C.J. Watson has agreed to a three-year, $15 million deal with the Orlando Magic.
The Magic got rid of Luke Ridnour and Ben Gordon this summer, so they finally were able to add some additional depth to their backcourt on Saturday. Watson is a solid combo guard who averaged 10.0 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.2 3-pointers for the Pacers last season, and he could be one of the first players off the bench for the Magic next season. In terms of fantasy, Watson is only on the radar in deeper leagues. Jul 4 - 9:56 AM

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Orlando Magic are close to signing C.J. Watson to bolster their backcourt.

The Magic just re-signed Tobias Harris on Friday, but their backcourt is still relatively weak behind Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo. Watson would be a solid addition to the Magic bench, but he wouldn't have a large enough role to warrant attention in fantasy leagues.

The Wizards have shown interest in signing C.J. Watson, according to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post.

Watson can provide the Wizards with a quality backup behind John Wall, but he doesn't provide a ton of fantasy value after averaging 10.0 points, 3.6 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.2 three-pointers in 57 games with the Pacers last season. We'll keep Watson's status updated as more information becomes available, but his destination won't affect fantasy owners in standard leagues.
Jul 2 - 11:52 AM

Larry Bird said he doesn't think he'll be bringing back C.J. Watson next season.

Injuries limited Watson to just 57 games, and while he's a capable backup point, he's not ever going to be the difference maker on a championship team. He finished the 2014-15 season with averages of 10.0 points, 3.6 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.2 three-pointers per game. He shouldn't have a problem signing on with another team, but as nothing more than a backup point guard, he's not going to have any value in standard leagues.
Apr 17 - 1:49 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) will not play against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

He's had elbow trouble for a long time and it will likely affect him in the playoffs, assuming the Pacers make it. With Watson out, Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles are stepping up next to Paul George.
Apr 15 - 2:54 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Wizards.

Watson will miss his fifth consecutive game on Tuesday's with a sore right elbow, but it's currently unclear if he'd be able to go if the Pacers make the playoffs. Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles will see big minutes with Watson out Tuesday and both make for solid plays in daily leagues.
Apr 14 - 1:17 PM

C.J. Watson's elbow is not showing any signs of improvement, and he's unlikely to play this week as a result.

It's not yet clear if Watson would be able to go if the Pacers make the playoffs, but he's been out of the picture since April 3. Without him, the Pacers will lean a little harder on Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles.
Apr 13 - 1:55 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Thunder.

Rodney Stuckey, C.J. Miles, and Donald Sloan will help fill the void in Watson's absence. Miles has been the more consistent player over the past month, and he's worth a look in daily leagues.
Apr 12 - 4:22 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) is doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Thunder.

Watson's elbow is in pretty bad shape and it's possible that he may not return in the regular season. Don't count on Watson taking the court tonight, and expect Rodney Stuckey, C.J. Miles and Donald Sloan to all be in the mix for more minutes.
Apr 12 - 12:23 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) will likely miss the final three games of the regular season.

His sore right elbow has kept him out since Sunday and it is probably going to be an issue for him for the foreseeable future in his career. Watson tore a ligament in his right elbow back in 2008, he needed surgery, and it hasn't been the same since. Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles benefit.
Apr 11 - 4:00 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) will not suit up for Friday's game against the Pistons.

Friday will mark Watson's third consecutive game on the sidelines, and with him out Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles will be given a bit more responsibility on offense. Donald Sloan will log some extended minutes as the primary backup point guard for the Pacers, but he's not bringing enough to the stat sheet to be considered a viable option in most leagues.

C.J. Watson (elbow) will not play against the Knicks on Wednesday.

He's been dealing with his right elbow injury for several years and he could miss more games going forward. With Watson out, Rodney Stuckey, C.J. Miles and Solomon Hill could get a couple extra minutes.
Apr 8 - 4:25 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks.

If Watson is unable to go on Wednesday, there will be more minutes for guys like Donald Sloan and Rodney Stuckey. Sloan isn't likely to get much more than 20 minutes, but that's not enough floor time for him to produce enough statistically to be considered in most leagues. Stuckey is the primary beneficiary here.
Apr 7 - 2:23 PM

C.J. Watson (elbow) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

With Watson out, Donald Sloan will earn some extra minutes as the backup point guard, but he's not going to do enough on the stat sheet to matter in most leagues. Rodney Stuckey should get some more run tonight, and he looks like the primary beneficiary with Watson unavailable.
Apr 5 - 4:30 PM

C.J. Watson (sore right elbow) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

Watson has played well off the bench for Indiana, so hopefully he isn't forced to miss any time. If Watson is unable to play Sunday, Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles could see an uptick in minutes off the bench, though neither player is a reliable option in standard leagues. Expect another update after shootaround Sunday.
