The Hawks have had discussions with other teams about Thabo Sefolosha with the deadline looming.
Sefolosha is on a bargain of a contract at just under $3.9 million, but he will hit free agency this summer. The Hawks are looking to be buyers at the deadline, so Sefolosha and Tiago Splitter are the two most likely pieces to be moved to make a deal work. The Hawks are loaded with depth at SF and they may want to clear up more minutes for guys like Taurean Prince and DeAndre Bembry, but no deal is imminent at this time. He's not a great stash. Date:

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday.

This will be his ninth straight game out of the lineup, but now he'll have the break to hopefully get back to normal. Taurean Prince was terrific on Monday and could fill in again. Tim Hardaway Jr. should also be busy.
Feb 15 - 9:34 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will be listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Clippers.

Sefolosha has missed eight straight games, so it would be surprising if the Hawks played him Wednesday, as opposed to sitting him through the All-Star break, which would allow him to get another full week of rest. Tim Hardaway Jr. will draw another start if Thabo does not play. THJ has been playing the best basketball of his career of late. He is averaging 22.5 points (while shooting 51.1 percent from the floor), 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.8 treys over Atlanta's last six games.
Feb 14 - 7:46 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play on Monday vs. the Blazers.

This will be his eighth game in a row on the sidelines, and while head coach Mike Budenholzer is hopeful that he'll be able to play Wednesday vs. the Clippers, at this point, it would make more sense to just hold him out through the All-Star break. Tim Hardaway Jr. will continue to start and he's been eating over his last five games, averaging 22.0 points, 4.0 boards, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.6 triples.
Feb 13 - 1:58 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday's game vs. the Trail Blazers.

Sefolosha has missed seven games due to the injury, but has a chance to return on Monday. His return would impact Tim Hardaway Jr. who has been playing big minutes during Sefolosha's absence, and it could cause DeAndre Bembry to fall out of the rotation. Check back for updates after Atlanta's shootaround.
Feb 12 - 7:27 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will miss Friday's game, but is traveling with the team and may play prior to the All-Star break.

Friday will be the seventh straight game Sefolosha has missed. However, there is a chance he will play Monday in Portland or Wednesday vs. the Clippers. Tim Hardaway Jr. will continue to soak up the majority of Thabo's minutes, with DeAndre Bembry also seeing approximately 20 minutes a night off the bench.
Feb 10 - 10:41 AM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play against the Kings on Friday.

That'll allow Tim Hardaway Jr. to start and DeAndre Bembry to stay in the rotation. Hardaway Jr. has proven he's worth owning in standard leagues while Bembry is on the board as a super deep stream.
Feb 9 - 7:50 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

This will mark Sefolosha's sixth straight game on the sidelines, and given that he's yet to partake in any practices, it doesn't seem that he's anywhere near a return. Tim Hardaway Jr. will get another start tonight, and he makes sense as a potential DFS play with what should be an uptempo matchup against a team ranked in the bottom three in defensive efficiency. At this point, Sefolosha belongs on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Feb 8 - 11:30 AM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play on Monday vs. the Jazz.

This will be his fifth game in a row on the shelf and he previously said that he won't return until he's 100 percent. Tim Hardaway Jr. will get another start and is averaging 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.1 triples in the first unit this season, while DeAndre Bembry could see around 20 minutes off the bench and the Hawks will probably throw him on Gordon Hayward.
Feb 6 - 12:45 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Jazz.

He has missed four games in a row and hinted that he won't play if he's not 100 percent. Tim Hardaway Jr. is the big winner and will continue to start if Sefolosha is out, while DeAndre Bembry could see around 20 minutes in the second unit. In 10 starts this season, THJ has averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.1 triples.
Feb 6 - 9:47 AM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play against the Magic on Saturday.

He went through at least part of warmups and wasn't deemed well enough to play. Tim Hardaway Jr. will start and look to build off his 23-point fourth quarter on Saturday. We'll see some DeAndre Bembry in place of Sefolosha, as well.
Feb 4 - 6:00 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is going to be a game-time call against the Magic on Saturday.

Coach Budenholzer will see how it goes after warmups. Considering Sefolosha has said he regretted playing at 100 percent, he would have to go through warmups with flying colors. If not, we should see more DeAndre Bembry in the second unit. Of course, Thursday's hero, Tim Hardaway Jr., benefits here.
Feb 4 - 5:37 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is questionable to face the Magic on Saturday.

He's missed the last two games and could miss another due to how he regretted playing last week. On Thursday, DeAndre Bembry was the unsung hero behind Tim Hardaway Jr. In the fourth, Hardaway Jr. took care of the offense while Bembry picked it up on defense. If Sefolosha is out again, there could be some added run for the rookie. He's still only worth an add in deep leagues while Thabo is a drop right now.
Feb 3 - 4:48 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) will not play against the Rockets on Thursday.

He's not 100 percent just yet from his nagging groin injury. Sefolosha expressed regret about playing last Friday, so it makes sense for him to stay out of the lineup until he's healthy. Tim Hardaway Jr. will start while Mike Dunleavy also benefits off the bench. Sefolosha should probably be dropped.
Feb 2 - 7:25 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) is questionable to play against the Rockets on Thursday.

Just after Wednesday's game, Sefolosha said he's hopeful to play tonight, and he added he shouldn't have played in last Friday's game due to a nagging injury. If Sefolosha can't suit up, there should be a few extra minutes going to Tim Hardaway Jr. as a starter while Mike Dunleavy would be the first wing off the bench. Sefolosha isn't worth owning in most leagues anymore.
