Jason Maxiell (undisclosed) is "pretty beaten up" right now, according to coach Steve Clifford.
The Hornets are dealing with injuries all over their frontline with Al Jefferson (knee/groin), Cody Zeller (shoulder) and Jason Maxiell (undisclosed) all dealing with concerns. Maxiell doesn't much matter for fantasy owners, but it's worth noting considering Jefferson and Zeller are hurting, as well. Marvin Williams, who has played 35-plus minutes in four of his last five games, seems likely to continue to pick up minutes. Mar 30 - 9:18 AM

Jason Maxiell blocked a career-high seven shots against the Wizards on Thursday with 11 points, eight rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes.

He turned into Rudy Gobert with his rim protection and didn't allow the Wizards to get many clean looks tonight. Maxiell is only playing minutes in the high teens, but he does have 12 blocks in his last three games. Unless Al Jefferson or Cody Zeller go down, he's not worth owning in most leagues.

The Hornets are reportedly planning on keeping Jason Maxiell past Wednesday, which will guarantee his contract for the rest of the season.

Maxiell's minutes have been trending up lately with Al Jefferson (groin) sidelined, however, he hasn't done much with the increased floor time averaging just 3.8 points and 4.5 rebounds over the past four games. He can remain on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Jan 6 - 3:39 PM

Jason Maxiell played 29 minutes off the bench against the Magic on Saturday with three points, eight rebounds and one block.

He's played 22.7 minutes per game in his last three and is picking up a huge chunk of Al Jefferson's minutes. Maxiell is not capable of putting up big stat lines and can be left on the wire.
Jan 3 - 10:16 PM

Head coach Steve Clifford confirmed on Friday that Jason Maxiell will make the Hornets' regular-season roster.

Maxiell will serve as a veteran presence in the locker room, but with career averages of 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds, he's not making a blip on the fantasy radar.

The Hornets officially signed Jason Maxiell to a non-guaranteed deal on Sunday.

Maxiell will try to earn the 15th and final roster spot with the Hornets, but with career averages of 5.9 points, and 4.3 rebounds, he's not someone to target in standard leagues.

The Hornets are expected to sign veteran big-man Jason Maxiell on Friday.

Maxiell was waived by the Magic before his $2.5 million salary became guaranteed. The contract he is expected to sign in Charlotte is non-guaranteed, so the 15th and final roster spot for the Hornets is still yet to be determined. With career averages of 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds, Maxiell should not be on fantasy radars.

The Magic have waived veteran forward Jason Maxiell.

His contract, worth $2.5 million, was set to become guaranteed on July 10, so this was an expected move. Maxiell has career averages of 5.9 points, and 4.3 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game; he is not a fantasy option in any format.

The Magic are expected to waive veteran forward Jason Maxiell if he isn't traded in the next couple of days, according to a source of Yahoo! Sports.

At this point in Maxiell's career, he doesn't offer much more than a veteran presence. Maxiell played 34 games for the Magic last season, averaging 3.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and not much else. His contract of $2.5 million for the 2014-15 season becomes fully guaranteed if he is not waived on, or before, the July 10 deadline. Wherever Maxiell lands, he will not be considered a fantasy option in any format.

Jason Maxiell (personal) is not with the team and will not play on Sunday.

He has been out of the lineup since Jan. 28 and has only played in two games since Jan. 15. The Magic won't be missing Maxiell at all with Nikola Vucevic back and healthy.
Sun, Feb 9, 2014 06:31:00 PM

Jason Maxiell started at center in place of Nikola Vucevic (sprained ankle) and had six points, six rebounds, two steals and three blocks in 43 minutes.

You would have thought he could have done a little more with all those minutes, but the steals and blocks were nice. Maxiell hasn't been doing much at all this season and should return to obscurity once Vucevic is back, which should be soon.

Jason Maxiell played 19 minutes against the Warriors on Tuesday with eight points, three boards, one steal and three fouls.

He could be in line for some more minutes with Nikola Vucevic injuring his left ankle for the second time this month. Maxiell started the second half and could wind up as the starter should Vucevic miss time, or the Magic could go back to a smaller lineup. Still, he's not worth owning in almost any league due to a low upside.

Jason Maxiell was a DNP-CD on Sunday for the first time in December.

Orlando's frontcourt rotation is too crowded for Maxiell to carve out a role. Even if injuries strike, Max's averages in 11 starts this season should ward off fantasy owners -- 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.6 blocks.

Jason Maxiell didn't score in 26 minutes on Tuesday night at Indiana, missing all five of his field goal attempts with five boards, one steal and two blocks.

He and the rest of the team were blocked 18 times tonight and couldn't get many good looks in the paint. Maxiell got the start at power forward tonight, but he's not worth adding in almost any league.

Jason Maxiell will start at PF for the Magic on Tuesday, with Tobias Harris (ankle) and Glen Davis (foot) both unavailable.

Harris is day-to-day so Maxiell's time as a starter will be short-lived. Anyone trying to gauge his upside should consider his muted averages in 71 starts with Detroit last year -- 7.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 25 minutes per game.
