Aaron Brooks finally got going vs. the Wizards on Tuesday, scoring 22 points with a pair of 3-pointers, two rebounds, eight assists and one steal.
Tony Snell joined the starting lineup tonight in Chicago's 20th different starting five of the season, their most since the 2007-08 season, but the resilient Bulls still pulled out a victory without Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler or Taj Gibson. Brooks was inefficient tonight, shooting 8-of-23 from the field, but he's a worthwhile gamble if you're in need of PG production. Mar 3 - 11:19 PM

Aaron Brookes scored 14 points on 5-of-17 shooting during Sunday's loss to the Clippers, adding two 3-pointers, one rebound, three assists and two turnovers through 31 minutes of action.

Brooks hasn't done much since entering the starting lineup, averaging just 10.0 points, 3.7 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per game. The minutes are there, but the production hasn't come around yet. He's still worth holding onto in standard leagues given the Bulls' dire need for offense, especially with Jimmy Butler (elbow) going down on Sunday.
Mar 1 - 6:01 PM

Aaron Brooks hit just 2-of-15 shots (2-of-8 from deep) for six points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal over 31 minutes on Friday against the Wolves.

If any impatient owner drops him after a less-than-spectacular start be ready to pick him up. Yes, the Bulls could bring in another point guard but it's doubtful they'll crack the rotation or impact Brooks' minutes. The diminutive guard has a late-round floor with some mid-round upside probably for the rest of the season.
Feb 28 - 2:26 AM

Aaron Brooks played 28 minutes against the Hornets on Wednesday during a start, scoring 12 points with four rebounds, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer.

He made 4-of-12 from the field, was 3-of-8 from the line, and didn't turn the ball over. If Brooks is indeed going to play 28 minutes per game, he should absolutely be worth owning in standard leagues based on his per-minute production, averaging 10.6 points, 2.7 dimes, 0.6 steals and 1.5 treys in just 19.9 minutes per game this season. If you need a point guard, he is a very attractive option.
Feb 26 - 12:29 AM

Aaron Brooks will start at PG against the Hornets on Wednesday.

Derrick Rose (knee) is out indefinitely, leaving Brooks with a clear path to sustained fantasy value down the stretch. Kirk Hinrich has been banged up and ineffective for months, and Tom Thibodeau isn't shy about giving his starters heavy minutes. Brooks still has explosive offensive potential and he should be owned in all leagues while we see how the Bulls' rotation shakes out in Rose's absence.
Feb 25 - 6:18 PM

Aaron Brooks scored just four points on Monday, hitting 2-of-9 shots from the field with one rebound and two assists in 19 minutes.

Brooks had a nice month of January but it has been downhill ever since and he can be left on waivers in most standard formats.
Feb 23 - 11:30 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 21 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 8-of-13 shots (including three treys) with two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes.

Brooks has flown under the radar and now has a month of top-100 value under his belt. During that 17-game span he has averaged 12.5 points, 2.1 threes, 2.2 boards, 2.2 assists with 1.0 combined steals and blocks. He's shooting a bit high at 44.7 percent in that span, but that's his field goal percentage for the year (41.7 percent career). His role seems tenuous and things could change, but those numbers are worthy of a pickup.
Jan 31 - 2:45 AM

Aaron Brooks was ejected in double-overtime against the Lakers on Thursday, finishing with 15 points, one rebound, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 22 minutes.

Coach Tom Thibodeau hasn't been bashful about using two-PG lineups and Brooks has played well next to Derrick Rose. Brooks' fantasy value will take a hit once Mike Dunleavy (ankle) comes back, so he's not really a great pickup right now. Although, that could change if Derrick Rose's minor injury becomes something.
Jan 30 - 1:34 AM

Aaron Brooks was a lone bright spot off the Bulls bench on Sunday, scoring 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting, to go with two rebounds, four 3-pointers, one steal, and two turnovers.

This is pretty much what you get with Brooks, some scoring, some 3-pointers, and not much else. His value will likely take a hit when Mike Dunleavy eventually returns to the lineup, but until that happens, he'll be able to post some low-end value in deeper leagues.
Jan 25 - 7:03 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 13 points with three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes on Saturday.

His minutes are likely going to take a minor dip with Mike Dunleavy getting closer to a return. Brooks will have a tough time putting up consistent value in standard leagues while Derrick Rose is healthy.
Jan 17 - 11:21 PM

Aaron Brooks scored just two points on Monday, hitting 1-of-3 shots with four assists and one steal in 15 minutes.

When the Bulls are close to full strength, it's going to be hard to rely on Brooks for consistent fantasy value.
Jan 6 - 12:35 AM

Aaron Brooks scored 19 points against the Celtics on Saturday with four rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers.

He had a whopping 15 shots in 20 minutes and continues to carry the bench. Brooks could flirt with scoring in the low teens while Mike Dunleavy (ankle) is out, but his upside isn't quite as strong as Nikola Mirotic's.
Jan 4 - 12:17 AM

Aaron Brooks played 23 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday with 12 points, four rebounds, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers.

His minutes didn't really take a hit even with Kirk Hinrich back because the Bulls shifted Jimmy Butler more to the three today. Brooks is still not going to be a consistent guy to trust in standard leagues.
Jan 1 - 10:48 PM

Aaron Brooks was ejected from Tuesday's game after receiving two technical fouls for arguing with the officials, finishing with four points on 1-of-2 shooting in seven minutes.

Brooks was clearly heated at the officials and even approached one of them after his first technical. The Bulls were already missing Kirk Hinrich (hamstring) for this contest, so now it will be up to E'Twaun Moore to lead the second unit.

Aaron Brooks scored just two points with one rebound, two assists, one steal and four turnovers against the Pacers on Monday.

Ouch. Kirk Hinrich (hamstring) is very close to a return and this dud from Brooks suggests Hinrich will be active for Tuesday against Brooklyn. If you own Brooks, you might want to start planning on looking for someone else.
