The Raptors have picked up the team option on Tyler Hansbrough.
It's just $3.3 million and it won't hurt their cap space much. Hansbrough was a mild letdown with the Raptors last season and the acquisition of Patrick Patterson hurt his playing time. He won't have much fantasy value next season in the last year of his deal with the team. Jun 30 - 12:16 PM

Date:

Tyler Hansbrough will move back to the bench against the Thunder on Friday.

He had a solid seven-point, 13-board game on Wednesday while Jonas Valanciunas was on the mend, but JV is back tonight. Hansbrough doesn't offer enough upside to be used while the Raptors have a healthy frontcourt.
Mar 21 - 6:05 PM

Tyler Hansbrough drew a start against the Pelicans on Wednesday, scoring seven points with 13 boards and one turnover in 36 minutes.

Jonas Valanciunas (back) did not play for the first time this season and it allowed Hansbrough to log the most minutes in his time with the Raptors. Valanciunas probably isn't going to miss much more time and was playing well, so this was more of a spot-start for Psycho T. Even if he does start again on Friday, he doesn't offer much upside.
Mar 20 - 12:12 AM

Tyler Hansbrough will start in place of Jonas Valanciunas on Wednesday vs. the Pelicans.

He and the Raptors got very luck with Anthony Davis not playing tonight. Hansbrough's numbers haven't really been there and he figures to split some added run with Chuck Hayes. He's a flier in deeper leagues tonight with little long term value.
Mar 19 - 7:25 PM

Tyler Hansbrough played five minutes against the Grizzlies and did not score.

After an ankle injury that would not heal last month, Hansbrough is going to at least play with Patrick Patterson (elbow) out. The Raptors gave Hansbrough just 12 minutes on Wednesday, so obviously fantasy owners shouldn’t care much considering his low upside.
Mar 14 - 10:45 PM

Tyler Hansbrough only played seven minutes off the Raptors' bench on Sunday, going scoreless with one rebound.

Patrick Patterson will be out at least 7-10 days with an elbow injury, but tonight's rotation gave no indication that Hansbrough will assume his playing time. Avoid him until further notice.
Mar 9 - 10:17 PM

Tyler Hansbrough returned from a lengthy absence due to an ankle injury and failed to score in six minutes Wednesday.

As long as Amir Johnson and Patrick Patterson have a shot at playing, Hansbrough shouldn't have a shot at being in your fantasy lineup.
Jan 29 - 9:56 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) is on the active roster for Wednesday's game against the Magic.

He has been out since New Year's Day in one of the stranger injury stories of the season. His absence has allowed Patrick Patterson to get some extra burn and he didn't disappoint. Pat-Pat owners shouldn't panic yet and Psycho T can remain on the wire in most formats.
Jan 29 - 5:58 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) won't play against the Nets on Monday.

He was expected to play today and will not give it a go. This is his 14th game out of the lineup in one of the stranger injuries of the season. Patrick Patterson will play with a mask and should get a nice chunk of minutes off the bench. Hansbrough is not worth owning in most leagues.
Jan 27 - 6:05 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) is expected to make his long-awaited return on Monday or Wednesday.

He's been out for over three weeks due to a sprain and deep bone bruise, and he's been very cautious about returning too soon and causing a setback. Although coach Dwane Casey expects to see him in uniform, he remains a game-time decision.
Jan 27 - 1:14 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) will not play against the Sixers on Friday.

It will be his 12th consecutive game out of the lineup for what the team is calling a bone bruise now. Hansbrough's fantasy value in almost nonexistent with Patrick Patterson playing better off the bench.
Jan 24 - 7:05 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) will miss his 11th consecutive game on Wednesday.

His sprained and bruised ankle also had some ligament damage, which explains his lengthy absence. Fortunately for Toronto, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes have stepped up nicely since being acquired from the Kings.
Jan 22 - 12:18 PM

Tyler Hansbrough's ankle injury will keep him out again on Monday.

He injured himself in early January and has missed the past 10 games, during which time Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes have established their productivity off the bench. Hansbrough will return to a position battle, in other words, and he's not worth owning outside of very deep leagues.
Jan 20 - 1:03 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Lakers.

Hansbrough is nearing a return, but it will not be on Sunday. Even before going down, Hansbrough was not a very enticing fantasy play with rebounds being the only category he could contribute to meaningfully. With the crowded rotation at the power forward spot in Toronto, Hansbrough can safely be left on the wire in most leagues.
Jan 19 - 11:30 AM

Tyler Hansbrough (ankle) will not play against the Timberwolves on Friday.

This will be his eighth game out of the lineup with his ankle sprain and bone bruise. Hansbrough will see a doctor in the coming days, but is getting closer to a return. Patrick Patterson will get a chance to redeem himself after a quiet Wednesday.
