Kosta Koufos said that he is looking forward to playing for George Karl in Sacramento this upcoming season.
"[Karl is] one of the best coaches in the NBA," said Koufos. "He gets the best out of his players and I'm very excited." Koufos will be challenging rookie Willie Cauley-Stein for minutes in Sacramento's frontcourt, and it’s possible he begins the 2015-16 season as a starter for the Kings. We'll be watching this position battle closely over the course of the preseason, but even as a starter, it's unlikely Koufos would offer much fantasy value to owners in standard leagues. Cauley-Stein offers much more upside, and is worth a late-round selection in deep leagues. Sep 1 - 3:44 PM

Kosta Koufos and the Kings agreed to a four-year, $33 million deal.

Coach George Karl was a fan of Kosta in Denver but he needs some help to matter in most fantasy leagues. This is a solid signing for the Kings, despite what you might be reading in the Twittersphere.

The Grizzlies could do a sign-and-trade with Kosta Koufos and move him to the Clippers.

The Clippers are in scramble mode right now and Koufos is arguably the best center available on the market. They could try to deal with the Pacers and Roy Hibbert, too. Plus, any team wanting to deal a center is probably giving the Clips a call.
Jul 3 - 5:35 PM

Kosta Koufos has interest from the Mavs, Lakers and Kings.

He's clearly a backup plan and there's actually a decent chance he starts for the Mavs or Lakers. Koufos made three starts last season, averaging 7.0 points, 6.0 boards and 0.7 blocks. He'd be a low-end option in deeper fantasy leagues in the right situation.
Jul 2 - 7:25 PM

Kosta Koufos will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and teams such as the Magic, Celtics and Kings are interested in signing him.

Koufos was stuck behind Marc Gasol in Memphis, and he has made it known that he would like to have a starting role. If the Grizzlies are able to retain Gasol, it sounds like Koufos will likely be wearing a different uniform next season. Koufos averaged just 5.2 points, 5.3 boards and 0.8 blocks in just 16.6 minutes per game this season, but he could pop up on the radar in fantasy leagues if he lands in an ideal situation.

Kosta Koufos, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, wants to be a starter in the NBA.

Koufos was a very solid backup in Memphis behind Marc Gasol, and he will be sure to command plenty of interest on the open market. The Grizzlies will obviously make re-signing Gasol their top priority, so it's possible that they are forced to part ways with Koufos. If he lands in an ideal situation, Koufos could be a name to watch heading into fantasy drafts next season.

May 20 - 12:13 PM

Kosta Koufos played 17 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday with eight points, seven rebounds and one turnover.

He didn't start the second half with Marc Gasol (ankle) out, but he did play most of the clutch minutes and was the first sub after the break. Koufos is the favorite to start if Gasol needs to miss time, which seems to be a likely scenario. The Grizzlies needed this game, Gasol is a warrior and he tried to get re-taped, but he still couldn't get back out there. Still, Koufos is not an option unless you're in dire straits for a big man.
Apr 12 - 12:41 AM

Kosta Koufos grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds on Monday, and also chipped in with eight points on 3-of-6 shooting and three blocks.

Koufos might get some extra minutes if the Grizzlies pull back on some of their big men, but in the thick of a seeding hunt that's hard to plan for if you're a fantasy owner. Even seeing Zach Randolph hobble around a bit with a sore knee, we'd need to hear that he's in danger of missing time before we advise a pickup.
Mar 30 - 11:16 PM

Kosta Koufos started in place of Zach Randolph (illness) on Tuesday vs. the Jazz, scoring six points with 10 boards and one assist in 34 minutes.

Koufos is a decent streaming option in daily leagues whenever Marc Gasol or Zach Randolph are inactive, but owners searching for long-term value should look the other way. The Grizzlies play the Rockets on Wednesday, so Koufos may have another chance to start if Z-Bo can't go.
Mar 3 - 11:03 PM

Kosta Koufos will start Tuesday's game in place of Zach Randolph (illness).

Koufos makes a decent temporary fantasy option but most owners should have more reliable long-term alternatives on the waiver wire. Z-Bo's absence will also open up more opportunities for backup big man Jon Leuer, and it will be all hands on deck for the Grizzlies tonight.
Mar 3 - 7:49 PM

Kosta Koufos played a key role in Sunday's impressive win vs. the Hawks, scoring 10 points with seven rebounds and one block in 17 minutes off the Grizzlies' bench.

Jon Leuer chipped in four points and two boards in eight minutes, and Koufos is the lynchpin big man for Memphis' reserves, allowing Marc Gasol (16 points, 10 rebounds) to get a few much-needed breathers. Koufos doesn't have standard-league appeal in a backup role, but he'd be a solid pickup if Gasol every misses time with an injury.
Feb 8 - 8:40 PM

Kosta Koufos scored five points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 33 minutes on Monday against the Jazz.

Koufos and Jon Leuer (four points, five boards, 26 minutes) are picking up the slack for Zach Randolph and based on tonight Koufos is the better play between the two. Neither are must-adds even on a speculative or short-term basis as Randolph is day-to-day with his knee injury.

Kosta Koufos will start in place of Zach Randolph (knee) on Monday.

The Jazz have a lot of size up front with Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter, so John Leuer will come off the bench on Monday. Leuer has still posted a nice enough usage rate and had a great game on Sunday, so he's still the preferred option. Koufos is only worth a look in very deep leagues.

The Cavs are interested in a trade for Kosta Koufos, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.

If you're a big man capable of protecting the rim who is currently in the NBA, the Cavs are interested in you. Cleveland continues to unsuccessfully dangle Dion Waiters as "trade bait," so it's not a surprise a deal hasn't materialized. Memphis may not even be interested in Waiters, so this could all become moot rather quickly.

Kosta Koufos played 13 minutes off the bench on Wednesday with eight points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

Marc Gasol (knee) is going to get an MRI and he could miss time. Although, there is nothing clear on his status and he could be fine. If Gasol is out, Koufos will be worth a look in standard leagues.
