Trevor Ariza scored 15 points with five rebounds, one assist and three triples in 31 minutes vs. the Spurs on Monday.
That's more like it. Ariza entered this contest hitting just 1-of-16 from 3-point range in his previous three games, but he found his rhythm tonight and finished 5-of-9 from the field and 3-of-7 from deep. He has early-round upside when his shot is falling, but things can get pretty ugly when it isn't. He gets a matchup with the Clippers on Thursday. Mar 12 - 11:27 PM

Trevor Ariza shot 1-of-10 from the field on Sunday, including a 1-of-9 mark from downtown, scoring three points with two rebounds, two assists and one block in 35 minutes.

The usage was fine and Ariza will shoot 40% from deep more often than not, so owners should shrug off this dud. He's usually the archetypal player who thrives in roto without impressing owners in points leagues -- he had at least two steals in each of his previous five games, and drained at least three 3-pointers during a six-game span from Feb. 23 - Mar. 6. Keep him locked into active lineups.

Trevor Ariza scored 21 points with three rebounds, two assists, three assists and four 3-pointers 34 minutes against the Celtics on Saturday.

Even with the big scoring game, Ariza was terrific on the defensive end and made timely plays. Ariza had a bright green light with 13 attempts from deep and now he's made at least three treys in each of his five games, averaging 13.2 points, 4.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.2 treys. He's locked in as a must-start player in standard leagues.
Mar 3 - 11:27 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 14 points with six rebounds and one steal in 33 minutes on Sunday, making 5-of-7 shots with a 3-of-4 mark from downtown.

Ariza, who recently missed nine games with a hamstring strain, could play fewer minutes with coach Mike D'Antoni willing to use a deeper rotation. "[If players] don't get all hung up on stats or numbers, then yeah, it's definitely a benefit," D'Antoni said about a deep rotation. Ariza said his playing time "doesn't really matter, as long as when I'm out there, I play my hardest." That wasn't such an issue tonight without Eric Gordon (illness), but is worth monitoring down the stretch. Regardless, Ariza is a solid mid-round option in category-based leagues.
Feb 26 - 12:01 AM

Trevor Ariza (hamstring) returned to action on Friday vs. the Wolves, scoring 11 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and three triples.

He didn't have any formal restrictions despite missing three weeks, but didn't see his usual workload with 26 minutes. He's been working out at full speed for over a week and obviously seemed fine tonight, so it won't be long before he's getting his normal allotment of minutes in the 30s. He'll look to build on this performance on Sunday vs. Denver. When his shot is falling, Ariza is usually an early mid-round fantasy asset.
Feb 23 - 11:55 PM

Trevor Ariza (hamstring) is starting on Friday vs. the Wolves.

The Rockets will go with a starting lineup of Chris Paul, James Harden, Ariza, P.J. Tucker and Clint Capela, so Luc Mbah a Moute will shift to the bench. Ariza has been working out at full speed for over a week, so it will be interesting to see how many minutes he can handle tonight. Gerald Green could remain in the rotation tonight with Eric Gordon (illness) not feeling well.
Feb 23 - 6:22 PM

Trevor Ariza (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday, and he will play on Friday against the Wolves.

He's been working out full speed for at least a week, so he should be ready to roll for Friday night and may not even have restrictions. Ariza suffered his injury on Jan. 28, so he's had three weeks to recover. His return means Luc Mbah a Moute, P.J. Tucker and Gerald Green will lose minutes. Ariza should be owned in all leagues.
Feb 21 - 4:52 PM

Coach Mike D'Antoni said that Trevor Ariza (hamstring) is close to returning, but the Rockets have decided to keep him out through the All-Star break.

Ariza has already been ruled out of Tuesday's game vs. the Wolves. He will remain sidelined for Wednesday's matchup vs. Sacramento. Coach D'Antoni told reporters that Ariza "could probably return" from his strained hamstring, but "with no real practice time and the break coming after [Wednesday's) game," the Rockets will hold him out. P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute will continue to log additional minutes.
Feb 13 - 6:44 PM

Trevor Ariza (hamstring) is listed as out for Tuesday's game vs. the Wolves.

No surprise here, as coach Mike D'Antoni recently said Ariza doesn't have a timetable. We fully expect the Rockets to hold him out through the All-Star break. The Rockets will continue to use a committee approach to soak up Ariza's minutes.
Feb 12 - 12:49 PM

Coach Mike D'Antoni said there is no timetable on Trevor Ariza (hamstring), but that Ariza is "getting close."

The Rockets have three more games before the All-Star festivities and may choose to hold him out until after the break.
Feb 10 - 1:58 PM

Trevor Ariza (hamstring) will not play Tuesday vs. Orlando or Wednesday vs. Miami.

Ariza is still without a timetable for his return, with the only update being that he's out through Wednesday. Ryan Anderson, P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute will continue to log additional minutes.
Feb 6 - 6:15 PM

Trevor Ariza (left hamstring) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Magic and is looking at additional time on the shelf.

In addition to Tuesday's game, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni does not expect Ariza to play on their upcoming 4-game road trip -- that would rule him out through Feb. 7. With Ariza out, Ryan Anderson should get more shots, P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute will see a bump in minutes and it's possible that Gerald Green is back in the rotation. For now, there's no clear beneficiary, but Green does have the highest ceiling with his gunslinger mentality.
Jan 29 - 12:33 PM

Trevor Ariza (left hamstring) will have tests on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.

Ariza was injured on a foul in the opening moments of Sunday's game. He exited under his own power after taking a pair of free throws, but we'll reserve judgment until the test results are disclosed. If he is forced to miss time, Gerald Green, Luc Mbah a Moute and P.J. Tucker should also absorb extra minutes.
Jan 28 - 8:57 PM

Trevor Ariza (left hamstring) won't return on Sunday's game, finishing with two points in one minute of action.

Ariza injured himself shortly after tip-off in a collision with Marquese Chriss. He did take free throws and walk off under his own power, and was initially called 'questionable' to return, so those are all good signs. Houston's next game is Tuesday vs. the Magic, and we'll consider Ariza questionable for that one. Luc Mbah a Moute, P.J. Tucker and Gerald Green all stand to earn more minutes if he misses any time.

Trevor Ariza (left leg) is headed to the locker room.

Ariza got hit with a hard foul via Marquese Chriss, was down on the floor for a bit, hit his free throws and then took a foul to go straight back to the locker room on the proceeding possession. He was able to walk off the court under his own power without much of a limp, but the Rockets are listing him as "questionable to return."
