Tyler Hansbrough sustained a mild ankle sprain during Friday's practice.
Hansbrough has until Sunday to get ready for Game 1 against the Hawks, and he's fully expected to play. The volume-shooting backup power forward wrapped the regular season with averages of 7.0 points and 4.6 rebounds and 16.9 minutes a night. Apr 19 - 3:11 PM

Date:

Tyler Hansbrough scored 13 points with nine boards, one assist and one steal in 20 minutes against the Mavericks on Thursday.

David West returned to the lineup, but Psycho T was able to turn in an efficient line. West didn't get his full workload, so Hansbrough owners that are on the fence with grabbing a hot free agent can probably make the switch.
Mar 28 - 11:21 PM

Tyler Hansbrough scored 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting with 11 rebounds in another start for David West (back) on Monday.

In typical fashion Hansbrough did not have a steal or block, but he did get his scoring and rebounding numbers to where they need to be. It's been a while since we've gotten an update on West, but his status is a very iffy day-to-day right now.
Mar 25 - 11:17 PM

Tyler Hansbrough finished Saturday's loss to the Bulls with seven points, six rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes.

David West (back) is not expected to play on Monday, which keeps Hansbrough's short-term window propped open. He was coming off three consecutive double-doubles but the streak ended with tonight's slugfest, which the Pacers nearly won after a late four-point play by George Hill (11 points, two assists).
Mar 23 - 10:47 PM

Tyler Hansbrough had 22 points and 12 rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting in Friday's win over the Bucks.

When Hansbrough starts, he excels in scoring and boarding. And with David West (back) still having trouble even walking, this isn't just a flash in the pan. In four starts this year, Psycho-T is averaging 18.2 points and 11.7 rebounds on 49.0 percent shooting. On the down side, owners looking to make an add should realize that he has a total of one block and three steals during that four-game span.
Mar 22 - 10:10 PM

Tyler Hansbrough (abdomen) is expected to play on Friday.

Hansbrough was available to return to Tuesday's game "if needed," so this simply confirms that his injury isn't serious and he's good to go for the next one. His health is especially important with David West (back) still having trouble walking and his status for Friday's game up in the air.

Mar 21 - 11:24 AM

Tyler Hansbrough suffered an abdominal cramp during Tuesday's cakewalk over the Magic and was available to return "if needed."

Given that the Pacers were up 86-63 with five minutes left in the game, it's safe to say Hansbrough's night is over. He made another start for David West and will finish with 14 points, 14 rebounds, a steal and a block, but hit just 4-of-14 shots. Any time West will be sitting, Hansbrough will be worth a spot start in many leagues, and West was having trouble walking on Tuesday due to his back injury, so Hansbrough might not be done just yet. Unless you hear differently, assume that Hansbrough will be ready to go on Friday against the Bucks.
Mar 19 - 9:13 PM

Tyler Hansbrough started for the injured David West (back) and had 18 points, 11 boards and no turnovers in 23 minutes against the Cavs.

He did some damage and he was the obvious beneficiary of West not playing. West shouldn't miss too much time, so Hansbrough doesn't have too much value as a pickup.
Mar 18 - 11:11 PM

Tyler Hansbrough scored 18 points in Friday's easy 115-86 win over the Magic, adding six boards, two assists and one block on 7-of-10 shooting.

He only played 20 minutes and eight of his points came in garbage time. There's no reason to pick him up while David West is healthy. D.J. Augustin also benefited from garbage time with 14 points and four 3-pointers.
Mar 8 - 10:09 PM

Tyler Hansbrough had 19 points and 10 rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting in a start for David West on Wednesday, as West sat out with an eye injury.

Hansbrough could start for many NBA teams and showed his stuff tonight, but doesn't have fantasy value as long as West is starting for the Pacers. Jeff Pendergraph added 10 points and eight boards off the bench, while Ian Mahinmi got into the act with 10 points, five boards, three steals and two blocks. West should be back after the break, which is bad news for all three players.
Feb 13 - 10:49 PM

Tyler Hansbrough played just 17 minutes on Wednesday but managed to double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

We'd like to think Hansbrough went nuts in garbage time, but he played just 17 minutes. Continue to ignore him unless this becomes a trend and his minutes increase dramatically.
Jan 30 - 11:06 PM

Tyler Hansbrough scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting with four rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Hansbrough took a shot to the head by KG in a physical game that had Psycho T's name written all over it. He's not getting enough minutes nor is he producing enough for fantasy leagues, and we'll let you know if he gets on a roll.
Jan 5 - 4:01 AM

Tyler Hansbrough is not worried about his shooting slump.

He probably should be. "He's struggling, obviously," said Frank Vogel. "He has to figure it out." He's shooting just 36.4 percent on the season and averaging under 20 minutes per game, two clear indications that owners can do far better in standard formats.
Wed, Dec 5, 2012 09:22:00 AM

Tyler Hansbrough had a team-high 17 points to go with five rebounds in 19 minutes on Wednesday.

He was 6-of-8 from the field and was the only Pacer on the entire roster that shot over 50 percent tonight. He's not getting enough minutes to warrant your attention in standard leagues.
Thu, Nov 15, 2012 12:29:00 AM

Tyler Hansbrough scored 15 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 4-of-9 shots (7-of-8 from the foul line) with six rebounds, one steal, and two blocks in 17 minutes.

Hansbrough got on a roll playing for a second unit that didn't have much rhythm, and we're not ready to get behind this effort given the small minute total. If he does it again, we'll let you know and give him a better outlook.
