Trevor Ariza scored 17 points with five rebounds, five assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 46 minutes against the Spurs on Friday.
He was on fire in the first half with five 3-pointers before halftime, but disappeared in the second half on offense. Ariza has the unenviable task of guarding Spur/robot Kawhi Leonard and he's actually done a better job than the Grizzlies were doing. Ariza should be a decent DFS play just because his minutes will be in the 40s. May 6 - 12:15 AM

Trevor Ariza scored 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting in Monday's Game 1 win over the Spurs.

Ariza struggled in the previous round with 6.2 points per game on 34.4 percent shooting, but snapped out of his funk in a big way tonight. He grabbed four rebounds with two assists, two steals and five triples, helping the Rockets set a new franchise record with 22 3-pointers made on 50 attempts. Eric Gordon added 11 points and three triples off the bench, Ryan Anderson had 14 points and four triples and Lou Williams had 13 points and a pair of 3-pointers.
May 2 - 12:46 AM

Trevor Ariza scored 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting during Sunday's Game 4 win over the Thunder, adding three 3-pointers, five boards, three assists, three steals and one turnover in 43 minutes.

Ariza was the only Rockets' starter to make at least 50 percent of his shot attempts, and with his perfect 3-of-3 mark from the charity stripe, he turned in a sterling true shooting percentage of 75.1. Ariza, surprisingly, hadn't connected on a single 3-pointer through the first three games of this series, so tonight's stat line can be explained as a regression to the mean.
Apr 23 - 7:08 PM

Trevor Ariza returned from a one-game absence on Monday vs. the Clippers, but struggled with six points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes.

He missed all seven of his 3-point attempts, and considering he led the Rockets in minutes played with 36, there's a good chance he sits again on Wednesday vs. the Wolves -- the Rockets are locked in as the No. 3 seed in the West.
Apr 11 - 1:30 AM

Trevor Ariza (rest) will not suit up for Sunday's game against Sacramento.

With Ariza receiving a rest day, we'll likely see Troy Williams return to the starting lineup, and he could be someone to consider as a potential 3-point streamer. Ariza owners can expect to have him back in action on Monday night vs. the Clippers.
Apr 9 - 3:56 PM

Trevor Ariza has been flourishing at power forward over the last two weeks.

With Ryan Anderson (ankle) sidelined, Ariza has played some of his best basketball of the season. Over his last five games, Ariza is averaging 16.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 3.0 treys, while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from 3-point territory. "It's a little different," Ariza said. "From the top of the floor, you get to see the whole defense set. You get to be a bit of a playmaker." Unfortunately for Ariza owners, Anderson will return soon, possibly as early as Friday night vs. the Pistons.
Apr 7 - 10:59 AM

Trevor Ariza returned from a one-game absence on Wednesday with 15 points and 10 rebounds, hitting 6-of-12 shots (3-of-6 from downtown) with one assist and one steal.

Ariza logged 38 minutes after sitting out on Sunday for personal reasons. He hasn't played fewer than 30 minutes since mid-March and the Rockets seem philosophically opposed to resting their key guys, so Ariza should continue to post subtly terrific roto value in the final week of the regular season.
Apr 6 - 12:22 AM

Trevor Ariza (personal) will be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday following a one-game absence.

With both Ariza and James Harden (illness) getting back to the court tonight, Troy Williams will be asked to focus more so on the defensive end, so don't expect him to go off for six triples again. Ariza owners can feel free to get him active.
Apr 5 - 12:58 PM

Trevor Ariza (personal) went through Wednesday's morning's shootaround.

He's on track to play Wednesday after missing Sunday's game due to a death in his family, which will result in Eric Gordon heading back to the second unit. It looks like Troy Williams may stick with the starting group tonight, but his minutes will likely be reduced to the low-20s tonight and he won't have nearly as many scoring opportunities with both Ariza and James Harden (illness) expected to play.
Apr 5 - 11:53 AM

Trevor Ariza (personal) will not play on Sunday vs. the Suns.

He's away from the team due to a death in his family. James Harden (illness) is not expected to play either, so the Rockets will start Sam Dekker and Troy Williams on the wings. Dekker looks like the better punt in DFS.
Apr 2 - 1:55 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 17 points with five rebounds, two assists, six steals and three 3-pointers against the Blazers on Thursday.

He joins Kyrie Irving and Chris Paul as the only players with at least six steals in consecutive games this season. Ariza is about as hot as it gets over his last three, averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 boards, 3.7 assists, 5.0 steals and 3.3 treys. His boom-or-busy ways can be annoying, but his fantasy owners have to be loving it right now.
Mar 31 - 1:20 AM

Trevor Ariza hit 4-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer for 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and a season-high six steals in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors.

Ariza had 24 points, three steals and six 3-pointers in his previous game and is averaging 14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.5 3-pointers over his last four games. If he was dumped in your league, it's time to grab him.
Mar 28 - 11:07 PM

Trevor Ariza got hot from beyond the arc on Sunday, draining six 3-pointers on his way to 24 points, six boards, six assists, three steals, one block and two turnovers in 37 minutes.

Ariza has been hit-or-miss this season but over the past six, he's been flirting with top-20 value behind averages of 12.7 points, 2.5 triples, 6.5 boards, 2.0 dimes, 1.7 steals and just 0.7 turnovers per contest on 52.8 percent shooting. The sky-high field goal percentage isn't sustainable, but with Ryan Anderson (ankle) set to spend the next couple weeks on the sidelines, Ariza should have more minutes and shot attempts coming his way. He's trending up at the perfect time for his owners.
Mar 26 - 6:51 PM

Trevor Ariza scored two points with nine rebounds, one assist and one block in 34 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Just when you thought he was rolling again, Ariza is back to being cold. He only scored eight points on Friday after his 20-point Wednesday. Ariza hasn't been great since the break, but his minutes haven't fallen off like some others and another reason he's fallen off is because of a drop in steals while not making as many treys. Even as a bit of a headache, Ariza is still a must-start guy.
Mar 19 - 1:23 AM

Trevor Ariza made 7-of-9 from the field for 20 points with three rebounds, two assists, four steals and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Lakers on Wednesday.

It took a while, but Ariza finally looks like he's back. In his last five games, he's averaged 13.8 points, 6.8 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.6 treys on 50.0 percent from the field. Ariza had a miserable February, which was odd because he's usually money in the second half. For now, his owners can go back to expecting must-start value with early-round upside.
