Clippers sign F/C Chuck Hayes.
After the Rockets backed out of a deal to sign him last week, the 32-year-old will now head to Los Angeles to join the Clippers. While he'll help provide the Clips with veteran leadership off the bench, he only played 8.8 minutes per game last season and shouldn't be drafted in standard fantasy leagues. Sep 1 - 10:23 AM

Chuck Hayes will sign with the Clippers.

He only played 8.8 minutes per game with the Raptors last season and he's almost certainly not going to be in the rotation. Hayes is a good locker room guy and the Clippers are already really deep, so it's easy to like this small pickup.

Chuck Hayes will not be joining the Houston Rockets, according to his agent.

While Hayes had reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Rockets, his agent said that his client will not sign with the team due to salary cap issues. The Rockets want Hayes to join their coaching staff, but the 32-year-old still wants to play. We'll keep an eye on Hayes' situation, but fantasy can feel free to ignore the Chuck Wagon as doesn't provide any fantasy value.

The Rockets agreed to a deal with Chuck Hayes.

It's a one-year deal and the Chuck Wagon is back with the Rockets. Hayes signing with the Rockets could be an obstacle for guys like Clint Capela and Montrezl Harrell from getting playing time. Hayes can be ignored in drafts.
Jul 29 - 10:50 PM

The Rockets are "close to an agreement" with Chuck Hayes.

The Chuck Wagon had some success with the Rockets to start his career from 2005-2011. Hayes only played a career-low 8.8 minutes per game and 29 games last season with the Raptors. With the Rockets losing some depth in the Ty Lawson deal, this move makes sense.
Jul 20 - 2:36 PM

Free agent Chuck Hayes and the Rockets have mutual interest, according to Hayes' agent.

Hayes was seen with Rockets staff on Monday and it sounds like the veteran big man could rejoin the team he played for from 2005-2011. The Rockets already have Dwight Howard and Clint Capela at center, in addition to Terrence Jones, Donatas Motiejunas and Montrezl Harrell at power forward, so it's hard to envision Hayes playing more than a handful of minutes if he does land in Houston.
Jul 14 - 10:53 PM

Chuck Hayes did not need stitches after suffering a cut over his left eye on Sunday.

He played 14 minutes off the bench with two points, 10 boards and two fouls. Hayes is just depth for the most part and the Raptors won't need him much with Jonas Valanciunas playing well.

Chuck Hayes picked up some extra playing time on Monday with 26 minutes against the Bobcats, scoring 12 points with 13 boards, one steal and three turnovers.

Coach Dwane Casey's team was on life support for giving up way too many easy baskets and he looked for any kind of jolt off his bench. Hayes' minutes have actually increased in each of his last five games, so this is an interesting trend. He's still only on the radar in deep leagues.

Chuck Hayes made his Raptors debut in Friday's game against the Mavs.

Hayes played two minutes and logged only one missed field goal. He has never really been the same since his heart condition, which happened to coincide with time spent playing for the infamous Maloof family.

Updating a previous report, Chuck Hayes will be available to make his Raptors debut on Wednesday.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey suggested that Hayes' conditioning will be a work in progress, but he's excited to have his passing in the lineup and referred to Hayes as "an excellent quarterback with the basketball." Even if he carves out a handful of minutes off the bench, Hayes won't have fantasy value in average leagues.

The Raptors are still awaiting cardiac test results for Chuck Hayes, who is questionable to make his season debut on Wednesday.

Hayes hasn't played since Dec. 7 but the Raptors haven't sounded alarmed about his health, so hopefully the cardiac tests are merely a precaution.

Chuck Hayes will not be active with the Raptors because he is still waiting on a baseline cardiac test from the Cleveland Clinic.

He had a heart condition back in 2011 and has been fine since, but the trade process had him get some further evaluation. Hayes is not going to have much value with his new team and can be left on the wire in almost all leagues.

Chuck Hayes will join the Raptors after being included in Sunday's seven-player swap involving Rudy Gay.

The veteran PF/C may carve out a spot in the frontcourt rotation, but there are no guarantees. The Raptors are more interested in clearing cap space and securing a lottery pick for the stacked 2014 draft class, so Hayes' season outlook doesn't improve with the move.

Updating a previous report, Chuck Hayes did return to Sunday's game despite needing eight stitches above his eye after being elbowed by Marc Gasol.

He finished scoreless with three rebounds in 11 minutes vs. the Grizzlies. Hayes' toughness has never been in doubt, and his return to the game confirms that he didn't suffer a concussion or any serious damage. Unfortunately, his backup role behind DeMarcus Cousins leaves him with negligible fantasy appeal.

Chuck Hayes took an elbow to the face in the first quarter of Sunday's game and is doubtful to return.

Marc Gasol had the ball and he gave Hayes an accidental elbow as he tried to switch the ball to the other side of his body from the triple-threat position. Hayes didn't seem to be concussed or anything, but he required eight stitches above his right eye and is likely done for the night.
