Shawne Williams received a DNP-CD on Monday.
He's out of the rotation with the Heat shifting away from the small-ball idea. Williams can be cut in just about all leagues and clearly squandered his opportunity while Chris Bosh was out. Tue, Dec 30, 2014 12:04:00 AM

Shawne Williams played 17 minutes against the Grizzlies on Saturday with seven points, one rebound, one steal and one 3-pointer.

He is dealing with a foot issue, but that's not necessarily why his minutes were low. Chris Bosh (calf) will be back soon and the Heat have most of their team getting healthy besides Josh McRoberts, so leave Williams on the wire in most leagues.

Shawne Williams (foot) is starting against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

He needed a lot of time to warm up and was truly a game-time decision. Williams isn't very involved in the offense and is more of just a floor spacer, so he's not going to have many chances to put up big numbers. Plus, Chris Bosh (calf) is getting closer, so keep him on the wire.

Shawne Williams is dealing with a really sore foot, and he is now considered a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Memphis.

Chris Bosh (calf) was already ruled out for this one, meaning the Heat may be forced to give Udonis Haslem big minutes Saturday. Check back for official confirmation before tip-off, but owners should have a backup plan ready. However, don't look towards Haslem, as he simply doesn't have enough upside to play in almost any format.

Shawne Williams scored 17 points in a disappointing loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday, going 6-of-9 from the field with three 3-pointers, five rebounds, one block and zero turnovers.

He dropped 12 points in the third quarter alone, marking his highest-scoring quarter of the season, and he'll have ample opportunities with Josh McRoberts (knee surgery) expected to miss the rest of the season. Williams' specialty is 3-point shooting, but he has enough overall upside to be owned in the majority of fantasy leagues.

Shawne Williams played well in 31 minutes as a starter on Sunday, scoring 11 points with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

Josh McRoberts (knee surgery) is out indefinitely and could be done for the season, which makes Williams a great speculative pickup in 12-team leagues. His primary virtue is 3-point shooting, but he also shoots with solid percentages and racks up occasional defensive stats, as evidenced tonight. With minimal competition for playing time, it's hard to dislike his rest-of-season outlook.

Shawne Williams hit two 3-pointers in Friday's 105-103 loss to the Wizards, finishing with just eight points and three rebounds in 24 minutes.

Williams has all of the opportunity in the world with Chris Bosh (calf) out indefinitely and Josh McRoberts (knee) starting down a season-ender. He hasn't done anything with it so far but it wouldn't be surprising if he got hot so keep an eye on him.

Shawne Williams will start Friday vs. the Wizards, sending Justin Hamilton to the bench.

Williams has been struggling lately, but he's a more effective player than Justin Hamilton and it'll be interesting to see how he fares returning to the starting unit. Chris Bosh (calf) is without a timetable to return, and Josh McRoberts (knee) could be done for the season, so the opportunity is there for Williams. He's worth a speculative add, but he has a tough matchup tonight vs. Washington.

Shawne Williams came off the bench on Wednesday, hitting 2-of-7 shots and a 3-pointer for five points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal in 29 minutes.

The minutes were great, as he played just 19 of them on Tuesday. He's struggled recently, but with Chris Bosh out indefinitely and Josh McRoberts likely out for the season, Williams still has a chance to make some noise in Miami. Just keep an eye on him.

Shawne Williams came off the bench on Wednesday and hit just 2-of-5 shots for six points and one rebound.

He played just 18 minutes and has finally given way to Josh McRoberts in the starting lineup. It's time to dump Williams and find a warm body off the waiver wire, even though McBob has yet to do much of anything.

Shawne Williams will shift to Miami's bench on Wednesday with Josh McRoberts taking over as the starting PF.

Williams' starting job has been tentative ever since McRoberts returned from offseason toe surgery, and coach Erik Spoelstra finally decided to make the switch. Williams has enough potential as a 3-point specialist to be worth considering in deeper leagues as a reserve, but most owners can move along.

Shawne Williams played 25 minutes against the Clippers on Tuesday with seven points, three boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.

He has his fair share of duds and his output figures to have an inverse relationship to Josh McRoberts' minutes. Williams' fantasy owners should expect his fantasy value to have an expiration date in a couple weeks.
Thu, Nov 20, 2014 11:14:00 PM

Shawne Williams is shooting 59 percent from behind the three-point line over his last nine games.

Williams is a blistering 26-of-44 over that stretch of games. With Josh McRoberts (toe) again struggling to stay on the floor, Williams has a real opportunity to continue making a difference for fantasy owners in the 3-point category.
Mon, Nov 17, 2014 01:10:00 PM

Shawne Williams had his first double-double of the season on Sunday, scoring 13 points with three 3-pointers and 11 rebounds vs. the visiting Bucks.

Josh McRoberts (toe blister) is day-to-day and his return will take a hefty chunk out of Williams' playing time, so despite his excellent recent play owners should tread lightly before starting Williams in weekly formats. He added one assist but didn't have any steals or blocks, and his fantasy value is tethered to his scoring and perimeter shooting.
Sun, Nov 16, 2014 08:52:00 PM

Shawne Williams scored a season-high 21 points against the Hawks on Friday with six rebounds, one assist, one block, one steal and five 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

He capitalized on Josh McRoberts (toe) not playing tonight and also had more shots go his way with Dwyane Wade (hamstring) out. Williams is more of a short-term plug-and-play guy than a reliable asset in standard leagues.
