Pete Carroll acknowledged that Nate Robinson will need to overcome some tough odds in order to make an NFL squad.
"I think it's all but impossible," Carroll said. "It's as hard as you could possibly get. He's 32 as well. I don't know if anybody could do it. But if anybody could, it might be Nate. He's that versatile an athlete and that great a competitor." It doesn't seem very likely that Robinson will be able to make an NFL squad, but he could still make money playing basketball, whether that's overseas or as a low-end backup on an NBA club. He won't be a fantasy option, though. Jun 15 - 11:02 AM

Date:

Nate Robinson will try out for the Seattle Seahawks as a defensive back on Monday.

He played cornerback at the University of Washington back in 2002 before he landed in the NBA. Robinson only lasted two games for the Pelicans to start last season while they had no depth and then he eventually went overseas. Robinson is 32 years old and is 5'9", so it won't be easy for him to land a job in the NFL.

Nate Robinson officially signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Robinson will join Tel Aviv for the rest of the season and can be ignored by fantasy owners as we may not see the 31-year-old play in the NBA again.

Nate Robinson has agreed to a deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel.

The terms haven not been disclosed yet. Robinson worked out for a team in China back in January, but they couldn't agree to a deal. The former dunk champ might not be back in the NBA.

Free agent guard Nate Robinson will audition for Xinjiang of the China association.

He was waived by the Pelicans earlier in the season, and there has been no reported interest from other NBA teams.
Jan 11 - 9:15 AM

The Pelicans waived Nate Robinson on Thursday.

Well, that didn't last long. Robinson was scoreless in the Pelicans' first two games, and Ish Smith has thoroughly outplayed him. Robinson can be dropped everywhere, and we will let you know if he gets a call from another team.

Nate Robinson did not take any shots in four minutes against the Blazers on Wednesday.

With Jrue Holiday back, Robinson moved to the background. Ish Smith has clearly passed him, which means it's time to cut bait.

Nate Robinson started at point guard for the Pelicans on Tuesday with Jrue Holiday (leg) sidelined, but played just 19 minutes, missed his only shot, and finished with zero points and three assists.

Ish Smith came off the bench and went off for 17 points and nine dimes, and may have passed Lil Nate in the process. If you own Robinson, dropping him for Smith might make sense, although Holiday isn't expected to be out for too long.

Nate Robinson will start in place of Jrue Holiday (leg) on Tuesday vs. the Warriors.

Holiday will be back in uniform on Wednesday, but he will still be on a 20-minute limit. Ish Smith figures to get some minutes as well tonight, but Robinson is worth a look in deeper leagues for owners in need of short-term help. Robinson will be joined in the starting lineup by Eric Gordon, Dante Cunningham, Anthony Davis and Kendrick Perkins.

Nate Robinson's roster spot is safe, but the Pelicans might look to add anther veteran guard.

''We're definitely going to look and see what the situation is because we definitely may have to add another guard,'' Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said Saturday. ''We want to do whatever best for the team." Robinson is poised to play some big minutes early on because the Pelicans have been hit with a slew of injuries, so he could have some nice short-term value in deeper leagues.

Nate Robinson led the Pelicans' reserves with 18 points in Wednesday's OT loss, hitting 7-of-11 shots with three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

Nate added two steals but also turned the ball over four times without any assists. He was added to the roster as emergency depth with Jrue Holiday limited and Norris Cole injured, and Tyreke Evans' knee surgery makes Robinson an even more prominent part of the rotation. He's worth looking at for temporary value in deep leagues.

Nate Robinson started the second half against the Kings on Saturday, finishing with nine points, one rebound, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

The Pelicans brought him in for a reason and there will be some minutes available. Jrue Holiday (leg) should have a minutes cap until January, Norris Cole (ankle) could miss all of November and Tyreke Evans (knee) is banged up. Don't be surprised to see Lil' Nate get close to 20 minutes to start the year for owners in deep leagues.

Nate Robinson and Bo McCalebb should get big minutes on Saturday.

The Pelicans' list of injuries certainly isn't brief. There is a chance Nate Robinson can make an impact in deep leagues, especially if Tyreke Evans' sore knee affects him in the regular season.

The Pelicans announced the signing of Nate Robinson on Friday.

With Norris Cole nursing a high-ankle sprain and Jrue Holiday on a minutes restriction, Robinson could be in the rotation right out of the gate. However, Tyreke Evans will probably handle the bulk of the point guard duties, so Robinson is only worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues.

The Pelicans have reportedly signed Nate Robinson to a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum.

The Pelicans are in desperate need of depth at the point guard position with Jrue Holiday (leg) set to begin the 2015-16 season on a hard cap of 15 minutes per game, and Norris Cole (ankle) out indefinitely. He could have some value during the early goings of the 2015-16 season, but once the team is healthy, he'll likely be a non-factor in most leagues.
