Kosta Koufos scored two points with two rebounds, one assist and one block in 14 minutes against the Warriors on Friday.
He'll get more rest going forward and there is just no upside in fantasy right now. Even if you're in a 40-man league, go pick up someone else. The Kings may even shut him down to look more at their youth. Mar 25 - 2:48 AM

Date:

Kosta Koufos is starting vs. the Warriors on Friday.

Koufos was rested on Wednesday vs. the Bucks, but should see his normal workload tonight. We still like Skal Labissiere's outlook going forward and Koufos could get more DNPs down the stretch, so Koufos belongs on the wire in standard leagues.
Mar 24 - 10:16 PM

Kosta Koufos (rest) will not play Wednesday against the Bucks.

It's a home game for the Kings, so they'll give their fans a look at the youth today. Georgios Papagiannis had a productive weekend on the road and should be looking at minutes in the 20s. He's a sneaky guy to use in fantasy, especially with how the Kings are giving him the ball. Koufos is not worth owning in most fantasy leagues anymore.
Mar 22 - 7:46 PM

Kosta Koufos scored nine points with six rebounds, two assists and one block in 23 minutes against the Thunder on Saturday.

He is playing through a right hand injury and does have two fingers taped. According to the Kings broadcast, Koufos said he is going to have to play through it for a month or so. Perhaps this will be a reason to hold Koufos out of games as the season winds down. With Georgios Papagiannis turning in his best game as a pro, we'll likely be seeing Koufos' playing time start to fade.
Mar 18 - 5:40 PM

Kosta Koufos scored 13 points with six rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 20 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday.

Koufos was back in the starting lineup after getting rest on Monday. He looked to be on his way to a really strong game, but Skal Labissiere went scorched-earth mode in the fourth and Koufos never checked back in. Koufos did rest on Monday and there's a very good chance he's not going to play on Friday. He can't be owned in fantasy with so much uncertainty about his status going forward.
Mar 16 - 2:43 AM

Ty Lawson, Buddy Hield, Arron Afflalo, Kosta Koufos and Willie Cauley-Stein will start against the Suns on Wednesday.

Koufos is back after a night off and he should be looking at minutes in the 20s. Now that he's likely going to rest more often, he's not really a reliable fantasy option.
Mar 15 - 9:58 PM

Kosta Koufos (rest) is receiving a planned rest and he will not face the Magic on Monday.

With Koufos in street clothes it will be Willie Cauley-Stein playing all the minutes he can handle, and Skal Labissiere is likely to have a larger role than usual, too. Anthony Tolliver should also see added run against the Magic. The best bet for DFS purposes is Cauley-Stein, as he has double-double potential, while Labissiere might be the best value in points per dollar spent.

Kosta Koufos finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds in Monday's loss against the Nuggets.

Koufos has managed back-to-back double-doubles, and three in the past four outings. He is really enjoying the post-DeMarcus Cousins era in Sacramento, averaging 10.0 points and 9.0 rebounds over his past four outings. If the production continues he might emerge as a useful option outside of deeper fantasy leagues.
Mar 7 - 12:39 AM

Kosta Koufos finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds in Sunday's game against the Jazz.

Koufos posted his third double-double of the season, and second over the past three games. He has really taken off since the DeMarcus Cousins trade, although he showed how unreliable he can be from a fantasy standpoint when he was scoreless (0-for-7 FG) in Wednesday's game against the lowly Nets. Treat him more as an option for depth in fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams.
Mar 5 - 8:57 PM

Kosta Koufos missed all seven of his shot attempts vs. Brooklyn, going scoreless with five rebounds.

That was the sum total of Koufos' contributions tonight, while opposing center Brook Lopez led both teams in scoring and rebounds. Koufos was coming off a 14 & 10 double-double and there's no reason to think his role will change vs. Utah's imposing frontcourt on Sunday.
Mar 2 - 2:20 AM

Kosta Koufos went for 14 points and 11 rebounds in Monday's 102-88 loss against the Timberwolves.

It was the first double-double for Koufos since Dec. 16, and first one in front of the home fans all season. In other words, don't expect it to become a frequent occurrence. He'll give you a handful of points, a few rebounds and an occasional blocked shot. Expectations of anything more will leave you disappointed.
Feb 28 - 1:18 AM

Kosta Koufos scored eight points with six rebounds and two blocks in 21 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday.

That's about what to expect from Koufos going forward. His upside just isn't attractive enough to own in standard leagues, but he could be a low-end deep guy for desperate owners.
Feb 24 - 1:35 AM

Kosta Koufos started vs. the Warriors on Wednesday but had only one point, two rebounds, one block and four personal fouls in 11 minutes.

Koufos was similarly quiet in his last game vs. the Warriors -- it's not a good matchup for him, and tonight was a perfect storm with both foul trouble and a blowout conspiring against him. Willie Cauley-Stein is gaining traction and there's no reason to own Koufos in typical leagues.
Feb 16 - 1:19 AM

Kosta Koufos (finger) played 18 minutes on Friday vs. the Hawks, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting with four boards, one assist and two steals.

His right ring finger was very swollen on Wednesday, so he's fortunate that he was able to play tonight. To be clear, he doesn't have much fantasy value anyways and Willie Cauley-Stein could be coming for his minutes soon.
Feb 11 - 1:24 AM

Kosta Koufos played through a finger injury on Wednesday, finishing with six points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 27 minutes of action.

Click the link below for a picture of Koufos' right ring finger, which was incredibly swollen after the game. There's no suggestion that he'll miss any time, but it wouldn't be a surprise and we'll add him to the injury report as a precaution.
