Kosta Koufos was scoreless in just nine minutes with one rebound and two turnovers in Saturday's loss at Milwaukee.
Koufos didn't get off to a very good start, and Willie Cauley-Stein was injured early on. Head coach Dave Joerger likes to play Koufos and Cauley-Stein next to each other, and the injury ruined that plan so Zach Randolph and Jakarr Sampson were used more down low to try and neutralize Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee frontcourt. Kosta Koufos scored a season-high 16 points vs. the Nuggets on Monday, hitting 7-of-9 shots with four rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 28 minutes.

He continues to get minutes at the expense of Sacramento's younger talent, but that won't always be the case. Koufos has seen an uptick in minutes and production lately with 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks over his last five games, but you'd have to be in a very deep league to trust him on a nightly basis.
Nov 21 - 1:09 AM

Kosta Koufos scored four points with seven rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

Willie Cauley-Stein said he likes to play next to Koufos, so maybe he can find a regular role. Still, there's very little upside here.
Nov 19 - 12:24 AM

Kosta Koufos scored 10 points with seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in 33 minutes against the Blazers on Friday.

He played great next to Willie Cauley-Stein in the second unit to keep the Blazers to 82 points. It may be tough for Koufos to see run every night, but getting a win when he played a team-high 33 minutes should help his case. We'll see if he plays in the back-to-back set on Saturday. It's really hard to add him with how often coach Dave Joerger changes his rotation.
Nov 18 - 1:15 AM

Kosta Koufos scored eight points with 12 rebounds, three assists and one block in 21 minutes against the 76ers on Thursday.

It seemed to be pretty clear coach Dave Joerger wanted some extra size in there to limit the 76ers inside. Koufos is getting some decent minutes when he's been healthy, but there just isn't enough long-term upside to use in most leagues.
Nov 10 - 1:00 AM

Kosta Koufos got mowed down by a Russell Westbrook elbow to the face while going after a free throw rebound and went to the locker room.

He took a really hard blow to his face and head and might be getting stitches, or possibly being looked at for a concussion. If Koufos were to miss time, the disappointing Willie Cauley-Stein might see a boost.
Nov 8 - 12:05 AM

Kosta Koufos scored two points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 16 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Coach Dave Joerger loves to play his guy Koufos, but the minutes won't be there almost any night. There has to be someone better to stash in almost any league.
Oct 22 - 12:52 AM

The Kings rested Zach Randolph, Kosta Koufos, Vince Carter and Garrett Temple on Friday.

For now, it sounds like the Kings will put Koufos in the rotation in the beginning of the year. However, there just isn't enough upside to take him almost anywhere.
Oct 14 - 1:29 AM

Kosta Koufos (rest) will not play Wednesday against the Clippers.

The Kings should've probably ruled him out for the season as Koufos won't be playing in the final eight games of the year. Coach Dave Joerger talked up Georgios Papagiannis after Tuesday's game, so maybe he gets turned loose a bit tonight.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: The Kings are going to have eight healthy bodies on Wednesday, and five of them are guards, so the front-court players in the rotation should see huge minutes as a result. Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere and Georgios Papagiannis are the only active big men, and it would stand to reason that both Cauley-Stein and Labissiere should see at least 30 minutes of court time, with Papagiannis likely to at least approach that total.
Apr 12 - 5:31 PM

Kosta Koufos (rest) will not play Tuesday vs. the Suns.

With the Kings in tank mode and resting their vets, Koufos has yet to appear in a single game this month. He's likely to remain sidelined for the season finale on Wednesday as well.
Apr 11 - 6:02 PM

Kosta Koufos will rest on Sunday vs. Houston.

He's been "resting" since Mar. 27 and likely won't play on Tuesday vs. the Suns or Wednesday vs. the Clippers either.
Apr 9 - 1:39 PM

Kosta Koufos will not play against the Lakers on Friday.

It's another day off and Koufos is basically out for the season. Georgios Papagiannis will back up Willie Cauley-Stein for this one while Skal Labissiere should get solid minutes at the four.
Apr 7 - 4:35 PM

Kosta Koufos (rest) will remain on the sidelines for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks.

This will be Koufos' fourth straight game on the sidelines due to rest purposes, and there's a chance he could eventually be shut down by Sacramento. Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere and Georgios Papagiannis will continue to pick up most of the frontcourt minutes in Sacramento.

Kosta Koufos (rest) will not play Saturday vs. Minnesota.

This will be the third straight game in which Koufos has been rested. Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere and Georgios Papagiannis will continue to soak up most of the minutes in the middle for Sacramento.
Apr 1 - 1:52 PM

Kosta Koufos (rest) will not play Friday vs. the Pelicans.

This will be the second straight game Koufos has missed. Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere and Georgios Papagiannis should see additional playing time with Kosta on the sidelines.
