Beno Udrih has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Heat on a one-year deal.
Udrih will serve as the third-string point guard on the depth chart, which likely means that Briante Weber will be spending most of the year in the D-League. Udrih won't be worth drafting anywhere. Aug 17 - 11:09 AM

Beno Udrih is considering Miami's current offer, but he won't be making an official decision until mid-to-late August.

Udrih likes Miami, but with Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson expected to get the bulk of the point guard minutes, there just won't be much playing time for Udrih should he decide to suit up for the Heat. Regardless of where Udrih winds up, he'll be a non-factor in most leagues.
Aug 3 - 9:39 AM

The Heat could still bring in Beno Udrih for training camp according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The Heat currently have 18 players on the books and have four players capable of playing the point in Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, Briante Weber and Josh Richardson. Udrih will likely explore other options before committing to the Heat's training camp. The 34-year-old veteran shouldn't be a factor in fantasy leagues next season.
Jul 29 - 9:45 AM

The Heat have reportedly been having ongoing discussions with unrestricted free agent Beno Udrih.

Miami already has 15 players on their roster, so if Udrih does wind up re-upping with Miami for the veteran's minimum, someone would have to go. Briante Weber or Rodney McGruder would be the most likely cut candidates should Udrih sign in Miami.
Jul 13 - 9:21 AM

Beno Udrih could return to the Heat for the 2016-17 season, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Winderman reports that unless Udrih can "find more money elsewhere," the expectation is for the veteran point guard to re-sign in Miami. It's hard to see how Udrih could find a more lucrative deal than the minimum, so we won't be surprised when he winds up back with his former team. Assuming he's brought back, Udrih would be insurance behind both Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson on the depth chart.

Heat waive G Beno Udrih (foot).

It's an interesting move to get the Heat below the luxury tax line. Udrih is out for the season and won't be picked up by another team, so he's leaving money on the table here.
Feb 29 - 4:41 PM

Beno Udrih and the Heat are nearing agreement on a contract buyout, sources told The Vertical.

Although Udrih is out for the season, buying him out would have luxury tax implications for Miami. With Joe Johnson already aboard, the Heat are also considering adding Marcus Thornton and/or a third point guard, so opening a roster spot via Udrih's departure could be a step in that direction.
Feb 29 - 12:58 PM

Beno Udrih (foot) underwent successful surgery on Friday and has been given a 3-month timetable.

He has said that he wants to beat his timetable, but his season is all but over. With Udrih out of the picture, the Heat will turn to Josh Richardson as their backup point guard unless they sign a free agent.
Feb 26 - 12:28 PM

Beno Udrih is set to undergo surgery for a torn plantar plate in his right foot and he is expected to miss the next three months of action.

Udrih will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season, and Miami could cut him in order to add another guy to the roster whilst remaining under the luxury tax threshold. Udrih should be good to go next season, but he's nothing more than a backup point guard and is not a fantasy option in most leagues. Until Miami adds another player, Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade will be getting some heavy minutes for the Heat, with Josh Richardson serving as Dragic's primary backup.
Feb 24 - 11:31 AM

Beno Udrih will undergo season-ending surgery on his right foot.

Tyler Johnson (shoulder) may not be able to return for the regular season, so rookie Josh Richardson may have to take over as the backup PG behind Goran Dragic. Udrih was only averaging 4.4 points and 2.5 assists this season, so this won't have too many fantasy implications. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Feb 23 - 10:35 PM

Beno Udrih (left foot) will not suit up for Wednesday's game vs. the Warriors.

Josh Richardson will have the opportunity for some extended run in Udrih's absence, but he's not a viable target in almost any league. Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic will likely see their minutes in the high-30s with both of the backup point guards in Miami unavailable, so those guys will be in play as potential DFS targets Wednesday night.

Beno Udrih (foot) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Warriors.

Udrih exited Monday's game with a left foot injury, and while X-rays came back negative, we still don't have the results of the MRI. Udrih isn't worth owning in any setting while Goran Dragic is healthy, but his absence will lead to some more run for Josh Richardson, who also is a non-factor in fantasy hoops.
Feb 23 - 2:32 PM

Beno Udrih (left foot) will have an MRI on his injured foot on Tuesday.

X-rays on Udrih's left foot came back negative, but we'll now more after the results of his MRI come back. We'll keep an eye on the situation, but Josh Richardson will likely see some extra minutes if Udrih misses any time.
Feb 23 - 1:13 PM

Beno Udrih (left foot injury) will not return to Monday's game vs. the Pacers.

X-rays came back negative, but the extent of the injury is not known. If Udrih does need to miss time, Josh Richardson will likely soak up his minutes.
Feb 22 - 9:02 PM

Beno Udrih played 30 minutes and hit 4-of-6 shots for nine points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in Tuesday's win.

Goran Dragic appears to be close to returning from his calf injury, but until it happens, Udrih is a decent fantasy option if you need a starting point guard.
