Joe Alexander's one-year contract with the Russian team Krasyne Kaylya Samara will not include an out clause to return to the NBA this season.
Alexander has largely been a bust since being selected eighth overall in the 2008 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He'll likely attempt to return to the NBA once the labor dispute is resolved, but he's a fringe player who may or may not find his way back into the league. The team also agreed to terms with ex-NBA forward Jarvis Hayes last week as well. Both should do better overseas than they did during their tenure in the NBA.

More players will be in attendance, and judging by this list the Nuggets are looking for an athletic swingman.

Alexander was the eighth overall pick in 2008 draft, taken by Milwaukee, but he hasn't panned out. He could stick with another team before long, but even so he wouldn't have fantasy value.

Joe Alexander and Pops Mensah-Bonsu are battling it out for the backup power forward job in New Orleans.

"I couldn’t say one is ahead of the other right now," Monty Williams said. "They both have done a lot of good stuff." Whoever wins the job will be worth monitoring on draft night, but would only offer true value if David West goes down.

The Hornets have agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with forward Joe Alexander.

A serious hamstring injury cost Alexander his entire season last year and there is no indication that he'll be worth owning in fantasy leagues any time soon. Ignore him, if he makes the team.

The Wolves are going to workout former lottery pick Joe Alexander.

He climbed draft boards in 2008 when his pre-draft workouts and athleticism made him a trendy No. 8 overall pick. He has never come close to fulfilling the hype, however, and even though GM David Kahn has an affinity for former busts, his chances of being a fantasy asset in Minny are minimal.

Bulls acquired Joe Alexander from the Bucks as part of the John Salmons trade.

Alexander is a very long shot to hold any value. A change of scenery for Alexander should do him some good, but probably not until next season at the earliest.

Alexander is healthy enough to return from his hamstring injury, but does not appear to be in the Bucks' long-term plans. With this news, he belongs on the waiver wire even in the deepest fantasy leagues.

Alexander had been on track to return from a hamstring injury but now looks to be out of the Bucks plans this season. With the signing of Jerry Stackhouse, Alexander could spend the rest of the season in the D-League, leaving his NBA future in doubt.

Bucks forward Joe Alexander (hamstring) could return to action vs. the Rockets on Monday.

"So far nothing has happened," said coach Scott Skiles. "More than likely we'll get through (Saturday), work him again on Sunday, and then he will have had three, four or five days of contact." The Bucks declined his third-year option last November, largely because of his injuries, and we don't expect the #8 overall draft pick to have reliable fantasy value this season.

Perhaps they are counting on Joe Alexander, who hasn't played all season due to a torn hamstring, for some rotational minutes off the bench. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 draft is practicing again and appears close to a return.

Joe Alexander (hamstring) will travel with the Bucks on their West Coast roadtrip, though it's not clear when he might return to action.

Alexander will be worked slowly into the rotation, and he'll be little more than an energy guy off the bench this season. The Bucks have tried to trade him in the past, so we're not ruling that out as the February deadline approaches.

Joe Alexander practiced Thursday for the first time since injuring his hamstring in September.

"He looked good," said coach Scott Skiles. "Now we'll wait and see how he responds tomorrow and how he feels in the morning." Alexander was able to run and jump without pain, and Skiles added that he might join the team for its six-game road trip that begins Sunday in Los Angeles. The Bucks hope Alexander can provide a spark off the bench, but his fantasy value will remain minimal until he proves he can stay healthy.

The Bucks have officially declined to pick up the third-year team option on forward Joe Alexander's rookie contract, GM John Hammond confirmed Monday.

Alexander, who will be sidelined until January with a hamstring injury, will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. "It was a difficult decision not to pick up Joe Alexander's option," Hammond said. "Joe has missed valuable on-court development opportunities due to injury during the first two training camps."
