Warriors sign G/F Tarence Kinsey for training camp.
He's going to have a very difficult time cracking the final roster, but that's the case for most training camp invites. The Warroirs will also bring in Carlon Brown, Rick Jackson and Lance Goulbourne for camp. Thu, Sep 20, 2012 10:03:00 AM

The Cavaliers have waived reserve guard Tarence Kinsey.

Kinsey saw virtually no time in Cleveland and wasn't likely to see that change any time soon. Wherever he ends up he's still a long shot to hold any value.

Cavaliers guard Tarence Kinsey received a DUI in Florida over the weekend.

Kinsey's Bentley was clocked doing 70 in a 55 mph zone early Monday morning. And yes, we are also wondering how a guy like Kinsey, a reserve who averaged 2 ppg and has a nonguaranteed contract for the upcoming season, can afford to be cruising around in a Bentley.

Tarence Kinsey started in place of Delonte West (wrist) on Tuesday, finishing with 11 points, three rebounds, a three and a steal.

Coach Mike Brown appears to prefer starting Kinsey instead of Wally Szczerbiak (two points, six assists in 28 minutes), but with West possibly reclaiming his starting job as soon as Wednesday, neither Kinsey nor Szczerbiak figures to have significant value going forward.

Tarence Kinsey returned from a severely sprained ankle on Wednesday and started for the Cavaliers against the Raptors.

He finished with five points, but we're still not sure why he started over Wally Szczerbiak.

Cavs reserve guard tarence Kinsey is expected to miss three-to-five weeks with a severely sprained ankle sustained Thursday.

He had no fantasy value, but it could mean a few more minutes for Wally Szczerbiak and Sasha Pavlovic.

Tarence Kinsey left Thursday's game against the Cavs with an apparent ankle injury, after scoring two points with three rebounds and a steal in eight minutes off the bench.

Kinsey had been playing well, but not well enough to warrant fantasy consideration, even with Delonte West out for the next month or so. The injury looks like a season-ending type of injury, and the entire Cavs' squad went to see their teammate on the sideline during the last minutes of the game.

Cavaliers signed shooting guard Tarence Kinsey on Monday.

Kinsey spent the second half of last season playing in Turkey after getting released by the Grizzlies, despite flashing great potential at the end of his rookie season. It took an injury to Mike Miller for him to show his skills that season, but he proved can play in the NBA. With Cleveland's lack of a star-quality shooting guard, Kinsey might be a guy to keep an eye on.

The New Orleans Hornets are reportedly interested in signing free agent Tarence Kinsey, who was released by the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

The Hornets even have an open roster spot available and Morris Peterson hasn't exactly done much to keep his job at SG. It's a little surprising that the Grizzlies simply cut Kinsey loose, especially givne the fact he averaged over 18 ppg in 12 starts last year and is was one of the Grizzlies' best defensive players. This is a move that could come back to haunt them.

The Grizzlies waived swingman Tarence Kinsey on Tuesday.

He was a great sleeper pickup late last year when Mike Miller got hurt and it's kind of sad to see him go out like this. However, don't be surprised to see him signed to some 10-day contracts later this season and float around the league for the next couple years.

Tarence Kinsey scored 11 points in 12 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Raptors.

He hit a couple threes, but still hasn't worked his way into the rotation. We know the skills are there, but he got his minutes in a game that was never close. Keep your eye on him, but don't expect him to emerge as the super-sleeper he was last year.

One of the keys to the Grizzlies first home win last night against the Rockets was the defense of Tarence Kinsey. Although the box score showed that Tracy McGrady scored 41 points, when Kinsey was inserted to guard McGrady, he was slowed a bit.

Despite his solid defense on T-Mac, Kinsey needs an injury to a starter to have any impact. Once that happens, pick him up. Remember last year, he finished the season by averaging 20 points per game over the final 7 contests.

Tarence Kinsey left Friday's Summer League game in the third quarter after suffering a bruised right shoulder.

Kinsey's been putting in a lot of work to improve his 3-point shooting, so it's a bit ironic that he was hurt in the midst of a long-distance attempt. Memphis is expected to pick up the contract option on Kinsey, who was superb down the stretch, winning NBA Rookie of the Month honors in April.

Tarence Kinsey, an undrafted rookie out of South Carolina, was named the Rookie of the Month for April on Thursday.

Kinsey scored at least 20 points in four of eight games in April, averaging 18.8 points and 5.0 rebounds, and helped many fantasy owners to a strong finish this season.

Tarence Kinsey had 22 points, nine boards, seven dimes and three steals on 9-of-13 shooting as the Grizzlies handed the Timberwolves their seventh straight loss.

The Grizzlies finished the season with a three-game winning streak, their high for the year, and helped assure that the Wolves will keep their lottery pick. Kinsey could be a nice sleeper pick next season, but he was helped this year by the early loss of Mike Miller.
