Detroit has claimed Beno Udrih off waivers, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.
The Pistons have been looking for a veteran point guard ever since they found out that Reggie Jackson (knee, thumb) would miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season. Udrih likely won't have much fantasy value, as he'll serve as Ish Smith's backup until Jackson returns. As long as Smith plays well, he should still get a ton of minutes. Oct 24 - 5:24 PM

Updating a previous item, Heat waive PG Beno Udrih.

Udrih got a $1.5M gift from the organization to do absolutely nothing. While he could resurface elsewhere as an insurance policy at point guard, Udrih is going to have a tough time generating an NBA market moving forward.

The Heat are expected to waive veteran PG Beno Udrih, a source told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

This means Rodney McGruder's roster spot is locked up. Udrih may resurface as a third-string PG elsewhere (Sixers, anyone?), but it's clear his best days are behind him.
Oct 22 - 2:31 PM

Beno Udrih (back) is on the Heat's roster bubble, according to head coach Erik Spoelstra.

The Heat will have to decide between Udrih and Briante Weber, and Spoelstra isn't looking forward to making the decision. "Well, they’re two totally different players," Spoelstra said of Udrih and Weber. "Bri is dynamic defensively. There’s so many unpredictable things that are disruptive, it’s uncanny. Offensively, he brings a lot of energy, and he’s developing the rest of his game." While the 34-year-old could still end up on Miami's final roster, he won't have any fantasy value in standard leagues this season.
Oct 18 - 9:07 AM

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra expects Beno Udrih (back) to play over the weekend.

Udrih has been dealing with a sore back, but will likely make his preseason debut over the weekend according to Spo. Even when healthy, the 34-year-old will serve as Miami's third-string point guard, so he can be left undrafted in all fantasy leagues.
Oct 13 - 1:48 PM

Beno Udrih (back) will be available to play Tuesday vs. the Nets.

Udrih has yet to make his preseason debut, but chances are that will change tonight. He's not worth drafting anywhere as the third-string point guard in Miami.
Oct 11 - 6:34 PM

Beno Udrih (back) could make his preseason debut Tuesday vs. Nets and is listed as questionable.

Udrih has been dealing with back issues for over a week, but he should be good to go on Tuesday. He's competing with Briante Weber for the third-string PG role, so he has no fantasy appeal.
Oct 10 - 12:29 PM

Beno Udrih (back) was limited in practice on Friday.

He's been limited for most of the month and it will likely keep him out on Saturday. Tyler Johnson could get a couple extra minutes.
Oct 7 - 3:13 PM

Beno Udrih (back) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice.

Udrih is dealing with back spasms that will likely keep him out of Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, but he still has roughly three weeks to rest up for the regular season. Still, as the third-string point guard in Miami, Udrih is not worth the attention of fantasy owners anywhere.
Oct 6 - 4:48 PM

Beno Udrih is questionable for Saturday's game due to lower back spasms.

Back spasms can be a pernicious injury and the Heat will play it safe here. If there's any doubt about his health, backup PG duties should fall to Briante Weber and Dion Waiters.
Oct 5 - 10:31 PM

Beno Udrih (back) is doubtful to play Tuesday vs. the Wizards.

There's absolutely no reason for Udrih to get out there for a meaningless game and risk a setback, so he'll more than likely be watching from the sidelines tonight. As the third-string point guard in Miami, Udrih isn't worth drafting in any setting.
Oct 4 - 6:04 PM

Beno Udrih (back) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's preseason game.

Udrih will serve as the Heat's third-string point guard to start the season and won't be worth drafting in standard fantasy leagues even when healthy.
Oct 4 - 12:14 PM

Beno Udrih has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Heat on a one-year deal.

Udrih will serve as the third-string point guard on the depth chart, which likely means that Briante Weber will be spending most of the year in the D-League. Udrih won't be worth drafting anywhere.
Aug 17 - 11:09 AM

Beno Udrih is considering Miami's current offer, but he won't be making an official decision until mid-to-late August.

Udrih likes Miami, but with Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson expected to get the bulk of the point guard minutes, there just won't be much playing time for Udrih should he decide to suit up for the Heat. Regardless of where Udrih winds up, he'll be a non-factor in most leagues.
Aug 3 - 9:39 AM

The Heat could still bring in Beno Udrih for training camp according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The Heat currently have 18 players on the books and have four players capable of playing the point in Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, Briante Weber and Josh Richardson. Udrih will likely explore other options before committing to the Heat's training camp. The 34-year-old veteran shouldn't be a factor in fantasy leagues next season.
