Adam Morrison retired from professional basketball and has joined Gonzaga's men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant.
Morrison washed out of the NBA before last season and attempted to catch on with a European team. It's a strange end to a career that never really took off after Morrison was the third overall pick in 2006. Adam Morrison, who was waived by the Blazers before the regular season, is now exploring his European options.

Morrison said that he would retire if he didn't make Portland's roster, but that's clearly not the case. "We are looking for a good Euroleague or Eurocup situation for (Adam)," his agent said. Morrison's ultimate goal is to return to the NBA.

The Blazers will waive F Adam Morrison, G Coby Karl and F Justin Holiday.

They will no longer practice with the team and the moves put the Blazers at 15 rostered players. Karl made the biggest impression in camp, and it's possible he could be signed to some 10-day contracts later this season. Morrison averaged just three points in five preseason games for Portland, likely signaling the end of his disastrous career.

Adam Morrison and Sasha Pavlovic are competing for the final roster spot on the Blazers.

Neither guy is going to be worth owning in fantasy, but we'd love to see Morrison win a spot on the Blazers as it would make for a great story.

Adam Morrison said that he would retire if he doesn't make the Trail Blazers.

There are some that believe he will make the Blazers' final roster, and regardless he has practically no chance at having fantasy value.

Adam Morrison "will be given a chance" to make the Blazers roster.

Apparently, Morrison isn't just a camp body, and the Blazers view him as someone legitimately capable of making the team. It would be a mild surprise to see him make the final roster, but even if he does, he's not on the fantasy radar.

Blazers sign F Adam Morrison to a non-guaranteed contract.

He'll get an invite to training camp. Morrison has a long way to go to prove he belongs on an NBA roster, though he played well in eight games in Turkey last season, averaging 11.8 points in just 22 minutes per game, while shooting 37.5 percent from behind the arc. Even if he makes the roster, he's not a fantasy option.

Adam Morrison, the No. 3 pick in the 2006 draft, will play for the Nets during Summer League.

Morrison has been playing overseas for years now and is a longshot to make the Nets roster, but it's excellent to see him healthy and enjoying the game. He is joined on the Summer League team by fellow make-good veterans Julian Wright and Al Thornton.

Adam Morrison headlined a private free-agent workout for the Grizzlies on Monday.

Morrison has spent the last two seasons playing in Europe. He worked out for the Nets at the end of May and is still hoping to latch on with a team in the NBA that is willing to give him a shot. He was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 draft.

The Nets are working out 21 players on Monday, including Adam Morrison, Al Thornton and Jermaine Taylor.

Some other interesting names include Julian Wright, Ben Hansbrough, David Harrison and Hilton Armstrong. It will be interesting to see if any of these guys show anything at the workout, but the Nets are just doing this as part of their offseason due diligence.

Adam Morrison has parted ways with the Turkish team Besiktas.

Yes, the Turkish club is once again in the news, but this time it has nothing to do with Deron Williams. Morrison signed a one-year deal with the team in January.

Adam Morrison signed a one-year deal with Besiktas of the Turkish league.

Morrison averaged 11.8 points per game for the Bobcats as a rookie in 2006-07, but crashed and burned from there. He appeared in just 37 games for the Lakers over two seasons before falling out of the league. Morrison, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 draft, is unlikely to get back in the NBA.

Adam Morrison averaged 15.5 ppg for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia and was let out of his contract in a "good faith" gesture.

Now he's reportedly heading back to the U.S. with renewed confidence and is hoping to land back in the NBA. He actually played well enough and with a competitive spark that will be intriguing to a lot of GMs. But it would be surprising to see him end up with a guaranteed contract, or fantasy value, for that matter.

Adam Morrison has been playing very well for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, and hit 12-of-19 shots for 30 points in a recent loss to Union Olimpija.

Morrison is averaging 18.7 points after three games, which is good enough for No. 5 in the ABA thus far. He has no opt-out clause, but if things continue to go this well for him overseas, it's possible he could return to the NBA one day.

Adam Morrison has signed a one-year deal with Red Star Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda) to play in Serbia.

There is no opt-out clause, meaning he'll be in Serbia for a full season, but it's not like there were going to be a lot of professional opportunities available in the states anyway. He'll try to log some serious minutes in Serbia and fight his way back into the NBA.
