Beno Udrih disappeared in the Magic's 102-84 loss to the Bulls on Monday, scoring five points on 2-of-7 shooting (including a three) to go with just one assist in 23 minutes.
Unless we get surprising news that Jameer Nelson will play in the finale, owners should trot Udrih out there in most cases. Apr 15 - 11:00 PM

Date:

Beno Udrih wasn't shy about shooting on Wednesday, making 6-of-22 from the field for 13 points to go with four boards, 11 assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Bucks.

Jameer Nelson is still day-to-day with his ankle injury, but he didn't really have much of a shot to play tonight. Udrih has been solid in the five previous games without Jameer, averaging 17.8 points, 7.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 triples on 50 percent shooting. He's a must-start player as long as Nelson is out.
Apr 10 - 11:06 PM

Beno Udrih scored 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds, seven assists and two steals in Friday's one-point loss to the Bulls.

Udrih has been a must-start player while Jameer Nelson is out, and he's also giving the Magic every reason to let Nelson sit. Just enjoy the ride until the wheels fall off.
Apr 6 - 12:47 AM

Beno Udrih had 14 points, eight assists, three rebounds, three steals and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs.

Udrih continues to prove that he's a starting-caliber NBA point guard. Over the last four games, he's averaging 15.2 points, 8.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds while playing 37.0 minutes per night. Jameer Nelson (ankle) could return as soon as Friday, though, so Beno's owners should check back for updates.
Apr 3 - 10:45 PM

Beno Udrih made another start at point guard on Monday and had 17 points, 10 assists and three 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting in the Magic's loss to the Rockets.

Udrih had 20 points and a near triple-double on Saturday, and as long as Jameer Nelson is out with his ankle injury, Udrih is in must-start territory. And even if Jameer can play, Udrih will continue to see plenty of minutes as his backup, as well as time at shooting guard.
Apr 2 - 12:23 AM

With Jameer Nelson (ankle) unavailable, Beno Udrih started at PG and had 20 points, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal in a loss to the Hawks.

Udrih had nine assists after Nelson got hurt on Friday, so there was at least some forewarning that he'd start ahead of E'Twaun Moore. Moore finished tonight's game with four points in 17 minutes, and Udrih looks like a decent bet if Jameer misses many more games.
Mar 30 - 10:09 PM

Beno Udrih will start at point guard for the Magic on Saturday.

The move makes sense for the Magic since they're so shallow on the win. E'Twaun Moore can come off the bench and play at both guard spots and should still be a major factor in the rotation. Udrih shot just 25 percent from the floor in his previous three games, so Moore seems like a slightly safer pickup with all things being equal for your team.
Mar 30 - 6:59 PM

Beno Udrih shot 2-of-8 from the field for 10 points with four boards, nine assists, one steal and one 3-pointer against the Wizards in a 97-92 win on Friday.

The Magic may have lost Jameer Nelson for the foreseeable future and Beno figures to run a large portion of the offense. Despite his struggles in shooting the ball lately, Udrih is worth owning for anyone that needs assists.
Mar 29 - 11:16 PM

Beno Udrih hit just 1-of-9 shots for seven points to go with four rebounds, five assists and two steals over 37 minutes on Monday.

Udrih took a shot to the chin from teammate Kyle O'Quinn and also ended up on the wrong end of a LeBron highlight, but he stayed in the game and will be better the next time out. With Magic players dropping like flies, he should get plenty of burn.
Mar 25 - 10:51 PM

Beno Udrih logged 36 minutes with Arron Afflalo leaving early due to a hamstring injury on Friday, and finished with 13 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Udrih hit 5-of-10 shots (including a three) and will slide into a 25-35 minute role if Afflalo misses time, and since Afflalo was helped off the court by teammates that wouldn't be all that surprising. Consider Udrih a short-term add for standard formats at this time.
Mar 22 - 11:13 PM

Beno Udrih came off the Magic bench for 13 points, three rebounds and eight assists in Wednesday's loss to the Knicks.

Jameer Nelson was terrible and the Magic relied upon the bench to try to get them back in the game. Udrih has talent, but as long as Nelson is the starter, nights like this one will likely be few and far between.
Mar 21 - 12:13 AM

Beno Udrih disappeared in Monday's win, playing just 12 minutes on his way to two points and five assists.

Udrih hit 1-of-4 shots and it looks like the Magic aren't going to accommodate his presence by going small more often. That's good news for small forwards Moe Harkless and Tobias Harris.
Mar 4 - 11:12 PM

Beno Udrih played 17 minutes off the Magic bench on Sunday, scoring five points with four assists and one steal.

It's dispiriting that Udrih wasn't more active with Jameer Nelson (knee) still out of commission, but this game was essentially over by halftime so maybe Jacque Vaughn simply rested his veteran. Regardless, Nelson is day-to-day and there should be more alluring options on most fantasy waiver wires.
Mar 3 - 8:59 PM

Beno Udrih came off the bench for four points, two rebounds and nine assists on 2-of-6 shooting in 27 minutes of Tuesday's win over the Sixers.

E'Twaun Moore started and double-doubled, and is a better spot starter in Jameer Nelson's absence (knee injury) than Udrih, simply because he knows the Magic's system much better than Udrih, who has only played a couple games for his new team.
Feb 26 - 9:54 PM

Beno Udrih had 10 points, seven assists and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench on Saturday, his first game with the Magic.

Udrih stands as one of the few winners from this week's yawn-inducing trade deadline, though his heavy usage in his debut is partly attributable to Jameer Nelson's absence. With the versatility to play some SG and an injury-prone PG ahead of him, deep league owners should already have pounced on Beno.
