Joe Alexander will re-sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv, according to David Pick.
The No. 8 pick of the 2008 NBA Draft has played all over the world since leaving the NBA and looks to be staying in Israel for the near future. The 29-year-old is unlikely to return to the NBA at this point in his career and can be ignored by fantasy owners. Tue, Jul 12, 2016 01:43:00 PM

Former lottery pick Joe Alexander reportedly turned down a summer contract with the Celtics to sign with the Italian team Sassari.

Since leaving the NBA, Alexander has played in Russia, Israel and the D-League, and he also missed two full years while recovering from a stress fracture in his foot. "I don’t think NBA teams are seriously considering D-League guys for long-term roster spots," Alexander said back in January. "The prospect of playing at a high level overseas and getting a longer contract is a risk I was willing to take." It sounds like his NBA career has come to an end.

Joe Alexander has signed with Maccabi, according to David Pick of EuroBasket.

Alexander had been playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the D-League and will now sign a $110,000 contract with Maccabi, according to Pick. The No. 8 in the 2008 NBA Draft shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters, but can be safely dropped by any owners who were holding out hope.

The Nuggets have invited former lottery pick Joe Alexander to training camp.

Alexander was the No. 8 pick by the Bucks in 2008, but he played only two seasons in the NBA before heading to the D-League. The athletic forward is a longshot to make Denver's final roster -- he's much more likely to return to the D-League or sign a more lucrative deal overseas.

Former Bucks first-round pick forward Joe Alexander has been invited to training camp by the Warriors.

He was a real bust with the Bucks after being taken with the No. 8 pick in the 2008 draft and it would be surprising to see Alexander back in the NBA this season.

Joe Alexander's one-year contract with the Russian team Krasyne Kaylya Samara will not include an out clause to return to the NBA this season.

Alexander has largely been a bust since being selected eighth overall in the 2008 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He'll likely attempt to return to the NBA once the labor dispute is resolved, but he's a fringe player who may or may not find his way back into the league. Similarly to Gerald Green, Alexander's athleticism hasn't translated into his finding success.

Joe Alexander has signed with Russian team Krasyne Kaylya Samara.

The team also agreed to terms with ex-NBA forward Jarvis Hayes last week as well. Both should do better overseas than they did during their tenure in the NBA.

The Nuggets have invited Joe Alexander, Rodney Carney, and DeMarre Carroll to a free agent minicamp this weekend.

More players will be in attendance, and judging by this list the Nuggets are looking for an athletic swingman.

The Hornets have released forward Joe Alexander.

Alexander was the eighth overall pick in 2008 draft, taken by Milwaukee, but he hasn't panned out. He could stick with another team before long, but even so he wouldn't have fantasy value.

Joe Alexander and Pops Mensah-Bonsu are battling it out for the backup power forward job in New Orleans.

"I couldn’t say one is ahead of the other right now," Monty Williams said. "They both have done a lot of good stuff." Whoever wins the job will be worth monitoring on draft night, but would only offer true value if David West goes down.

The Hornets have agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with forward Joe Alexander.

A serious hamstring injury cost Alexander his entire season last year and there is no indication that he'll be worth owning in fantasy leagues any time soon. Ignore him, if he makes the team.

The Wolves are going to workout former lottery pick Joe Alexander.

He climbed draft boards in 2008 when his pre-draft workouts and athleticism made him a trendy No. 8 overall pick. He has never come close to fulfilling the hype, however, and even though GM David Kahn has an affinity for former busts, his chances of being a fantasy asset in Minny are minimal.

Bulls acquired Joe Alexander from the Bucks as part of the John Salmons trade.

Alexander is a very long shot to hold any value. A change of scenery for Alexander should do him some good, but probably not until next season at the earliest.

The Bucks have assigned Joe Alexander to the D-League.

Alexander is healthy enough to return from his hamstring injury, but does not appear to be in the Bucks' long-term plans. With this news, he belongs on the waiver wire even in the deepest fantasy leagues.

Joe Alexander is reportedly heading to the D-League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Alexander had been on track to return from a hamstring injury but now looks to be out of the Bucks plans this season. With the signing of Jerry Stackhouse, Alexander could spend the rest of the season in the D-League, leaving his NBA future in doubt.
