Aaron Brooks (hamstring) will not travel to the team to Indianapolis, according to Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg.

This rules Brooks out for Friday's game against the Pacers, but could put him in play for his targeted November 30 return against the Spurs. With Derrick Rose healthy, Brooks shouldn't be owned in standard fantasy leagues even when he returns to health.

Updating a previous report, Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said that Aaron Brooks will remain sidelined for at least the next "couple games."

That means the earliest Brooks could return would be November 30 vs. San Antonio. Kirk Hinrich will start for however long Brooks and Derrick Rose (ankle) are sidelined, with E'Twaun Moore seeing some increased opportunity for playing time off the bench. Neither Hinrich nor Moore are worth picking up in most formats with Rose seemingly close to making his return.

Aaron Brooks (hamstring) is hopeful he'll be able to play Tuesday vs. the Trail Blazers.

Brooks was spotted walking around without a limp on Friday, and he was also able to get in some work in the weight room, all positive signs regarding a potential Tuesday return. However, Derrick Rose (ankle) is also getting close to making his way back to the court, so there's not much reason to pick up Brooks in most leagues.
Nov 20 - 8:25 PM

Aaron Brooks (left hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Warriors.

This was the expected move, and with Derrick Rose (ankle) on the doubtful side of his questionable tag, it looks like Kirk Hinrich could log heavy minutes as Chicago's starting point guard on Friday. Jimmy Butler will be busy on offense if Rose is unavailable, and he'd make for a strong play in DFS.

Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said that Aaron Brooks (hamstring) will "most likely" be out for Friday's game against the Warriors.

It doesn't sound like he's going to play, and with Derrick Rose (ankle) also unlikely for Friday, Kirk Hinrich could be forced into heavy minutes for Chicago. However, Jimmy Butler will be the true beneficiary for however long Rose and Brooks are sidelined.
Nov 19 - 2:58 PM

Aaron Brooks (left hamstring) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Warriors.

Brooks left Wednesday's game against the Suns in the third quarter and didn't sound hopeful for Friday after the game. "Thought I could play through it," Brooks said. "Reaggravated it, but it’s not too bad; it’s a strain. Wake up [Thursday], see how it is, how it feels. I’m not used to this. I’ll pray on it and hopefully I’ll wake up and everything is OK. Just being cold, coming off the bench, strained it, being old." We'll keep an eye on Brooks, but with Derrick Rose (ankle) dealing with an injury, Kirk Hinrich could see big minutes on Friday.
Nov 19 - 9:25 AM

Aaron Brooks strained his left hamstring during Wednesday's game and he will not return.

He tweaked his hamstring in the third quarter and re-injured it in the fourth quarter, heading into the locker room with a very pronounced limp. With Derrick Rose (ankle) already on the sidelines, E'Twaun Moore and Kirk Hinrich will have to man the PG position in the short-term -- hamstring injuries are touchy and it wouldn't be surprising to see Brooks miss at least a few games.
Nov 19 - 12:44 AM

Aaron Brooks was a DNP-CD on Monday against the Pacers.

He could be getting minutes now with Derrick Rose (ankle) getting hurt tonight. Brooks is only a speculative add in deep leagues.
Nov 16 - 11:02 PM

Aaron Brooks erupted off the bench for 22 points on Tuesday vs. the Pacers, adding six assists, five boards and four 3-pointers in less than 25 minutes of action.

Derrick Rose (eye) is questionable to start the season, and while Kirk Hinrich will likely continue to start in his absence, Brooks is clearly the guy you will want to target every time Rose is out. Owners in deeper leagues can already think about picking up Brooks because Rose didn't look too great prior to the game and seems really irritated with the mask that he has to wear.
Oct 20 - 11:06 PM

Aaron Brooks has agreed to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls.

Brooks' deal will be of the one-year variety and will pay the veteran just over $2 million for the 2015-16 season. The 30-year-old will serve a solid backup (and insurance policy) behind Derrick Rose, but he's better off left untouched in standard fantasy leagues.
Jul 9 - 1:16 PM

Aaron Brooks has reportedly agreed to sign a one-year deal to return with the Bulls next season.

Brooks will make for a quality pickup if Derrick Rose goes down at any point during the 2015-16 season, but with Rose healthy, Brooks won't be worth owning in most leagues.
Jul 7 - 2:15 PM

Aaron Brooks played just nine minutes in Monday's Game 1 win over the Cavs.

Derrick Rose got dinged with a seemingly minor shoulder injury and Jimmy Butler played through an ankle tweak tonight, but barring a major change of events owners need to look at Brooks skeptically in terms of playing time. Tom Thibodeau has shortened his rotation and he's on the outside looking in.
May 4 - 9:41 PM

Aaron Brooks came off the bench to score 23 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, four steals and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Derrick Rose left with knee soreness (that the Bulls say isn't a big deal) and Taj Gibson left with a shoulder injury, but both players are supposedly going to be good to go for the playoffs, which start on Saturday against the Bucks. The Bulls were down 60-42 in the third quarter when Brooks took over and they came back to win their fourth straight game, clinching the No. 3 seed along the way. Pau Gasol was nice with 18 points and 13 boards, and Jimmy Butler added 21 points in the win. Joakim Noah sat out with a hamstring injury, but is expected to be ready for the playoffs on Saturday.
Apr 16 - 1:06 AM

Aaron Brooks came off the bench to hit 5-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes to finish with 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals as Derrick Rose returned to the starting lineup for the Bulls.

There's a chance that Rose could start again on Thursday, and the more he plays the better the chances are that Brooks will struggle. He was decent tonight, but if Rose is prepared to start the rest of the way for the Bulls, Brooks will be a risky play.
