Wilson Chandler (sore back) said he is confident he'll be back in the lineup for Wednesday's game vs. the Rockets.
Chandler sat out Monday's victory over Sacramento. Will Barton started for Denver and hit 9-of-15 shots and five 3-pointers for 25 points, six rebounds and five assists. Chandler got off to a very slow start this season, averaging just 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds over the Nuggets first twelve games. However, before sitting out on Monday, he had scored in double-figures in four straight and was averaging 14.8 points and 6.0 rebounds over that four-game stretch. Nov 21 - 9:26 AM

Date:

Wilson Chandler (sore back) will not play on Monday vs. the Kings.

There's no word on who will replace Chandler in the starting lineup, but Juancho Hernangomez and Will Barton would make the most sense. Chandler is considered day-to-day and shouldn't be dropped outside of shallow leagues.
Nov 20 - 9:06 PM

Wilson Chandler (sore back) is questionable to play Monday against the Kings.

Chandler has been logging a lot of minutes as of late, and it looks like his back flared up on him, so he could be a true game-time call tonight. If he's out, Will Barton could move into the starting five and there would be more minutes available for Juan Hernangomez in the second unit. Stay tuned.
Nov 20 - 2:17 PM

Wilson Chandler scored 15 points with 11 rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes against the Pelicans on Friday.

He is finally starting to get some shots and a lot of it has to do with the Nuggets offense starting to click. In the last three, Chandler averaged 14.0 points, 6.7 boards, 4.0 assists and 1.0 treys. The Nuggets should be a fantasy factory and they're going small slightly more, so Chandler is finally trending up as a very solid pickup in standard leagues.
Nov 18 - 1:31 AM

Wilson Chandler hit 5-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a steal on Monday and also hit all three of his free throws in a loss to the Blazers.

Chandler has come on over his last two games, averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists as part of the starting unit for Denver. He's only scored in double digits four times, but looked much better over his last two, knocking down 10-of-19 shots. If he's on your waiver wire it might be a good idea to pick him up.
Nov 14 - 1:13 AM

Wilson Chandler scored seven points with one assist and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

He was not very good on either end and his usage rate continues to be way down there. Although, Chandler was doing some damage in the non-scoring stats, but he still hasn't been worth owning in standard leagues to this point.
Nov 5 - 12:00 AM

Wilson Chandler made 7-of-11 shots to finish Sunday's road victory with 18 points, four rebounds, two steals, one assist, one block and a pair of 3-pointers.

Juan Hernangomez is out 4-6 weeks, and Richard Jefferson made his Nuggets debut in garbage time tonight, so they really needed Chandler to snap out of his funk. He was averaging a paltry 6.0 points on 33.3 percent shooting, so he's unowned in plenty of leagues. With top-100 potential and a starting job in hand, you could do worse with an end-of-bench roster spot.
Oct 29 - 9:26 PM

Wilson Chandler made 1-of-3 from the field for two points with one rebound, one assist and one turnover in 23 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

This is pretty bad. Unlike Jamal Murray who is getting opportunities to score the ball, Chandler only has a 12.9 usage rate this season to go with a guard-like 8.0 rebounding rate. Maybe his adjustment to the three has hurt him this year, but don't forget Chandler has always needed volume to be successful in fantasy. He's not getting it, so he is a drop candidate in standard leagues.
Oct 27 - 11:28 PM

Wilson Chandler hit just 2-of-4 shots for seven points, two rebounds and four assists in Monday's loss to the Wizards.

His backup, Juan Hernangomez, was out with an illness, making Chandler's disappearance even more concerning. Chandler has now hit just 8-of-23 shots on the season (35%) and is averaging 7.0 points in 32 minutes. We could blame it on the breakout of Nikola Jokic, but Chandler wasn't doing anything when Jokic was struggling. We're still going to call this a simple slump for Chandler and if his owners panic and drop him, think about grabbing him for when he starts playing his game. This is not it.
Oct 24 - 12:13 AM

Wilson Chandler made 2-of-8 from the field for five points with 12 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Kings on Saturday.

He's gone through countless shooting slumps and made just 4-of-11 in the opener, but Chandler is getting minutes and he has his much-desired consistent role as a small forward. He should still be worth owning in standard leagues while he's healthy.
Oct 22 - 1:23 AM

Wilson Chandler (hip) was back in action on Sunday, scoring two points on 1-of-5 shooting in 26 minutes of action.

Chandler added three boards and two assists, and the poor offensive showing isn't a big deal -- he's a solid late-round fantasy option as long as he's healthy. The fact that he suited up for this exhibition confirms that his recent hip ailment wasn't serious.
Oct 8 - 7:35 PM

Wilson Chandler (hip) will play in Sunday's preseason game against the Spurs.

Chandler missed Wednesday's preseason game due to a flare-up with his surgically repaired right hip, but the fact that he'll be taking the court at all for an exhibition game suggests this will be a non-issue moving forward. Chandler doesn't offer the highest upside, but his ability to bring a little bit of everything to the stat sheet without hurting you in any one area makes him a worthwhile potential late-round target.
Oct 8 - 3:32 PM

Wilson Chandler (hip) is probable for Sunday against the Spurs.

The Nuggets go-to move on the injury report is to list guys as probable after a game off, so that probably doesn't change this season -- DFS players can raise their fists at the sky right now. Chandler's hip has been a problem before and being sore already in October is noteworthy, but he should be ready to roll in the season. Juancho Hernangomez is a sneaky stash in deeper leagues.
Oct 7 - 4:48 PM

Wilson Chandler (sore right hip), Paul Millsap (rest), Nikola Jokic (right elbow sprain) and Gary Harris (right shoulder strain) will not play in Wednesday's preseason game against the Lakers.

Chandler was forced to miss the entire 2015-16 season after undergoing right hip surgery, so the Nuggets are wise to play it safe with him with even the smallest flare-ups during the preseason. This is the first we're hearing about any injuries for Harris and Jokic, but for now, we'll assume their absence from Wednesday's meaningless game is more precautionary than anything else. Chandler should be ready once the regular season begins, and he's worth a late-round pick.
Oct 4 - 1:28 PM

Wilson Chandler (sore right hip) is questionable to play in Wednesday's preseason matchup with the Lakers.

This is the same hip that Chandler required surgery on back in 2015, so you can bet that the Nuggets will be taking an ultra-cautious approach with him during the preseason and there's a good chance he'll be watching Wednesday's game from the sidelines. Chandler is in a good situation to produce this year as Denver's starting three-man, but he does have a history of struggling to stay on the court, making him too risky to look to until the later rounds on draft day.
