Aaron Brooks hit just 3-of-13 shots for eight points, three rebounds, five assists, a steal and zero 3-pointers in Saturday's win over the Jazz.

Brooks has really cooled off recently, scoring no more than 13 points in four of his last five games. And the fact the Nuggets keep suggesting that Ty Lawson could return to finish out the season doesn't work in his favor. But any time that Lawson is out, Brooks is still a solid fantasy option.
Apr 13 - 12:39 AM

Aaron Brooks struggled with his shot against the Warriors on Thursday during a 100-99 win, shooting 3-of-14 from the field for eight points with two boards, seven assists, one steal and two turnovers.

His 3-point shot is not dropping right now, making just 4-of-20 (20.0 percent) in his last four games. Brooks has still played major minutes and has at least seven dimes in each of his last three games. Ty Lawson (ankle) is likely out for the year and Brooks should handle the point-guard duties the rest of the way.
Apr 11 - 1:46 AM

Aaron Brooks did not shoot the ball well vs. the Rockets on Wednesday during a 123-116 win, making 5-of-15 from the field for 13 points with five boards, seven assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes.

Even with the ugly shooting game, Brooks was still able to turn in a solid line thanks to the dimes, steals, block and trey. He is likely going to be the starter at point guard the rest of the way and he should have terrific value with the Nuggets playing in an up-tempo, small-ball offense these days.
Apr 10 - 12:33 AM

Aaron Brooks started at PG on Sunday with Ty Lawson (ankle) still unavailable, and he dominated the Rockets to finish with 24 points, eight rebounds, 15 assists and three steals in 47 minutes.

He committed seven turnovers which cost his team dearly down the stretch, but that's hard to hold against him. "[Our players have] all struggled against their ex-teams," coach Brian Shaw said light-heartedly before the game. "So we were looking forward to somebody having a good game against one of their ex-teams." Brooks checked that box and continues to provide a massive, unexpected boost for his lucky fantasy owners down the stretch.
Apr 6 - 10:09 PM

Aaron Brooks started in place of Ty Lawson on Friday, playing 40 minutes for 11 points, four boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.

Lawson was late to a meeting Friday morning and it didn't affect the rotation much, but he did suffer an ankle sprain in this game. Brooks was already doing plenty of damage on the stat sheet even before Lawson went down, so he's shaping up to be a must-own player in standard formats.
Apr 4 - 10:23 PM

Aaron Brooks will start in place of Ty Lawson on Friday night vs. the Grizzlies.

Lawson missed the start of a team meeting and will come off the bench. Coach Brian Shaw's rotation has been a mess to begin with, but Brooks has been a big part of it with Shaw using plenty of Lawson-Brooks combinations. He's put up terrific numbers lately and is a strong start in standard formats.
Apr 4 - 6:09 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 24 points vs. the Pelicans on Wednesday with three boards, one assist, two steals, two blocks and six 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Coach Brian Shaw is in love with his small-ball lineup tonight and it worked to perfection in an up-tempo style. Brooks has played at least 28 minutes in each of the last five games, averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.6 triples in that span. It goes without saying, those are must-own numbers in standard-style formats. He's playing a lot like D.J. Augustin right now and is available in a lot of leagues.
Apr 3 - 1:22 AM

Aaron Brooks scored 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting with two threes, six assists and a steal in 29 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Brooks is rolling along as a low-end play in 12-team leagues and that's probably a good projection for the rest of the season.
Apr 1 - 2:20 AM

Aaron Brooks played 30 minutes against the Spurs on Friday with eight points, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

The Nuggets have really let loose some small lineups and coach Brian Shaw has run a lot of units with Brooks and Lawson together. Brooks has been above 28 minutes in three consecutive games and he could be above that total the rest of the way. He's worth a look in standard leagues.
Mar 29 - 4:50 AM

Aaron Brooks logged 31 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday with 25 points, five boards, eight assists and four 3-pointers.

He didn't turn the ball over and shot 9-of-18 from the field while knocking down all three free throws. The Nuggets have clearly shifted to a small-ball plan and Brooks has logged a whopping 30.4 minutes per game in his last five. He takes treys and the dimes are there, so he's worth a look for owners looking for a little help in those areas.
Mar 27 - 1:27 AM

Aaron Brooks backed up his big game from Wednesday with just six points and two assists in 21 minutes on Friday.

No surprise, here. He'll only be worth a look if the cavalry ahead of him starts to drop like flies.
Mar 22 - 1:41 AM

Aaron Brooks was a last-minute replacement for Ty Lawson (illness) and blew up for a season-high 27 points, six rebounds, a career-high 17 assists and a 3-pointer on 10-of-19 shooting in 47 minutes.

The news that Lawson was out came way too late to get Brooks into lineups, so one of the best games of his career was wasted in most fantasy leagues. Lawson should be back sooner than later, meaning Brooks should return to bench before he would help your team. He's been doing well in the assists department off the bench (5 or 7 in each of his previous four games), but has struggled to score off the bench with nine or fewer points over that stretch. His previous high in assists was 13 in 2009.
Mar 20 - 1:36 AM

Aaron Brooks will start against the Pistons on Wednesday.

Ty Lawson (illness) is a late scratch for this game and the Nuggets will look to get something out of Brooks tonight. He's been used quite a bit off the bench and should have plenty of chances to score with the first string. He's a decent spot-start tonight.
Mar 19 - 9:08 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 16 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 5-of-11 shots (including a three) with four rebounds and five perfect shots from the foul line in 24 minutes.

The only thing going for Brooks is his scoring and 3-point makes, but even those aren't enough to bring his value into the standard league discussion. He committed a critical foul late that was the nail in the coffin for the Nuggets tonight.
