Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play on Sunday vs. the Nets.
He joins Kent Bazemore (knee) and Paul Millsap (knee) on the injury report. This isn't the same groin that sidelined him for nine straight games earlier this season, but it's not clear how severe the issue is. It's possible the Hawks are giving him the night off against the worst team in the league as well. Taurean Prince will get his first NBA start and is worth a look if you want to stream some rebounds, triples and defensive stats. Mar 26 - 12:06 PM

Thabo Sefolosha scored 11 points with eight rebounds, four assists, one block and three triples in 28 minutes vs. the Hornets on Monday.

That's a quite a game for Sefolosha, but lines like those have been few and far between. He finished 4-of-7 from the field and should get a small bump with both Kent Bazemore (knee) and Paul Millsap (knee) on the shelf, but he's more a low-end streaming option if you're targeting steals.
Mar 20 - 9:46 PM

Thabo Sefolosha did not score with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 19 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

Low scoring is nothing new for Thabo, but his minutes continue to drop. Taurean Prince is coming on strong and is clearly earning more playing time. Sefolosha isn't worth owning right now unless you're really searching for steals.
Mar 18 - 8:25 PM

Thabo Sefolosha played just 14 minutes and scored two points in Thursday's loss to Memphis.

He normally gets around 25 minutes a game, but the Hawks were crushed in the third quarter and Taurean Prince got hot in this one. Thabo's not really worth owning in most leagues to begin with and if you were on the fence about holding him, this game might have been enough to push you over the edge.
Mar 16 - 10:07 PM

Thabo Sefolosha scored eight points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two triples vs. the Grizzlies on Saturday.

As expected, Sefolosha was back in the starting lineup -- he came off the bench on Friday vs. the Raptors because he showed up late to a walkthrough. Sefolosha played 23 minutes and hit 3-of-5 shots, but he's just a low-end asset that's only worth owning if you need steals.
Mar 11 - 11:43 PM

Thabo Sefolosha scored four points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 25 minutes against the Raptors on Friday.

Due to being late to a walkthrough, Sefolosha came off the bench during this game. He should be moving back to the starting lineup in the next game, but he's not going to have much value unless he's really racking up the steals.
Mar 11 - 1:12 AM

Because he was late for pregame walk-through, Thabo Sefolosha will come off the bench on Friday vs. Toronto.

Tim Hardaway Jr. will start in place of Sefolosha. However, it is important to note that Thabo's starter/reserve splits are very similar. He is averaging 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 27.7 minutes as a starter, and is averaging 7.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 23.0 minutes coming off the bench this season.
Mar 10 - 6:36 PM

Thabo Sefolosha chipped in nine points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block during Wednesday's 110-105 home win vs. the Nets.

If you own Sefolosha, it's for his defensive contributions, occasional 3-pointers, and general efficiency. He ticked all the boxes tonight and continues to float along as a late-round roto value with an emphasis on steals. You can probably do better in points leagues, though.
Mar 8 - 10:44 PM

Thabo Sefolosha scored 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting Sunday, to go with six boards, two 3-pointers, four assists, two steals and zero turnovers in 36 minutes.

Sefolosha isn’t the most exciting guy to own, but his ability to offer elite contributions to the defensive categories without really hurting you in any one area makes him a worthwhile guy to own in deep leagues. Just don't expect him to score in double figures on most nights.
Mar 5 - 5:26 PM

Thabo Sefolosha scored five points with five rebounds, six assists and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against the Cavs on Friday.

He's out there for defense, but LeBron James just dominated him in the first half. Sefolosha's playing time is back up with this game and 32 minutes on Wednesday, but he's still not going to be worth owning in most leagues.
Mar 3 - 9:42 PM

Thabo Sefolosha made another start on Wednesday, finishing with five points, five rebounds, two steals, one assist and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.

Thabo's minutes had been hovering in the low-20s since his return from injury, so this is a great sign. Tim Hardaway Jr. was held to 10 points in 22 minutes off the bench, and as long as both guys are healthy neither of them figures to crack middle-round value.
Mar 1 - 11:21 PM

Thabo Sefolosha started over Tim Hardaway on Monday and racked up 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in just 21 minutes.

Sefolosha is known for his D, but came through across the board tonight. He didn't do much in his previous two games since returning from a groin injury, but now that he's starting, he's worth keeping an eye on. But sadly, this might end up being one of his best games of the season.
Feb 27 - 10:52 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will start ahead of Tim Hardaway Jr. on Monday vs. the Celtics.

Sefolosha has played in two straight games after returning from a nine-game absence due to a groin injury. He's averaging 7.5 points, 4.1 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.7 triples in 27 starts this season, so he's more of a deep-league add if you need to stream some steals.
Feb 27 - 11:04 AM

Thabo Sefolosha returned on Friday night with two points, four rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes against the Heat.

He should be moving back into the starting lineup at some point, but Sefolosha wasn't really playing well before his injury due to his groin. Plus, the rookies, DeAndre Bembry and Taurean Prince, have played well. Leave Thabo on the wire.
Feb 25 - 1:36 AM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will return Friday night vs. Miami.

Sefolosha has missed nine straight games due to the injury to his left groin. He will come off the bench on Friday, as coach Mike Budenholzer said Tim Hardaway Jr. will remain in the starting lineup for at least the "next few games." Hardway has played extremely well with Thabo sidelined, which means Sefolosha's minutes will likely be limited in the immediate future.
