Josh McRoberts said he'd "love" to return to the Bobcats as an unrestricted free agent, but he "made it clear money is biggest factor" in his free agency.
Shocker. McBob was surprisingly productive during his stint with the Bobcats, averaging 9.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks on 50.5 percent shooting over 26 games. Mike Dunlap has previously endorsed McRoberts publicly, but the team shouldn't overextend itself to retain him. Apr 19 - 10:15 AM

Josh McRoberts hit 6-of-6 shots and three 3-pointers for 20 points and eight rebounds in Wednesday's season finale.

Had Byron Mullens not been around for the first half of the season, McBob might have had a monster season. He played very well down the stretch for the Cats and will likely be worth a look later in fantasy drafts next year, depending on where he lands. He's an unrestricted free agent.
Apr 17 - 10:48 PM

Josh McRoberts flirted with a triple-double on Monday with 10 points, seven boards and eight assists on 4-of-5 shooting in 37 minutes against the Knicks.

He hasn't been making headlines, but his averages over his previous 10 of 10.4 points, 8.4 boards and 3.3 assists have been useful for fantasy owners. He'll be a decent option against the weak Cavs D on Wednesday.
Apr 15 - 9:41 PM

The Bobcats won on Saturday behind a near triple-double from Josh McRoberts, who had 18 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 38 minutes.

The Bucks badly missed Larry Sanders' rim protection, and with minimal defensive pressure McBob was able to pick his spots carefully -- he hit 7-of-9 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs, and he turned the ball over just once. We're not expecting a big game vs. the Knicks' defense on Monday, but he should fare well in Wednesday's finale vs. the Cavaliers.
Apr 13 - 9:56 PM

Josh McRoberts played 36 minutes against the Pistons on Friday and had 17 points, seven boards, two assists and one steal.

The high minutes have been routine for him and he's played 36.4 per game over his previous 10, averaging 8.1 points and 8.6 boards. He's not going to be a hero for your fantasy team, but the consistency is there.
Apr 12 - 11:08 PM

Josh McRoberts scored eight points on 4-of-12 shooting with 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks in Friday's loss.

McRoberts is going to do a little bit of everything and should be a lock for low-end production barring something unforeseen.
Apr 5 - 11:54 PM

Josh McRoberts had 12 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and four assists in Wednesday's win over the Sixers.

McRoberts had his way with the Sixers' soft front line. He made 6-of-7 shots in 42 hefty minutes, a sign of things to come with Byron Mullens (ankle) possibly done for the season. McRoberts' sub-par talent level keeps him from having games like this consistently, but owners desperate for cheap boards could do worse.
Apr 3 - 9:46 PM

Josh McRoberts played 39 minutes against the Bucks on Monday, just missing a double-double with eight points and 10 boards, adding four boards and one steal.

The Bobcats are going to give him all the minutes he can handle with Byron Mullens out with a sore ankle. McBob isn't really taking threes these days, so he's not going to win any titles for you, but he's getting a large enough portion of minutes to be owned in standard leagues.
Apr 1 - 10:39 PM

Josh McRoberts didn't capitalize in his start at power forward on Friday, scoring six points with four boards, two assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes during a 111-102 loss at Madison Square Garden.

Byron Mullens was a late scratch in this game with a sore left ankle and it's unclear how much time he could miss. Mullens did suffer a severe left ankle sprain earlier this season, so he might need to miss more time. McBob is worth a look in some formats even though his upside isn't that high.
Mar 29 - 11:41 PM

Coach Mike Dunlap praised Josh McRoberts' basketball IQ and indicated he'd like the Bobcats to re-sign McRoberts.

McBob has averaged 8.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks in 11 games as a starter, and while those numbers aren't eye-popping by any stretch, he's had some nice lines along the way. "When he walked in the door you could see his high (basketball) IQ," Dunlap said. "His ability to pass has been contagious." McRoberts will be an unrestricted free agent after the season and is seeking a multi-year deal.
Mar 29 - 8:03 AM

Josh McRoberts returned to the starting lineup from a shoulder injury and had six points, eight rebounds and a block in 33 minutes of Wednesday's win.

McBob is back, and while he didn't exactly kill it tonight, he played solid minutes and Byron Mullens struggled off the bench, hitting 1-of-5 shots for two points in 14 minutes.
Mar 27 - 10:44 PM

Josh McRoberts (left shoulder strain) will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Magic.

McRoberts missed Sunday's game with the strain but is apparently good to go after testing out the shoulder in pregame warmups. McRoberts has been a decent option over the past week and owners should feel free to use him as they normally would tonight. His return will push Byron Mullens back to the bench.
Mar 27 - 6:56 PM

Josh McRoberts hopes to sign a multi-year deal in the offseason.

McRoberts is seeing some stability, but the last time he signed a two-year deal, it was with the Lakers. Since then, he's been traded to Orlando and then sent to Charlotte, so nothing is guaranteed even if he does get a multi-year pact.
Mar 25 - 8:16 AM

Josh McRoberts (left shoulder strain) will not play against the Heat on Sunday.

He suffered the strain in the first quarter of Saturday's game and was able to return, but it has apparently gotten worse overnight. Byron Mullens will start and his fantasy life may be revived with this news. He's worth owning in most situations and McRoberts should be considered questionable vs. Orlando on Wednesday.
Mar 24 - 5:39 PM

Josh McRoberts strained his shoulder during Saturday's game, but he returned in the second half to finish with four points, nine rebounds and two steals in 25 minutes.

The fact that he returned suggests he'll be in the starting lineup vs. Miami on Sunday, but we'll keep him on the injury list as a precaution. In his past five games, McRoberts was averaging 12.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals.
