Trevor Ariza had 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, one 3-pointer, two rebounds, three assists and four steals to help the Rockets defeat the visiting Warriors on Sunday.
Ariza is coming off a career-best season in which he averaged 14.4 points, 2.3 triples, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He was playing in a contract year while absorbing easy 3-point attempts courtesy of John Wall, however, so fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to repeat those stellar numbers. As the unquestioned starting SF in an up-tempo offense he's still worth a pick in the middle rounds. Oct 19 - 11:00 PM

Trevor Ariza is excited to begin his second stint with the Houston Rockets.

Ariza last played with the Yao Ming-led Rockets during the 2009-10 season and is looking forward to his second go-round with the team. ""This time is different. Everyone is healthy, We all want to win a championships and that is what is driving the bus," Ariza said. "I am definitely better at shooting the ball and defensively, I just give everything I have when I am on the court." While he may have a tough time duplicating his 2013-14 numbers, the 29-year-old is still a solid middle-to-late round fantasy pick as he should be a great fit for Houston's up-tempo offense.
Oct 2 - 12:02 PM

Trevor Ariza said he joined the Rockets because he was "familiar" with his surroundings.

"I just felt like the fit here was similar to what I had in Washington," Ariza said. It sounds like the Rockets and Wizards offered very similar money, but Ariza went with the four-year, $32 million offer from the Rockets. He's a great fit with Houston's up-tempo, triple-happy offense and he should be able to put up solid numbers.
Jul 21 - 11:36 AM

Trevor Ariza has agreed to sign with the Rockets on a four-year, $32 million deal.

Well, Houston can say goodbye to Chandler Parsons, who will now go to Dallas on a three-year deal. Ariza scored a career-high 14.9 points in his one season with the Rockets back in 2009-10 and he'll move into the small forward spot. He was lights out in catch-and-shoot, finishing the season making 40.7 percent of his shots from deep. He's a great fit in Houston for their style of play and is worth targeting in the middle rounds.
Jul 12 - 5:29 PM

The Rockets are "seriously pursuing" Trevor Ariza, indicating that they may not be ready to match Chandler Parsons' three-year, $46 million offer sheet.

Houston was also chasing Luol Deng but they've fallen out of the running. If the Rockets ultimately decide to keep Parsons despite his hefty price tag, the Mavericks' attention would immediately turn to Ariza, Deng and possibly Lance Stephenson as they seek to replace free agent Shawn Marion.
Jul 12 - 2:11 PM

The Mavericks appear to be resigned to the fact the Rockets are going to match their offer sheet to Chandler Parsons, meaning Dallas will now turn it's sights to guys like Trevor Ariza and Luol Deng.

Ariza is younger and has more gas left in the tank, while Deng is a more consistent and reliable option. Either way, it would be pretty shocking at this point if both Chris Bosh and Chandler Parsons aren't both in the Rockets starting lineup next season.
Jul 11 - 2:17 PM

Trevor Ariza is being pursued by the Mavericks, Lakers, Heat and Cavaliers.

He is seeking a deal in the $9-11 million range, which would be a little to rich for the Heat if they're able to bring back all of the Big Three. Ariza is one of several wings who will likely be a consolation prize after LeBron and Carmelo Anthony make their decisions.
Jul 7 - 2:03 PM

Free agent Trevor Ariza spoke with Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld on Tuesday night to "potentially work out a deal."

Ariza has no shortage of suitors around the league, but many of those teams are hedging their bets while Carmelo Anthony is still available. The Wizards' ability to quickly lock up Marcin Gortat may have "inspired" Ariza to pursue a similarly quick deal in free agency, and it can't hurt that he's coming off a career-best season alongside John Wall with newly re-signed coach Randy Wittman at the helm. It shouldn't take long for more details to surface.
Jul 2 - 1:21 AM

The Wizards are sending team personnel to Los Angeles to convince unrestricted free agent Trevor Ariza to re-sign with the team.

Director of player development Ed Tapscott will meet with Ariza on Tuesday and there were reports that head coach Randy Wittman had made the trip as well. Ariza is coming off one of the best seasons of his career in which he averaged 14.4 points, 2.3 three-pointers, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals and is rumored to have multiple suitors that include the Wizards and the Cavaliers. The 29-year-old had some trouble staying healthy previous to the 2013-14 season, but can be a promising fantasy asset when healthy as he is able to provide value in most categories.
Jul 1 - 9:30 AM

Trevor Ariza is drawing "significant interest" from the Cavs and also around the league according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Ariza has been linked to more teams than we want to list here, so let's see if anybody other than Cleveland bubbles to the top of the list.
Jul 1 - 1:13 AM

Randy Wittman is flying out to Los Angeles to meet with pending unrestricted free agent Trevor Ariza.

Ariza is going to be a popular name during free agency as the veteran put up career-high numbers across the board last season with 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.3 three-pointers per game. Once a defensive specialist, Ariza is now the total package, and he was a big factor in the Wizards winning their first second-round playoff game since 1982. While the Wizards seem to be the frontrunners to retain Ariza's services, the Lakers, Clippers, Mavericks, Rockets, and Suns will also be making pitches.
Jun 30 - 7:06 PM

The Lakers are expected to have "strong interest" in signing free agent SF Trevor Ariza.

Ariza is coming off a solid season with the Wizards, who remain one of the leading candidates to sign him, but they'll face competition from the Lakers, Clippers, Mavericks, Rockets and Suns. During his 10-year career, Ariza has grown from a defensive specialist to a quality all-around player, and he averaged 14.4 points while shooting a career-best 40.7 percent from downtown last season (2.3 triples per game).
Jun 29 - 3:53 PM

The Wizards will visit unrestricted free agent Trevor Ariza after Marcin Gortat this summer.

The Wizards will send a contingent of front-office guys along with coach Randy Wittman to Portland to talk with Gortat, so presumably the same group will head to meet with Ariza. The swingman had a magnificent season in DC, but the team doesn't need him quite as badly as Gortat since they do have Martell Webster and 2013 lottery pick Otto Porter. Still, Ariza is a very high priority for the Wizards.
Jun 27 - 9:38 AM

Trevor Ariza said on Thursday that the Wizards will "100 percent" be on his short-list of destinations as an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The 28-year-old Ariza averaged 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals this season, setting himself up for a big payday in free agency. He poured in 2.3 triples per game, to his fantasy owners' delight, and shot even better in the postseason when he made 44.6 percent of his attempts from downtown. His solid defense and ability to stretch the court offensively should have him high on most team's wish-lists.
May 17 - 9:14 AM

Trevor Ariza made all six attempts from beyond the arc in Game 1's 102-96 win over the Pacers, scoring a total of 22 points with six boards, two assists, one steal and no turnovers.

The Wizards were taking care of business in the first quarter with 10 fast-break points and 14 of their 28 points in that frame coming from Ariza. As a team, they shot 10-of-16 from downtown and the Wizards were extremely late on their defensive rotations. John Wall caused too many breakdowns and the Pacers will have to figure out a way to keep him from out of the paint. Wall hasn't been shooting the ball well himself and finished with 13 points, five boards, nine assists, one steal, two blocks and one turnover.
