Wilson Chandler (hip surgery) is progressing ahead of schedule, but he remains out for the season.
"Probably if the season was longer [they would let me play]," Chandler said. "But if we don't make the playoffs there's no sense in rushing it." Chandler has been able to do some running and could be cleared to start scrimmaging in May. This means he will be ready to roll for training camp prior to next season, but he will be a risky late-round flier for his shaky injury history. Mar 22 - 9:00 PM

Date:

Wilson Chandler (hip) had successful surgery on Monday.

He is out for the season and should be ready for next year. The Nuggets locked him up this summer, so he'll be with the team. With Chandler out, Will Barton (shoulder) should have a key role the rest of the way.

WIlson Chandler (hip surgery) will have surgery and miss the rest of the season.

He has a tear in his labrum and should make a complete recovery for next year. With Chandler out, the Nuggets will be using more conventional lineups instead of so many stretch fours with Chandler and Danilo Gallinari. This also likely means Kostas Papanikolaou will stay on the team while Darrell Arthur and Will Barton may get more minutes.

Wilson Chandler (hip) has no timetable to return and he is "not progressing," according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post.

"I know that they are exhausting every and all option to try to get him back," Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. Chandler has typically been a slow healer, so this news isn't a surprise. The Nuggets were going to use him and Danilo Gallinari as stretch fours, so expect a few more minutes to go to Darrell Arthur, Will Barton and Kostas Papnikolaou. Chandler isn't a great stash in standard leagues until he has a timetable to return.

Wilson Chandler (hip) will remain sidelined for Wednesday's game vs. the Bucks.

Chandler was hopeful he'd be back on the court by Wednesday, but that will not be the case. The Nuggets have a back-to-back set coming up Friday vs. Houston and Saturday vs. Phoenix, so there's a chance he makes his regular-season debut this weekend. The return of Chandler will threaten the fantasy value of Will Barton and Gary Harris.

Wilson Chandler (hip) is still a week away from returning, according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post.

Chandler is targeting a November 11 return, but Dempsey's timetable would put him just outside that date. Fantasy owners should hang onto Chandler as his injury isn't thought to be serious, but Will Barton and Gary Harris will continue to see an increase in minutes while he's out.

Wilson Chandler (hip) will remain sidelined for Sunday's game vs. the Thunder, and head coach Mike Malone said he'll remain sidelined for the next 7-10 days.

With Chandler unavailable, it'll be Danilo Gallinari starting out the game guarding Kevin Durant, so the Durantuala could be in for a big game. Chandler's injury isn't believed to be serious, but while he's sidelined there will be some more minutes for guys like Will Barton and Gary Harris.

Wilson Chandler said his hip injury isn't serious but that he still could miss anywhere from 1-2 weeks.

The Nuggets will probably err on the side of caution this early in the season and it doesn't make sense to rush him back before he is 100 percent. Chandler obviously won't play on Wednesday, meaning Will Barton, Garry Harris and Danilo Gallinari will have some extra looks on offense vs. the Rockets.

Wilson Chandler (right hip strain) will miss Wednesday's season opener against the Rockets.

While Chandler's injury isn't thought to be serious, we should see more of Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic, J.J. Hickson, and Will Barton on Wednesday with this news, with Barton getting the biggest boost. We'll keep Chandler's status updated, but fantasy owners should hang onto Chandler unless the news on his hip strain gets worse.

Wilson Chandler, Randy Foye, Emmanuel Mudiay and Jameer Nelson will not play on Thursday.

It's scheduled rest, so we get to see a lot of Nikola Jokic and Nick Johnson tonight. Chandler will be a stretch four a ton in the new offense, but still has a lot of appeal in the late rounds.

Wilson Chandler grabbed 19 rebounds in Friday's preseason win over the Suns, and also added 10 points on 2-of-9 shooting (2-of-6 3PTs, 4-of-6 FTs) with one steal and two blocks in 35 minutes.

Chandler did this against pretty good competition but for the millionth time folks shouldn't be reading too much into a lot of what they see in the preseason. He's worth a late-round selection, with mid-round upside and plenty of injury risk.

Wilson Chandler came off the bench in Tuesday's preseason game and hit just 1-of-5 shots for five points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 22 minutes.

He still put up stats, but his fantasy outlook will take a hit if he's going to come off the bench instead of being in the starting lineup for the Nuggets. Keep an eye on his progress as the preseason rolls on and keep in mind Chandler has come off the bench behind Gary Harris in both preseason games thus far. Harris had 12 points and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes on Tuesday.

Nuggets head coach Mike Malone said on Thursday that he has not officially decided on a starting five for Denver's first preseason game on Friday.

While it's pretty clear who will start at point guard, small forward, power forward and center for the Nuggets this upcoming season, it would seem that the starting shooting guard position is still up for grabs. Wilson Chandler, Gary Harris and Randy Foye will all have the opportunity to compete for the starting two-spot in Denver, and we'll be watching that position battle closely as we approach the regular-season. We currently have Chandler penciled in to start, and as a do-it-all kind of guy, he should make for a quality late-round target regardless of how he enters the game.

Wilson Chandler said that being a starter is not important to him.

"I haven't even thought about [if I'll be a starter]," said Chandler. "I’ve started, I've come off the bench - to me it's no big deal." Chandler is a versatile player, so he could get his minutes at the shooting guard, small forward and power forward position for the Nuggets. Whether he's starting or not, Chandler should see a decent amount of minutes for the Nuggets after signing a four-year, $46 million extension this summer, and he'll make for a solid late-round target on draft day after averaging 13.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.8 three-pointers per game last season.

Wilson Chandler will see minutes at both small forward and power forward this season.

With the Nuggets having a versatile roster, Chandler could even spend time at shooting guard if Denver aligns the right personnel alongside him. After signing a four-year extension to remain with the club this offseason, look for Chandler to be a leader on and off the floor for a young Denver team.
