Josh McRoberts was the only Heat reserve to score double-digit points on Sunday, posting 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting with one rebound and one assist.
McRoberts looked for his shot, unusually, and the second unit held its ground with solid play from Josh Richardson (28 minutes) and Tyler Johnson (21 minutes). Miami's starters couldn't stop the Raptors' offense, however, thanks in large part to a whopping 20 offensive boards for Toronto. McRoberts is one of just four Heat players with a guaranteed contract for 2016-17, joining Goran Dragic, Chris Bosh and Justise Winslow. May 15 - 7:19 PM

Josh McRoberts started the second half of Game 5 in place of Amare Stoudemire, posting six points, three boards and one steal in 18 minutes.

The Heat failed to combat the Raptors with size in the first few quarters, so McRoberts got the nod after halftime in an extra-small lineup. McRoberts could find himself starting Game 6 on Friday, giving him added cache as a DFS punt play.
May 11 - 10:59 PM

Josh McRoberts started the second half of Wednesday's Game 5 ahead of Amare Stoudemire.

Stoudemire was ineffective in the first half and Erik Spoelstra opted for an even smaller lineup with his team facing a double-digit deficit. Check back after the game to see how McBob fared.
May 11 - 9:33 PM

Josh McRoberts scored two points with two rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 21 minutes against the Raptors.

He was a stretch five for most of his minutes out there. McRoberts really won't be doing much scoring while he's out there and the offense didn't go through him much either. He's really just a tourney punt on DFS.
May 9 - 11:43 PM

Josh McRoberts played 13 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday with four points, four rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.

He had some early success against Jonas Valanciunas (ankle), but coach Erik Spoelstra went with more of Udonis Haslem later in the game. If Hassan Whiteside (knee) can't play, McRoberts likely would be looking at 15-20 minutes in the second unit in Game 4. His DFS upside is a little better than Haslem for per-minute value.
May 7 - 7:52 PM

Josh McRoberts played a postseason-high 16 minutes during Game 5, but he failed to score and had just three rebounds, two steals and one assist to his credit.

McBob never looks to score and he passed up some open looks tonight, resulting in empty possessions that can't sit well with coach Erik Spoelstra. He finished 0-of-2 from the field and is a longshot to have DFS appeal in the postseason.
Apr 27 - 10:55 PM

Josh McRoberts made a fill-in start for Luol Deng (knee) on Wednesday, posting nine points, three rebounds and three assists in a road loss vs. the Spurs.

McBob shot 4-of-7 from the field in 30 minutes. He's barely part of the rotation these days, however, and with Deng day-to-day there's no incentive to pick him up. Among the many reasons to avoid him is a paltry usage rate of 14.5 percent, similar to guys like Xavier Munford, Marcelo Huertas and Chase Budinger.
Mar 24 - 12:20 AM

Josh McRoberts (thigh) will start on Wednesday in place of Luol Deng (thigh).

He's really the only other true power forward on the roster. McRoberts could play minutes close to 20 tonight but he's risky to start in most leagues.
Mar 23 - 7:50 PM

Josh McRoberts scored two points with two rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 13 minutes against the Celtics on Saturday.

While the Heat are not expecting Chris Bosh back, McRoberts just can't get enough minutes. The Heat continue to use smaller lineups next to Hassan Whiteside, so McRoberts is only worth a scoop in very deep leagues.
Feb 27 - 5:24 PM

Josh McRoberts scored three points on 1-of-6 shooting on Saturday vs. the Wizards with three boards and three assists in 19 minutes.

He played better than the box score indicated, but he predictably fell back to earth after coming off a massive performance (19 points, 10 assists, six boards, three 3-pointers) against the Hawks on Friday. Tonight's game confirms that McRoberts is only an option in deeper leagues even with Chris Bosh (blood clots) on the shelf.
Feb 20 - 11:19 PM

Josh McRoberts exploded out of nowhere against the Hawks on Friday with 19 points, six rebounds, 10 assists and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Wow. That's season highs in points, dimes, and 3-pointers. The Heat were extremely shorthanded tonight and McRoberts has played a combined 24 minutes in his previous games this month. He could benefit from Chris Bosh (blood clots) missing time, but he's only worth a look if you have something to cut. Another positive outing on Saturday would make him a much stronger pickup.
Feb 20 - 12:20 AM

Josh McRoberts (sore right knee) was present at practice on Thursday.

McRoberts has been dealing with soreness in his surgically-repaired right knee, but looks to be healthy to start the second half of the season. While he can help the Heat with a veteran presence, McBob is only averaging 3.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this season and can be left on waiver wires.
Feb 18 - 1:21 PM

Josh McRoberts is still dealing with soreness in his right knee.

"I'm still just trying to get healthy," he said. "I mean that's a bone bruise, so it's doesn't really heal. It's just a matter like of getting back into a rhythm, just getting back into rhythm and trying to help out." It's debatable whether McBob will ever be fully right this season, and he can safely be left on your waiver wire.
Feb 15 - 11:34 AM

The trade market for Josh McRoberts is close to non-existent according to Bobby Marks of Yahoo Sports.

McRoberts is signed through the 2017-18 season, but his myriad of injuries have scared away potential suitors. The 28-year-old is only averaging 14.9 minutes in the 24 games he's been healthy this season and can be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues.
Feb 9 - 9:38 AM

Josh McRoberts is focused on getting healthy and contributing to the Heat.

"I’m just trying to get healthy and have a chance to help the team in a way that I know I can," he said. It's been a trying road for McBob in Miami, relegating him to waiver wire fodder in fantasy leagues.
