Kyrylo Fesenko (illness) is not traveling with the team for their preseason game with the Bucks on Friday.

Fesenko is simply hoping to make the team's final roster, which will be difficult to do with established centers Nikola Pekovic and Gorgui Dieng already in place. His absence is only detrimental to his chances of making an NBA roster.
Oct 16 - 3:17 PM

Kyrylo Fesenko sat out the Wolves' practice on Tuesday due to illness.

Fesenko is just hoping to make the Wolves' roster, and he's not a fantasy option with Nikola Pekovic and Gorgui Dieng ably manning the C spot for coach Flip Saunders.
Oct 14 - 3:06 PM

Kyrylo Fesenko, who signed with the Wolves for the preseason, said that the war in his native Ukraine has given him "more motivation" to earn a guaranteed NBA contract.

One of Fesenko's former neighbors died when a Malaysian Airlines jet was shot down in eastern Ukraine in July. "I think war is the outdated solution to any conflict," he said. "Two of my friends already enlisted in the army and I really don’t want that to happen. I’m all up for fighting the good cause, but I just don’t want to lose any of my childhood friends." Wolves coach Flip Saunders acknowledged the difficulty of Fesenko's situation, adding, "He's a good kid. He works hard ... If he's not with us, he's got a chance to showcase himself for somebody else."
Oct 5 - 3:35 PM

Kyrylo Fesenko will be at Minnesota's training camp after signing a camp contract with the team.

Fesenko is still just 27 years old, but hasn't played in the NBA since the 2011-12 season during which he played three games with Indiana. Fesenko owns career averages of 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds, so his fantasy value is essentially non-existent even if he makes the Timberwolves' roster.
Sep 18 - 12:41 PM

The Timberwolves are hoping that Kyrylo Fesenko will play for their Summer League team.

'Fess' previously played for both the Jazz and Pacers and it sounds likely that he'll have an outside shot at making the Timberwolves next season, especially if he plays well over the summer.
Jul 3 - 12:31 AM

Kyrylo Fesenko will reportedly work out for the Hawks on Tuesday.

Fesenko was waived by the Bulls in training camp, but he wouldn't provide much to Atlanta. If signed, he'll merely be an insurance policy, and not a particularly appealing one at that.

Bulls waived C Kyrylo Fesenko on Thursday.

He has a good chance of being picked up by another team and landing on a roster this season, but could also end up back with the Bulls after Nov. 19, when they'll have enough room under the hard salary cap to sign him.

Kyrylo Fesenko returned to practice on Thursday despite still being sick.

Fesenko went through the session despite being ill, so this isn't a major concern. He'll be lucky not to be wearing a suit to the games in the regular season if he makes the final roster.

Kyrylo Fesenko is sick and will not practice on Tuesday.

Fesenko may not play in Chicago's preseason game, either. Signed to a "make good" camp contract, Fesenko will be lucky to simply make the team.

The Bulls will sign C Kyrylo Fesenko this week after working him out on Monday.

It's a non-guaranteed deal for the 7'1", 280-pound center. Fesenko adds depth to the Chicago front-court bench and would be a backup along with Nazr Mohammed. The Ukrainian played in just three games last year and has no fantasy value.

Unrestricted FA Kyrylo Fesenko will work out for the Bulls on Monday.

Fesenko is the definition of a big body who would provide depth, but he offers very little on the court other than being a large human being. He's not on the fantasy radar.

Kyrylo Fesenko is scheduled to work out for the Spurs, a source tells Sports Illustrated.

Additionally, Fesenko "may work out in Cleveland soon thereafter." He was signed by the Pacers in March of last season and didn't contribute a lick while with the team. He played in three games, never eclipsed seven minutes and didn't log a single second in the playoffs. He's nothing more than a big body at the end of the bench.

Kyrylo Fesenko is unlikely to play against the Magic in the first round.

Without Dwight Howard (back) in the lineup for Orlando, Frank Vogel has been using Lou Amundson as Roy Hibbert's primary backup. "Right now he's depth and insurance," Frank Vogel said.

Frank Vogel hopes to get Kyrylo Fesenko some minutes before the playoffs.

"It is important to us to get him up to speed with all our plays and defensive schemes and continue to have him work on getting into game shape," Vogel said. The fact that he's not yet in game shape tells you all you need to know about Fesenko's chances of contributing this year.
