Nuggets waive G Jameer Nelson.
This move has been expected since Monday with the Nuggets adding Richard Jefferson. Nelson will clear waivers on Friday and he will likely sign with another team after a strong finish to last season. With him gone, this means Emmanuel Mudiay and Jamal Murray will have secure minutes at the point and could even play some shooting guard. Oct 18 - 5:08 PM

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Nuggets will likely waive Jameer Nelson.

They need the roster spot to sign Richard Jefferson, and this suggests that the Nuggets are confident in Jamal Murray as their starting PG and Emmanuel Mudiay as his backup. Once waived, the 35-year-old Nelson shouldn't have much trouble finding work and will probably be looking to join a contender.
Oct 16 - 7:30 PM

Mike Malone confirmed that Jameer Nelson will not be a starter for the Nuggets this season.

Malone wouldn't reveal who will open the year as Denver's starting point guard, but all signs are pointing towards Jamal Murray earning the starting nod over Emmanuel Mudiay. Nelson will be taking on more of a mentorship role this season, so he can be ignored in fantasy hoops.
Oct 16 - 3:43 PM

Jameer Nelson started at PG on Sunday and handed out five assists in 23 minutes, adding two points and two rebounds in the exhibition loss.

The Nuggets' PG situation is still unclear, but Jamal Murray still looks like the favorite to start. He was resting tonight, while Emmanuel Mudiay struggled in 19 minutes off the bench, and Nelson did little to separate himself.
Oct 8 - 7:34 PM

Jameer Nelson (toe) returned to action on Wednesday, going scoreless with four assists in 11 minutes off the bench.

Emmanuel Mudiay and Jamal Murray have been competing for the starting PG job this preseason, which leaves Nelson looking like a third-string option in the backcourt. Denver values his veteran leadership but there's not enough on-court appeal to touch him in fantasy leagues.
Oct 5 - 12:45 AM

Jameer Nelson (toe) will make his preseason debut Wednesday vs. the Lakers.

He sat out Denver's first two preseason games with a toe injury, but he's fine now. Nelson will likely take on more of a mentorship role this season, so he's not a great target in most leagues.
Oct 3 - 6:32 PM

Jameer Nelson (toe) will not play against the Warriors on Saturday.

His toe injury is not serious, but the Nuggets will now get a look at their two young point guards. With Emmanuel Mudiay apparently impressing at camp, he should get a bigger opportunity to push for consistent minutes. We'll have a close eye on this Saturday matchup.
Sep 28 - 3:54 PM

Jameer Nelson has been sidelined for the first two days of training camp with a toe injury.

Nelson has plenty of time to rest up that toe for the regular season, but he's going to be a reduced part of the rotation this year with the Nuggets likely to turn over the reins to Jamal Murray at point guard. In other words, Nelson shouldn't be considered a fantasy target in most leagues.
Sep 27 - 2:06 PM

Jameer Nelson (calf) will not play in either of the Nuggets final two games this season.

This is certainly not surprising, as Nelson was seen in a walking boot over the weekend. Jamal Murray and Emmanuel Mudiay will split minutes at point guard Tuesday vs. Dallas and Wednesday vs. OKC.
Apr 11 - 12:24 PM

Jameer Nelson (calf) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game in Dallas.

Nelson was spotted sporting a walking boot on Sunday, which is a pretty good indication that he won't be playing again this season with Denver officially out of the playoff hunt. Jamal Murray and Emmanuel Mudiay (ankle) will continue to split the point guard minutes in his absence.
Apr 10 - 3:21 PM

Jameer Nelson (calf) was spotted sporting a walking boot on Sunday.

While Nelson hasn't officially been ruled out for the rest of the regular season just yet, things aren't looking great for him with just two games left on the schedule. For now, we'll consider him doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, and if he's out again, it'll be Jamal Murray and Emmanuel Mudiay picking up the slack.
Apr 9 - 5:31 PM

Jameer Nelson (calf) is listed as out for Sunday against the Thunder.

Emmanuel Mudiay is also banged up, so get ready for a lot of blue arrows to fly. Jamal Murray is coming off a career-high 30 points from Friday, so he'll have the spotlight on him against Russell Westbrook. If you added Murray this week for your championship, it might be the difference for you.
Apr 8 - 4:03 PM

Jameer Nelson (right calf) has been ruled out of Friday's game vs. New Orleans.

Nelson played on Wednesday after missing the team's two previous games, but was unable to escape unscathed. Jamal Murray will once again replace Nelson in the starting lineup. Murray finished with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists in 33 minutes when he started in place of Nelson on Tuesday vs. the Pelicans. Emmanuel Mudiay will back up Murray.
Apr 7 - 12:47 PM

Jameer Nelson (right calf) is not expected to play against the Pelicans on Friday.

He played 32 minutes in his return to the lineup on Wednesday, but apparently he's dealing with soreness or an aggravation. With Nelson likely out, that should push Jamal Murray back to the starting lineup with Emmanuel Mudiay behind him. Murray could be worth a look for his upside, but he hasn't played well in his four of his last five games.
Apr 6 - 5:41 PM

Jameer Nelson (calf) returned to action on Wednesday with eight points on 3-of-9 shooting, two 3-pointers, five assists, two rebounds and three turnovers in 32 minutes.

Nelson started the game, shifting Jamal Murray to the bench, and his return puts a serious dent in Emmanuel Mudiay's appeal as an end-of-season addition. The Nuggets trail the Blazers by just one game for the No. 8 seed, so all signs point to Jameer playing his usual role as a starter down the stretch.
