Beno Udrih drew the start against the Clippers on Saturday with 14 points, two rebounds, three assists, one steal and four turnovers.
Mike Conley (foot) was very close to playing tonight, so he has a good chance to be ready for Monday against the Warriors. The Grizzlies, Clippers and Spurs are all sitting at 54-26 with the Rockets just 0.5 games behind them, so Memphis will want Conley to play ASAP. Udrih should be on the wire for now. Date:

Beno Udrih started for Mike Conley (foot) on Friday against the Jazz, scoring 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds and just one assist in 35 minutes.

Udrih is never a sure bet to be productive when Conley is out but he'll be worth a look if that continues. Conley is day-to-day and has a number of ailments that really do need rest, but the Grizzlies are still in a race for seeding.
Apr 11 - 3:51 AM

Beno Udrih hit 7-of-10 shots for 15 points, two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's ugly loss to Cleveland.

Mike Conley had 10 points and five dimes in 26 minutes, but Udrih got some garbage-time run when the Grizzlies fell into a 29-point hole in the third quarter.
Mar 26 - 1:19 AM

Beno Udrih started Tuesday's game in place of Mike Conley (ankle), finishing with nine points, one 3-pointer, four rebounds, nine assists and one block.

Udrih played 30 minutes while Nick Calathes added four points and three assists in 18 minutes as the Grizzlies' default backup PG. Neither guy is a palatable fantasy option with Conley day-to-day, though Udrih is a decent spot-starter if Conley does miss more games.
Mar 17 - 10:12 PM

Beno Udrih started against the Bucks on Saturday with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers on 6-of-10 from the field.

It was a nice game from Udrih after a rough eight-point game on Thursday. Mike Conley (ankle) isn't expected to be out much longer, so there's little incentive to picking up Beno. Although, it's worth mentioning that the Grizzlies are one of two teams to kick off next week with a Monday-Tuesday back-to-back set (Hornets).
Mar 15 - 12:28 AM

Beno Udrih didn't step up in the starting lineup against the Wizards on Thursday during 107-87 loss, scoring eight points with two boards, five assists and two turnovers.

With arguably the four best players resting for Memphis tonight, Udrih didn't come through for his fantasy owners. The Grizzlies have five more back-to-back sets coming up and Mike Conley's ankle isn't 100 percent, so Udrih shouldn't be jettisoned in all leagues. Still, if he's still out there on your wire, it's probably for good reason.
Mar 12 - 11:35 PM

Beno Udrih will start for Mike Conley (ankle) for Thursday's game against the Wizards.

Beno will be joined in the starting unit by Courtney Lee, Jeff Green, JaMychal Green, and Kostas Koufos. Lee and Green figure to be Memphis' go-to guys on offense, and they'll be worth a look in daily leagues.

Beno Udrih returned from an illness on Wednesday against the Rockets with four points in 15 minutes.

As long as Mike Conley is active, Udrih is not going to have much value in fantasy leagues. Plus, Nick Calathes is playing good ball right now, too. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 4 - 11:21 PM

Beno Udrih (illness) is available to play vs. the Rockets on Wednesday.

Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger isn't sure how many minutes Udrih will play, as he's not yet 100 percent recovered. Mike Conley and Nick Calathes will absorb extra playing time if Udrih is limited in a tough matchup vs. the third-seed Rockets.
Mar 4 - 6:42 PM

Beno Udrih (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Rockets.

He is averaging just 18.2 minutes per game this season in a backup role behind Mike Conley, so owners in most leagues can ignore this news. Rookie Jordan Adams took most of Udrih's minutes against the Jazz on Tuesday, and he would have another chance to impress head coach Dave Joerger should Udrih sit this one out.
Mar 4 - 12:10 PM

Updating a previous report, Beno Udrih (illness) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. Utah.

Nick Calathes will have the opportunity for some additional playing time tonight, but with averages of just 4.0 points and 2.5 assists on the season, he can't be viewed as a viable option in most leagues.
Mar 3 - 6:40 PM

Beno Udrih (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Jazz.

If Udrih is unable to go on Tuesday, Nick Calathes will pick up most of his reserve minutes, but that doesn't mean much. As long as Mike Conley is healthy, the backup point guards in Memphis won't be worth using in most leagues.
Mar 3 - 6:26 PM

Beno Udrih was able to play through a sore right calf on Wednesday against the Jazz, finishing with seven points, two assists, one board, two steals and one 3-pointer in 18 minutes.

He was originally questionable for Wednesday's game, so it's great to see that the injury didn't cause him to miss any action. His role will continue to be limited as long as Mike Conley is healthy, so there's no reason to hold onto Udrih outside of deeper league for now.
Feb 5 - 2:20 PM

Beno Udrih (right calf) is questionable to play against the Jazz on Wednesday.

This is a new injury for Udrih and he likely sustained it on Monday. If he doesn't play, there should be more minutes going Nick Calathes way tonight. Udrih is not worth owning while Mike Conley is active.
Feb 4 - 5:44 PM

Beno Udrih played 23 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday with 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer.

Thanks to the Grizzlies blowing teams out, Udrih hasn't put up great numbers in his last two starts. It's nice to see the Grizzlies play well without Mike Conley and they might be a little more cautious in putting him back in the lineup. Still, Udrih's fantasy value has a short shelf life.
