Tyrus Thomas has signed with Germany Eisbaeren Bremerhaven.
The fantasy basketball world was driven up a wall with Ty-Tom on occasion, but he will be missed in the NBA. He actually led the NBA in true shooting percentage last season (without any qualifying stats), so at least he can say that. Sep 4 - 12:24 AM

According to Basketball Insiders, a number of teams have expressed an interest in free agent forward Tyrus Thomas.

"I talked to my agent and we are just trying to see what’s the best fit," Thomas said. "I would love to be on a training camp roster. What I do understand is that now I have to take a different path than [in the past] and a different path than I’m used to. I’m sure that I’ll be healthy enough to do what I have to do to make a team if I do make a training camp roster." Thomas had a brief stint with the Grizzlies last season, but he had some strong workouts this summer and should be able to get a camp invite. We will keep an eye on him, but there's no reason to consider Thomas in fantasy leagues.
Aug 22 - 10:39 AM

Tyrus Thomas has reportedly had some strong workouts in Las Vegas, and the Mavs and Fenerbahce were there to watch.

Thomas was able to get a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies last season, but they did not re-sign him to a second 10-day deal, and no other teams picked him up. He may be able to snag a minimum-level deal from Dallas, but he won't be a fantasy factor in any league during the 2015-16 season.
Jul 15 - 10:05 AM

Tyrus Thomas is taking part in the Raptors free agent camp on Thursday and Friday.

While still just 28 years old, Thomas hasn't played more than 55 NBA games since the 2008-2009 season and played just two games with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2014-15. Even if the former lottery selection hooks on with the Raptors, he can be ignored by fantasy owners.
Jun 11 - 11:38 AM

Tyrus Thomas will sign with the D-League's Iowa Energy after the Grizzlies decided not to give him a second 10-day contract.

The Energy are the Grizzlies' only affiliated NBA team, one of 17 D-League teams with a single-affiliation model, while the Fort Wayne Mad Ants host players from the other 13 NBA teams. Thomas can still sign with any team that wants him, but he's far off the radar in fantasy formats.
Feb 1 - 10:28 PM

Tyrus Thomas will not sign a second 10-day contract with the Grizzlies.

Through two games with the Grizzlies, Thomas put up a total of four points and one assist over seven minutes of action. He may or may not be able to land another NBA contract, but there's not a fantasy league out there where he should be owned.
Feb 1 - 3:16 PM

Tyrus Thomas played less than a minute at the end of Tuesday's game in Dallas, marking his season debut with the Grizzlies.

He didn't have any statistics to his credit and is obviously not worth owners' attention in any formats while the Grizzlies are playing at full strength.
Jan 27 - 11:15 PM

The Memphis Grizzlies announced on Thursday that they have now officially signed Tyrus Thomas to a 10-day contract.

It's great to see Thomas back in the league, but the Memphis frontcourt is currently crowded and there's not a lot to love from a fantasy perspective. Thomas is better suited on the wire in most leagues for now.
Jan 22 - 4:37 PM

Tyrus Thomas is in Memphis awaiting a physical before he signs with the team.

Contrary to reports, Thomas has not yet inked his 10-day contract as he still needs to pass a physical. He did not practice with the team on Thursday, but would presumably be available for Saturday's game against the 76ers if he passes his physical. Thomas will join a crowded frontcourt in Memphis, so he can safely be ignored in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.
Jan 22 - 1:06 PM

Tyrus Thomas will not be available to play on Wednesday against the Raptors.

His 10-day contract reportedly doesn't begin until Thursday so there is no cause for concern. Thomas has a lot of work to do in order to get playing time in a crowded frontcourt so there is no need take a flier on him outside of ridiculously deep leagues.
Jan 21 - 12:09 PM

Tyrus Thomas has reportedly signed a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies.

Through two games with the Iowa Energy of the D-League Thomas averaged 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds. However, he will be entering a very crowded rotation in Memphis and will be fighting for reserve minutes with Kosta Koufos and Jon Leuer, so he's unlikely to be able to provide any value in standard leagues. Deep league owners can use a wait-and-see approach.
Jan 20 - 5:07 PM

Tyrus Thomas is in serious discussions to sign a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Yahoo Sports.

Thomas hasn't played in the NBA since the 2012-13 season, but has been averaging 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games with the Iowa Energy of the D-League. The 28-year-old has some upside, but is only worth a look in deep fantasy leagues as he's unlikely to get much run with the Grizzlies.
Jan 20 - 9:13 AM

Tyrus Thomas is expected to get an NBA callup from the D-League, sources told ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Thomas has been out of the NBA since he was amnestied by the (then) Bobcats, and he's dealt with a myriad of issues during that time. Now determined to find his way back to the league, it sounds as if at least one team is willing to give him a shot. Stay tuned.
Jan 19 - 12:57 PM

Tyrus Thomas has officially joined the Iowa Energy of the D-League.

The Energy have a single-affiliation partnership with the Grizzlies, a team that Thomas worked out for back in November, so it'll be interesting to see if this develops into anything. Thomas is just 28-years-old, so he could technically offer something to an NBA team as an end of the bench kind of guy. However, even if he is able to land an NBA contract, he's unlikely to offer any fantasy value in most leagues.
Jan 13 - 5:12 PM

Tyrus Thomas will reportedly head to the D-League in hopes of revitalizing his NBA career.

He had a few workouts with NBA teams back in November, but obviously that didn't result in him signing a contract, so now he will attempt to prove his worth battling in the D-League. If he is offered a minimum-level deal from an NBA team, he'll be at the back of the rotation, and is extremely unlikely to hold any kind of fantasy value in most leagues.
