Trevor Ariza made 5-of-13 from the field for 12 points with four rebounds, and one steal in Thursday’s double-overtime win against the Warriors.
Ariza missed all seven of his shots from beyond the arc, but continues to get plenty of looks. He has now attempted seven or more 3-pointers in four of his last six games. While he does have plenty of bumps in the road due to his cold spells, Ariza's output in steals has still made him an early-round asset in standard leagues. Dec 2 - 2:18 AM

Trevor Ariza made the most of limited opportunities on Sunday, scoring 18 points on seven shot attempts with three assists, two rebounds, two steals and zero turnovers.

The Rockets have won five of their past six games and Ariza is a subtle reason for their success. In addition to his defensive play, he's been lights-out on corner 3-point shooting this season -- he leads the NBA in that category and sank 4-of-5 triples tonight. Although he's less valuable in most points leagues, he's sitting as a top-30 roto value in 9-cat.
Nov 28 - 12:11 AM

Trevor Ariza scored 18 points with nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and six 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Kings on Friday.

The Rockets were bombing threes like never before, setting an NBA record with 50 attempts from beyond the arc -- they made 21. Ariza has typically been a horrible starter in the season, but he's off to a fantastic run this year with top-30 value in standard leagues. He has at least one trey and at least one steal in all but one game this season and clearly the return of Pat Beverley hasn't hurt him.
Nov 26 - 2:58 AM

Trevor Ariza banged knees on Saturday and needed further evaluation after the game.

There is no word of anything seriously wrong here and Ariza was able to walk to the locker room under his own power. If for some reason he is going to miss time, we might get a little more of D'Antoni favorite Sam Dekker along with defensive specialist K.J. McDaniels. Almost all owners can take a wait-and-see approach here, but Dekker looks to be ahead on the pecking order for now.
Nov 19 - 8:45 PM

Trevor Ariza hit 6-of-14 shots and five 3-pointers for 17 points, a season-high eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block in 35 minutes on Monday.

It was his second highest-scoring game of the year and probably his best all-around stat line. He's been scoring well and a steal machine over his last six games, racking up 18 steals and 17 3-pointers over that stretch. He's having a big season playing alongside James Harden and the steals and threes are simply fantasy gold.
Nov 14 - 11:37 PM

Trevor Ariza hit 5-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers for 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals in Monday's win over the Wizards.

Nice. After a bit of a slow start, Ariza has scored in double figures in three of his last four games, has racked up eight steals in his last three, and has hit six treys over his last two. He's averaging 10 points, 4.0 boards, 2.4 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.4 blocks and 2.4 3-pointers in his last five games, which is pretty close to the expectations we set for him. The Rockets outshot the Wizards 17-10 from downtown, which was why they won the game.
Nov 7 - 9:42 PM

Trevor Ariza has returned to Tuesday's game late in the third quarter after a collision with Tristan Thompson that sent him to the locker room.

He had five stitches under his right eye after his face collided with Thompson's head near the start of the quarter. It appears that Ariza has avoided a concussion and that he will be able to play through this. He finished with 11 points, three 3-pointers and two assists in 31 minutes. Crisis averted.
Nov 1 - 7:47 PM

Trevor Ariza went down hard after accidentally banging heads with Tristan Thompson in the third quarter of Tuesday's game.

He left the game and went to the locker room, where he's likely being checked out for a concussion. If he misses time, Corey Brewer's going to get a lot of run while K.J. McDaniels could become relevant off the bench.
Nov 1 - 7:28 PM

Trevor Ariza scored 27 points with four rebounds, one steal and five 3-pointers in 36 minutes against the Mavs on Friday.

So much for the quiet preseason and the five-point opener. Ariza will definitely be playing more minutes at small forward this season with Ryan Anderson in the fold, but clearly his overall playing time is fine. He's a routinely slow starter, so his owners should be patient with him. Maybe he can get an earlier start this year.
Oct 29 - 1:45 AM

Trevor Ariza (rest) will not play vs. the Spurs on Friday.

He's a perfect in Mike D'Antoni's system and has started to turn things around after a slow start to the preseason, averaging 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.3 treys per game. Corey Brewer and K.J. McDaniels should both get a long look on Friday.
Oct 21 - 12:20 PM

Trevor Ariza scored three points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes on Wednesday.

It's been a rough preseason for Ariza. In his five games against NBA teams this month, he's only made 29.7 percent from the field with averages of 7.2 points, 5.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 treys. His minutes should still be safe in the mid 30s and should be one of a handful of players to have at least 2.0 steals and treys. If he starts sliding in the middle rounds in standard leagues, you know what to do.
Oct 19 - 11:20 PM

Trevor Ariza notched 10 points, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, one steal and zero turnovers in 27 minutes vs. the Knicks on Tuesday.

The Rockets found minutes for Corey Brewer, K.J. McDaniels and Sam Dekker tonight, but none of them are threats to Ariza's role this year. The perennially-undervalued forward averaged 12.7 points, 2.3 triples, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.4 turnovers last year, with just one DNP, propelling him to top-30 value in 9-cat leagues. Don't sleep on him.
Oct 4 - 10:43 PM

The Cavs are looking to add at least one "athletic, shooting" wing, sources told ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Cleveland had interest in Trevor Ariza, but Houston is not looking to move him. It's unclear where the Cavs might turn in their pursuit to improve the roster, but we know it won't be in Dwyane Wade's direction.
Jul 6 - 11:20 AM

The Rockets are gauging trade interest on Trevor Ariza, Patrick Beverley, and K.J. McDaniels, according to Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated.

The Rockets will likely play a big part of the NBA Draft trade landscape and it looks like they'll try to involve Ariza, Beverley, and/or McDaniels in potential deals. While Ariza delivered top-40 value in nine-category fantasy leagues, his value could take a hit if his role is diminished on a new team.
Jun 23 - 1:42 PM

Trevor Ariza finished his 2015-16 season with just two points, one rebound and one assist on Wednesday, going 1-of-8 from downtown as the Rockets fell to the Warriors in Game 5.

Ariza was dreadful offensively throughout the first round of the playoffs, shooting 25.5 percent, and the only positive was his defense -- he averaged 2.6 steals and was easily the leader in deflections per game (4.8). He flirted with top-40 fantasy value during the regular season (9-cat) but his role could change depending upon Houston's choice of a head coach, not to mention any personnel moves this offseason.
