Josh McRoberts (knee) said that he is close to 100 percent and is expecting to be ready in time for training camp.
"I don't think I'm ever going to see 100 percent," McRoberts said jokingly. "I've played too long to be 100 percent, but I'm getting pretty close. I've had a great summer here rehabbing with St. Vincent and think I'll be ready to go. I can't wait for the season to get going. I'm just trying to rehab and get back here for the start of camp. I'm excited to get back on the court and do what I love to do." McRoberts could be the first big off the bench for Miami behind Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside, so he is worth a look in deeper leagues for his solid all-around game. Aug 14 - 12:41 PM

The Heat are not shopping Josh McRoberts or Chris Andersen on the trade market.

Miami is going to need both behind Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside this season and neither should be moved unless another team overwhelms Pat Riley. Considering the subjects we're discussing, that's very unlikely.
Jul 20 - 9:57 AM

Josh McRoberts (knee) said that he is not expecting to return to action at any point this season.

McRoberts has been progressing well, but it's a shame that he won't be able to play if the Heat advance to the playoffs. We will monitor his status closely in the offseason, but it's safe to drop him in all re-draft leagues.
Apr 4 - 11:56 AM

Josh McRoberts (knee) still isn't working with Miami's coaches and he remains out indefinitely.

McRoberts is traveling with the Heat to work with the team's training staff, but it doesn't sound like he's close to resuming on-court work. A return during the playoffs is feasible but fantasy owners can't expect any production in Miami's final nine regular-season games.
Mar 29 - 5:08 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) may travel with the Heat on their upcoming four-game road trip, but that doesn't mean he will return anytime soon.

McRoberts remains without a timetable to return, but this is a good sign and he is said to be progressing well from knee surgery. However, there is no guarantee that we will see McRoberts back on the court this season and the Heat will likely proceed with caution, so there is no need to own him outside of the deepest of leagues. As always, we will provide an update on his status when we know more.
Mar 21 - 2:05 PM

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said that Josh McRoberts has been progressing well in his recovery from knee surgery.

McRoberts has been working out twice a day with trainers, and there remains a possibility that he will be able to return to the court at some point this season. However, if McBob is able to return, he'll likely be brought along very slowly, and with just 15 games remaining for Miami, he's very unlikely to become a factor in standard leagues. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 20 - 6:13 PM

There is reportedly a chance that Josh McRoberts (knee) could return before the end of the regular season.

Talk about a comeback. McBob was supposed to be sidelined for the entire season after having meniscus surgery in December, but there are now whispers that the Heat are cautiously optimistic about a potential return for the versatile power forward. With Chris Bosh ruled out for the season, the Heat could definitely use McRobert's services so we will definitely be tracking this story very closely.
Feb 22 - 6:32 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) is off of crutches.

He joked that he could give Miami eight minutes of playing time tonight, but he is almost certainly out for the season. McRoberts should be ready for the start of the 2015-16 season.
Feb 21 - 6:20 PM

Pat Riley denied that the Heat offered Josh McRoberts (knee surgery) to the Nets in a package for Brook Lopez.

Riley told reporters that he hasn't "offered anyone to anybody," though he's been engaged in undisclosed trade talks. "There’s a lot of conversation but we’re not active," Riley said. "We’re not about to give up assets that we don’t have, that we need, to make a lateral move out of desperation ... If it’s a player to take us into the future, we’ll think about it. It’s fluid."
Jan 23 - 9:28 AM

The Miami Heat announced that Josh McRoberts had a successful knee surgery and is likely to miss the rest of the 2014-15 season.

The Heat have already applied for an injury exception and have also been rumored to be interested in signing Josh Smith. We'll update McBob's condition as more news becomes available, but he can safely be dropped in standard leagues while Shawne Williams, Udonis Haslem, and Justin Hamilton will also see a small boost in fantasy value.

Josh McRoberts will "do all I can to make it back" from his meniscus surgery next week, and he won't know his timetable for a return until after the procedure.

We can only hope that McBob can return this season, as he was finally starting to figure it out in Miami before going down with the injury. If you have an IR spot available, he may be worth a stash in deeper leagues. However, unless we get a positive report after the surgery, owners in standard leagues should move on. Shawne Williams, Udonis Haslem, and Justin Hamilton will all benefit in his absence.

The Miami Heat will apply to the NBA for an injury exception to replace Josh McRoberts (knee surgery).

Under league rules, the Heat will receive a $2.65 million salary cap exception if McRoberts' torn meniscus is deemed season-ending by an independent NBA physician. It would be a surprise if the Heat aren't granted the exception, but for the meantime, Justin Hamilton, Shawne Williams, Chris Andersen, and Udonis Haslem will all see larger roles.

Josh McRoberts (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn right lateral meniscus, and he will be out indefinitely.

McBob will need surgery, and there's a possibility he'll be out for the season. It's a devastating blow for the Heat and continues the lost season for McRoberts after being signed in free agency. Without McBob, Shawne Williams, Udonis Haslem and possibly Justin Hamilton will be asked to play larger roles. The Heat are already facing the possibility of Chris Bosh (calf) missing several weeks as well.

Josh McRoberts (knee) will not play against the Bulls on Sunday.

Justin Hamilton, Udonis Haslem, and Shawne Williams will all be asked to step up with both McRoberts and Chris Bosh (calf) sidelined for Sunday's game, with Williams offering the most upside out of the group.
Sun, Dec 14, 2014 04:44:00 PM

Josh McRoberts (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. Utah.

Justin Hamilton and Shawne Williams will see extended minutes with McRoberts sidelined, but Williams offers the most upside.
