Earl Barron started at center after being signed by the Knicks on Wednesday and blew up for 11 points, 18 rebounds and a block.
The Knicks big men are banged up, although it does sound like Tyson Chandler should be ready for Saturday's Game 1 against the Celtics. Barron's output tonight was a pleasant surprise, but it could have been a fluke against Atlanta's JV team. Quentin Richardson made his debut and hit just 1-of-11 shots for 10 points and five rebounds, while James White added 20 points for the Knicks. They rested all the starters tonight and we're not expecting much from these three going forward, unless the Knicks continue to deal with injury problems. Apr 18 - 12:29 AM

Knicks sign F/C Earl Barron.

Barron will take Rasheed Wallace's spot on the roster after Sheed retired on Wednesday morning.

The Wizards waived PF/C Earl Barron on Saturday.

Barron was barely playing, especially with Nene on the court, and he was shooting 35.1 percent from the field with nearly as many turnovers (10) as combined assists, steals and blocks (13). He's not a fantasy option regardless of where he lands.

Earl Barron started at power forward over Chris Singleton on Wednesday and hit 1-of-6 shots for two points, five rebounds and five fouls in 20 minutes of a loss to the Magic.

Barron is suddenly starting to get some run, and while it's become clear that Randy Wittman has no plans to start Kevin Seraphin any time soon, Barron is not a player worth owning in any leagues right now.

The Wizards will start Earl Barron over Chris Singleton against the Magic on Wednesday night.

Coach Randy Wittman said the change was about getting the Wizards off to faster starts. Barron scored four points on 2-of-10 shooting with 14 rebounds and four blocks in 26 minutes Tuesday. If Barron manages to garner consistent minutes, he could be worth monitoring, but we'll have to wait and see.

Earl Barron hit 2-of-10 shots for four points and a season-high 14 rebounds in 26 minutes of Tuesday's loss.

Barron made some noise at the start of the season as well, but only saw minutes with Trevor Booker out and Kevin Seraphin saddled with foul trouble tonight. Ignore Barron for now.

Earl Barron played 16 minutes off the bench on Tuesday and had eight points, eight rebounds, a steal and a block.

He was actually fun to watch and very active, but has a very limited ceiling. Once Kevin Seraphin is back in action, Barron's role will likely dry up, unless he continues to play this well on a nightly basis. Just keep an eye on him.

Earl Barron started at C for the Wizards on Friday and had 12 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes.

Emeka Okafor got the night off, while Nene is still out indefinitely with plantar fasciitis and Kevin Seraphin is dealing with a calf injury. Barron is worth keeping an eye on, but may not even make the team, while Seraphin and Trevor Booker are guys you can actually target at the end of fantasy drafts this year.

Wizards sign C Earl Barron to a non-guaranteed training camp contract.

Barron is technically a six-year NBA veteran, playing for the Heat, Knicks, Suns, Bucks, Blazers and Warriors, but he's only appeared in 112 games, averaging 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. There have been a flurry of minor signings this week, nearly all of which are irrelevant for fantasy purposes, and Barron is another player who may not make the regular season roster.

Warriors waived C Earl Barron.

Barron lasts three weeks with the Warriors. He appeared in two games, failing to top five minutes in either.

Warriors sign C Earl Barron.

Barron will give Golden State some insurance for their frontcourt while Kwame Brown is out with a pectoral injury. Last year he averaged 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game, and fantasy owners should avoid him.

Golden State is expected to sign C Earl Barron to a partially guaranteed contract, according to sources.

The Warriors were expected to sign a big man to take the place of Kwame Brown (pectoral), who was announced as out for three months on Thursday and Barron fits the bill. After releasing G Ishmael Smith earlier on Friday, Golden State moved quickly to add another big body to its roster.

The Trail Blazers waived center Earl Barron on Tuesday, bringing their roster down to 15 players.

Blazers signed F/C Earl Barron for the remainder of the season.

The Portland Trail Blazers tried out big men Earl Barron, Dwayne Jones and Robert Swift in practice on Monday.

The Blazers are looking for some depth in their front court for the playoffs. Whoever they go with will be lucky to see anything but garbage time.
