Beno Udrih will be available to play for Thursday's game vs. the Jazz.
Udrih will have the opportunity to get into the rotation tonight with Dwyane Wade (personal) out, but it's unlikely he sees enough minutes to matter in most leagues. Nov 12 - 6:01 PM

Beno Udrih is not expected to play against the Jazz on Thursday.

The Heat have yet to integrate Udrih into their rotation after acquiring the guard via trade, but head coach Erik Spoelstra said he expects Udrih to play in the Heat's next game against Timberwolves on Tuesday. Udrih is unlikely to provide much fantasy value unless Goran Dragic suffers an injury, so he can be left on waivers in all leagues.
Nov 12 - 11:48 AM

Beno Udrih and Jarnell Stokes will be inactive for Tuesday's game against the Lakers.

Gerald Green (illness) will also join the pair on the inactive list. Udrih and Stokes are unlikely to emerge as fantasy assets in Miami.
Nov 10 - 6:54 PM

The Heat have reportedly been unable to find a third-team willing to help facilitate the Mario Chalmers to Memphis deal, so the trade will likely be a straight swap of Chalmers for Beno Udrih and Jarnell Stokes.

It's not surprising that Miami hasn't been able to find any takers for these end-of-the-bench players, and the takeaway here is that Miami clearly doesn't think very highly of their newly acquired assets. Head coach Erik Spoelstra said that he liked the trade because it "cleans up a lot of things" in Miami's backcourt, and that quote would suggest that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Tyler Johnson as the Heat’s primary backup point guard.
Nov 10 - 6:20 PM

Miami is reportedly searching for a third team to take Beno Udrih and/or Jarnell Stokes to help facilitate the deal sending Mario Chalmers to Memphis.

Tuesday's trade sending away Chalmers to the Grizzlies was done for tax purposes, and not to acquire Udrih nor Stokes, and this report makes it pretty obvious that neither of the newly acquired players are being viewed as future assets for Miami. This may also be an indication that Gerald Green (illness) is close to returning to the court for the Heat.

The Miami Heat have traded for Beno Udrih, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

This move doesn't change Udrih's fantasy value a whole lot as the Heat and Grizzlies are mostly shuffling ancillary pieces here with Mario Chalmers headed to Memphis. Udrih will likely assume backup point guard duties behind Goran Dragic, but he doesn't have any fantasy value outside of deeper leagues.
Nov 10 - 1:32 PM

Beno Udrih returned from a sprained ankle to finish Wednesday's one-point victory with nine points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 bench minutes.

Nick Calathes is playing in Greece this season so Udrih has the backup PG job all to himself. That's good news for his owners in deep fantasy formats, but irrelevant for everyone else. The 12-year veteran hasn't been a reliable fantasy option since playing for Sacramento in 2010-11.
Oct 21 - 10:48 PM

Beno Udrih (ankle sprain) will play in the Grizzlies final two preseason games.

Udrih practiced on Tuesday and plans to use the final two preseason games as a jumping off point to get him ready for the regular season. Udrih will have some fantasy value if Mike Conley misses any time due to injury, but his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues otherwise.
Oct 20 - 1:56 PM

Beno Udrih (ankle) will not play vs. the Wolves on Sunday.

This will be his second straight game on the shelf which means Russ Smith might get some decent minutes tonight. It isn't clear when Udrih will return, but he doesn't have much fantasy value while Mike Conley is healthy.
Oct 18 - 5:03 PM

Beno Udrih (ankle) did not return on Monday after his ankle sprain in the first quarter.

He shot the free throws and went to the locker room. Udrih had ankle surgery this offseason and hopefully this isn't severe. If it is going to cost him time, we might see Russ Smith get in the rotation.
Oct 12 - 9:27 PM

The Grizzlies have officially picked up Beno Udrih's $2.2 million option for the 2015-16 season.

Udrih, who turns 33 on Sunday, gives Memphis an affordable and reliable backup for starter Mike Conley. He had right ankle surgery in early June but is expected to be fully recovered in time for training camp. He's not on the fantasy radar and will be even less appealing if the Grizzlies bring back Nick Calathes.
Jul 5 - 2:32 PM

Beno Udrih had successful surgery on his ankle on Thursday.

There are still no details on what type of procedure he had, but he should be ready to go for training camp. Udrih was solid for the Grizzlies when Mike Conley was dealing with injuries, but his ankle clearly limited him in the playoffs. Udrih should be penciled in as the backup point guard next season, but he won't be a target in standard leagues. We will update his status once an official timetable for his return is confirmed.

Jun 6 - 9:30 AM

Beno Udrih is set to undergo ankle surgery on Thursday.

We still don't have the specifics on the procedure he will have, but it would be surprising if he were not ready to go for the start of the 2015-16 season. Udrih averaged 7.7 points and 2.8 assists per game on 48.7 percent shooting this year, so he's really only someone to target in daily leagues when Mike Conley is out of the lineup. We'll likely have an official timetable on Udrih's recovery within the next few days.
Jun 4 - 3:33 PM

Beno Udrih will undergo ankle surgery and will not play with the Slovenian national team at Eurobasket this summer.

We don't have a lot of details right now, but it is likely a minor procedure. Udrih played through an ankle issue during the playoffs, but the fact that he won't play with the Slovenian national team means that he will have plenty of time to recover. As always, we will track his progress closely and will update his status once more is known.

May 27 - 10:23 AM

Beno Udrih (ankle) will play in Game 1 vs. the Warriors on Sunday.

Udrih will have some increased opportunity for minutes with Mike Conley (face) unavailable, however, he'll have a tough matchup against the Warriors so he's not that great of a daily league option.
