Free agent Herbert Hill was arrested early on Thursday for DUI -- his blood-alcohol content was 0.16, twice the legal limit.
Hill became an unrestricted FA after the 76ers declined to offer him a qualifying offer this summer. His entire 2007 season was lost to consecutive knee surgeries, and this incident can only increase teams' reluctance to sign him. Sat, Jul 12, 2008 09:55:00 AM

Sixers' rookie forward Herbert Hill underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday afternoon, the club announced Wednesday.

It was the second procedure on Hill's left knee this season. The rookie also had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee in October and has yet to play in an NBA game.

76ers rookie Herbert Hill had an MRI taken on his left knee on Wednesday, which showed some wear and tear and swelling. The team has decided to shut him down for 5-to-7 days and then take another MRI.

Hill had surgery on October 30th to repair torn cartilage. He has been practicing regularly the last few weeks, but hasn't played in a game and offers no fantasy value.

76ers rookie Herbert Hill, rehabbing from knee surgery, could participate in a full practice as soon as this week.

"We haven't had a whole lot of time to go up and down the court, to see where he is in those areas," said coach Mo Cheeks. "You can tell a little more when you're going up and down and banging a little bit." It sounds like Hill will return soon, but he won't have any fantasy value.

76ers rookie Herbert Hill, who had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee, said his rehabilitation is going well. His timetable for returning is four to six weeks after the surgery.

"Every couple of days, I do more stuff, riding a bike and running on a treadmill," the rookie said. "I'm not sure when I will be back, but the key for me is watching these guys and to learn as much as I can." It's nice that he is doing well, but he won't do anything fantasy-wise this season.

Philadelphia 76ers rookie forward Herbert Hill has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee and will require surgery, the club announced Saturday.

Hill will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, where Dr. James Andrews is expected to perform the procedure on Tuesday. Consider him out indefinitely and this news gives Jason Smith and Calvin Booth some potential, especially if Samuel Dalembert continues to struggle in his recovery from a stress fracture in his foot.

The Sixers signed rookies Herbert Hill and Derrick Byars on Tuesday.

Hill is suddenly an important piece of the Sixers' puzzle after they traded backup center Steven Hunter to the Nuggets on Monday. Starter Samuel Dalembert's foot is in a cast and it's possible Hill could play many more minutes this season than the team imagined. Byars will back up the shooting guard and small forward position, but neither player is expected to offer fantasy value this season.

Jazz second-round pick Herbert Hill has reportedly been dealt to the Sixers for forward Kyrylo Fesenko.

Details on the deal are sketchy, but the Desert News is reporting the trade. Neither player will have fantasy value next season.

The Jazz drafted forward Herbert Hill out of Providence College with the 55th pick on Thursday.

Providence products have had nice success in the NBA (Austin Croshere, Ryan Gomes) and Hill can play as he was the Big East Conference scoring champion in his senior season. We don't know where he fits in with the Jazz, but if Andrei Kirilenko is moved, don't be surprised to see Hill take over Paul Millsap's current role next season, as Millsap becomes a possible starter.
