Marco Belinelli made 5-of-8 shots on Wednesday with one 3-pointer, finishing with 13 points, five boards, three assists and one steal.
Belinelli came in shooting an abysmal 28.3 percent in January. He missed five games in late December and early January, and coach Steve Clifford suggested that he was still struggling because he's "such a rhythm player." He finally gained some traction tonight, but isn't really worth owning unless you need 3-pointers in a deep league. Jan 18 - 11:00 PM

Marco Belinelli scored six points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals and five turnovers in 22 minutes against the 76ers on Friday.

He surprisingly didn't really benefit with Jeremy Lamb (foot) out of the lineup. Coach Steve Clifford used a little Ramon Sessions at the two and we even saw Treveon Graham get first-half minutes. Leave Belinelli on the wire for now.
Jan 13 - 9:39 PM

Marco Belinelli, who had hit just 3-of-30 shots over his last three games, hit 6-of-13 and three 3-pointers for 15 points, three rebounds and six assists in Tuesday's loss to the Rockets.

Belinelli will see some extra looks and minutes as long as Nicolas Batum is out with a knee injury, but a timeshare with Jeremy Lamb is going to hurt him. Belinelli was playing fairly well before going down with a sprained ankle and this is the first time he's looked good since returning four games ago. If you need a shooting guard who can hit 3-pointers and hand out assists, Belinelli might be worth a flier right now. But he'd be a little more enticing if he was starting for Batum, and not Lamb.
Jan 10 - 11:06 PM

Marco Belinelli hit 2-of-10 shots for five points with four rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s 85-102 loss to the Spurs.

With Nicolas Batum (knee) sidelined, Belinelli played 26 minutes off the bench. He was outproduced by Jeremy Lamb who got the start and played 28 minutes. Belinelli continues to struggle with his shot since returning from injury, hitting just 3-of-30 field goals in his last three games. That being said, so long as Batum is out, Belinelli should continue to see a boost in minutes.
Jan 8 - 1:08 AM

Marco Belinelli scored five points with two rebounds, one assist and two steals in Thursday’s 114-115 loss to the Pistons.

All of his points came from the free throw line as he missed all six of his field goal attempts. Prior to his ankle injury, Belinelli averaged 26.5 minutes and 13.4 points per game in the month of December. If Nicolas Batum (knee) misses any time, Belinelli will see a boost in playing time and a larger role.
Jan 6 - 1:16 AM

Marco Belinelli returned from his left ankle injury on Wednesday, coming off the bench for seven points, two rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes vs. the Thunder.

Belinelli missed five games due to the injury and he was on a minute-limit tonight, but it shouldn't take long before he's playing his usual 25-minute role off the bench. His return is bad news for Jeremy Lamb, whose short-term value has likely ceased.
Jan 4 - 10:02 PM

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) is likely to have a minutes limit in his return on Wednesday.

He hasn't played since Dec. 23, so bringing him back slowly makes sense. With Belinelli back, Jeremy Lamb could lose some minutes while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could also lose some run, especially if the Hornets are trailing late.
Jan 4 - 5:36 PM

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) will play Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

He'll be returning from a five-game absence, so he may not be working with a full complement of minutes tonight. Jeremy Lamb will lose most of his playing time with Belinelli back in the fold, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's fourth-quarter minutes could also take a hit once Belinelli is fully up to speed. Belinelli was playing well prior to going down, so give him a look if you're in need of some 3-point shooting.
Jan 4 - 11:14 AM

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

He's missed the past five games, and we haven't seen any reports of him ramping up his activities at practice, so he feels a bit closer to doubtful for Wednesday. If he's out, Jeremy Lamb will continue to see some increased minutes with the second unit, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will see his fourth quarter minutes unimpeded.

Marco Belinelli (ankle) will not play on Monday vs. the Bulls.

This will be his fifth game in a row on the shelf and the Hornets continue to list him as "out" on the game notes. Jeremy Lamb will pick up a few extra minutes on the wings, while Michael Kiid-Gilchrist will see a heavy workload in the starting lineup.
Jan 2 - 6:47 PM

Marco Belinelli (ankle) will not play against the Cavs on Saturday.

He was doubtful to play and will now miss his fourth straight outing. With him out, Jeremy Lamb has stepped right in for those backup wing minutes while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has played more late in games.

Marco Belinelli (ankle) is doubtful to play on Saturday against the Cavs.

The Hornets have really seen Jeremy Lamb step up, so they haven't missed Belinelli too much. Plus, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has seen stead minutes with more time in the clutch, including when they are losing. Belinelli could have some value upon his return, but his upside isn't great off the bench.

Marco Belinelli (left ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Magic.

This will be Belinelli's second straight game on the sidelines, and there's a good chance he'll miss more than a few games with this injury. Jeremy Lamb could pick up some extra minutes in Belinelli's absence, but Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is the true primary beneficiary here.

Marco Belinelli (left ankle sprain) will not play on Monday vs. the Nets.

He was listed as doubtful and never had a real shot to play tonight. With Belinelli out, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's minutes will finally be safe, while Jeremy Lamb should pick up some decent run off the bench. Lamb has been impressive in limited minutes all season and is on the radar as a punt play in DFS.

Marco Belinelli (left ankle sprain) is not expected to play on Monday vs. Brooklyn.

Charlotte's pregame notes list Belinelli as doubtful, and that isn't a surprise after the veteran had to be helped off the court on Friday after sustaining the injury. Without the Steve Clifford favorite available, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Jeremy Lamb should be the biggest beneficiaries from a playing time perspective.
