Kevin Martin said he'd love to stay with the Thunder but will go through the process of free agency.
Martin came to the Thunder as one of the central pieces in the James Harden deal. Although he had his moments, Martin failed to replicate the off-the-bench production OKC got from Harden last season. We imagine Martin will have a fair amount of suitors in free agency and it's unlikely the Thunder will overpay to keep him. Depending on the asking price, Martin looks like he might be a one-year rental for OKC. May 16 - 3:59 PM

Kevin Martin shot 8-of-14 from the field for 25 points with seven boards, one block and three 3-pointers in Game 1's 93-91 victory over the Grizzlies.

His perimeter game is going to be an important part of OKC's offensive formula in this series. The Grizzlies allowed the least amount of points outside of the paint in the NBA while OKC led that category on offense. It was his second game in a row with 25 points, so Lionel Hollins and his coaching staff will have to incorporate a new plan to limit Martin's open looks.
May 5 - 4:37 PM

Kevin Martin bounced back in a big way Friday night, scoring 25 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers.

Martin did his best James Harden impersonation Friday, hitting 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range. It was a huge step up from Game 5 which saw Martin make just 1-of-10 shots. If the Thunder are going to make a run in the West without Russell Westbrook, they're going to need Martin to play like he did Friday night in and night out.

May 4 - 1:12 PM

Kevin Martin hit just 1-of-10 shots and zero 3-pointers to finish with just three points in OKC's Game 5 loss to the Rockets.

If Martin's not hitting threes he's of little use to the Thunder, but then again, the Thunder bench isn't all that awe-inspiring. The Thunder will try to beat the Rockets in Houston and end the series on Friday, but they're going to have to play much better than they did tonight if that's going to happen. And it probably starts with Martin.
May 2 - 12:44 AM

Kevin Martin (back) will not play on Wednesday, as expected.

Martin was expected to sit out so this comes as no surprise. Ronnie Brewer and Reggie Jackson should pick up the scraps off the bench.
Apr 17 - 12:30 PM

Kevin Martin (back) is not expected to play on Wednesday vs. Milwaukee.

With Martin nursing a sore back and the Thunder clinching the No. 1 seed, there is no reason to play Martin until the playoffs begin. Reggie Jackson and Ronnie Brewer should each see increased action.

Kevin Martin (back) and Kendrick Perkins (hamstring) will not play on Monday vs. Sacramento.

Neither player played on Friday against Portland either, and the Thunder are making sure both are 100 percent healthy before the postseason begins. Expect Hasheem Thabeet to draw another start at center with Reggie Jackson, Ronnie Brewer and Nick Collison picking up some time.

Kevin Martin (back) will not play against the Blazers on Friday.

He was busier than usual with 23 points on Thursday, but chances are the Thunder are just being a little more cautious than usual. OKC is off until Monday, so his owners should act accordingly. DeAndre Liggins figures to get more burn tonight.
Apr 12 - 8:38 PM

Kevin Martin came out of nowhere for 23 points against the Warriors on Thursday, adding one board, three assists, one steal and four 3-pointers on 8-of-10 shooting.

It was his highest point total since January 24 against his old team in Sacramento and he averaged just 7.5 points on his previous four. Martin has been efficient this year and he raised his season field goal shooting to 45.0 percent with this gem. That's a huge improvement from his 41.3 percent from last year and he's holding mid-round value this year.
Apr 12 - 1:27 AM

Kevin Martin shot 6-of-8 from the field for 13 points with four boards, four assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes against the Knicks on Sunday.

He was due for a nice outing with just 11 points combined over his last two. Martin has been holding mid-round value most of the season and he's stayed remarkably healthy considering the laundry list of injuries he's dealt with over his career. He's worth owning in all leagues and probably won't be rested down the stretch.
Apr 7 - 4:18 PM

Kevin Martin had his second sub-par performance in a row on Thursday, shooting 3-of-7 from the field for nine points with two boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.

He put up a two-point stinker on Thursday and Indiana's stout defense kept him in check for the second game in a row. Martin is still providing mid-round value on the season and should remain owned in all leagues that count 3-pointers.
Apr 6 - 12:45 AM

Kevin Martin scored just two points on 1-of-6 shooting from the field with four boards, one assist and one block in 21 minutes.

Some of the time Martin will turn in these duds, but he's still producing sixth-round value in standard leagues. He averaged 13.0 points with 1.8 triples in his previous five, so we'd expect him to bounce back at least a little vs. a stout Indiana D on Friday.
Apr 5 - 12:40 AM

Kevin Martin bounced back with 17 points in Saturday's victory, hitting 6-of-12 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs, with one 3-pointer.

K-Mart shot 1-of-9 on Friday but he made up for it tonight, adding five rebounds, two assists and one steal for (by his standards) a well-rounded line.
Mar 31 - 1:41 AM

Kevin Martin hit 1-of-9 shots for four points to go with one rebound and one assist in 20 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Martin is a low-end value in standard formats but if you don't need 3-pointers he's borderline worthless. The Thunder would be wise to figure out a consistent role for him on offense since they'll need him in the playoffs.
Mar 30 - 1:18 AM

Kevin Martin hit three 3-point shots on Monday, but finished with just nine points and one steal in 20 minutes off the bench.

Martin has not been worth starting in standard formats for the last two weeks unless you're hunting threes. The Thunder play him 25 minutes per game and curiously leave him out of the offense at times, but he should bounce back and produce enough to be owned and even started in most formats.
