Lou Amundson scored 17 points with 14 rebounds, two assists and three blocks during a 121-115 overtime win against the Pistons on Friday.
The Knicks frontcourt dominated against the Pistons tonight. Amundson did score 14 points in his last game on Wednesday and seems like he could be a 10-8 guy for points and boards now. He's more of a player to own in deep leagues, though. Feb 28 - 1:00 AM

Louis Amundson hauled in 13 rebounds during Sunday's win over the Lakers, adding six points on 2-of-7 shooting (2-of-6 from the line), two assists and two blocks.

Amundson isn't going to score a lot of points and he's a poor free throw shooter (career 43.6 percent from the line), but he's blocked at least one shot each game he's played for the Knicks. He has seen some increased opportunity with Cole Aldrich (shin) and Amare Stoudemire (ankle) sidelined, but he's worth a look for owners in deep leagues searching for some short-term value in the shot-blocking and rebounding departments.
Feb 1 - 7:24 PM

The Knicks officially signed Louis Amundson to a contract that will keep him with the team for the remainder of the season on Friday.

Amundson can be viewed as a shot-blocking specialist in deep leagues, but he's unlikely to be able to provide much value to owners in standard leagues. Through seven games with the Knicks he is averaging 6.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.
Jan 30 - 1:50 PM

Lou Amundson played 21 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday with 17 points, three rebounds, one assist and one block.

With Amare Stoudemire and Cole Aldrich out, he's really the only capable center on the team. Amundson did not even play in the fourth quarter and he was well on his way to a big game. Amundson could barely get minutes last season, but these are your 2014-15 New York Knicks we're talking about here. He's worth a look in deep leagues.
Jan 29 - 9:45 PM

Lou Amundson will sign a deal on Tuesday that will keep him with the Knicks for the rest of the 2014-15 season.

While Amundson has been a solid addition to the Knicks' depleted frontcourt, his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues and owners who are in dire need of blocks. The journeyman has averaged 4.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.0 blocks over his last 10 games, but his 23.0 minute average over that span points to the risk that comes with starting Amundson on any given night.
Jan 29 - 11:10 AM

Lou Amundson started at center and had five points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in Wednesday's surprising win over the Thunder.

Amundson has started in five straight games and has gotten a little better in each one. And when we say "a little," we mean it. He's averaging 4.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks over that stretch, which means he's probably not going to help your fantasy team, unless you're willing to punt points for a couple blocks. Phil Jackson is probably livid the Knicks won this game (their ninth of the season), but you can't say they're not trying to lose as long as Amundson is a starting NBA center.
Jan 29 - 1:07 AM

Lou Amundson will draw another start on Wednesday against the 76ers.

He just signed another 10-day contract and coach Derek Fisher really seems to like the energy that he brings, but his game simply doesn't translate to fantasy very well. Amundson is still only an option in ridiculously deep leagues.
Jan 21 - 10:28 AM

Louis Amundson has signed a second 10-day deal with the Knicks.

While Amundson drew the start on Monday, he's only averaged 5.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks in his two games with the Knicks. Those numbers can help owners in deeper fantasy leagues, but owners in standard leagues can feel free to leave Amundson on the wire.
Jan 20 - 1:15 PM

The Knicks will reportedly sign Lou Amundson to another 10-day contract.

He drew a start on Monday against the Pelicans, finishing with four points, three boards, one assist and two blocks in 24 minutes. However, even if he does earn a role in New York, Amundson's game doesn't translate well to fantasy. Leave him on the wire.
Jan 19 - 9:34 PM

Lou Amundson played 24 minutes in the starting lineup against the Pelicans on Monday with four points, three rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

He played down the stretch today and the Knicks gave Amundson an extended look with his 10-day deal running out. He's probably played well enough to stay on the team for another 10-day contract, but is only worth a look in very deep leagues.
Jan 19 - 8:44 PM

Lou Amundson will start against the Pelicans on Monday.

Interesting. Coach Derek Fisher is really getting creative here and the team just wants to look at him to see if he is worth keeping beyond his 10-day deal. He's not a fantasy option tonight.
Jan 19 - 4:06 PM

Lou Amundson played 17 minutes in his Knicks debut on Thursday with six points, six boards, one assist and two blocks.

He was on the bench for his first game on Saturday and is on a 10-day deal right now. Amundson is 32 and the Knicks likely just rostered him because Amare Stoudemire is not healthy, so he probably won't be on the roster beyond another 10-day deal. He's only an option in very deep leagues.
Jan 15 - 8:03 PM

The Knicks have signed Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas to 10-day contracts on Saturday.

Both players were recently waived by the Knicks but it looks like they will now have another chance to impress. However, both players will likely serve as emergency depth for the Knicks and they are still well off the fantasy radar in most leagues.
Jan 10 - 9:42 AM

Lou Amundson cleared waivers and is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the Knicks on Saturday.

Lance Thomas is also expected to sign with the Knicks, but both players don't figure to see large enough roles to matter in most fantasy leagues. You can confidently leave them on the wire.
Jan 10 - 9:11 AM

Knicks waive F/C Lou Amundson, F Lance Thomas and C Alex Kirk.

Amundson was never going to make the team after being thrown in on the Monday trade with the Cavs. He will likely be picked up on a 10-day deal at some point.
