Free agent Anthony Tolliver said he would prefer to return to the Detroit next season, but is uncertain of where he will wind up.
Tolliver played a larger role than expected in 2017-18, due primarily to injuries to Jon Leuer and Blake Griffin. Over the final ten games of the season, Tolliver averaged 7.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 treys. "This is where I call home. I've been here longer than anywhere else in my career and would love to keep that going," Tolliver said near the end of the season. "But at the end of the day, got to see what's up this summer. You never know what teams are going to do, what organizations are going to do." Apr 17 - 10:22 AM

Date:

Anthony Tolliver drained seven more 3-pointers during Wednesday's loss to the 76ers, on his way to 25 points, five rebounds and one assist through 36 minutes as a starter.

Tolliver has been solid as a starter this season, posting averages of 13.0 points, 2.6 triples, 4.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and just 0.7 turnovers per game on 49.3% shooting, so as long as he’s starting, he’ll be worth owning in most leagues. However, with the Pistons now mathematically eliminated from the postseason, he might not have much time left running with the first unit.
Apr 4 - 10:04 PM

Anthony Tolliver notched his first double-double of the season on Sunday with 10 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and one assist.

Tolliver hit a pair of 3-pointers and there were a few more boards available with Andre Drummond ejected late. Blake Griffin (ankle) will be reevaluated in early April but the Pistons' window of playoff viability is rapidly closing -- they've won five straight games, but still trail Miami by 4.0 games. Once they're mathematically eliminated, the 32-year-old Tolliver could find himself sitting more often than not.
Apr 1 - 8:56 PM

Anthony Tolliver scored 17 points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday.

That's a big line for a guy who has been mostly a one-trick pony on the stat sheet. He'll be doing that trick a bunch with plenty of shots from deep and he gets the Nets poor perimeter defense on Sunday. Tolliver should produce enough value while Blake Griffin is out for another week or more.
Mar 31 - 8:11 PM

Anthony Tolliver made 4-of-6 from the field for 14 points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes during a start against the Wizards on Thursday.

Only six shots in 32 minutes is a mild surprise for Tolliver. Blake Griffin (ankle) could miss time because he needed an MRI, but there isn't enough upside to add Tolliver unless you're in a deep league. A back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday is interesting, if you're fighting for treys in a daily league.
Mar 29 - 9:58 PM

Anthony Tolliver will start for Blake Griffin (ankle) against the Wizards on Thursday.

Coach Stan Van Gundy doesn't get wild and just moves Tolliver up the depth chart. He has a big opportunity today and should get at least 20 minutes, but don't expect him to get much more than scoring output. We'll see if Henry Ellenson backs him up or if the Pistons go small.
Mar 29 - 6:53 PM

Anthony Tolliver scored a season-high 25 points with six rebounds, one assist and six 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Bulls on Saturday.

He got hot with 12 attempts from deep, but this wasn't all about garbage time either. Basically, the bottom line is starting players against the Bulls in DFS is usually a good move.
Mar 24 - 9:30 PM

Anthony Tolliver hit 2-of-7 shots (both 3-pointers) for six points and two rebounds before fouling out of Monday's loss to the Pelicans in just 18 minutes.

Tolliver had been playing well for a few weeks coming into this one, but he got a heavy dose of Anthony Davis tonight. He's been trending down and may have bottomed out tonight, but there's also a chance he could bounce back against the Hawks on Valentine's Day. Either way, you can probably find a more reliable player on your waiver wire than Tolliver.
Feb 12 - 9:41 PM

Anthony Tolliver played 27 minutes and hit 6-of-9 shots and 3-of-6 3-pointers for 15 points and seven rebounds in Monday's 111-91 win over the Blazers.

Tolliver's minutes have dropped from where they were when the Pistons were waiting for Blake Griffin to arrive, but he' still getting about 26 of them a night. He's been en fuego from beyond the arc lately, hitting at least two 3-pointers in five straight games and shooting 53 percent from downtown in those games. If you need threes and want to pick him up, he might be worth it, even playing behind Griffin and Andre Drummond. Additionally, Drummond sprained an ankle tonight, so Tolliver should have a big game on Wednesday if Drummond is unable to go.
Feb 5 - 9:43 PM

Anthony Tolliver scored 13 points with five rebounds, one assist and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Heat on Saturday.

He continues to make an impact with big shots and solid defense. Tolliver played some small forward today because the Pistons were so thin on the perimeter, and maybe that'll continue if Luke Kennard (foot) is out for more time. AT is still not much of an add.
Feb 3 - 10:20 PM

Anthony Tolliver will come off the bench on Thursday vs. Memphis.

This is an expected move with Blake Griffin set to make his Detroit debut. Tolliver did score 20 points in each of his last two games, but he's just a 3-point specialist now and loses most of his value with Griffin in town.
Feb 1 - 11:53 AM

Anthony Tolliver scored 20 points vs. the Cavaliers on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-9 shots and 5-of-5 free throws.

Tolliver also scored 20 points in his last game, but that was also against Cleveland -- they have the worst defensive rating in the NBA. Tolliver made another start tonight and added four rebounds, four assists, one block, two steals and three 3-pointers, but the arrival of Blake Griffin could cripple his fantasy value. Continue to treat him like a deep-league 3-point specialist.
Jan 30 - 11:44 PM

Anthony Tolliver will start again on Tuesday vs. Cleveland.

Tolliver started in place of Avery Bradley (hamstring) on Sunday and finished with 20 points (on 6-of-12 shooting) three rebounds and five assists. Bradley was traded on Monday, and Blake Griffin has yet to arrive in Detroit, so Tolliver will draw another start on Tuesday.
Jan 30 - 8:02 PM

Anthony Tolliver caught fire early vs. the Cavs on Sunday, finishing with a season-high 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including a 5-of-8 mark from downtown.

Tolliver added three rebounds and five assists, which were one shy of his career-high. Avery Bradley (hamstring) was out tonight which shuffled things up for Detroit, giving Tolliver a rare start alongside Reggie Bullock. The veteran's previous season-high was 18 points and the few owners who deployed him benefited from a fluky game against an awful Cavs defense. These teams square off again on Tuesday, so maybe lightning will strike twice for Tolliver.
Jan 28 - 10:09 PM

Anthony Tolliver will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Cavs, with Avery Bradley (groin) unavailable.

The Pistons are mixing things up with Tolliver alongside Ish Smith, Reggie Bullock, Tobias Harris and Andre Drummond. Tolliver's role changes nightly depending upon matchups, so there's not much to glean from his start tonight.
