to see how he plays tonight. If he struggles early, that could open the door for Jamal Murray to see more minutes. Nelson is a low-end option with three games on the schedule this week, but the matchup vs. the Lakers is very favorable.
Mar 13 - 8:42 PM

Jameer Nelson (right hip flexor strain) is questionable to play Monday vs. the Lakers.

It's unclear exactly when Nelson suffered this injury, but he hasn't been dealing with any hip related issues since the end of the 2015-16 season. Owners can expect to get another update following Monday morning's shootaround, but if Nelson is out, we could see Emmanuel Mudiay back in the starting five and there would be more minutes available for Jamal Murray in the second unit.
Mar 12 - 5:29 PM

Jameer Nelson scored eight points with two rebounds, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Kings on Saturday.

He was looking great coming into this month, but coach Mike Malone saying he wants to get a longer look at Jamal Murray is not a positive for Nelson. Nelson could still cling to standard-league value the rest of the way, but he really only has late-round upside. For what it's worth, he hasn't been worth owning in March.
Mar 12 - 3:59 AM

Jameer Nelson hit three of his five field-goal attempts to finish with six points, six assists and a steal in 30 minutes on Monday against Sacramento.

Nelson continues to start and give the Nuggets a veteran presence handling the offense. His scoring is down in two games in the month of March but he continues to post a healthy amount of assists. Unless the team feels confident enough to hand the keys to the offense over to rookie Jamal Murray then Nelson should remain the starter and a decent fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams.
Mar 7 - 12:33 AM

Jameer Nelson scored eight points with two rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

He went through practice on Friday, so his food poisoning was way behind him. Nelson was actually red hot before this game, averaging 13.0 points, 3.7 boards, 7.0 assists and 1.2 steals in his previous 10 games. He's worth owning in standard leagues.
Mar 4 - 11:57 PM

Jameer Nelson (illness) will start at point guard on Saturday vs. the Hornets.

Nelson was sidelined for Wednesday's contest due to food poisoning. Nelson's return to the starting lineup will bump Jamal Murray back to the bench and may mean another DNP-CD for Emmanuel Mudiay. Nelson is averaging 12.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists in the 24 games he has started for Denver this season.
Mar 4 - 1:02 PM

Jameer Nelson (illness) will play against the Hornets on Saturday.

He had food poisoning on Wednesday to keep him out in Milwaukee. Nelson should go back to his minutes in the low 30s as the starter. In his games since the break, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.3 boards, 4.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 treys on 64.3 percent from the field. He should be owned in standard leagues while Jamal Murray takes a hit. Emmanuel Mudiay could be bumped from the rotation.
Mar 3 - 3:04 PM

Jameer Nelson (illness) will not play against the Bucks and Jamal Murray will start in his place.

We should see Emmanuel Mudiay get some minutes, but Murray is clearly looking at his biggest opportunity in his pro career. Nelson should be better for his weekend action, so his fantasy owners should just sit him for today. Murray will be a very popular DFS play for this evening.
Mar 1 - 6:34 PM

Jameer Nelson (illness) is expected to be a game-time decision to face the Bucks on Wednesday.

He played 30 minutes on on Tuesday and looked fine with 12 points. Denver would certainly miss Nelson based on his play in his last five, averaging 12.0 points, 3.4 boards, 5.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.8 treys in 29.6 minutes. If he can't go, Emmanuel Mudiay would be in the rotation while Jamal Murray could get close to 30 minutes. Murray would be an attractive DFS play, especially with a lack of value PGs tonight.
Mar 1 - 2:19 PM

Jameer Nelson scored 12 points with four rebounds, six assists, five steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes during his start against the Kings on Thursday.

He kept the Nuggets in this game and looks like he has the starting job locked up. Emmanuel Mudiay did not play in this game and Jamal Murray had a game to forget. Nelson not being traded is huge for his value, so he should be owned in standard leagues. He should get heavy run as long as the Nuggets are going for the No. 8 spot.
Feb 24 - 1:24 AM

Coach Mike Malone said Jameer Nelson will be the starting point guard going forward.

With the Nuggets going for the eighth seed, this move makes a lot of sense. Since taking over as the starter last month due to some injuries to Mudiay, Nelson has gone 7-7, averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 boards, 6.3 assists, 1.6 turnovers, 1.7 treys and 0.5 steals in 30.7 minutes per game. That has given him low-end value in standard leagues and is also a fair expectation going forward. Plus, he's been hot lately, so he should be owned in most formats.
Feb 22 - 3:01 PM

Denver followed up Monday's upset win vs. the Warriors with a loss to the Wolves, despite getting 16 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds from starting PG Jameer Nelson.

Nelson made 7-of-15 shots with one 3-pointer and he's been very good in the absence of Emmanuel Mudiay (back). Mudiay has extra time to heal during the break, but even if he's healthy Nelson has enough juice to be worth a look in standard leagues.
