Thabo Sefolosha (illness) is probable for Saturday's game against the Hornets.

He wasn't able to play Friday, so the Hawks will hope to have his defensive ability in a critical matchup with Charlotte. If he can't go, DeMarre Carroll will log as many minutes as he can handle with Kent Bazemore also getting some action. However, Sefolosha should not be owned in almost any league.
Nov 29 - 1:04 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (illness) will not play Friday vs. the Pelicans.

With Sefolosha out, DeMarre Carroll will get all the run he can handle and he has a favorable matchup vs. New Orleans. Carroll logged 38.7 minutes sans Thabo during his last outing, scoring 14 points (two 3-pointers), to go with three rebounds an assist, and a block, and should have similar production tonight. Think about deploying him as a low-budget play in daily leagues.
Nov 28 - 1:03 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (illness) is questionable to face the Pelicans on Friday.

He missed Wednesday against the Raptors and the Hawks were ripped apart on the perimeter. If Sefolosha is out, DeMarre Carroll and Kent Bazemore could play a little more.
Nov 27 - 7:54 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (illness) will not play on Wednesday.

It's the time of year when "flu-like symptoms" make their rounds throughout the NBA, and Sefolosha is the latest victim. He's playing a small role off the Hawks' bench with Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll both healthy, so his absence shouldn't cause any problems for fantasy owners.
Nov 26 - 6:30 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will come off the bench against the Pistons on Friday with DeMarre Carroll back from injury.

Despite Thabo being known as a strong defender, the Hawks were thumped on defense in their last two games. Sefolosha doesn't have much fantasy value and he didn't do much while Carroll was out anyway.
Nov 21 - 6:07 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will draw another start on Friday with DeMarre Carroll (groin) sidelined.

Sefolosha is much more interested in stopping his opponent than putting up big stat lines. During his last start, Sefolosha put up just 10 points, five rebounds, and a steal, so he really doesn't have much fantasy value despite the "starter" label.
Nov 14 - 12:38 PM

Thabo Sefolosha started at SF for the Hawks on Wednesday and had 10 points, five rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes.

DeMarre Carroll was out with a groin injury and while Sefolosha didn't do much offensively, he did a nice job of chasing Gordon Hayward around and holding him to just 11 points. Sefolosha has no fantasy value.
Nov 12 - 10:30 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will draw the start in place of DeMarre Carroll (groin) on Wednesday.

Owners in standard leagues should probably look the other way as Sefolosha has season averages of just 3.7 points, 4.3 boards, and 1.8 assists in around 19 minutes per game. Kent Bazemore may be more intriguing due to his upside and could also see some run Wednesday. Carroll is day-to-day so this news is only for owners in search of short-term value.
Nov 12 - 12:25 PM

Thabo Sefolosha is still adjusting to a new system in Atlanta.

This comes as no surpise as Sefolosha has spent the last six seasons with the Thunder. Trying to learn a new system this offseason has been challenging to the veteran swing man. "It’s not easy to learn but at the same time it’s something I enjoy doing," he said. "Just moving without the ball, reading guys, moving to where the ball is going and I can get my shots." His faltering offensive confidence cost him his starting spot for OKC last postseason. Sefolosha hopes to regain his shooting stroke with his new team and new system.
Oct 2 - 4:57 PM

Thabo Sefolosha will not play for Switzerland's national team during this summer's qualifying games for EuroBasket.

The Swiss team surprisingly defeated Russia in their first game but they'll have to continue the success without Sefolosha, who doesn't want to risk getting injured. His fantasy outlook is bleak as a backup SG for the Hawks, who signed him this summer for $12 million over three years.

The Hawks acquired Thabo Sefolosha in a sign-and-trade with the Thunder, with OKC receiving a $4 million traded-player exception and the draft rights to Sofoklis Schortsanitis.

Sefolosha's deal is worth a reported $12 million over three years. In addition, the Hawks will get the draft rights to Giorgos Printezis and some cash. Needless to say, neither Printezis nor Schortsanitis need to be on fantasy owners' radars.
Jul 15 - 5:46 PM

Thabo Sefolosha is happy to have landed in Atlanta, and he "feels great" about his new contract.

Sefolosha also admitted that he could sense his time in Oklahoma City was coming to an end with the way the season ended. "The last month of basketball was a little bit tough and head-scratching for me," said Thabo. "Going from the starting five to not playing at all... I just didn’t think that it was the right decision to make as far as the coach’s decision of putting me on the bench... I think if I played more minutes maybe we could have beat San Antonio." That's a bold statement from a guy who was contributing goose eggs to the box score, but his seeming inability to contribute didn't deter the Hawks from offering him $12 million over three-years. It's easy to see why Sefolosha is so happy with his new deal.
Jul 4 - 1:15 PM

The Hawks came to terms with Thabo Sefolosha on a three-year, $12 million deal.

This is a curious deal for the Hawks with their sizable cap space. Sefolosha was a major letdown last season and could barely even stay on the court for the Thunder in the postseason. He won't have much fantasy value and this move hurts the chances of the Hawks making a big signing.
Jul 3 - 3:29 PM

Free agent Thabo Sefolosha met with the Wizards on Wednesday.

No word of how the meeting went, but it doesn't sound like an offer has been made as of yet. The Wizards broke the bank to re-sign C Marcin Gortat, but might be able to scrape together enough cash to land defensive specialist Sefolosha.
