Greg Oden remains on the Celtics' radar, but he "doesn't seem to be a high priority," according to the Boston Herald.
Why should he be? Oden is nothing but a lottery ticket for any team that signs him given his injury issues, and the Celtics need someone they can count on behind Kevin Garnett if KG returns. "We'll look into Greg still," Danny Ainge said. "He wasn't ready to play when he saw him last. He wasn't ready to work out." May 20 - 8:25 AM

The Cavaliers are "still considering" signing Greg Oden, according to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

The Cavs are "looking for a defensive center," Pluto concludes, and therefore may trade up to draft Kentucky C Nerlens Noel if they miss out on the No. 1 pick in the lottery. For what it's worth, Oden's agent said in February that the Cavs, Heat and Celtics were in contention, but no decision was expected until July.
May 19 - 9:33 AM

Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas said Greg Oden "looks unbelievable" as he continues his rehab and attempt to return to the NBA.

We heard a lot of positive reports on Oden this year only to see him never sign with a team, but it's possible he'll look to ink a deal during the offseason. "He's running, lifting weights," Thomas said. "You might be seeing a comeback. He looks like he's ready to go. He's running, getting in shape." It doesn't sound like Oden is all the way back yet, but his story will be an intriguing one as teams search in the discount bin for size this summer.
May 17 - 9:11 AM

Greg Oden's agent says his client won't decide on which team to sign with until July.

Mike Conley told Shaun Powell of SportsOnEarth.com that Oden is considering the Heat, Cavs and Celtics. Oden hopes to be ready to return to the league in time to start next season.
Feb 27 - 5:10 PM

The Cavs have worked out Greg Oden a couple of times recently, according to GM Chris Grant.

It does not appear that anything is close between the two sides and after previous reports that Oden could sign this year, it's looking increasingly likely he won't sign until at least the offseason. Whenever Oden is ready to sign somewhere, the Cavs are expected to be right in the mix.
Feb 22 - 8:02 AM

The Heat are once again a suitor for Greg Oden, having cleared a roster spot with Thursday's trade sending Dexter Pittman to the Grizzlies.

This comes directly from Oden's agent and could be nothing more than angling for leverage, but in the past Oden has shown interest in joining the Heat. The Cavaliers are considered the frontrunner for his services, and the Bobcats are also in pursuit, but he's not expected to sign a deal until the offseason.
Feb 21 - 3:01 PM

Greg Oden is unlikely to sign this season and is more likely to sign in the offseason, according to his agent.

Oden's body still isn't physically ready to return to the NBA, but the big man will have at least a handful of suitors when he is finally ready to sign somewhere.
Feb 19 - 1:31 PM

Greg Oden is leaning toward signing with the Cavs, sources tell Fox Sports Ohio.

The Cavs have the cap space available to take a gamble on Oden's health and reportedly plan to offer him a two-year contract. Oden, who is currently spending his time in Ohio, is expected to sign at some point this season, though he is not going to be ready to play until at least the start of next season.
Feb 13 - 11:59 AM

The Heat have reportedly ended their pursuit of free agent Greg Oden.

It's been reported that the Cavs will offer Oden a two-year contract after the Feb. 21 trade deadline, and the Bobcats have also emerged as a legitimate contender for his services. No matter where he signs, Oden won't be playing this season.
Feb 11 - 3:17 PM

The Bobcats are reportedly interested in Greg Oden.

Get in line. The Cavaliers are expected to offer Oden a two-year contract later in February, the Heat are interested, and he's already met with the Celtics, so it doesn't seem very likely that he'll wind up in Charlotte.
Feb 10 - 12:51 PM

A source tells the Akron Beacon-Journal that the Cavs are expected to offer free agent C Greg Oden (knee) a two-year contract after the Feb. 21 trade deadline.

Oden is living and rehabbing in Columbus, about 140 miles away from Cleveland. He's met with both the Cavs and Celtics recently. Teams will wait until after the trade deadline so they can maximize cap space, but expect plenty of more interest to pop up. Despite chronic knee woes that have limited him to 82 games over the last five seasons, Oden remains 7'0/270. The Cavs' deal would reportedly include a team option for a third year, maximizing reward while limiting risk.
Feb 8 - 4:28 PM

Greg Oden's agent, Mike Conley Sr., said that his client is interested in playing with either the Spurs or Bobcats when healthy enough to return.

Conley reiterated that Miami "remains in the picture" for Oden, but after previously saying Oden was likely to sign with a team this season, he now puts those chances at a mere 50-50. It will be an "extended process" for any team that is interested in signing Oden as they will want to double and triple check his medical records. Regardless of where he may land, Oden is still a ways away from returning to live action.
Feb 7 - 8:03 AM

The Celtics have met with free agent Greg Oden about a contract.

"We wanted to talk to Greg to see where he is physically," Danny Ainge said. The Celtics are extremely thin in their frontcourt with the loss of Jared Sullinger (back) for the season and even Jason Collins saw 11 minutes of action. Nothing is imminent and owners should just wait and see if anything develops.
Feb 2 - 3:44 PM

There is mutual interest between Greg Oden and the Cavs.

"The Cavs are high on his list, and they're definitely interested in him, for sure," said agent Mike Conley Sr. Oden has ties to Ohio, so it's really not shocking to learn. The team's connection to the Cleveland Clinic is believed to be "another point in their favor" in the pursuit of Oden.
Jan 31 - 8:18 AM

In addition to the Cavs and Heat, ESPN's Chris Broussard reports the Spurs, Hornets, Bobcats, Pacers and Mavs are interested in Greg Oden.

While that's basically a third of the league eying up Oden, no one should be surprised teams are investigating a player who went No. 1 overall just a few years ago. As the old saying goes, "you can't teach size" and if Oden's knees hold up in limited playing time, he could be an asset to any number of teams. We'll just have to see if Oden can actually stay healthy, which is a massive if at this point.
