Marco Belinelli matched his season-high with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and three triples in 32 minutes vs. the Cavaliers on Friday.
He has the hot hand right now and coach Steve Clifford is riding him. He scored 20 points in 21 minutes in his previous outing, but picked up a big chunk of minutes tonight with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in foul trouble. Belinelli hit 7-of-12 shots and made all five of his free throws, but with a playoff spot looking out of reach, the Hornets may be tempted to give Jeremy Lamb more burn at the expense of Belinelli. If he has another good game on Sunday vs. the Suns, give him a look since the Hornets play four times next week. Mar 24 - 10:42 PM

Marco Belinelli scored 20 points in just 21 minutes during Wednesday's road win, hitting 5-of-9 FGs and 7-of-8 FTs with three 3-pointers, three rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Belinelli came in ice cold from the field but he scored 16 points in the first half alone, helping to keep the Hornets close despite his teammates' struggles. The veteran rarely does much beyond scoring and hitting a handful of 3-pointers, and there should be better specialists available in most leagues.
Mar 22 - 9:42 PM

Marco Belinelli got hot against the Magic on Friday with 18 points, three assists and one turnover in 22 minutes.

The Hornets used more small-ball lineups than perhaps any other night this season, which allowed Belinelli to get some extra minutes on the wing. He only scored two points in the fourth quarter, so Bello's performance is part of the reason why the Hornets won this game so easily. He could be a decent option on Saturday, assuming the Hornets are still short on bigs.
Mar 10 - 9:56 PM

Marco Belinelli hit 4-of-9 shots, 1-of-3 3-pointers and 8-of-9 free throws on his way to 17 points, three rebounds and a block in 26 minutes off the Charlotte bench on Monday.

Bello has quietly scored 17, 13 and 16 points in each of his last three games, but hasn't had an assist or steal in his last two games. He has hit four 3-pointers, and if you're looking for some points and threes, he's a decent low-end fantasy option right now. He's played at least 24 minutes in five straight games.
Feb 7 - 9:56 PM

Marco Belinelli scored 16 points with seven assists, two rebounds and one steal on Wednesday, making 6-of-11 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs in 30 bench minutes.

The Hornets' second unit was actually quite good tonight, but the starters were decimated in an eventual 126-111 loss. Belinelli's fantasy fortunes haven't changed much this season -- he remains a cheap source of points and 3s with some steals, better suited to deeper leagues.
Feb 2 - 1:23 AM

Marco Belinelli came off the bench and hit 5-of-12 shots, two 3-pointers and 6-of-7 free throws for 18 points, three rebounds,, two assists and a steal in 29 minutes on Monday.

The 18 points were the most he's scored since Dec. 17 and he's now scored in double figures in three of his last four games. He's far from a must-own player, but if you need some points and threes, he's worth a look right now, as long as he can stay hot. The fact that Nicolas Batum had one of his worst games of the season helped Belinelli see 29 minutes, which is the most he's played in the month of January.
Jan 23 - 9:37 PM

Marco Belinelli made 5-of-8 shots on Wednesday with one 3-pointer, finishing with 13 points, five boards, three assists and one steal.

Belinelli came in shooting an abysmal 28.3 percent in January. He missed five games in late December and early January, and coach Steve Clifford suggested that he was still struggling because he's "such a rhythm player." He finally gained some traction tonight, but isn't really worth owning unless you need 3-pointers in a deep league.
Jan 18 - 11:00 PM

Marco Belinelli scored six points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals and five turnovers in 22 minutes against the 76ers on Friday.

He surprisingly didn't really benefit with Jeremy Lamb (foot) out of the lineup. Coach Steve Clifford used a little Ramon Sessions at the two and we even saw Treveon Graham get first-half minutes. Leave Belinelli on the wire for now.
Jan 13 - 9:39 PM

Marco Belinelli, who had hit just 3-of-30 shots over his last three games, hit 6-of-13 and three 3-pointers for 15 points, three rebounds and six assists in Tuesday's loss to the Rockets.

Belinelli will see some extra looks and minutes as long as Nicolas Batum is out with a knee injury, but a timeshare with Jeremy Lamb is going to hurt him. Belinelli was playing fairly well before going down with a sprained ankle and this is the first time he's looked good since returning four games ago. If you need a shooting guard who can hit 3-pointers and hand out assists, Belinelli might be worth a flier right now. But he'd be a little more enticing if he was starting for Batum, and not Lamb.
Jan 10 - 11:06 PM

Marco Belinelli hit 2-of-10 shots for five points with four rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s 85-102 loss to the Spurs.

With Nicolas Batum (knee) sidelined, Belinelli played 26 minutes off the bench. He was outproduced by Jeremy Lamb who got the start and played 28 minutes. Belinelli continues to struggle with his shot since returning from injury, hitting just 3-of-30 field goals in his last three games. That being said, so long as Batum is out, Belinelli should continue to see a boost in minutes.
Jan 8 - 1:08 AM

Marco Belinelli scored five points with two rebounds, one assist and two steals in Thursday’s 114-115 loss to the Pistons.

All of his points came from the free throw line as he missed all six of his field goal attempts. Prior to his ankle injury, Belinelli averaged 26.5 minutes and 13.4 points per game in the month of December. If Nicolas Batum (knee) misses any time, Belinelli will see a boost in playing time and a larger role.
Jan 6 - 1:16 AM

Marco Belinelli returned from his left ankle injury on Wednesday, coming off the bench for seven points, two rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes vs. the Thunder.

Belinelli missed five games due to the injury and he was on a minute-limit tonight, but it shouldn't take long before he's playing his usual 25-minute role off the bench. His return is bad news for Jeremy Lamb, whose short-term value has likely ceased.
Jan 4 - 10:02 PM

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) is likely to have a minutes limit in his return on Wednesday.

He hasn't played since Dec. 23, so bringing him back slowly makes sense. With Belinelli back, Jeremy Lamb could lose some minutes while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could also lose some run, especially if the Hornets are trailing late.
Jan 4 - 5:36 PM

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) will play Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

He'll be returning from a five-game absence, so he may not be working with a full complement of minutes tonight. Jeremy Lamb will lose most of his playing time with Belinelli back in the fold, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's fourth-quarter minutes could also take a hit once Belinelli is fully up to speed. Belinelli was playing well prior to going down, so give him a look if you're in need of some 3-point shooting.
Jan 4 - 11:14 AM

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

He's missed the past five games, and we haven't seen any reports of him ramping up his activities at practice, so he feels a bit closer to doubtful for Wednesday. If he's out, Jeremy Lamb will continue to see some increased minutes with the second unit, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will see his fourth quarter minutes unimpeded.
