Trevor Ariza returned from a bout with the flu, but probably should have stayed in bed, missing all six of his shots and failing to score in an overtime loss to the Bobcats.
Ariza had a nice season and has been sick for some time, and clearly wasn't feeling great tonight. He should bounce back in the next one, assuming he plays in it. Apr 9 - 9:49 PM

Trevor Ariza (flu) went through Wednesday's shootaround and he's been cleared to play vs. the Bobcats.

Ariza recently overcame a groin injury but it was the flu that caused him to struggle in Washington's previous two games. Ariza has been a steady fantasy option all year, and since the All-Star break he's averaging 14.8 points, 2.4 threes, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 35 minutes per game.

Trevor Ariza (flu) did not practice Monday, leaving him questionable to play Wednesday.

He scored two points in 30 minutes on Saturday and clearly wasn't his usual self. With multiple days to rest before Washington's next game, however, fantasy owners can be reasonably confident that he'll be in uniform.
Apr 7 - 1:28 PM

Trevor Ariza made just 1-of-9 from the field for two points in 30 minutes vs. the Bulls on Saturday, adding seven boards, two steals and one block.

This type of line was common for Ariza the past few seasons, but he's avoided most of these duds all season. He's knocking down 2.4 triples per game this season, which is tied for seventh in the NBA and he has become one of the best value picks in standard league drafts. He'll be fine and should rebound on Wednesday vs. the Bobcats.
Apr 5 - 9:18 PM

Trevor Ariza (flu) played through his illness on Friday, scoring 10 points while playing good defense vs. a hobbled Carmelo Anthony.

Ariza shot 3-of-9 from the field with one 3-pointer and four rebounds, but owners can't hold his quiet night against him since gave it all he had in 36 minutes of action. The Wizards have won four of their past five games, and with Nene (knee) due to return this week they should be in good shape for the start of the playoffs.
Apr 5 - 1:17 PM

Trevor Ariza (groin) played 30 minutes against the Bobcats on Monday with 11 points, two boards, one assist and three 3-pointers.

He had a minor injury on Saturday and it didn't seem to hinder him tonight. Ariza only made one 3-pointer in each of his previous four his longest stretch without a multiple triple game, so the added treys were nice to see. He's a must-start player.
Mar 31 - 10:22 PM

Trevor Ariza (groin) will play against the Bobcats on Monday.

He was never in jeopardy to miss this game after a minor injury on Saturday. Ariza has been a terrific asset in fantasy leagues and his owners should not hesitate to lock him into their lineups.
Mar 31 - 5:41 PM

Trevor Ariza (groin) felt fine while going through shootaround on Monday, and he's expected to play vs. the Bobcats.

We'll keep an eye on his status in case something changes prior to tip-off, but it sounds safe to trot him out there in fantasy leagues. Ariza is also fighting through Achilles tendinitis and the Wizards may eventually give him a night off once their playoff position is locked up, but for now he'll fight through the injuries to help Washington chase the fifth-seed Nets.
Mar 31 - 12:15 PM

Trevor Ariza took a nasty spill during Saturday's win vs. the Hawks, injuring his left groin and he is questionable to suit up for Monday's game vs. Charlotte.

Ariza was able to finish the game, but he was spotted limping out of the training room with his left leg bandaged and said his plan was to get "a lot of treatment" before the team leaves for Charlotte. Ariza is a bit of a warrior, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him give it a go on Monday, but for now nothing is certain. Check back for more updates closer to the tip as we'll be monitoring this situation closely.
Mar 30 - 11:52 AM

Trevor Ariza played 40 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday with 14 points, eight boards, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

He had some Achilles tendinitis earlier this week and obviously 40 minutes tonight puts to rest any concerns of it bothering him enough to cost him playing time. Ariza has shot the ball extremely well this month and is locked in as a must-start player in standard leagues.
Mar 26 - 10:10 PM

Trevor Ariza (Achilles) went through shootaround on Wednesday and seems probable to play vs. the Suns.

He didn't appear to have any limitations and should start tonight. Ariza is dealing with some tendinitis in his Achilles and it has yet to cost him playing time. His owners can keep him locked in to their lineups in what should be a fun game to watch.
Mar 26 - 3:12 PM

Trevor Ariza has developed tendinitis in his right Achilles, but coach Randy Wittman doesn't believe that the injury is serious.

Ariza hasn't missed a game since November and he's averaging nearly 36 minutes per game in March. While this may not be an imminent threat to his availability, any Achilles injury demands to be taken seriously and we'll keep a close eye on him in the coming weeks.
Mar 25 - 2:25 PM

Trevor Ariza hit 5-of-13 shots and two 3-pointers for 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals in Tuesday's loss.

Ariza left the game briefly to stop his nose from bleeding, but he should be fine going forward. He had 21 points, 11 boards and four 3-pointers on Friday, but scored nine or fewer points in three of his last four games before scoring 12 tonight. He's in a slump, but could break out of it at any time.
Mar 19 - 1:56 AM

Trevor Ariza scored 21 points on 6-of-16 shooting (4-of-8 3PTs, 5-of-6 FTs) with 11 rebounds, five assists and one steal in Friday's win over the Magic.

Even with Bradley Beal around the trio of Ariza, Marcin Gortat (19 points, 14 boards, three assists, one steal, two blocks, 7-of-8 FTs) and John Wall (21 points, four threes, five boards, 11 assists) are desired fantasy assets. If Beal misses significant time with his ankle injury, you're going to see these guys on even more fantasy championship squads.
Mar 15 - 1:13 AM

Trevor Ariza shot 9-of-12 from the field for 28 points against the Bucks on Saturday with seven boards, two assists and five 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

He's so hot right now. Ariza's made an astonishing 67.7 percent of his makes from downtown in his four March games, which is good for 5.2 treys per game and an effective field goal percentage of 81.9. He has first-round value on the season in standard leagues and nobody will be sleeping on him next year.
