According to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee, Kosta Koufos is a trade candidate.
A report by ESPN in early August suggested that Koufos could be moved as well, so this makes sense considering how much frontcourt depth the Kings have. It also helps that Koufos is on the books for about $8 million per year over the next two seasons, a very reasonable contract under the new salary cap. A move away from Sacramento could be good for his fantasy value, but his upside is low and he averaged just 6.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game last season. Sep 23 - 9:28 AM

Kosta Koufos is available via trade, according to Marc Stein of

Stein adds Rudy Gay and Ben McLemore are also available, but everyone knew that. The Kings used their two first-round picks on big men to go with last year's first-round pick, Willie Cauley-Stein, and DeMarcus Cousins. Teams with depth issues up front might be a good trade partner.
Jul 8 - 4:57 PM

Kosta Koufos moved into the starting lineup vs. the Suns on Monday and nearly double-doubled, scoring 19 points with eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in 35 minutes.

He posted averages of 10.3 points, 9.1 boards, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals in 12 previous starts this season, but he had a very favorable matchup tonight. The Kings obviously want to keep their top-10 protected pick and have been tanking for a couple weeks now, so it's not out of the question that Koufos could be rested on Wednesday vs. the Rockets. If he does play, he will once again be a nice target in DFS with DeMarcus Cousins (rest) out.
Apr 12 - 12:29 AM

Kosta Koufos will start on Monday vs. the Suns.

DeMarcus Cousins (rest) will miss the final two games of the season, so Koufos is worth a look as a low-end big and is also a nice value option in DFS. In 12 starts this season, Koufos has posted averages of 10.3 points, 9.1 boards, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals.
Apr 11 - 9:20 PM

Kosta Koufos scored two points with 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes against the Wolves on Thursday.

He kind of squandered his chance with DeMarcus Cousins out for this game. Koufos probably won't be a big factor on Saturday in the last home game of the season, but he should have value after that.
Apr 8 - 12:30 AM

Kosta Koufos is starting on Thursday against the Wolves.

He should hold down the fort at center with DeMarcus Cousins out. Get Koufos in your lineups for this game, especially with more rest coming for Cousins.
Apr 7 - 9:28 PM

Kosta Koufos (rest) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Blazers.

It's just a night off for the veteran, but it's worth noting that he was on the injury report last week with a knee issue. The Kings are tanking, so it's possible he could get another maintenance day down the stretch. Koufos is only worth a look whenever DeMarcus Cousins misses a game. Expect Willie Cauley-Stein to be busy on Tuesday.
Apr 5 - 6:03 PM

Kosta Koufos (knee) played well on Saturday vs. the Nuggets, scoring 13 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 31 minutes.

His knee wasn't an issue tonight and he played well on both ends of the court. He's been wearing a brace on his left knee recently, so his status is worth monitoring with the Kings tanking. The Kings have three games next week and they're all at home, so Koufos' value could take a major hit if DeMarcus Cousins (rest) is allowed to play. For now, he should be treated as a low-end big.
Apr 2 - 11:45 PM

Kosta Koufos (knee) and Willie Cauley-Stein (shoulder) are probable to play against the Nuggets on Saturday.

It was a little puzzling to see Koufos on the injury report today. He looked terrific in the fourth quarter on both ends and nothing really looked like it went wrong. Koufos does have a left knee brace on when he plays, so it was more precautionary. Get him in your lineups tonight.
Apr 2 - 8:01 PM

Kosta Koufos (knee) is questionable to play against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Well, the Kings might be shorthanded tonight. DeMarcus Cousins (rest) and Omri Casspi (hamstring) are out for this one while Willie Cauley-Stein (shoulder) is questionable. If all of these guys can't go, there there will heavy minutes going to Quincy Acy while the Kings go extremely small.
Apr 2 - 3:07 PM

Kosta Koufos played 22 minutes against the Heat on Friday with 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 22 minutes.

DeMarcus Cousins was out tonight and he'll be out for all of the road games. Koufos could be looking at big run against his former team in Denver. If you need a big man, give him a look.
Apr 2 - 12:59 AM

Kosta Koufos scores 12 points in 16 minutes off the bench on Wednesday with two rebounds against the Wizards.

He's going to be the favorite to start on Friday with DeMarcus Cousins picking up his 16th technical foul of the year. Koufos should be able to get at least one start regardless this weekend with a road back-to-back coming up in Denver on Saturday.
Mar 31 - 1:12 AM

Kosta Koufos started in place of DeMarcus Cousins (rest) on Monday vs. the Blazers and scored 10 points with seven boards in 31 minutes.

The playing time was nice and he also added a couple of steals with a block. Cousins is a shut-down candidate down the stretch because he's been banged up all season, so Koufos could be a nice low-end big to pick up in deeper leagues. He's not worth deploying while Cousins is active, though.
Mar 29 - 12:28 AM

Kosta Koufos will start against the Blazers on Monday in place of DeMarcus Cousins (rest).

He and Willie Cauley-Stein should be getting all the center minutes while they could play next to each other quite a bit too. Cauley-Stein has the higher upside while Koufos is still a decent option to use tonight.
Mar 28 - 8:39 PM

Kosta Koufos will return to the bench for Friday's game against Phoenix, with DeMarcus Cousins (knee) back in the starting lineup.

Koufos' minutes will likely be in the low-teens tonight with Cousins active, which isn't enough time for him to produce in any setting. Those that picked him up for the short-term production sans Cousins can go ahead and send him back to the wire.
