Jared Dudley did not score with one rebound in 17 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.
Dragan Bender got the hook after six first-quarter minutes and Dudley saw some fourth-quarter run. It looked like Dudley was going to close, but Marquese Chriss took over late thanks to a strong game. Maybe Dudley takes Bender's role as a backup, but obviously there's not enough upside to take a chance before it happens. Dec 10 - 3:19 AM

Jared Dudley returned on Friday with zero points, one rebound and no turnovers.

This wasn't all garbage time for Dudley as he checked in once Greg Monroe picked up his third foul in the second quarter. If Monroe wasn't in foul trouble, maybe Dudley would not have played. It's really tough to trust Dudley in fantasy on this young team.
Nov 24 - 11:52 PM

Jared Dudley (knee) is available to play on Friday against the Pelicans.

He's been out of the lineup since he tweaked his knee under the basket back on Nov. 10. Marquese Chriss is in some kind of slump and it'll be interesting to see how the power forward minutes are split between the three. This could be bad news for Chriss.
Nov 24 - 1:33 PM

Jared Dudley (knee) is listed as doubtful in the game notes for Wednesday's matchup vs. Milwaukee.

Dudley was averaging 20.2 minutes per in the three games he played immediately preceding his knee injury, but has now missed each of the last five for Phoenix. Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson will continue to soak additional minutes.
Nov 21 - 7:21 PM

Jared Dudley (knee) won't play vs. the Bulls on Sunday.

Phoenix has no reason to rush their veteran forward back, but Dudley did initially say he hoped to return in 1-2 weeks -- that was 10 days ago. Until he returns, expect Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender to have an easier time playing consistent minutes.
Nov 19 - 6:28 PM

Jared Dudley (knee) said he hopes to play in 1-2 weeks.

The good news is the MRI was negative, so there is nothing structurally wrong after Josh Jackson fell on his leg on Friday. With Dudley out, this should give Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender some new life.
Nov 11 - 7:56 PM

Jared Dudley (knee) will not play against the Wolves on Saturday.

The good news an MRI came back clean, so he is only day-to-day. That means Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender should take on most of the power forward minutes, and maybe even Josh Jackson gets some after his best game. Dudley will likely be brought back slowly after his Friday injury.
Nov 11 - 7:22 PM

Jared Dudley (right knee) went to the locker room in the fourth quarter on Friday and will not return.

Josh Jackson fell on Dudley's shin and caused his leg to hyperextend. Dudley flexed his knee for about 30 seconds and was able to hobble back to the locker room under his own power. With him out, it'll be more Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson.
Nov 10 - 10:56 PM

Jared Dudley scored a season-high 13 points with five rebounds, four assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 23 minutes against the Heat on Wednesday.

The Suns desperately need some help in their second unit offense, so it looks like Dudley is the answer for now. Coach Jay Triano has said he is looking to get Dudley more playing time and he's coming off a 21-minute Monday, so these minutes may come at the expense of Dragan Bender due to how he's holding the team back on O. Dudley is likely going to lose his playing time at some point in the near future, but he could have short-term value in deeper leagues.
Nov 9 - 12:17 AM

Jay Triano indicated that Jared Dudley could again see extended minutes on Wednesday vs. the Heat.

Dudley logged a season-high 21 minutes on Monday, and it sounds like he could see a similar workload tonight, particularly if Tyson Chandler (back) is unable to give it a go. Dudley is capable of offering some low-end value in deep leagues, but more minutes for Dudley isn't great news for Marquese Chriss.
Nov 8 - 1:54 PM

Jared Dudley played 21 minutes and had six points, five rebounds, an assist, a block and a 3-pointer on 2-of-3 shooting in Monday's loss to the Nets.

The Suns are playing three guys at power forward right now (Dudley, Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender), but Dudley killed them in minutes played tonight. Dudley's not a guy you'll want to run out and pick up, but if he keeps getting more minutes than the other two, he'll at least be worth keeping an eye on.
Nov 6 - 11:55 PM

Jared Dudley made his season debut on Monday vs. the Kings, finishing scoreless with one turnover in five minutes.

This was first action since he had a procedure on his toe back in June. Dudley isn't a part of Phoenix's plans going forward with the franchise tanking, but they may showcase him for a trade at some point.
Oct 24 - 1:43 AM

Jared Dudley underwent a left toe ligament and bone procedure and is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 months.

This means Dudley could miss training camp and potentially the start of the 2017-18 season. Dudley has two years on his deal with Phoenix, but with the Suns rebuilding, he will likely be more of a locker room guy again in 2017-18. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 3-pointers in 21.3 minutes per game last season, so fantasy owners can plan on ignoring him in most formats.
Jun 27 - 7:55 PM

The Suns have reportedly spoken to the Pelicans about a trade involving Jared Dudley, likely in exchange for second-round picks.

New Orleans holds the No. 40 pick, in addition to the No. 52 pick they acquired from the Wizards for Tim Frazier. Dudley would give the Pelicans an alternative to guys like Solomon Hill, Quincy Pondexter and Dante Cunningham, but it's obviously not a given that this deal will come to fruition.
Jun 22 - 5:36 PM

Jared Dudley matched his season-high 19 points against the Warriors on Wednesday, adding seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

The Suns are playing Dudley as a small forward these days, which is big for him now that Dragan Bender is back and Marquese Chriss is playing well. It's still really tough to trust Dudley because there's always the fear of him getting a day off. If you want to take a chance on him and hope he doesn't get a night off, give him a look.
