Henry Walker scored 21 points against the 76ers on Wednesday with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and six 3-pointers in 48 minutes.
His 21 points were a season high and he hit a very clutch 3-pointer to help Miami get the win. Luckily for them, the Nets were able to get the win tonight, so he didn't have the most costly make for a team in NBA lottery history. To elaborate, if the Nets had lost and Miami lost a coin toss for the 10th position in the lottery, their chances of keeping their top-10 protected pick would have gone way down. Walker won't be worth drafting in any league next year. Apr 15 - 11:21 PM

Date:

Henry Walker (elbow) will play against the Raptors on Saturday.

He received a shot to relieve the pain in his elbow for this game. Walker will likely play 13-18 minutes tonight, but he's not a fantasy option in almost all leagues.
Apr 11 - 5:51 PM

Henry Walker (elbow) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Raptors.

Walker's minutes were on the decline prior to the injury, and he isn't an option when the Heat are close to full strength. Walker can be dropped in almost all leagues, while Michael Beasley and James Ennis could get some extra minutes off the bench.
Apr 11 - 2:17 PM

Henry Walker (left elbow) will not play against the Bulls on Thursday and will miss a couple days.

He was probable due to an undisclosed injury on Tuesday and maybe it's this elbow problem. Walker's playing time was starting to slide anyway, so there shouldn't be many fantasy implications. Expect to see James Ennis and Michael Beasley play close to 15-20 minutes each.
Apr 9 - 7:10 PM

Henry Walker (undisclosed) is probable for Tuesday's game against Charlotte.

It's not clear what Walker's issue is, but it shouldn't prevent him from playing.
Apr 6 - 1:56 PM

Henry Walker filled in as a starter on Sunday and posted two points, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes vs. the Pacers.

The Heat have turned to Walker out of desperation and he's likely to remain a starter with Michael Beasley (knee) ailing and Luol Deng (knee) heading for an MRI. Walker is only worth fantasy owners' attention for his 3-point shooting and steals -- as a starter he's knocking down 1.9 triples and swiping the ball 1.5 times per game.
Apr 5 - 9:09 PM

Henry Walker and Udonis Haslem will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's game vs. the Pacers with both Chris Andersen (foot) and Hassan Whiteside (hand) unavailable.

Walker and Haslem don't offer a lot of upside, but they're going to get a healthy heaping of minutes tonight with Miami's frontcourt banged up. Walker can be viewed as a 3-point and steals specialist in deep leagues, but he's not making a blip on the standard league radar.
Apr 5 - 5:40 PM

Henry Walker made his ninth start of the season on Sunday, posting six points, five rebounds, one assist and one block in 34 minutes during Miami's win vs. the Pistons.

Walker gives the Heat some much-needed frontcourt depth without benefiting fantasy owners -- his 34.3 percent shooting is reason enough to avoid him in standard leagues. Owners looking for a cheap daily-league option should monitor Miami's injury report, however, as Walker may be forced into a 35-minute role on Tuesday.
Mar 29 - 9:10 PM

Henry Walker scored 12 points with nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and four 3-pointers in 40 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Udonis Haslem played 38 minutes on Wednesday and now Walker gets 40 minutes tonight. This is your 2014-15 Miami Heat right now. Walker has buried at least three 3-pointers in four of his last five, averaging 8.4 points, 4.8 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.8 treys in that span. He's worth a look in standard leagues, especially with Dwyane Wade dealing with a knee issue.
Mar 27 - 11:49 PM

Henry Walker started for Dwyane Wade (knee) and hit 4-of-8 3-pointers for 12 points, four boards and two assists in Wednesday's win.

James Ennis had six points and six rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench, and Tyler Johnson added 12 points, four rebounds, two steals and a block in 20 minutes. Wade is day-to-day with his injury, and we expect this trio to continue to chip in as long as he's out. Unfortunately, none of them can be trusted in fantasy, even when Wade is out.
Mar 26 - 12:47 AM

Henry Walker will start against the Celtics on Wednesday with Michael Beasley coming off the bench.

The Heat desperately need some scoring punch off the bench, so expect to see a lot of Beasley. He's also likely going to be a backup center fort Miami tonight. Walker is still a low-end option with Beasley offering the higher upside.
Mar 25 - 7:15 PM

Heat F Henry Walker missed all six of his shot attempts vs. the Thunder, finishing scoreless with four rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.

More than three-quarters of Walker's shots come from beyond the arc, which makes him especially prone to boom-or-bust games offensively. He's foul-prone and has scored 10+ points just once in the month of March, so there's no reason to own him despite his steady minutes in Erik Spoelstra's second unit.
Mar 22 - 6:02 PM

Henry Walker scored eight points on 3-of-12 shooting (2-of-9 from deep) with two rebounds, two assists and four steals over 22 minutes in Friday's loss to the Raptors.

Walker has been a top 50-70 value this past week, averaging 7.5 points with 1.5 treys, 3.8 boards, 2.5 steals and 0.8 blocks while hitting a lower-volume 35.7 percent of his shots. The defensive numbers are outliers over his career marks, but the system has done him well in Miami as he has a combined 1.6 steals and blocks over his last 11 contests. We don't know if he can keep it up but he is setting himself up as a guy to watch.
Mar 13 - 11:33 PM

Henry Walker has reportedly signed a contract with the Heat that will keep him with the team for the remainder of the season.

Walker is averaging 8.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 three-pointers with Miami this season, so while he can be viewed as a 3-point specialist in deep leagues, he doesn't belong on a roster in standard leagues.

Mar 12 - 8:52 PM

Henry Walker's second 10-day contract expires on Thursday, so the Miami Heat will now need to decide whether they will release him or sign him for the remainder of the season.

Walker has been an effective bench player for Miami this season, averaging 8.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 three-pointer per game through 27.4 minutes of action. He is currently traveling with the Heat to Toronto for Friday's game, which is a positive sign for his chances to remain with the team. However, at best, Walker can be viewed as a 3-point specialist in deep leagues. If he is not retained, Michael Beasley would likely pick up most of his minutes.
