Aaron Brooks scored four points with three assists in 16 minutes against the Lakers on Saturday.
He looks to be ahead of Tyus Jones for the backup point guard role, but coach Tom Thibodeau said before the game that tonight won't be too important for this position battle. Brooks is unlikely to have fantasy value. Oct 1 - 12:53 AM

The Timberwolves have signed G Aaron Brooks.

The Wolves will be Brooks' seventh NBA team. Last season he appeared in 65 games and averaged 5.0 points and 1.9 assists in 13.8 minutes per contest for the Pacers. Brooks is not on the fantasy radar.
Sep 22 - 9:22 AM

The Wolves are expected to add Aaron Brooks for training camp.

He has a Tom Thibodeau connection for one season and remains unsigned. Brooks is 32 years old and played 13.8 minutes per game during his 65 outings with the Pacers last season.
Sep 21 - 3:28 PM

The Timberwolves are reportedly looking to add a point guard and wing to round out their roster.

Three players on the Wolves radar are Aaron Brooks, Anthony Morrow, and Alan Anderson, according to the Basketball Insiders report. Minnesota has already added three former Bulls this offseason, so the interest in Brooks and Morrow should not be surprising. The Wolves currently have Jeff Teague and Tyus Jones as their top two point guards. Brooks could add depth there and is capable of playing off the ball in short spurts as well.
Jul 15 - 9:49 AM

Aaron Brooks left Monday's game vs. the 76ers with a sore right knee and didn't return.

He finished with three points, two assists and one triple in 12 minutes. Brooks usually only plays minutes in the teens, but if he misses time, the Pacers will either give his minutes to Lance Stephenson or maybe even Joe Young.
Apr 10 - 9:42 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 10 points with two rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes against the Bucks on Thursday.

His fourth-quarter minutes were huge to help the Pacers pull away. Brooks actually took two charges against Khris Middleton in 32 seconds, which basically took the sails out of the sails for Milwaukee. Brooks still has no fantasy value.
Apr 6 - 9:47 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 18 points in 28 minutes on Wednesday, making 6-of-15 FGs with a 4-of-5 mark from downtown in a tough loss to the Grizzlies.

Indiana is tied with Miami for the No. 8 seed and they're just 1.5 games up on the No. 9 seed Bulls, with road games looming vs. the Raptors and Cavaliers this weekend. Head coach Nate McMillan will roll with whichever lineups are working, in other words, and tonight that meant more Brooks over an ineffective Jeff Teague (20 minutes). That's extremely unlikely to become a trend.
Mar 30 - 12:33 AM

Aaron Brooks was held scoreless in 13 minutes with three rebounds in Thursday's win over the Timberwolves.

He returned to action after missing a game with knee soreness. Brooks has scored 10 or more points just six times this season and has been held to zero points in six games. He'll only be worth a look if Jeff Teague, who hasn't missed a game this season, were to go down with an injury.
Jan 26 - 11:41 PM

Aaron Brooks (sore right knee) is probable for Thursday's game vs. the Wolves.

Brooks missed Monday's game vs. the Knicks and Joe Young played six minutes in his absence as the backup PG, so Young will likely fall out of the rotation again. Brooks is only averaging 14.8 minutes per game in January, so he has no fantasy value while Jeff Teague is healthy.
Jan 26 - 9:40 AM

Aaron Brooks (sore right knee) will not suit up for Monday's game against the Knicks.

This is the first we're hearing of a knee issue for Brooks, but considering it's just soreness, he should be able to get back to the court for Thursday's game in Minnesota. With Brooks on the sidelines, Monta Ellis will likely pick up most of his minutes and Joe Young could get into the rotation.
Jan 23 - 6:49 PM

Pacers' head coach Nate McMillan said that Aaron Brooks will draw the start at point guard if Jeff Teague (ankle) can't play Tuesday vs. the Pistons.

Teague is headed for a game-time call, but it's worth noting that McMillan said he's hopeful that Teague can get out there. However, if he is forced to the sidelines, Brooks could be worth a dart throw in DFS with a favorable matchup against Detroit. Paul George would also see a spike to his usage rate sans Teague, and Monta Ellis would have the opportunity for some more minutes. Stay tuned.
Jan 3 - 6:10 PM

Aaron Brooks scored 14 points in 18 minutes off the bench on Sunday, hitting 6-of-9 shots with two 3-pointers, two boards, two assists and a rare blocked shot.

This was Brooks' fifth double-digit scoring game of the season, and he got more action than usual with Rodney Stuckey (hamstring) sidelined and Monta Ellis (ankle) still getting up to speed. Jeff Teague survived an injury scare tonight, which means Brooks should stay on the waiver wire.
Jan 1 - 9:22 PM

Aaron Brooks got hot on Monday, hitting 6-of-8 shots and three 3-pointers for a season-high 19 points, four rebounds, seven assists and a block in a 90-85 loss to his former team, the Bulls.

Brooks hadn't scored more than six points in any December game and the revenge factor may have been at work here. Rodney Stuckey left early after aggravating his hamstring injury and Monta Ellis is out with a groin injury. Brooks could make some noise the rest of the week, but given that he'd done almost nothing before this game means the odds are not in his favor for the to happen.
Mon, Dec 26, 2016 11:45:00 PM

Aaron Brooks scored a season-high 16 points against the Blazers on Wednesday with three rebounds and three 3-pointers in 21 minutes.

College homecoming narrative? Probably not. The University of Oregon product played 10 minutes in the fourth quarter with this game getting out of hand. He won't have value most nights.
Thu, Dec 1, 2016 12:58:00 AM

Aaron Brooks played 14 minutes against the Bucks on Thursday with eight points, five assists and one steal.

It was his second game of the season and he seems to have the backup point guard job ahead of Joe Young. Brooks doesn't have much fantasy value.
