Aaron Brooks is expected to get a look in the Rockets rotation.
Kevin McHale said the team is "looking at Aaron," and the Rockets will try to figure out the best way to integrate him into the mix. Brooks said practice reps have been split "evenly" between himself, Patrick Beverley and Jeremy Lin, which is pretty interesting. Brooks can be ignored in fantasy leagues right now. Mar 20 - 9:15 AM

Kevin McHale said that Aaron Brooks will see "situational" playing time.

Brooks did not get off the bench on Wednesday. The new point guard might get some run after he has a few practices, but McHale is clearly not going to rush just for the sake of rushing. "We don't run standard NBA sets," McHale said. "We play a lot different."
Mar 7 - 9:28 AM

Aaron Brooks has passed his physical and will practice with the Rockets on Tuesday.

Brooks could be thrown into the action right away in the Rockets next game, but his exact role with the team is unclear at this time.
Mar 5 - 12:50 PM

The Houston Rockets have signed Aaron Brooks.

This story was pretty much covered on Friday when Adrian Wojnarowski had the report and Woj confirmed the signing on Monday evening. Brooks had some good times in Houston and led the NBA in 3-pointers in the '09-'10 season. However, he will just cut into Patrick Beverley's playing time and neither player has much value outside of extremely deep leagues.
Mar 4 - 8:25 PM

Free agent PG Aaron Brooks will likely sign with the Rockets, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Brooks reached a buyout with the Kings earlier Friday. In Houston, he'll likely slide right in as Jeremy Lin's direct backup, ahead of Patrick Beverley and Toney Douglas. Brooks spent the first four seasons of his career with the Rockets.
Mar 1 - 6:32 PM

The Kings and Aaron Brooks have agreed to a buyout.

Brooks had fallen behind both Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette in the rotation, appearing in just four of the last 12 games. He still shouldn't have trouble signing on as a backup elsewhere. The Rockets, Knicks and Jazz have all shown interest lately in acquiring a more explosive No. 2 point guard. Since the buyout was completed before Friday night's deadline, Brooks will be eligible to participate in the playoffs wherever he signs.
Mar 1 - 4:37 PM

Keith Smart said that he's decided to go with Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette as his two point guards, leaving Aaron Brooks out of the rotation.

Brooks has not played in either of the Kings last two games, and the veteran will continue to ride the pine for now. "I couldn't play all three of them," Smart said. "(So I'm going to) try to play two guys and keep it consistent." It's pretty telling that the same guy Smart tabbed to start over IT2 is now third on the depth chart, but we're used to seeing whacky things happen when it comes to Sacramento's rotation.
Feb 5 - 8:49 AM

Aaron Brooks returned from a bout with the flu and had four points and one assist in eight minutes on Wednesday.

Isaiah Thomas is still the starter, but was benched for Jimmer Fredette tonight in the second half. Brooks is now off the radar in fantasy, but could become relevant at some point down the line.
Jan 17 - 1:30 AM

Aaron Brooks could have a hard time finding minutes in the rotation, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Isaiah Thomas has locked onto the starting point guard job again and the Kings continue to force feed minutes to Jimmer Fredette, so Brooks may have to wait his turn. With Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton both healthy again, there are just fewer minutes to be distributed.
Jan 15 - 9:25 AM

Aaron Brooks was expected to play through the flu on Monday but never got into the game.

Once again, Keith Smart fooled everyone by saying "He's back," prior to the game. Isaiah Thomas failed to take advantage of his absence, hitting just 2-of-8 shots for six points and six assists, after going for 34 points on Saturday.
Jan 15 - 5:35 AM

Aaron Brooks (illness) is expected to play against the Cavs on Monday.

"He's back. He had some chicken soup and he's ready," coach Keith Smart said. It should be interesting to see how many minutes Brooks will see tonight with Isaiah Thomas coming off a monster 34-point game on Saturday. Brooks should be left on the wire in the vast majority of leagues.
Jan 14 - 8:48 PM

Aaron Brooks (illness) missed practice on Sunday and he is unlikely to face the Cavs on Monday.

His value is clearly trending down and another game in street clothes could spell trouble for him with most of his minutes going to Isaiah Thomas. Thomas went off on Saturday with 34 points and he should be owned in all leagues while Brooks is waiver wire fodder in almost all formats.
Jan 13 - 5:33 PM

Aaron Brooks (flu) will not play vs. Miami on Sunday.

Isaiah Thomas could see a few extra minutes, but many of Brooks' minutes will go to Marcus Thornton and Jimmer Fredette. He is questionable to return for Monday's home game vs. the Cavaliers.
Jan 12 - 9:04 PM

The Kings' PG position battle resumed on Saturday, as Isaiah Thomas logged 22 minutes as the starter and Aaron Brooks played 26 minutes off the bench.

Thomas scored 12 points with two assists and Brooks had 13 points, two 3s, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Keith Smart is simply determined to keep Brooks on the court, and we see no near-term solution to his machinations.
Jan 5 - 10:51 PM

Aaron Brooks returned from his ankle injury on Tuesday and played 22 minutes, but hit just 2-of-8 shots and 1-of-6 3-pointers for seven points, three boards and three assists.

He played most of the fourth quarter over Isaiah Thomas, drawing the ire of fantasy owners, while struggling all the way home. He'll do more to wreck the fantasy value of Thomas than he will offer much of his own, and should be on waivers in your league as long as he's coming off the bench.
