Josh McRoberts will "do all I can to make it back" from his meniscus surgery next week, and he won't know his timetable for a return until after the procedure.
We can only hope that McBob can return this season, as he was finally starting to figure it out in Miami before going down with the injury. If you have an IR spot available, he may be worth a stash in deeper leagues. However, unless we get a positive report after the surgery, owners in standard leagues should move on. Shawne Williams, Udonis Haslem, and Justin Hamilton will all benefit in his absence. Dec 17 - 6:52 PM

The Miami Heat will apply to the NBA for an injury exception to replace Josh McRoberts (knee surgery).

Under league rules, the Heat will receive a $2.65 million salary cap exception if McRoberts' torn meniscus is deemed season-ending by an independent NBA physician. It would be a surprise if the Heat aren't granted the exception, but for the meantime, Justin Hamilton, Shawne Williams, Chris Andersen, and Udonis Haslem will all see larger roles.

Josh McRoberts (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn right lateral meniscus, and he will be out indefinitely.

McBob will need surgery, and there's a possibility he'll be out for the season. It's a devastating blow for the Heat and continues the lost season for McRoberts after being signed in free agency. Without McBob, Shawne Williams, Udonis Haslem and possibly Justin Hamilton will be asked to play larger roles. The Heat are already facing the possibility of Chris Bosh (calf) missing several weeks as well.
Dec 15 - 2:09 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) will not play against the Bulls on Sunday.

Justin Hamilton, Udonis Haslem, and Shawne Williams will all be asked to step up with both McRoberts and Chris Bosh (calf) sidelined for Sunday's game, with Williams offering the most upside out of the group.

Josh McRoberts (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. Utah.

Justin Hamilton and Shawne Williams will see extended minutes with McRoberts sidelined, but Williams offers the most upside.
Dec 12 - 1:40 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) will not play against the Nuggets on Wednesday.

He was limping before the game and really had no chance to play tonight. McRoberts was starting to get it going, so he should be worth owning in standard leagues once he is healthy again. Shawne Williams will get the start.
Dec 10 - 9:03 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) was limping before Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

He is questionable for tonight, but we'd probably consider him doubtful now. Shawne Williams has played almost 100 percent of his minutes at power forward and should be there tonight. Stay tuned.
Dec 10 - 8:45 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) is considered questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Nuggets.

He has put together two nice games in a row so it would be a shame if he had to sit this one out. After coming down with an illness this week, McBob now has to deal with a contusion in his knee and owners will have to check back for official confirmation on his status. If he can't go, expect Shawne Williams to be the primary beneficiary.
Dec 10 - 12:53 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) played well for the second straight game on Tuesday, finishing with 10 points, seven assists, four rebounds, two 3-pointers and two steals in 33 minutes.

McRoberts bruised his right knee late in the game but said afterward, "It’s just a bruise. I’ll be alright." He's put together back-to-back solid games and his knee injury doesn't sound likely to keep him out of Wednesday's game vs. the Nuggets. If he is available in your league, it's time to snag him since his only competition for minutes moving forward is Shawne Williams and Udonis Haslem.
Dec 9 - 11:31 PM

Josh McRoberts (illness) will play on Tuesday vs. the Suns.

He had his best game of the season on Sunday, so owners in need of a big should give him a long look for his ability to contribute in several areas. Though McRoberts may not be at 100 percent Tuesday, he belongs in most lineups.
Dec 9 - 7:33 PM

Josh McRoberts (illness) was shooting around a few hours prior to Tuesday's game and he appears probable to play vs. the Suns.

Owners should stay tuned for the final word, but early indications are that McRoberts will play even if he's less than 100 percent. If he ends up sitting out, Shawne Williams would be worth a look as a spot-starter.
Dec 9 - 7:07 PM

Josh McRoberts (illness) did not participate during shootaround, and is now being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Suns.

McBob was able to play through his illness on Sunday, and put up a season-high 14 points, to go with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, and five assists, so we'd guess he's on the probable side of questionable. Still, owners will want to check back for an official update on his status closer to tip-off. If he's unable to go, Shawne Williams would likely slide back into the starting lineup, and would make for a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Stay tuned.
Dec 9 - 2:07 PM

Josh McRoberts played through an illness on Sunday, finishing an 87-103 loss to the Grizzlies with a season-high 14 points, two 3-pointers, five rebounds and five assists.

McRoberts has been quiet all season and that hadn't changed since he took over the starting job two games ago, averaging 3.0 points, 0.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in under 22 minutes per contest. Tonight's performance was the first sign that he's ready to produce at last year's level, and his 28 minutes were also a season-high, so you should give him a long look if you need help with 3-pointers, rebounds, assists and efficient low-volume scoring.
Dec 7 - 8:41 PM

Josh McRoberts will start against the Grizzlies on Sunday.

He has been extremely quiet in his starts, averaging 3.0 points, 0.5 boards and 2.5 assists in those two games. McRoberts should get better and has a good chance to have value in standard leagues. Shawne Williams won't be a great fantasy option today.
Dec 7 - 5:54 PM

Updating a previous item, Josh McRoberts Is warming up for Sunday to face the Grizzlies and may play.

There was a report that he was out, but it looks like he's going to at least try to play. Fantasy owners will probably want to avoid this situation for today. Shawne Williams would benefit should McRoberts be limited.
