Jared Dudley underwent a left toe ligament and bone procedure and is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 months.
This means Dudley could miss training camp and potentially the start of the 2017-18 season. Dudley has two years on his deal with Phoenix, but with the Suns rebuilding, he will likely be more of a locker room guy again in 2017-18. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 3-pointers in 21.3 minutes per game last season, so fantasy owners can plan on ignoring him in most formats. Jun 27 - 7:55 PM

The Suns have reportedly spoken to the Pelicans about a trade involving Jared Dudley, likely in exchange for second-round picks.

New Orleans holds the No. 40 pick, in addition to the No. 52 pick they acquired from the Wizards for Tim Frazier. Dudley would give the Pelicans an alternative to guys like Solomon Hill, Quincy Pondexter and Dante Cunningham, but it's obviously not a given that this deal will come to fruition.
Jun 22 - 5:36 PM

Jared Dudley matched his season-high 19 points against the Warriors on Wednesday, adding seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

The Suns are playing Dudley as a small forward these days, which is big for him now that Dragan Bender is back and Marquese Chriss is playing well. It's still really tough to trust Dudley because there's always the fear of him getting a day off. If you want to take a chance on him and hope he doesn't get a night off, give him a look.
Apr 6 - 12:45 AM

Jared Dudley scored 12 points with two rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers against the Hornets on Sunday.

He's playing arguably his best ball since November and the Suns not having depth is a big reason why. The Suns do want Dragan Bender (ankle) to return at some point this year and the rookie is doing some on-court work, so that casts some doubt on Dudley the rest of the way.
Mar 26 - 3:44 PM

Jared Dudley matched his career-high 10 dimes against the Celtics on Friday, adding six points, four rebounds and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

He shockingly had six assists in the final 14 minutes to help get Devin Booker going. The Suns need bodies out there, so Dudley should continue to play minutes in the 20s. He's still not going to be worth owning in most leagues. Plus, maybe Dragan Bender comes back.
Mar 24 - 10:46 PM

Jared Dudley was ejected from Tuesday's game vs. the Wizards.

After Jason Smith set a hard screen on Tyler Ulis, Dudley came over and appeared to head-butt Smith. It wasn't all that serious and he shouldn't have to worry about a suspension. He finished with one assist and one steal in six minutes. If he was in your fantasy lineup, you probably weren't going to win anyways.
Mar 7 - 9:55 PM

Jared Dudley scored five points with one rebound, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes against the Hornets on Thursday.

He picked up some added run because Marquese Chriss was hurt in the first half. Plus, the Suns just stuck with their second unit to close this out. Chriss sounds like he'll be OK, so Dudley isn't really an add here.
Mar 3 - 12:42 AM

Jared Dudley played 20 minutes against the Bulls on Friday with three points, one rebound and one assist.

He was Marquese Chriss' backup tonight and that may continue until Dragan Bender (ankle) can return. The Suns are hoping Bender can return next month, so Dudley's low upside could only last for a couple weeks. Most owners should be able to do better.
Feb 25 - 12:21 AM

Jared Dudley (illness) played seven minutes with one rebound against the Bucks on Saturday.

Even with Dragan Bender (ankle) out, Dudley couldn't get decent minutes. The Suns will continue to turn to their young guys. Dudley will be a nice extension of the coaching staff with all his NBA experience.
Feb 5 - 12:39 AM

Jared Dudley (illness) is available for Saturday's game vs. the Bucks.

He's been out of the rotation lately because coach Earl Watson would rather play P.J. Tucker 30+ minutes. Dudley is not worth picking up.
Feb 4 - 7:51 PM

Jared Dudley (illness) is probable to play against the Bucks on Saturday.

If he is available, he could get minutes with Dragan Bender out. Still, Dudley is not a reliable fantasy asset.

Feb 4 - 5:34 PM

Jared Dudley (illness) is listed as out for Friday's game vs. the Kings.

Very little fantasy impact here, as Dudley has played more than six minutes in a game just once since Christmas.

Feb 3 - 10:53 AM

Jared Dudley (illness) will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday.

With Dragan Bender (ankle) available, Dudley likely wouldn't have been in the rotation anyway.
Feb 1 - 8:02 PM

Jared Dudley played 18 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday with two points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and three fouls.

Coach Earl Watson got creative against the Nuggets with Dudley getting some minutes at the five. Marquese Chriss was in foul trouble and Dragan Bender (ankle) didn't play, so this was the perfect storm for Dudley to get minutes. We're not expecting him to play in the next one on Saturday vs. the Nuggets.
Jan 27 - 12:32 AM

Jared Dudley (illness) is available for Thursday against the Nuggets.

He's not in the rotation right now with Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss holding down the power forward minutes when the Suns aren't going small. Leave Dudley on the wire.
