Former Nets center Josh Boone is playing in China this season, but he hopes to return to the NBA at some point.

"It should be short term," wrote Boone. "I know, as do a lot of others, that I am an NBA-level player. But unfortunately some decision-makers didn’t view me as being worth anything. I’ll have to see what happens with the lockout next year."

The Hawks have some interest in free-agent centers Josh Boone, Francisco Elson and Brian Skinner.

After missing out on Shaquille O'Neal, the Hawks are scraping the bottom of the barrel for rebounding help. Their best bet is Boone, who averaged 7.0 rebounds in 28 starts for the Nets last season.

Josh Boone, who had 13 points and 20 rebounds on Tuesday, cooled off on Wednesday for six points and eight rebounds.

He's unreliable, but still worth a look, at least until Yi Jianlian returns from an ankle injury in a week or so.

Nets big man Josh Boone swooped in for a season-high 20 rebounds in Tuesday's game, adding 13 points on 5-of-7 FGs and 3-of-5 FTs.

Clearly Boone was doing something right tonight, but the eventual return of Yi Jianlian is one reason for skepticism, as is Boone's career 45% free throw shooting. But he's worth a look in deeper leagues if you want blocks, boards and a low dose of high FG%,

Josh Boone started in place of Yi Jianlian (ankle) for the second consecutive game on Wednesday but had just two points and one rebound in 10 minutes.

Boone is only starting so the Nets can keep their rotations intact. He's best used as a fouler in the NBA.

The Nets have offered to trade Josh Boone to Denver for Joey Graham, and they've offered Tony Battie to the Knicks for Darko Milicic.

New Jersey is primarily interested in financial flexibility and would be willing to part with everyone except Brook Lopez, Devin Harris and perhaps Yi Jianlian. They also want to acquire more tradeable assets such as cash, young players, and draft picks.

Boone had a decent run while Yi Jianlian was out with a knee injury, but has no value now that Yi is healthy.

Nets forward Josh Boone will miss Monday's game due to a knee injury.

Boone’s left knee is sore and although an MRI revealed no serious damage, he's day-to-day with the injury. Additionally, Eduardo Najera and Chris Douglas-Roberts (ankle) are also out, while Rafer Alston, who has been out with a sore neck and back, is available for tonight's game.

Nets center Josh Boone missed Sunday's practice with a left knee injury. His status for Monday's game is unclear.

Boone had an MRI on the knee, but according to GM Kiki Vandeweghe, "All indications are he's fine." We should have an update before the 7:30 tipoff, not that anyone is dying to know Boone's status.

Josh Boone had six points and 11 rebounds in Wednesday's loss, as he continues to start at power forward for the hapless Nets.

He's been playing pretty well and could be worth a look for next week in a deep league. But he'll go back to the bench once Yi Jianlian returns to the starting five in another week or so.

Josh Boone chipped in six points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in 29 minutes as the Nets defeated the Bulls on Tuesday.

Boone is a borderline option in deep leagues, and it's not hard to explain why -- he's averaging 4.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks, while shooting 40% from the FT line.

Though a full-blown youth movement appears to be impending in New Jersey, Josh Boone and Trenton Hassell are expected to get at least one more start on Wednesday.

"Let Kiki [Vandeweghe] make a change tomorrow if he wants to," said Wednesday's coach, Tom Barrise. "These guys have played hard. They’ve competed. We’re going to stand by them for another night. Lay it out there tonight." It's nice to see the show of loyalty, but neither Boone nor Hassell is worth owning outside of very deep leagues.

Josh Boone had six points, eight rebounds and three blocks, while Trenton Hassell had 13 points, five boards and three assists as the Nets fell to the Sixers to fall to 0-8 on the season.

Boone could be a decent size of boards and blocks while Yi Jianlian is out for several more weeks, but we really don't trust Hassell. Both started for the injury-depleted Nets tonight.

Josh Boone is expected to get another start for the Nets on Wednesday despite wearing a wrap on his right hand.

Boone is still in discomfort after having three of his fingers bent back against the Celtics on Saturday, but plans to play through it and is someone to consider if you're in need of boards and blocks in leagues of 12 teams or more.
