Shannon Brown has signed with the D-League.
Brown will now be eligible for the D-League draft, but the 30-year-old hasn't played in the NBA since the 2014-15 season. He can be ignored in all fantasy leagues. Thu, Oct 20, 2016 01:43:00 PM

Heat waive G/F Shannon Brown.

This is unusual. Brown started on Sunday night and now he's no longer on the team. This probably means Norris Cole (finger) is ready to come back from his dislocated finger. Brown can be cut in all leagues.

Shannon Brown was dreadful in another start at SG on Sunday, turning the ball over three times to go along with zero points, rebounds or assists.

He played 17 minutes, so opportunities weren't the issue, but he'll fade back into Miami's bench once Dwyane Wade (hamstring) and/or Norris Cole (finger) are healthy enough to play. Our condolences if you tried to wring some value out of him as a starter over the past two games.

Shannon Brown played 37 minutes against the Magic on Saturday with seven points, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

He started because the Heat basically had no other option and apparently he is going to see major playing time. Brown won't be used on many possessions, so he'll need to bury a lot of triples to have value in even 16-team leagues.

Shannon Brown will start next to Mario Chalmers, Luol Deng, Shawne Williams and Chris Bosh against the Magic on Saturday.

The Heat needs to bring Shabazz Napier off the bench and they won't play James Ennis at SG, so Brown is their only choice. If you're looking for a spot start, Napier is the better play. Obviously, Mario Chalmers should be starting everywhere tonight.

Shannon Brown started the second half against the Clippers on Thursday, finishing with nine points, two steals and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.

He was the only shooting guard on the roster because the team used Mario Chalmers at point guard to start the second half. If Norris Cole (finger) needs to miss time, chances are coach Erik Spoelstra will re-work his rotation and not count on Brown as much. He can be ignored in almost all leagues.

Chris Bosh suggested that Shannon Brown will be Dwyane Wade's primary backup this year, saying, "[Brown] is pretty good, I'm surprised we were able to get him."

Wade's health is a perpetual concern for the Heat, who are taking a depth-by-committee approach this year. In addition to Brown, coach Erik Spoelstra can deploy Reggie Williams and Danny Granger as backup SGs, and Mario Chalmers could spend some time as a two-guard. Given Miami's the alternatives, it's unsurprising that Bosh pegged Brown as a likely contributor for the second unit.

The Heat signed G/F Shannon Brown on a one-year, $1.3 million deal.

It sounds like a guaranteed deal and he should make the team. Miami has some serious concerns on the wing with the oft-injured trio of Dwyane Wade, Danny Granger and Luol Deng expected to lead the way. Brown will compete with Shawne Williams, Reggie Williams and rookie James Ennis for playing time. He's not worth drafting in almost any format.

Knicks waive G/F Shannon Brown.

They signed him for the rest of the 2013-14 regular season back on Mar. 20 and he was on their summer league team, but he had no real chance to make the team. Brown should wind up getting a camp invite somewhere, but not doing much in summer league certainly hurts his chances of making a team.

The Knicks signed Shannon Brown for the rest of the season on Thursday.

He's averaging a mere 1.8 points in six minutes per game since joining the Knicks in February, and his retention may stem from his time under Phil Jackson with the Lakers. He belongs on the waiver wire unless injuries strike down Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith.

Shannon Brown played 16 minutes in his Knicks debut on Thursday with six points and two steals.

The Knicks are looking for some help on the wing with Iman Shumpert (knee) out for another week or so. Brown looks a little out of shape and is not going to see enough minutes to matter in almost any fantasy format.

Shannon Brown may see some minutes against the Heat Thursday.

The freshly-signed Brown is coming off a dreadful showing on a 10-day contract with the Spurs, but coach Mike Woodson said Brown will be available Thursday night if other players get into foul trouble. Fantasy owners would have to be playing in a 20-plus team league in order to even think about picking up Brown right now, unless their league awards extra points for being married to Monica.

The Knicks and free agent SG Shannon Brown have agreed in principle to a 10-day contract.

Brown and Earl Clark will both sign 10-day contracts on Thursday, making them available for seven games before their temporary deals expire. Even that hectic schedule can't make them appealing to fantasy owners, and Brown is coming off a forgettable 10-day stint with the Spurs during which he shot 28 percent from the field.

The Spurs have yet to make a decision on whether to sign G Shannon Brown for the rest of the season.

Brown wants to stay with the Spurs but is also garnering interest from other teams, while the Spurs want to see what free agents emerge once buy-out season is over. In short, Brown may or may not be back with the Spurs this season, according to Woj.

The Spurs signed SG Shannon Brown to a second 10-day contract on Wednesday.

Brown gives the Spurs some insurance off the bench but he's not a fantasy option while wearing the black-and-white uniform. In six appearances this season he's averaged just 2.2 points on 28.6 percent shooting.
