Will Bynum is reportedly finalizing a deal to sign with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of China.
Bynum is a backup point guard at best in the NBA, but he could have a fun time playing in China. He may return stateside after his season ends overseas, but he's not going to have much, if any, fantasy value. Dec 5 - 11:19 AM

Celtics waive Will Bynum.

Bynum was never really in the Celtics' future plans, and with the team unable to find a trade for him, they simply waived him. Bynum is a capable backup point guard, and he should be able to find another NBA team in need of his services. However, the word "backup" tells you about all you need to know with regards to Bynum's fantasy potential, as he's destined for limited minutes, and negligible statistics where ever he lands.
Oct 27 - 4:56 PM

Will Bynum's agent is working with the Celtics to find a suitable trade, failing which Bynum is expected to be waived.

The 31-year-old Bynum has recovered from a strained hamstring but hasn't even joined the Celtics for training camp. "It’s a tough time of year to make a trade," a league source told the Boston Herald. "Teams are still trying to get used to their rosters, see what they have. Most likely [the Celtics] will have to waive him." No matter where he lands, Bynum will fill a fantasy-irrelevant bench role.
Oct 21 - 2:27 PM

If the Celtics cannot trade Will Bynum, it is very likely that they will waive him, according to sources.

The Celtics are looking for a trade to either improve their team, or create more roster flexibility for the future, but Bynum doesn't look to be a part of their future plans. It's unlikely that Bynum finds himself in a situation this season where he will have any fantasy value, and he can be ignored in all leagues come draft day.
Oct 19 - 9:16 AM

Will Bynum (hamstring) is expected to miss the last two preseason games for the Boston Celtics.

There is still a very good chance that he gets waived by the Celtics if they can't strike another deal to move him. At this point, Bynum has almost no fantasy value until his situation changes.
Oct 18 - 4:06 PM

The Celtics have acquired Will Bynum (hamstring) in exchange for Joel Anthony in a trade on Friday.

He was going to compete with D.J. Augustin for the backup point guard, but with rookie Spencer Dinwiddie already getting some 5-on-5 reps in, the Pistons aren't going to need Bynum nearly as much. He's likely just going to provide depth for the Celtics as a backup. Of course, the Celtics may end up waiving him and save $900K to get under the tax line this season.
Oct 17 - 9:54 AM

Will Bynum (hamstring) will not play in Sunday's preseason game vs. the Wizards.

Will Bynum is targeting a return for Friday's game vs. Orlando. Bynum will enter the 2014-15 season as the team's third-string point guard behind Brandon Jennings and D.J. Augustin, and he's not someone that should be targeted in most leagues.
Oct 12 - 12:19 PM

Will Bynum (hamstring) went through Friday's practice.

Bynum will be the team's third-string point guard behind Brandon Jennings and D.J. Augustin, and he's not going to be worth owning in most leagues.
Oct 10 - 5:26 PM

Will Bynum (hamstring) will not play in Tuesday's exhibition vs. Chicago.

His absence sounds precautionary, but he's been out for a week and is losing opportunities to establish himself in Detroit's competitive backcourt rotation. Until Bynum is healthy, the Pistons will rely on starter Brandon Jennings and backup D.J. Augustin to pace the offense.
Oct 7 - 12:43 PM

Will Bynum will be limited for a couple days in training camp with a hamstring injury.

It doesn't sound serious and he should be fully healthy by the start of the preseason, assuming he doesn't have a setback.
Oct 1 - 8:02 PM

Will Bynum has made a big chance to his diet in an effort to boost his overall energy.

Bynum has abandoned sugar, flour, artificial colorings, and milk as he thinks they dull concentration and sap energy. His new diet now mostly consists of baked chicken, fish, fresh fruits, and vegetables. "Now I’m completely wired all day," he said. "I was already like that, but now it’s kind of scary." Bynum will again come off the bench for the Pistons this season and doesn't warrant any fantasy attention outside of deep leagues.

Sep 18 - 11:49 AM

Will Bynum (foot) will not play against the Thunder on Wednesday.

His foot injury will have kept him out for the final seven games of the season. Bynum has been effective off the bench and the Pistons play better team ball when he's out there.
Apr 16 - 7:43 PM

Will Bynum (foot) will not play against the Bulls on Friday night.

He hasn't been close to returning to the lineup due to his foot injury. Rodney Stuckey has seen extra chances in the starting lineup and is a decent option in points-heavy formats.
Apr 11 - 6:42 PM

Will Bynum (foot) will not play on Tuesday.

This makes three straight DNPs for Bynum and it's unclear when he might return to action. Beat writer Keith Langlois writes that Pistons coach John Loyer "kinda, sorta" hinted at a lineup change for Tuesday's game, so we'll keep an eye on the Pistons' starters as tip-off approaches.
Apr 8 - 6:50 PM

Will Bynum (foot) is out again for Sunday's game vs. the Celtics.

In addition to giving Peyton Siva a foothold in the rotation, Bynum's absence means that Rodney Stuckey will spend some time as a backup PG. With the Celtics' backcourt already running on fumes without Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley, guys like Brandon Jennings and Stuckey have a golden opportunity to step up.
