Patrick O’Bryant has been invited to the Bobcats training camp.
The former No. 9 overall pick (and bust) from the 2006 draft will try and sign with an NBA team. Even if he somehow lands on an NBA roster, O’Bryant will have no fantasy impact. Sun, Sep 22, 2013 10:50:00 AM

Patrick O'Bryant signed a deal to play with the Greek team Kavala.

O'Bryant played in the NBDL last season, and although he's received a few nibbles around the league, he's largely been a bust after being the ninth overall selection by the Warriors in 2006. He should fare much better overseas than he ever did stateside.

The Raptors did not waive Patrick O’Bryant by July 1, making his contract guaranteed at $855,189.

O'Bryant had a few decent games when Andrea Bargnani was injured last season, but shouldn't be a fantasy factor this year.

Patrick O'Bryant had 16 points, seven rebounds and a block in a start for injured Andrea Bargnani (heel) Wednesday.

O'Bryant looked pretty good tonight, but would only be worth late-season consideration if Bargnani was going to miss the rest of the season.

Patrick O'Bryant has landed with the Raptors as part of a three-team deal with the Kings and Celtics.

The Celtics made the deal to remove O'Bryant's 2009-10 contract from their payroll, and the Raptors get a rather inexpensive look at a seven-foot former lottery pick. O'Bryant is still likely to fill a reserve role in Toronto, and should not have much in the way of fantasy value.

With Kendrick Perkins sidelined by a shoulder injury, Patrick O'Bryant started at center for the Celtics on Wednesday and finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 25 minutes.

As promised, Doc Rivers limited the minutes of his Big Three, and O'Bryant was the only starter to crack 20 minutes. Eddie House, Leon Powe and Tony Allen each scored double-digit points off the bench, but minutes were spread so even and thin that it's hard to read into the stats.

With Kendrick Perkins still limited by a shoulder injury, Patrick O'Bryant is likely to start several preseason games at center for the Celtics.

Perkins is coming off shoulder surgery and if he suffers a setback or aggravates the injury at some point, O'Bryant could start more games than anyone thought possible. He's still not worth a draft pick, but should be monitored closely as the season approaches.

Patrick O'Bryant is expected to see some time with Boston's starting unit as Kendrick Perkins (shoulder) works his way back from injury.

O'Bryant has been a bust so far in his career, but it's an encouraging sign that he's getting time with the first unit. Perkins will take over the starting job once he returns, and Doc Rivers said O'Bryant could take over the bench role vacated by P.J. Brown, which doesn't translate to much fantasy value.

The Celtics signed free agent center Patrick O'Bryant on Wednesday.

This makes official the two-year deal struck last weekend. He still needs a lot of work, but the potential is there, as he was taken with the ninth pick by the Warriors in the 2006 draft.

The Celtics have signed Warriors free agent center Patrick O'Bryant to a two-year deal, according to NBA sources.

The 7-footer was the ninth overall pick out of Bradley in the 2006 NBA Draft, but never was able to figure out how to play in Don Nelson's system. He won't see much time with the Celtics either, but might have a better chance of developing his skills in Boston.

The Warriors recalled center Patrick O'Bryant on Tuesday.

He shouldn't have any fantasy value this season.

The Warriors sent second-year center Patrick O'Bryant to the D-League on Monday.

The seven-footer has barely played this season, and Golden State declined to pick up his option for next season. O'Bryant will become a free agent this summer.

Warriors backup center Patrick O'Bryant is tired of not playing and isn't too keen on returning to Golden State once he becomes a free agent this summer.

"If something weird were to happen and Nellie didn't (return next season), then maybe," O'Bryant said. He was the drafted with the ninth overall pick in 2006, but this summer the Warriors declined to pick up his third-year option.

After totaling 12 rebounds and three blocks in the opener on Tuesday, Patrick O'Bryant racked up 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting with five rebounds and four assists Thursday.

"He's made tremendous progress, I'm very happy about him," coach Don Nelson said. "He needs to be more alert, and he can't stop improving, but I never thought I could play him 20 minutes in an NBA game and survive, but by golly I did." Don't be surprised if O'Bryant takes some minutes from Andris Biedrins at center this season.

Center Patrick O'Bryant is not developing as quickly as the Warriors had hoped and it sounds like they're prepared for him to be a bust.

"He's a long way away, from what I can see," coach Don Nelson said. "He's still a young player, so you never say never, but I sure don't see he can be a factor next year. He can't even be a factor in this (the summer) league." O'Bryant is the lone man in the middle for the Warriors this summer, but has struggled badly. That just means more job security for last year's breakout star, Andris Biedrins. Of course, it's important to note that Nellie made similar comments about Monta Ellis last September, just before he broke out for the Warrriors.
