Mardy Collins did not play against the Lakers on Sunday due to plantar fascitis in his right foot.
Collins might have found some value with the number of injured players the Clippers have right now, but now he is one of them. Collins did not travel with the team for Saturday's game, and is considered day-to-day. Mon, Apr 6, 2009 01:44:00 AM

Making a rare start for the Clippers on Monday, Mardy Collins scored two points and handed out one assist in 14 minutes.

Collins is fondly remembered for his play in early-January, when the Clippers were extremely short-handed, and his averages as a starter are still impressive (10.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.9 asssists, 1.4 steals). Unfortunately he's just coming back from plantar fasciitis and won't be starting for long.

Mardy Collins (foot) returned to action against the Clippers on Sunday, scoring six points on 3-of-5 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 13 minutes off the bench.

With Al Thornton battling a shoulder injury, and Baron Davis as brittle as they come, Collins is somebody to watch in the mess that is the Clippers. Fred Jones started for Thornton today, but it is unclear if that would remain the case if Collins is back to full health.

Clippers guard Mardy Collins will not play on Tuesday because of lingering soreness in his foot.

Collins has recurring plantar fasciitis, and might not have value even if he were healthy.

Mardy Collins (plantar fasciitis) returned to action on Wednesday, scoring five points in 22 minutes.

He was a fantasy sensation for the short-handed Clippers earlier in the season, but he probably belongs on the waiver wire right now unless you're playing in a deep league.

Mardy Collins (plantar fasciitis) is hoping to return from his injury sometime next week.

Collins could resurface with some value for the injury-prone Clippers down the stretch, but for now he belongs on the waiver wire unless you're playing in a deeper league.

Clippers guard Mardy Collins sat out Monday's game because of plantar fasciitis.

It's unclear how long he might be out, but the short-handed Clippers can hardly afford another key player on the bench in street clothes. His absence should mean more minutes for Fred Jones and Mike Taylor.

Mardy Collins started in place of injured Al Thornton on Wednesday and had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists on 6-of-13 shooting in a tough win over the Celtics.

Collins is too unreliable to use for fantasy teams, but played well in a start tonight. Thornton is day-to-day with a foot injury.

Mardy Collins (calf) played on Tuesday for the first time since January 23rd, finishing with 10 points and two assists in 13 minutes.

Collins had a surprisingly effective run in early January, but his fantasy stock continues to decline as the Clippers get healthy.

Clipers guard Mardy Collins (strained left calf) is expected to return after the All-Star break.

Now that Baron Davis is starting again, Collins is sure to have a much smaller role than he had in early January.

A left calf strain will keep Mardy Collins sidelined for another week or two, according to coach Mike Dunleavy.

That means Fred Jones, who had 19 points, four boards, seven assists and three 3-pointers Monday should probably be given a look if you need a short-term fix in your league. Just keep in mind that Baron Davis is due back soon, which will obviously limit Jones' value as a point guard.

Clippers' starting point guard Mardy Collins will miss Sunday's game with a strained left calf.

He left Friday's game with the injury, although it remains to be seen who will start for the Clippers. Fred Jones played a lot of point guard on Friday, so he could get the call today. Baron Davis, Zach Randolph and Chris Kaman are also out, while Marcus Camby is listed as questionable with an ankle sprain.

Mardy Collins last just four minutes on Friday after straining his left calf.

Tough break if you played him this week. We're calling him day-to-day but should know more over the weekend. Fred Jones stepped up in his absence with 12 points and seven assists, while Ricky Davis handed out 11 dimes of his own tonight.

Mardy Collins got another start at point guard Monday and had four points, six rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a block in the loss.

He also committed four turnovers, but if you started him this week, his line was pretty good except for the scoring on 2-of-7 shooting. He'll lose all value when Baron Davis returns, but should get another shot or two in the starting five before that happens.

Clippers guard Mardy Collins notched his first double-double of the season on Saturday, finishing a win over the Bucks with 12 points, 11 assists and four steals.

The win snapped L.A.'s 12-game losing streak, which ironically began with a loss to the Bucks. It's safe to say Collins has earned a role in the Clippers rotation even when (or if) they reach full strength, but his fantasy value is another story.
