Lou Amundson didn't score in 16 minutes vs. the Raptors on Sunday, missing all three of his field goals and both of his free throws.
The nine-year veteran did chip in seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block, but he lost substantial playing time to backup big man Jason Smith (three points, three boards in 23 minutes). Neither guy is worth owning while they're locked in a value-killing timeshare at PF/C. Mar 22 - 6:52 PM

Lou Amundson grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds during Tuesday's home victory, adding 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting with two assists and two blocks in 31 minutes.

This game was inexplicable in a variety of ways, including the Knicks winning the rebound battle, 50-49, despite having the second-worst rebound rate in the NBA (ahead of only the Mavericks). Amundson grabbed eight of his boards off the offensive glass during tonight's random outburst, but he'll go back to being a non-factor in fantasy leagues on Thursday.
Mar 17 - 10:36 PM

Lou Amundson started Sunday's game in Phoenix but he finished with only two points, four boards and two assists in 17 minutes of action.

The 32-year-old journeyman is in coach Derek Fisher's good graces and he's started more than 60 percent of the games he's played in this season. Regardless of where he begins the game, however, Amundson is only worth deep-league owners' attention for help with boards and blocks.
Mar 15 - 11:48 PM

Lou Amundson started Tuesday's game and finished with eight points, three rebounds, one steal and two blocks in just 16 minutes vs. Utah.

Amundson performed admirably given his limited minutes and recent back spasms, but he's impossible to trust while playing inconsistent minutes in the Knicks' messy frontcourt. Nearly all fantasy owners should leave him on the waiver wire.
Mar 11 - 12:27 AM

Lou Amundson will start vs. the Jazz on Tuesday.

Jason Smith will move to the bench for this one, but head coach Derek Fisher's lineups can change at any moment. Even with four more games this week for the Knicks, Amundson is only worth a look in deeper leagues.
Mar 10 - 8:02 PM

Lou Amundson (back) returned to action in Monday's blowout loss, logging 14 minutes with two points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Amundson would've been a stronger start among the Knicks' rag-tag group in their five-game week, but the back injury made things pretty cloudy for owners with weekly lineup deadlines. Deep league owners may want to take a look at him since he was posting active lines prior to getting hurt.
Mar 10 - 12:56 AM

Lou Amundson (back) is available to play and will come off the bench against the Nuggets on Monday,

The Knicks are going to try and stick with a lineup of Jason Smith and Andrea Bargnani tonight. Amundson was playing well over his last four before the injury, averaging, 9.5 points, 8.0 boards, 1.8 blocks and 2.0 turnovers. He's only worth a look in deep leagues.
Mar 9 - 7:36 PM

Lou Amundson (back spasms) is questionable to play vs. the Nuggets on Monday.

The good news is that he's traveling with the Knicks and even if he sits out Monday he could still play in four games during New York's loaded week. If he sits out Cole Aldrich could earn a start vs. the Nuggets' small-ball lineup, but either way more minutes will fall to Jason Smith and Andrea Bargnani.
Mar 8 - 6:01 PM

Lou Amundson is dealing with back spasms on Saturday and will not play against the Pacers.

It'll be Cole Aldrich starting against Roy Hibbert tonight. Amundson has dealt with back issues before and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him sit more games. He can be dropped if you don't want to deal with it. Aldrich is an interesting plug-and-play option.
Mar 7 - 5:53 PM

Lou Amundson scored 17 points with 14 rebounds, two assists and three blocks during a 121-115 overtime win against the Pistons on Friday.

The Knicks frontcourt dominated against the Pistons tonight. Amundson did score 14 points in his last game on Wednesday and seems like he could be a 10-8 guy for points and boards now. He's more of a player to own in deep leagues, though.
Feb 28 - 1:00 AM

Louis Amundson hauled in 13 rebounds during Sunday's win over the Lakers, adding six points on 2-of-7 shooting (2-of-6 from the line), two assists and two blocks.

Amundson isn't going to score a lot of points and he's a poor free throw shooter (career 43.6 percent from the line), but he's blocked at least one shot each game he's played for the Knicks. He has seen some increased opportunity with Cole Aldrich (shin) and Amare Stoudemire (ankle) sidelined, but he's worth a look for owners in deep leagues searching for some short-term value in the shot-blocking and rebounding departments.
Feb 1 - 7:24 PM

The Knicks officially signed Louis Amundson to a contract that will keep him with the team for the remainder of the season on Friday.

Amundson can be viewed as a shot-blocking specialist in deep leagues, but he's unlikely to be able to provide much value to owners in standard leagues. Through seven games with the Knicks he is averaging 6.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.
Jan 30 - 1:50 PM

Lou Amundson played 21 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday with 17 points, three rebounds, one assist and one block.

With Amare Stoudemire and Cole Aldrich out, he's really the only capable center on the team. Amundson did not even play in the fourth quarter and he was well on his way to a big game. Amundson could barely get minutes last season, but these are your 2014-15 New York Knicks we're talking about here. He's worth a look in deep leagues.
Jan 29 - 9:45 PM

Lou Amundson will sign a deal on Tuesday that will keep him with the Knicks for the rest of the 2014-15 season.

While Amundson has been a solid addition to the Knicks' depleted frontcourt, his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues and owners who are in dire need of blocks. The journeyman has averaged 4.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.0 blocks over his last 10 games, but his 23.0 minute average over that span points to the risk that comes with starting Amundson on any given night.
Jan 29 - 11:10 AM

Lou Amundson started at center and had five points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in Wednesday's surprising win over the Thunder.

Amundson has started in five straight games and has gotten a little better in each one. And when we say "a little," we mean it. He's averaging 4.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks over that stretch, which means he's probably not going to help your fantasy team, unless you're willing to punt points for a couple blocks. Phil Jackson is probably livid the Knicks won this game (their ninth of the season), but you can't say they're not trying to lose as long as Amundson is a starting NBA center.
