Dennis Rodman was an emotional wreck during his Hall of Fame induction speech on Friday night, apologizing to his mother and children among other teary topics, in what was an eerie reflection of his amazing career.

It was awkward, and may have been ill-advised, but one has to respect that he appears to have come to grips with things he perceives to have done wrong in his personal life. And after arriving at the ceremony in a helicopter and having a costume change before his speech, he once again stole the headlines in the trainwreck quality only Rodman can deliver.

Dennis Rodman will arrive at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony via helicopter.

We wouldn't expect anything less from one of the game's most unique players of all time. Rodman wanted to enter on a float, but they wouldn't let him block off the street, so he's decided to go aerial in his approach. There will also be acrobats performing and Rodman warned that a couple of his outfits will be "out there". He is also flying in Howard Stern, among others, to attend the ceremony, where he will be inducted by Phil Jackson.

Dennis Rodman has reportedly been elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

A Pistons source confirmed Friday that Rodman will be among those inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. It should become official, as long as this isn't an April Fool's joke. He is also having his number retired tonight at halftime of the Pistons - Bulls game.

The Pistons will retire Dennis Rodman's number on April 1, when the Bulls visit Detroit for a road game.

Rodman won five championships during his NBA career, he was twice named Defensive Player of the Year, and he averaged over 18 rebounds a game while leading the league between 1991-1994. He didn't score much and his wild persona often detracts from an appreciation of his skills, but this honor is more than justified.

Dennis Rodman is reportedly uninjured after the car he was traveling in flipped over on Interstate 95 near Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt either, but still went to the hospital for evaluation. The vehicle apparently flipped after having a tire problem, and the police do not expect any charges to be filed.

Dennis Rodman was arrested on Wednesday for felony domestic abuse. He was drunk, and grabbed his girlfriend's arm hard enough to cause bruising.

Sadly, this isn't surprising. Rodman has attempted various comebacks (see: Celebrity Mole, VH1 reality show, other money-making acts of desperation), and it's getting increasingly difficult to remember him as just a solid basketball player.

Dennis Rodman has recently expressed some interest again in coaching for a team in WNBA.

"I've done everything in the world, literally everything," Rodman said. "Why not coach a women's basketball team? That'd be a different goal." Rodman won five NBA rings and led the league in rebounding from 1991-92 to 1997-98, but doesn't have any experience coaching.

A former beverage manager at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas has sued Dennis Rodman, claiming he assaulted her in March 2006 by rubbing up against her body and slapping her on the butt.

The complaint, which seeks unspecified damages, claims Robinson was fired after she filled out a voluntary statement detailing Rodman's actions in a subsequent incident at the same bar the next month. Is anybody really surprised by this?

Dennis Rodman has expressed some interest in coaching in the WNBA, and specifically wants to work for Atlanta's franchise.

"I love the city of Atlanta," Rodman said. "Atlanta would be the ideal situation, starting from scratch." Ron Terwilliger, the owner of Atlanta's new franchise, is not interested in Rodman though. In fact, he's already spoken to Teresa Edwards, now in her second season as an assistant coach with the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx, for the job.

Dennis Rodman has signed with the ABA Tijuana Dragons to play a limited number of games this season.

"He'll be playing anywhere from six to 10 games this year, starting on Nov. 24," agent Darren Prince said Thursday. "Hopefully, an NBA team can see he can still play. He's in the best shape of his life at 44." Tijuana? Are you serious? This has disaster written all over it.
