Trevor Ariza scored a season-high 25 points with two rebounds, one block, two steals and seven 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday.
If Eric Gordon (calf) does need to miss time, that should allow Ariza to take more 3-pointers. The Rockets were not really using Gordon next to their stud guards, but there will be plenty of shots to go around, especially from deep. He can get hot in a hurry. Nov 22 - 11:41 PM

Trevor Ariza scored a season-high 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors, adding eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and five 3-pointers.

After a disastrous October with 6.2 points per game on 24.4 percent shooting, Ariza has found his rhythm again and is producing second-round value in standard 9-category leagues in November with 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.4 triples. If you stuck with him during the bad times, Ariza made up for it by carrying his owners over the past two weeks.
Nov 14 - 11:11 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting vs. Indiana on Sunday, with all of his shot attempts coming from downtown.

This epitomizes Ariza's offensive role with Houston, and he became the 14th player since 1983 to take at least 12 shots without a single 2-point attempt. He didn't get to the free-throw line, either, but rounded out his line with five rebounds, two steals and one assist. His fantasy owners will take it.
Nov 12 - 9:22 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 17 points in 43 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday, adding four rebounds, two assists, two steals and three 3-pointers.

Some of the other Rockets were in foul trouble and Ariza had to stick LeBron James a lot in this game, but Ariza did a decent job all game. As per usual, it's been bombs away for Ariza with three consecutive games of eight attempts before his 11 tonight. He did come into this game at just 34.7 percent from the field on the year, but hardcore Ariza fans know he's typically been a slow starter -- last year was an exception. Ariza should still be able to flirt with top-50 value once he starts to make more shots.
Nov 9 - 11:29 PM

Trevor Ariza hit 5-of-9 shots and four 3-[pointers for 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists in Wednesday's win over the Knicks.

Since returning from his foot injury Ariza had hit just 5-of-18 shots over his last two games. Hopefully this is a sign that his foot problem is behind him and he starts scoring in double figures regularly, while racking up threes, rebounds, assists and steals.
Nov 2 - 12:38 AM

Trevor Ariza hit just 3-of-12 shots and 1-of-9 3-pointers for seven points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 37 minutes.

It was just a few days ago that Mike D'Antoni predicted that Ariza would miss 3-4 weeks with a foot injury, so it might very well still be bothering him. Having said that, the minutes were very high so Ariza is probably feeling OK. Just chalk this up to a bad night and hope his foot issue is a thing of the past going forward.
Oct 30 - 11:26 PM

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said he was surprised that Trevor Ariza (foot) was able to return to the lineup so quickly.

MDA added that he was expecting Ariza to be out for 3-4 weeks, but he only ended up missing two games before returning on Saturday. The two-way forward is off to a slow start to the season, but he has early-round upside when his shot is falling which makes him a hold in standard category leagues.
Oct 30 - 10:59 AM

Trevor Ariza (foot) returned to the lineup Saturday at Memphis, finishing with 10 points.

Ariza finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists across 36 minutes, so he didn't appear to have any setbacks in his return to the lineup. It appears safe to trust him in your active fantasy lineup heading into the new scoring period.
Oct 28 - 11:48 PM

Trevor Ariza (foot) is active for Saturday night against the Grizziles.

He returns slightly earlier than expected and the timing couldn't be better with Eric Gordon (illness) out today. Coach Mike D'Antoni said he wanted his team to shoot 60 treys on Friday, so expect Ariza to be firing away in his first game back.
Oct 28 - 6:40 PM

Trevor Ariza (foot) has been upgraded to questionable in advance of the Rockets matchup with the Grizzlies on Saturday night.

Ariza is clearly headed in the right direction. The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Ariza "has improved rapidly" and was able to shoot around on Friday. Even if he is unable to play on Saturday, it appears Ariza has a good chance to return to the lineup early next week. The Rockets play the Sixers on Monday and the Knicks on Tuesday. Luc Mbah a Moute will be bumped back to the bench upon Ariza's return.
Oct 28 - 11:55 AM

Trevor Ariza (sprained left foot) has been improving "rapidly," according to the Houston Chronicle.

The Chronicle also reported that Ariza was able to get some shots up on Friday. Ariza has already been ruled out of Saturday's game, but it appears he may be able to return to practice relatively soon. We should have an update on Ariza's status by early next week, if not over the weekend. Luc Mbah a Moute is expected to remain in the starting lineup while Ariza is sidelined, with P.J. Tucker seeing additional minutes off the bench.
Oct 28 - 10:04 AM

Trevor Ariza won't play on Wednesday, Friday or Saturday due to his foot injury.

The Rockets don't know how long he'll be out, but it sounds more like soreness than a serious injury. Luc Mbah a Moute will start, while P.J. Tucker should also get plenty of run in his absence.
Oct 25 - 3:57 PM

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said he doesn't know how long Trevor Ariza (sprained left foot) will be out.

"He's getting it checked," D'Antoni said. "It's sore. I don't think there's anything structurally wrong. Now, it's just a matter of how much tissue damage there is. I don't know." Ariza underwent examinations on his foot on Tuesday, but we're still waiting on the results. Despite his slow start to the season, fantasy owners need to sit tight and continue to stash the forward. Luc Mbah a Moute will move into the starting lineup with Ariza out, but P.J. Tucker also gets a bump off the bench and is the better fantasy option.
Oct 25 - 9:24 AM

Trevor Ariza (sprained left foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. the Sixers.

Ariza had his left foot stepped on Monday night, and it was reported early Tuesday that he "could miss some time this week." Ariza currently leads the team in minutes played (35.2 minutes per contest), so there will be plenty of playing time up for grabs on Wednesday. P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute would be the two most likely candidates to replace Ariza in the starting lineup, but both are defensive-minded players with limited fantasy appeal.
Oct 24 - 12:08 PM

Trevor Ariza's struggles continued on Monday, as he finished with two points (a pair of free throws) and missed all five of his shots from the field.

He played a whopping 40 minutes, adding four assists, five rebounds and a steal. Ariza is in a major slump right now and is shooting a combined 6-of-27 (22.2 percent) from the field through four games. Ariza has early-round upside when his shot is falling, so there's a lot of buy-low appeal here. Don't drop him, but feel free to bench him until he heats up.
