The Pistons have received a 2013 second-round pick and have cleared $1 million in salary cap space for this summer in the deal that sent Alex Acker and a 2011 second-round pick to the Clippers.

This trade was clearly motivated by finances for the Pistons, and Acker moving to the Clippers won't have an impact in any fantasy leagues.

The Pistons will reportedly trade guard Alex Acker to the Clippers for an exchange of future draft picks, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Sunday.

This trade obviously has no fantasy ramifications and Acker should be ingnored in all leagues.

Alex Acker, a combo guard the Pistons drafted in 2005, will be on the Pistons' training camp roster.

The team has one spot available and still retain the rights to Acker, who played overseas the past two seasons. However, they may leave the spot open and try to land a free agent later in the season.

Alex Acker's hopes of making the Detroit Pistons took a hit when he learned a knee injury would likely keep him from participating in summer league games.

Acker, a Pistons second-round pick in 2005 who spent his rookie season with the team before playing in Greece and Spain the past two winters, is again experiencing problems with the same knee that he injured last summer. The fact he can't participate in summer league games means he's probably headed back to Europe for a third straight season.

Alex Acker will play in Greece next year, agreeing to a one-year deal with Olympiakos.

He appeared in just five games for the Pistons last year, but they'll still hold his rights and could bring him back next season. Acker will replace former NBA player, Tyus Edney on the roster for Olympiakos.

Even though the Pistons did make Alex Acker a qualifying offer which makes him a restricted free agent, he's not a lock to make the Pistons team next year.

Being the 60th overall pick in the 2005 draft, the numbers are always going to be against him. "I don't worry about that," he said. "I just worry about me, and my game." Heading into Tuesday, Acker was the summer league's third-leading scorer, averaging 23 points, to go along with 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Acker won't have much of a role with Detroit down the homestretch. "Going down there, they're looking at me like I'm a veteran, even though I'm a rookie," said Acker, who played 48 minutes at point guard last week. "I'm like, 'I'm still a rookie!' But it was a good experience."

Coach Flip Saunders said the Pistons will likely leave rookies Alex Acker and Amir Johnson in the NBDL until the team returns from next week's trip to Toronto, New York and Charlotte.

Both first-year players don't have a role with the deep, veteran-rich Pistons squad. Acker has scored just two points in three games this season.
