Clippers coach Doc Rivers said the starting SF role is "wide open."
Luc Mbah a Moute and Alan Anderson both spent time with the first unit on the opening day of camp, but Wes Johnson should also be in the mix as well. As for Paul Pierce, he's expected to see most of his minutes as the backup PF. Even if Mbah a Moute wins the job, he won't be a fantasy option after averaging 3.5 points, 2.6 boards, 0.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks. Sep 27 - 7:17 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute is finalizing a two-year, $4.5 million deal to return to the Clippers.

The Clippers are essentially bringing back their same team minus Jeff Green. Mbah a Moute started 61 games for the Clippers last year, averaging 3.5 points, 2.6 boards, 0.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks. He won't have much fantasy value in his age-30 season.

Doc Rivers said that there were stretches he could have used Luc Mbah a Moute's defense during Wednesday's Game 5 loss.

Mbah a Moute picked up a DNP-CD as Rivers tried and go with more floor spacers, but given that the result was a loss, it sounds like Mbah a Moute will be back in the rotation for Game 6. Still, even when given the minutes, Mbah a Moute rarely makes a meaningful contribution to the stat sheet.
Apr 28 - 5:29 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute did not leave the Clippers' bench on Wednesday.

Mbah a Moute was bumped from the starting lineup in favor of Paul Pierce tonight, and it's anyone's guess whether he'll play in a must-win Game 6 on Friday.
Apr 28 - 1:00 AM

Luc Mbah a Moute started Game 1 on Sunday but he finished scoreless with five rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes of action.

Mbah a Moute's contributions rarely show up on the stat sheet so his nearly invisible line tonight is no surprise. Jeff Green came off the bench for three points in 16 minutes, Paul Pierce added two points in 11 minutes, and Wes Johnson chipped in three points and two boards in nine minutes. The Clippers' SF position is a wasteland for fantasy purposes.
Apr 18 - 1:49 AM

Luc Mbah a Moute started Wednesday's game but played only eight minutes, scoring two points with one rebound and no other stats to his credit.

Mbah a Moute is a fantasy case study. He's started nearly 80 percent of his games this season but isn't even close to top-300 value, hovering in the range of guys like Montrezl Harrell, Ray McCallum, Jerian Grant and Ryan Hollins. The only other frequent starter in his neighborhood is Blazers' F Noah Vonleh.
Mar 24 - 1:59 AM

Luc Mbah a Moute finished Wednesday's road win in Houston with 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting, four rebounds (three offensive), one assist and one steal in 33 minutes.

This is a veritable offensive explosion by Mbah a Moute's standards, as he hadn't scored more than six points in a game since Jan. 10. He scored two quick buckets in garbage time and is nowhere near being a fantasy asset in the bulk of leagues.
Mar 17 - 12:34 AM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) returned to action on Sunday with two points, one rebound, two steals and one block in 22 minutes of action.

Chris Paul recently praised Mbah a Moute as the Clippers' most selfless and under-appreciated player. That may be true, but his on-court contributions don't translate to fantasy value outside of the deepest leagues.
Mar 14 - 2:14 AM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) will start on Sunday vs. the Cavaliers.

He's missed five games in a row, but his return will likely send Jeff Green back to the bench. LMAM is basically just in the lineup for his defense and is averaging 2.9 points and 2.4 boards on the season, so he belongs on the wire.
Mar 13 - 1:51 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) could return on Sunday vs. Cleveland.

Doc Rivers said Mbah a Moute is "feeling a lot better," and the veteran's eyesight has improved after dealing with blurred vision following the injury. Upon returning, Mbah a Moute will wear eyeglasses to protect himself, and he'll take a bite of the current frontcourt rotation that includes Paul Pierce, Jeff Green and Wes Johnson with Blake Griffin (hand, quad) still sidelined.
Mar 12 - 1:32 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Knicks.

It'll be Mbah a Moute's fifth straight game on the sidelines, which will result in more minutes for Jeff Green and Wes Johnson. Mbah a Moute belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Mar 11 - 8:22 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) will be re-evaluated on Friday morning at which point his status for Friday's game against the Knicks will be determined.

Mbah a Moute has spent the past four games on the sidelines, but he is getting close. We'll have another update following Friday morning's shootaround, but Mbah a Moute belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues regardless of his playing status.
Mar 10 - 6:50 PM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) will not play Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

Doc Rivers did say that Mbah a Moute could return as soon as Friday's game against the Knicks or Sunday's game against the Cavs, so he is getting close. Jeff Green and Wes Johnson will continue to pick up some extra minutes in Mbah a Moute's absence, but those guys are too inconsistent to rely upon in most settings.
Mar 9 - 1:37 PM

Doc Rivers said there is no timetable for Luc Mbah a Moute's (eye) return to action.

"His eye, it’s a tough injury and there is no timetable set for it," Rivers said. "I don’t know he’ll be back soon." The head coach doesn't expect Mbah a Moute to play in at least the next two games, meaning he'd be back on Friday at the earliest. Jeff Green and Wes Johnson should each keep seeing a boost in minutes until Blake Griffin (hand) returns.
Mar 7 - 11:13 AM

Luc Mbah a Moute (eye) will not play on Saturday vs. the Hawks.

LMAM will also sit out on Monday vs. the Mavericks. Jeff Green will draw another start even though he is coming off a zero-point performance vs. the Thunder, but he could see a lot of minutes tonight. Wes Johnson should see a boost in minutes as well.
