Thabo Sefolosha and Mike Muscala will sit out Thursday's exhibition game against the Pistons.
Neither player is dealing with an injury, but the Hawks currently have 20 guys on the roster, so both Sefolosha and Muscala will be inactive out of necessity. Walter Tavares and Taurean Prince should be able to pick up some extra minutes tonight sans Sefolosha and Muscala. Oct 13 - 4:45 PM

Thabo Sefolosha has his eyes on a larger role during the 2016-17 season.

"I was working the whole summer. I realize it was a big summer," Sefolosha said. "Also, with the changes, it’s going to bring some more opportunities for me offensively. I’ve been working on all that, feeling great, body feeling great, ready to go." This will be a contract year for Sefolosha and Kyle Korver is 35 years old, so he could see a little bit more playing time after averaging 23.4 minutes per game last season. He's only on the radar in deeper leagues and may struggle to hold off Taurean Prince and DeAndre Bembry for minutes off the bench.
Aug 22 - 9:33 AM

Thabo Sefolosha is uncertain if he'll play in international competition this summer.

After a summer of intense rehab last offseason, Sefolosha may be warming to the idea of having a more "normal" offseason this time around. Either way, it has no impact on his fantasy value.
May 9 - 12:31 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will start in Game 4 vs. the Cavaliers on Sunday as expected.

Kyle Korver will once again come off the bench for the Hawks. Sefolosha was listed as probable on the injury report because of his elbow, but he won't be limited on Sunday. He finished with eight points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes in Game 3.
May 8 - 1:55 PM

Thabo Sefolosha is expected to start again in Game 4 vs. the Cavs on Sunday.

This means Kyle Korver will come off the bench once again. Sefolosha played through an elbow laceration in Game 3 and finished with eight points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes, while Kyle Korver had 18 points and five treys in 32 minutes. It's tough to trust either player in DFS right now.
May 7 - 1:43 PM

Thabo Sefolosha made his first start of the 2016 playoffs against the Cavs on Friday, playing 29 minutes with eight points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

He suffered a left elbow laceration in the first quarter and was able to return. Sefolosha wasn't on the court when the Hawks were run out of their own gym, so he should get playing time again. Although, his per-minute production isn't great.
May 6 - 9:46 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (elbow) went to the locker room in the first quarter on Friday and will return.

He had a rough fall and landed on his elbow. Sefolosha tried to walk it off, but he was went to the floor in pain. He made the start for Kyle Korver, so Korver will likely be playing more again.
May 6 - 7:36 PM

The Hawks are starting Thabo Sefolosha in place of Kyle Korver for Game 3 against the Cavs on Friday.

It's a last-second move for the Hawks to try and get bigger bodies out there against LeBron James. Sefolosha should take some minutes away from Korver here, but he's still very risky to use in DFS. Korver loses a lot of appeal, as well.
May 6 - 6:59 PM

Thabo Sefolosha started against the Raptors on Thursday with 10 points, two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.

He picked up a spot-start for Kent Bazemore (knee) but Bazemore should be back for the next one. Leave Sefolosha on the wire. On the reality side of things, Thabo's defense was fantastic.
Apr 7 - 11:24 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will enter the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Raptors, with Kent Bazemore (knee) unavailable.

Through 10 starts this season, Sefolosha has compiled averages of 9.0 points, 5.0 boards, 1.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.9 swats per contest on 53.4 percent shooting. He's on the radar as a potential punt play in DFS.
Apr 7 - 7:13 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (sore right ankle) was invisible in 12 bench minutes on Wednesday, contributing one assist without any field goal or free throw attempts.

Thabo's ankle was a factor in the dud and he was outplayed by starter Kent Bazemore, who chipped in nine points, three boards, three assists and one steal. This was only the Hawks' second loss in their past 11 games but they're just 1.5 games ahead of the No. 4 seed Heat, so they'll need better from Thabo when the face the Cavs on Friday.
Mar 30 - 10:14 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (right ankle stiffness) is probable to play Wednesday against the Raptors.

He'll play, but with averages of just 6.7 points, 4.6 boards and 1.2 steals per game, Sefolosha can only be viewed as a steals specialist in extremely deep leagues.
Mar 29 - 4:34 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (ankle stiffness) scored points with two rebounds against the Bulls on Monday.

He played his normal amount of minutes as the Hawks' defensive stopper. Sefolosha still won't have value in most leagues and he might get some rest days, too.
Mar 28 - 11:19 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (ankle) is available for Monday's game vs. the Bulls.

This doesn't mean he will play, but it's a sign that his ankle issue isn't serious. To be clear, he's only on the radar in deeper leagues anyways. Tim Hardaway Jr. will play less if Sefolosha gives it a go.
Mar 28 - 8:10 PM

Thabo Sefolosha's (ankle stiffness) status still hasn't been determined for Monday's game vs. the Bulls.

He was held out of Saturday's game as a precaution and it's possible that the Hawks will continue to be cautious with the veteran. If Sefolosha sits again, expect to see a few more minutes for Tim Hardaway Jr.
