Marco Belinelli (hamstring) shot 2-of-9 from the field for six points, three rebounds and two assists against the Grizzlies on Monday.
Jeremy Lamb outplayed Belinelli for the second straight game, so his minutes might trend in the wrong direction moving forward. There should be better options on your waiver wire. Nov 28 - 11:41 PM

Date:

Marco Belinelli (hamstring) is available to play on Monday vs. the Grizzlies.

With Nicolas Batum (eye) also playing, this likely means that there will be less minutes available for Jeremy Lamb. Belinelli wasn't able to finish Friday's game, so his workload could be limited. He's not a recommended fantasy option.
Nov 28 - 7:12 PM

Marco Belinelli (hamstring) is a game-time call vs. the Grizzlies on Monday.

We likely won't have the official word on his status before many lineups lock in 20 minutes. The good news for the Hornets is that Nicolas Batum (eye) is playing according to coach Steve Clifford. Jeremy Lamb will soak up most of Belinelli's minutes if he's unable to give it a go. Stay tuned.
Nov 28 - 6:35 PM

Marco Belinelli (hamstring) is questionable to play vs. Memphis on Monday.

Jeremy Lamb stands to gain the most if Belinelli can't suit up, though his upside is capped with Nicolas Batum (eye) considered probable to face the Grizzlies. We should have another update after Monday's shootaround.
Nov 27 - 6:53 PM

Marco Belinelli did not play in the fourth quarter due to a hamstring injury on Saturday.

That may explain why his playing time was so down despite how Jeremy Lamb went off. Belinelli scored just five points in 20 minutes tonight despite how he was coming in red hot. If Belinelli does need to miss time, Lamb would likely be the first wing off the bench once Nicolas Batum (eye) comes back.
Nov 26 - 10:53 PM

Marco Belinelli scored five points in 20 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer.

Well, Jeremy Lamb was just rolling for tonight, so Belinelli didn't get his chance. Nicolas Batum (eye) shouldn't be out for too long, so there's no need to grab Bello in most leagues.
Nov 26 - 10:34 PM

Marco Bellinelli was on fire against the Knicks on Friday, making 7-of-11 from the field for 19 points with two rebounds, three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

The Hornets needed some help at the wings and Belinelli was their man. His playing time did drop slightly in his last game with the return of Jeremy Lamb on Wednesday, but it picked right back up with Lamb getting a DNP-CD. Plus, he should have more minutes coming his way with the Hornets now having to go smaller while Marvin Williams (knee) is out. If you need some 3-pointers in a deeper league, give him a look.
Nov 25 - 11:40 PM

Marco Belinelli played 31 minutes and hit 3-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in Monday's loss.

He's hot right now and had 22 points, 10 boards, five assists and seven 3-pointers in his previous game on Saturday. Marvin Williams is really struggling right now, so Belinelli could continue to stay hot. If you're looking for a deep-league flier, Bello's certainly worth a look after his last two games.
Nov 21 - 11:08 PM

Marco Belinelli hit 7-of-13 shots (all 3-pointers) for a season-high 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in 33 minutes off the Hornets bench in Saturday's overtime 121-116 loss to the Pelicans.

Whoa. Bello's previous high this season was just 13 points and this game came out of nowhere, considering he'd scored 6, 12, 9 and 6 points in each of his previous four games. This looks like a fluke more than anything, so don't feel like you need to run out and pick him up.
Nov 19 - 11:59 PM

The Hornets are listing Marco Belinelli as the starter at small forward in place of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for Friday's game.

This will be Belinelli's first start this season. He is currently averaging 8.9 points in 25.0 minutes per game. Belinelli could be considered a possible value play in DFS on Friday, but the issue is he provides little else other than scoring. And he has played over 27 minutes in each of the Hornets last two games, so it's not like he is going to see a huge spike in playing tonight over his normal distribution.
Nov 11 - 12:26 PM

Marco Belinelli came off the Hornets' bench on Monday for 14 points (3-of-8 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs) with four boards, three assists, two 3-pointers and one steal in 23 minutes.

Belinelli fractured his jaw in June but the injury was never a major concern, and it hasn't cost him any time as he meshes with new teammates during training camp. Steve Clifford recently referred to Belinelli as "a legitimate rotation player," but he's only worth owning in deep leagues as a source of scoring and 3-pointers.
Oct 17 - 11:09 PM

Steve Clifford was pleased with the Hornets acquisition of Marco Belinelli this offseason.

"Trading the 22nd pick for Belinelli set up the whole thing in my mind. He’s a legitimate rotation player who can play right now," Clifford said. "You’re just not going to get [a rookie] at 22 who can do that." The Hornets don't have a ton of depth at the two-guard spot, so Belinelli should be able to see around 25 minutes a night. He's not much more than a 3-point specialist in really deep leagues.
Sep 13 - 6:27 PM

Marco Belinelli (face) will be a game-time call vs. Tunisia on Monday.

He suffered a fracture of his jaw bone against Canada on June 26, but it's a great sign that he might be able to play this early. He will likely wear a protective mask and is scheduled to meet with a specialist on Monday morning.

Marco Belinelli has suffered a fracture of his jaw bone, according to Sportando.

The report also states that Belinelli is expected to join training camp for the national team on Tuesday, so it's unclear how long he may be sidelined. After the Hornets just surprisingly traded the No. 22 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft in exchange for Belinelli's services, Charlotte has to be hopeful this injury doesn't have a long-term impact.
Jun 27 - 9:05 AM

Marco Belinelli went to the hospital after being hit in the left eye during an exhibition game for Team Italy on Sunday.

Currently there aren't any additional details regarding Belinelli's eye, although a hospital visit indicates that he could be dealing with a significant injury. A worst-case scenario here would likely be an orbital fracture, and while that would likely force Belinelli out of the Olympics, he'd still have plenty of time to recover for the 2016-17 season.
