Ronnie Price made his first start of the season on Sunday, scoring three points with three assists, two steals and one block in 26 minutes.
His lone field goal came from downtown and it's not as though Price's play cost the Lakers a victory -- their systemic, team-wide issues have thus far resulted in a 5-16 record. It seems unlikely that he'll hold off Jeremy Lin for the starting PG job and he's better suited to the waiver wire in typical fantasy leagues. Dec 8 - 12:23 AM

Date:

Ronnie Price will start in place of Jeremy Lin on Sunday against the Pelicans.

Lin has fallen on his face and opposing point guards have turned him into a Steve Nash-like turnstile, so the move makes sense from the defensive side. Price is still not going to get major minutes and his season usage rate of 12.9 will leave a lot to be desired. He's not an option in standard leagues.
Dec 7 - 2:30 PM

Lakers PG Ronnie Price returned from his one-game suspension on Sunday, scoring two points with six rebounds, five assists and three steals in 31 minutes off the bench.

Price sat out Friday's game for a flagrant foul he committed on Austin Rivers earlier in the week. He tied a season-high in steals tonight, and set a season-high in rebounds, but his stats and playing time were heavily influenced by the lopsided score. Fantasy owners can ignore Price while Jeremy Lin is healthy.
Nov 17 - 12:26 AM

Ronnie Price will return from his one-game suspension and will suit up for Sunday's game against the Warriors.

He was suspended for one game due to a flagrant foul on Austin Rivers during Wednesday's game, but he will likely resume his role as backup PG to Jeremy Lin. Price will only be an asset in deeper leagues until an injury strikes the LA's backcourt, and there is also a possibility that Jordan Clarkson could challenge him for playing time so owners should be mindful of that.
Nov 16 - 10:43 AM

The NBA has suspended Ronnie Price for one game, without pay, for the flagrant foul committed against Austin Rivers during Wednesday's game.

That means that Price will be unavailable to play for Friday's game vs. San Antonio, but will return for Sunday's game vs. the Warriors. With Price unavailable, Jeremy Lin will get all the minutes he can handle, and Jordan Clarkson should see some extended run off the bench. The Spurs are surprisingly among the bottom tier of teams at defending the point guard position, so Lin could be in for a solid game on Friday.
Nov 13 - 5:51 PM

Ronnie Price was ejected for a flagrant foul committed on Austin Rivers.

It was reviewed and Price deserved to be tossed for the dirty foul. He did not score in 17 minutes to go with two rebounds, three assists and one steal. Jordan Clarkson will get some extra run.
Nov 12 - 9:55 PM

Ronnie Price scored seven points and set new season-highs with eight assists and three steals in Sunday's home win vs. the Hornets.

The seven points also tied a season high and Price is unlikely to hold reliable fantasy value while Jeremy Lin and Kobe Bryant are healthy.
Nov 10 - 1:38 AM

Ronnie Price (knee) went 1-of-7 from the field on Tuesday, and ended up with seven points, three assists, one rebound, and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench.

After struggling with a knee injury during the preseason, Price recovered just in time for opening night. However, he really struggled tonight and while the minutes were nice, he simply won't have enough fantasy value to be owned in almost all leagues.
Oct 29 - 2:19 AM

Ronnie Price (knee) will play on Tuesday against the Rockets.

He will come off the bench behind Jeremy Lin so he won't be a factor in standard leagues. Price will battle Jordan Clarkson for the backup point guard spot.
Oct 28 - 9:24 PM

Ronnie Price (knee) has been upgraded from doubtful to probable for Tuesday's regular-season opener vs. the Rockets.

If Price is a go, he will play backup minutes behind Jeremy Lin, and that would move Jordan Clarkson back to backing up Kobe Bryant at shooting guard. Price is going to be the backup point guard for the Lakers, and he's not going to get enough minutes for standard league consideration. Owners in deep leagues can watch from a distance, but currently he doesn't belong on a fantasy roster.
Oct 28 - 3:15 PM

Ronnie Price (sore right knee) is considered probable for L.A.'s season opener on Tuesday.

Price will come off the bench behind Jeremy Lin and he has a great chance to keep the backup PG job all year now that Steve Nash (nerves) isn't available. Deep-league owners should at least keep a close eye on him in the early stages of the season.
Oct 26 - 4:20 PM

Ronnie Price left Friday's game with a sore right knee and will not return.

The Lakers will re-evaluate Price on Saturday and they can only hope the injury isn't serious, as Steve Nash's season-ending nerve damage has left them thin at PG. If Price is forced to miss any games, rookie Jordan Clarkson could be thrust into an unexpectedly big role on opening night.
Oct 24 - 10:50 PM

Coach Byron Scott said the Lakers are "probably going to have to look for another" point guard.

Jeremy Lin's minutes are safe, but Ronnie Price and Jordan Clarkson could potentially lose out on playing time. Price is only worth a look in very deep leagues.
Oct 24 - 4:28 PM

Ronnie Price got another start on Wednesday, finishing with eight points, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers on 3-of-7 shooting.

Jeremy Lin came off the bench again and a position battle appears to be underway. But once Lin is completely over his ankle injury and the regular season starts, we still expect Lin to get the majority of minutes at PG - assuming Steve Nash is in street clothes.
Oct 23 - 12:36 AM

Ronnie Price had seven points, one 3-pointer, four rebounds, 10 assists and one steal in another start at PG on Tuesday, earning praise from coach Byron Scott before the game.

There's actually a chance that Price could start ahead of Jeremy Lin on opening night, but we'll believe it when we see it. With Steve Nash is already suffering a recurrence of nerve-related pain, however, Price is creeping onto the fantasy radar as the Lakers' presumptive backup PG.
