Thabo Sefolosha has agreed to a two-year, $10.5 million deal with the Jazz.
Sefolosha stated in a recent blog post that having a meaningful role with his next team was important to him, so he'll likely be in the rotation in Utah, and he could be competing with Joe Ingles for the starting small forward spot during training camp. The Jazz do have a good amount of depth at the three, though, so even if Sefolosha starts his playing time will likely be in the lower-20s. Perhaps he can emerge as a deep league steals specialist, but he won't be worth drafting in standard formats. Jul 12 - 2:04 PM

Unrestricted free agent Thabo Sefolosha wrote in a blog post that he wants to have a real role with his next team.

The Hawks renounced their rights to Sefolosha earlier this summer, making him an unrestricted free agent, but they could still orchestrate a potential sign-and-trade deal for him to get him a better contract. Sefolosha said that he's already received some offers, so now it's about determining what is best for him and his family.

Thabo Sefolosha returned to Atlanta's rotation on Wednesday, but he played just four minutes to finish scoreless without any stats to his credit.

Mike Budenholzer said after Game 1 that it's hard to squeeze Sefolosha into his rotation, which already has 10 reliable players, but he gave the veteran some early minutes tonight. Sefolosha wasn't seen again in the second half, however, so we're assuming he's still not part of the rotation.
Apr 19 - 10:09 PM

Mike Budenholzer confirmed that Thabo Sefolosha was a healthy DNP-CD on Sunday.

"It’s good to know that Thabo is there and I’m sure he’ll have a role and he’ll stay ready," Budenholzer said. "To go more than 10 deep is not easy but he’s a heck of an option to have at 11." Taurean Prince started alongside Tim Hardaway Jr. on Sunday, with Kent Bazemore and Mike Dunleavy earning minutes off the bench, so there's no clear spot for Sefolosha in the rotation.
Apr 17 - 2:27 PM

Thabo Sefolosha picked up a DNP-CD during Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Wizards.

Sefolosha is out of the rotation in Atlanta right now, and that might not change anytime soon, so he can't be relied upon in fantasy hoops at the moment.
Apr 16 - 5:10 PM

Coach Mike Budenholzer said Thabo Sefolosha is 100 percent and has no limitations.

It sounds like Taurean Prince may have Wally Pipp'd him to a degree. The Hawks may mix Sefolosha in against Bradley Beal, but he will almost certainly be coming off the bench.
Apr 14 - 4:00 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) played 23 minutes on Wednesday, missing all three of his shots to finish scoreless with four rebounds.

Atlanta rested most of their key guys tonight, but it looks like they wanted to get Sefolosha into rhythm after a substantial absence due to injury. The emergence of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Taurean Prince has really clogged up the Hawks' wing spots, and it's worth mentioning that Sefolosha is heading into unrestricted free agency.
Apr 12 - 11:43 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will play Wednesday.

Sefolosha likely won't see much more than 20 minutes off the bench, so he's not a great option in most formats.
Apr 12 - 6:49 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is probable to play Wednesday vs. Indiana.

It's interesting that Mike Budenholzer is willing to allow Sefolosha to play tonight when he's resting the rest of his main guys, but with this game being meaningless for the Hawks, don't expect Sefolosha to play many minutes. Taurean Prince should be getting all the run he can handle and maybe Ryan Kelly will be able to work his way into the rotation.
Apr 12 - 1:59 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) returned to action on Tuesday vs. the Hornets, scoring four points with two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes.

The Hawks were able to ease him back into action tonight, and with Taurean Prince playing well lately, there's a chance he may continue to come off the bench. With the No. 5 seed locked up, Sefolosha could be rested in the season finale on Wednesday.
Apr 11 - 10:20 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will be available to play Tuesday vs. Charlotte.

He's available, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll get out there. If he does, he'll just play limited minutes off the bench, so Sefolosha can't be considered a viable target in any setting tonight.
Apr 11 - 6:47 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will warm up to see if he can play Tuesday vs. the Hornets.

In other words, he's a game-time decision. Taurean Prince will be drawing the start no matter what, so if Sefolosha is able to get out there tonight, it'll likely just be for some limited minutes off the bench. He's not a viable target in most settings.
Apr 11 - 5:54 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Hornets.

Sefolosha said on Monday that he's "getting close" to a return, and was able to go through a 5-on-5 scrimmage during Monday's practice, so perhaps he'll be able to get back to the court following an eight-game absence on Tuesday night. We should get another update following Tuesday morning's shootaround, but if Sefolosha is able to get back out there, Taurean Prince could return to the bench. Stay tuned.
Apr 10 - 5:28 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) said he's "getting close" to a return.

He has missed eight games in a row and it doesn't sound like he will play in the final two games of the regular season, but a return for the playoffs seems likely. With rookie Taurean Prince playing really well, the Hawks have been able to be patient with Sefolosha. He doesn't belong on any rosters in re-draft formats unless we get good news soon.
Apr 10 - 9:37 AM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play against the Cavs on Sunday.

He's likely out for the season, but the Hawks don't miss him too much. On top of Taurean Prince, DeAndre Bembry had a gem of a game on Friday.
