Trevor Ariza is confident that the Rockets will be able to build on what they accomplished this season.
"Not every team comes together and wins straight away," Ariza said. "When you do have that and you do find something that works, you want to continue. You want to build on that. Hopefully for us, we’ll be one of those teams that builds on what we accomplished." The Rockets were trounced by the Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals, but considering how many injuries they had to deal with this season, Houston has to be feeling confident about the future. As for Ariza, he was phenomenal in the playoffs with averages of 13.2 points, 6.4 boards, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.1 3-pointers per game. May 31 - 11:08 AM

Terrence Jones scored 14 points with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer while Jason Terry added 10 points and four assists. Dwight Howard also had a nice game with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and three turnovers. This was also the first game ever in which both teams each made at least 15 treys. The Warriors also attempted 46 attempts from deep, which is also a record. Game 5 will be in Oakland on Wednesday.

Trevor Ariza was brilliant in 34 minutes during Tuesday's Game 1 loss, scoring 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting with four 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Ariza played a quintessential '3 and D' role tonight, locking down multiple assignments defensively while stretching the Warriors' defense as a sharp-shooter. He's averaging 4.2 triples on 53.8 percent shooting from downtown over Houston's past five games, solidifying himself one of the most versatile weapons in the Rockets' arsenal.

Trevor "A-three-za" was phenomenal during the Rockets Game 7 win on Sunday, scoring 22 points (6-of-14 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two turnovers through 43 minutes of action.

Ariza was Houston's second-leading scorer in this one, and his effort from start-to-finish was fantastic. He's had a very nice postseason run thus far, averaging 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.2 three-pointers and 1.7 steals per game, while playing some lock down defense holding his opponents to just 39.7 percent shooting from the field. He'll likely spend some time picking up Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in the Western Conference Finals, and the Rockets will need his defense and 3-point shooting if they hope to upset the West's No. 1 seed.
May 17 - 7:13 PM

Houston came into Game 5 averaging 9.4 triples on 33.9 percent shooting from downtown in the postseason, both of which are lower than their regular-season averages (11.4 makes on 34.8 percent shooting). Ariza went 4-of-6 from deep tonight but the Rockets still shot 31.0 percent from downtown overall, and they'll need to sharpen their perimeter attack to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Trevor Ariza hit 7-of-13 shots (including two threes) for 17 points, five boards, four assists, three steals and one block in Monday's Game 1 loss to the Clippers.

Ariza couldn't hit the broadside of the barn last series and it would be fairly shocking if he had two bad series in a row. Consider riding him as he heats back up.
May 5 - 12:55 AM

Trevor Ariza promised the Rockets would have a bounce-back effort in Game 5 on Tuesday.

After a lackluster effort in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Mavericks, Ariza promised there would be no Game 5 repeat. "They played harder than we did," Ariza said. "Tuesday, that won't happen again." Ariza has seen his numbers dip in the postseason as he's only averaging 9.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 three-pointers on 29.7 percent shooting from the field, so we'll look for him to fulfill his promised breakout against the Mavs on Tuesday.

Trevor Ariza was a wonderful two-way player against the Mavs on Saturday with 12 points, 10 boards, six assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

The points don't tell the story. Ariza was a terror on defense and getting a double-double with six dimes went a long way. On the injury side of things, Ariza did have some cramping in both of his calves and he did receive some treatment. There's been no indication that he'll need to miss time going forward and this hasn't been a habitual problem for him. We're expecting him to be ready for Tuesday.

Ariza isn't a consistent scorer, but his ability to offer a little bit of everything on the stat sheet is fantasy gold. Ariza is logging heavy minutes for the Rockets on a nightly basis, and his ability to fill up every category on the stat sheet while offering elite steals totals has him turning in early-round value on the season. Get ready for him to put on a show during the Rockets upcoming four-game week.
Mar 29 - 4:27 PM

That's his fourth game in his last five tries with at least four dimes and he's really stepped up as more than just a catch-and-shoot guy. In that span, Ariza averaged 15.0 points, 8.6 boards, 4.0 dimes, 1.8 steals and 2.4 treys on 55.8 percent from the field and 100 percent from the line. He's getting hot for his fantasy owners at the right time. James Harden was no slouch with 25 points, six rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.
