Nate Robinson said he'd love to re-sign with the Bulls but knows there is "limited space."
The Bulls beat corps doesn't seem think there's enough room for Nate on the roster or under the cap. Chicago will have Derrick Rose, Kirk Hinrich and Marquis Teague under contract next season while Robinson is likely to fetch a much better deal than the league minimum he played for this season. Beat writer K.C. Johnson does not expect the Bulls to retain Nate Robinson.

Robinson was signed for the minimum salary this season, but his playoff performance is more than likely to earn him a multi-year deal at a higher average annual value than the minimum. Because Derrick Rose will be back next season and the team has both Kirk Hinrich and Marquis Teague under contract, it's almost impossible to envision a scenario where Robinson is brought back.

Nate Robinson and Carlos Boozer played very well for the Bulls in Wednesday's Game 5, but their efforts weren't enough to stop the Heat from a comeback 94-91 win to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Robinson hit some great shots and helped keep the Bulls alive late, finishing with 21 points, five rebounds, six assists and four 3-pointers on 6-of-15 shooting, while Boozer went off, especially in the first half, to finish with 26 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and a block on 10-of-19 shooting in the loss. Jimmy Butler added 19 points and Rip Hamilton came alive with 15 points, in what may have been his last hurrah. The Bulls will be left wondering what could have been if Derrick Rose would have been available in the playoffs.

Nate Robinson injured his left shoulder in Monday's Game 4 loss to Miami.

Now down 3-1 in the series, the Bulls are fighting for their lives. Robinson hurt his shoulder on a trap play where LeBron James went for a breakaway dunk, and he was seen wearing an enormous wrap on the area after the action concluded. It's not clear if his status is in jeopardy for Game 5, but the Bulls can't afford any other injuries at point guard. Marquis Teague would be forced into a starting role without Robinson.
May 14 - 9:04 AM

Nate Robinson failed to score in Monday's ugly loss to the Heat, shooting 0-of-12 with three boards, four assists, two steals, one block and four turnovers in 32 minutes.

He's had some highs and lows in the playoffs, but this low is likely going to be his last game in front of the home crowd. Only two of Nate's 12 shots came from within nine feet and he couldn't quite penetrate the Miami defense like he did in Game 1. Not having Kirk Hinrich has been costly for the Bulls and they'll try to stay alive in Miami on Wednesday.
May 13 - 9:28 PM

Nate Robinson scored 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting in Friday's loss to the Heat to go with six boards, seven assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer.

He struggled with his jumper, shooting 1-of-9 on shots outside of the paint. Robinson has never been the bashful type and he's going to shoot his way out of his slumps more often than not, so he should have an itchy trigger finger for Game 4 on Monday.
May 10 - 11:05 PM

Nate Robinson cooled off in an embarrassing 115-78 loss to the Heat on Wednesday, scoring 11 points with three boards, two assists, two 3-pointers and four turnovers in 33 minutes.

He was on fire in Monday's win, but the law of averages suggests that Nate was going to have a sub-par outing tonight. The Bulls were completely out of rhythm on offense for most of the game with just two fastbreak points and shooting 35.5 percent from the field.

Tim McMahon of ESPN Dallas suggests the Mavericks could target Nate Robinson in the offseason.

The Mavs, along with the rest of the NBA, had their chance to snag Robinson last summer but passed in part due to Delonte West's presence. Once the Mavs parted ways with West before the season, they struggled to find a sufficient backup to point guard Darren Collison, a role in which Robinson has excelled in this season, especially in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Dallas, as McMahon points out, Robinson's current postseason excellence likely puts him out of the "backup point guard" price range this summer.

May 8 - 3:24 PM

Nate Robinson scored a game-high 27 points in Game 1's surprising win over the Heat to go with three boards, nine assists, one steal and three 3-pointers on 8-of-16 shooting.

He was outstanding in the second half, shooting 7-of-11 from the field for 24 points. The Bulls went on an offensive tear in the fourth quarter with 35 points, which was more than double their second-quarter total of 16 points. The annoying Derrick Rose cloud hanging over Nate probably just got smaller and he's been one of the best players this postseason. As a nice little cherry on top, Nate received 10 stitches on his lip for a laceration.
May 6 - 10:37 PM

Nate Robinson suffered a laceration on his lip in the first half on Monday's game and he returned to the game to start the second half.

The TNT broadcast indicated that it was pretty bad and it took a while for the bleeding to stop. Robinson should be busy in the second half.
May 6 - 8:25 PM

Nate Robinson (illness) is feeling better and is expected to play in Game 7 vs. Brooklyn.

Robinson was throwing up on the bench mid-game during a tough Game 6 loss on Thursday night, and if he was able to play through that (42 minutes), we have little doubt he'll be ready for the next one.
May 3 - 1:49 PM

Nate Robinson played through an illness during Thursday's Game 6 loss to the Nets, playing 42 minutes for 18 points, two boards, four assists and three 3-pointers on 7-of-15 shooting.

When he was on the bench, Robinson was covered with towels and had a garbage can near him. He was active on offense and was able to penetrate Brooklyn's defense in the gritty effort. Game 7 will be on Saturday and he should feel better at that point.
May 2 - 11:16 PM

Nate Robinson (illness) and Luol Deng (illness) are in the starting lineup to face the Nets in Thursday's Game 6.

Robinson is dealing with an illness, but there was really no way he was going to miss a home playoff game. The Bulls will need him to be close to at 100 percent with their lack of depth in the backcourt. Nate played 44 minutes in Game 5 and really ran out of gas in the loss, so there is a lot riding on him tonight.
May 2 - 7:34 PM

Nate Robinson has caught whatever bug is running around the Bulls' locker room and is suddenly a game-time decision Thursday night.

With Derrick Rose (knee surgery) and Kirk Hinrich (calf) both ruled out, the Bulls cannot afford for Robinson to be sidelined. Luol Deng and Taj Gibson are also game-time calls Thursday due to an illness and it's possible the Bulls could be even more short-handed than they've been most of this season. Stay tuned and we'll update you the minute we know more. Marquis Teague would start if Robinson is too ill to play.
May 2 - 6:39 PM

Nate Robinson played 44 minutes against the Nets in a Game 5 loss, scoring 20 points with one board, eight assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

It was the first postseason start of his career and the extra playing time may have taken a toll on Robinson. Kirk Hinrich (calf) did not play tonight and the loss was clearly apparent for the Bulls. Nate has been the Bulls best player in this series, but playing over 40 minutes is a tall order for a guy that averaged just 25.4 minutes per game this regular season. Hinrich should be considered questionable for Thursday's Game 6.
