Trevor Ariza scored 19 points with seven rebounds, two steals and four 3-pointers in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors.
He was coming off a five-point dud vs. the Blazers, so he redeemed himself tonight. Luckily for Ariza, he will get another shot to get revenge against Portland on Wednesday in a game that will have plenty of playoff-race implications. Ariza should be treated as a top-40 player moving forward as long as he continues to start as the stretch four. Feb 10 - 2:17 AM

Trevor Ariza scored five points with five rebounds, four steals and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

At least the steals were there in Ariza's worst game since the lineup change. Before this dud, he was putting up first-round value as the starting power forward. Keep him active and it's fair to expect him to be a top-40 player going forward.
Feb 6 - 8:04 PM

Trevor Ariza went off again with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists, four steals and three 3-pointers against the Suns on Thursday.

He was killer as a power forward last year with Kevin McHale, but now he's rolling in that role again with coach J.B. Bickerstaff. Since being shifted to power forward back on Jan. 22, he averaged 17.9 points, 4.3 boards, 2.5 assists, 2.4 steals and 3.8 treys. That's good for top-10 value in that span and has boosted him to fourth-round value on the year now. If you bought low, you look really smart.
Feb 5 - 12:26 AM

Trevor Ariza hit just 4-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer, but finished Tuesday's game with nine points, four rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block.

He wasn't great tonight, but did a little bit of everything, salvaging a decent line. He was red hot a week ago, but has scored nine or fewer points in three of his last four games. He should go on another hot streak at some point, but it's anyone's guess as to when it happens.
Feb 2 - 11:19 PM

Trevor Ariza scored eight points with six rebounds, five assists, five steals, one block and two 3-pointers against the Thunder on Friday.

The bad news is he only made 3-of-12 from the field, but that's OK with all these other stats. He's really picked it up lately and clearly the small-ball lineup is helping him. Ariza did the same exact thing last year because he didn't light it up until January, so he could still be a fantasy stud going forward.
Jan 30 - 12:08 AM

Trevor Ariza poured in a season-high 31 points in Monday's 112-111 win over the Pelicans, shooting 11-of-16 from the field.

He must really like starting at the four. Ariza was coming off his previous season-high of 29 points against the Mavs on Sunday, so he is reaping the benefits of the Rockets' small-ball lineups. He also added five boards, three assists, three steals, one block and an incredible eight 3-pointers in the win, and he now has a total of 19 3-pointers in his last three games. He won't be this good going forward, but he could be a beast during the second half of the season.
Jan 25 - 11:01 PM

Trevor Ariza scored a season-high 29 points in a comeback win over the Mavs on Sunday, adding six 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists, three steals and zero turnovers.

Ariza has been getting things done as Houston’s starting power forward with Dwight Howard (back) on the sidelines, and over the past two he’s compiled averages of 24.0 points, 5.5 three-pointers, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game while knocking down an unsustainably ridiculous 80.0 percent of his shots. Ariza tends to be a second-half of the year player, so perhaps this hot two-game stretch is a sign of things to come.
Jan 24 - 6:14 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 19 points against the Bucks on Friday with five rebounds, two assists, one block and five 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

He matched his season high in treys tonight and started at power forward for the first time all season. Ariza thrived in his minutes as a power forward last year and he should benefit while Dwight Howard (ankle) is out. Maybe he can be consistent.
Jan 23 - 1:34 AM

Trevor Ariza made 6-of-11 from the field for 18 points with two rebounds, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes against the Clippers on Monday.

He is finally coming around and has looked very good in his last eight. In that span, Ariza made 46.3 percent from the field with averages of 12.8 points, 3.8 boards, 1.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.3 treys. He has fifth-round value in that span and is earning more shots. Plus, last year Ariza was trash until January, but then busted out as an early-round guy after that. Maybe he'll repeat.
Jan 19 - 1:45 AM

Trevor Ariza scored just eight points on 3-of-9 shooting Friday, with two 3-pointers, four boards, one assist and two steals in 34 minutes.

Ariza is producing just late-middle round value on the season behind averages of 11.4 points, 4.8 boards, 1.8 steals and 2.1 three-pointers per game, and it's his 39.2 percent shooting clip that has really weighed him down this season. However, he struggled with his shot during the early goings of the 2014-15 season as well, and ended up finishing the year as a third-round guy after the All-Star break (shooting 45.2 percent). He's a reasonable buy-low target.
Jan 16 - 1:50 AM

Trevor Ariza led the Rockets in Sunday's overtime win over the Pacers with 24 points and five 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Ariza shot 8-of-14 from the field and 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, adding five boards with three turnovers. The 24 points were a season high, and he has now hit two or more 3-pointers in seven straight games. To make things even better, Ariza scored 14 of his 24 points after the third quarter which could do wonders for his confidence moving forward.
Jan 10 - 9:56 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 13 points with four boards, four steals and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes vs. the Jazz on Monday.

Ariza has scored in double digits in five straight games, giving him averages of 12.0 points, 2.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.4 3-pointers in that span. That's only good for top-85 value in standard leagues, but he is trending in the right direction again after a rough showing in December.
Jan 5 - 12:13 AM

Trevor Ariza had 10 points, two steals and two 3-pointers on 4-of-10 shooting in 25 minutes of Saturday's loss.

Ariza has been failing to meet expectations lately and tonight was no different. He's averaging 10.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.0 3-pointers over his last five games on 40 percent shooting, but that's a far cry from what owners who drafted him were expecting. Maybe he'll get it figured out soon, but the future's not exactly looking bright for Ariza given his play thus far.
Jan 3 - 12:27 AM

Trevor Ariza scored 16 points with two rebounds, four assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday.

That's better after his awful seven-point Christmas game. Ariza was starting to turn the corner earlier this month and his owners shouldn't be too concerned based on how he did the same thing with his slow start last year.
Sat, Dec 26, 2015 11:02:00 PM

Trevor Ariza made 2-of-4 from the field and both free throws for seven points against the Spurs on Friday with four rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

Excluding games in which he was hurt, this was the fewest shots he's had in a game. Ariza has been very quiet in his last three with just 13 points combined in his previous two games. He did show signs of life before that, so expect Ariza to have better numbers going forward.
