The Nuggets are expected to waive F Shavlik Randolph in a salary-cap shedding move.

The Nuggets claimed Randolph off waivers on Tuesday, but it doesn't appear he was ever a part of Denver's future plans. He's a non-option in all leagues.

The Nuggets have claimed F Shavlik Randolph off waivers.

Denver was below the NBA's salary-cap floor so the move actually saves them money in the long run. Randolph has appeared in 21 games for the Suns and Celtics this season, failing to provide fantasy value in any leagues, and his situation isn't any brighter with the Nuggets.
Apr 8 - 5:06 PM

Shavlik Randolph said he and the Celtics parted ways because he wouldn't agree to a non-guaranteed deal for the 2015-16 season.

The Celtics waived Randolph on Monday and the big man said the move came down to guaranteed money. "As much as I would have loved to finish the season and playoff run with this team, I just wasn’t willing to commit to a non-guaranteed deal for next season," Randolph said. "So they had to do what was best for them, which I completely understand." Randolph will be hard-pressed to find a rotational role with any NBA team, so he can be safely left on waivers.

Celtics waive F Shavlik Randolph.

He is the one responsible for giving Kelly Olynyk his nasty left eye, but that's probably not why he's not on the team anymore. Randolph will have his work cut out for himself to get minutes in the NBA.
Apr 6 - 5:45 PM

Shavlik Randolph (hamstring) will not play against the Jazz on Monday.

He's not in the rotation and has no fantasy value. Randolph can be left alone in all leagues.
Jan 26 - 8:14 PM

Shavlik Randolph is expected to be active for Monday's game against the Clippers.

He'll be fighting for minutes with Jared Sullinger, Brandon Bass, and Kelly Olynyk, so even if active, he may not even step onto the court. Randolph belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Jan 18 - 4:36 PM

Shavlik Randolph has been sent to Celtics in exchange for Reggie Bullock as part of Thursday's three-team deal.

Through 16 games with the Suns this season, Randolph is averaging 1.1 points and 1.6 rebounds over six minutes of action. He'll be entering a very crowded rotation in Boston, and remains a negligible option in all leagues.

Shavlik Randolph (knee) will not play in the Suns' preseason game on Thursday against the Spurs.

His absence, long-term or otherwise, is not detrimental to the Suns roster. His role will simply be to add depth to an already strong Phoenix team, thus limiting his fantasy relevance.

Newly-acquired Suns PF Shavlik Randolph logged 10 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring two points with two rebounds and one steal.

Head coach Jeff Hornacek praised Randolph's "knack" for rebounding before the game, but the 30-year-old PF is not a fantasy option even if he does emerge as a regular rotation player.

Suns sign PF Shavlik Randolph.

He last played for Boston in 2012-13, when he shot 58.3 percent from the field and grabbed 4.4 rebounds in just 12 minutes per game. He's a career 54.8 percent FT shooter with a penchant for foul trouble, however, and a limited role off the Suns' bench isn't likely to yield fantasy value outside of the deepest leagues. He will be available to play vs. the Hawks on Sunday.

The Celtics declined to pick up Shavlik Randolph's $1.1 million team option for the 2013-14 season.

This sounds like a pure financial decision for a team trying to save on the luxury tax. Randolph's contract would've become guaranteed if he were still on the roster Thursday. The 6-foot-10 big man should still be able to find some work as a backup forward.

The Celtics would "clearly prefer" to pick up their $1.1 million team option for Shavlik Randolph, but they might let him leave to save on the luxury tax.

There's a slight chance that Boston can slash their payroll down below the luxury-tax threshold before Aug. 1, when Randolph's deal becomes fully guaranteed. If letting Shavlik leave doesn't help with the tax, however, the 6'10" big man should earn reliable minutes off the bench. The Boston Globe says that he "may be one of the best rebounders on the [Celtics] roster."

Celtics GM Danny Ainge hinted Shavlik Randolph has a strong chance of returning to the Celtics next season.

The team holds an option on Randolph's deal, and Ainge understands his value. "Shav helped us a lot," he said. "He's a guy that will probably have the best chance of being with us in the future, just because he rebounds, and that was one of our weaknesses." It wouldn't surprise us to see Randolph stick as a backup behind Kevin Garnett.

Shavlik Randolph left Wednesday's finale with a sore lower back.

He had five points and four boards in 13 minutes, but don't look for him to see much action in the playoffs. As for his back, we're guessing it's nothing serious.
